Should the questionable actions of the FBI possibly violating the law by tampering with the election be investigated? Should a Special Prosecutor be appointed by the Attorney General and, if so, when? My druthers would be today, immediately if not before in order to stem a dangerous turn toward damaging our democracy.
But who is above reproach, beyond bias and not tainted with today’s scandals? Perhaps someone like retired SCOTUS Justices Sandra Day O’Connor or David Souter, both appointees by Republican presidents and one a former prosecutor.
How should this mess be approached, how soon in your opinion and who would you appoint if you were AG Lynch?

Pat: Yes investigate ASAP, but as I said a day or two ago who is there in this climate of hate and mistrust that would be believed? I think your ideas are good, or perhaps some kind of joint (bipartisan) task force type investigation would work. I don’t know if anything can or will be done. What have we seen so far? We have a man running for President that has possible ties to Russia and that’s not being investigated. He has refused to disclose his tax returns and that’s not being looked into. He encourages violence, voter suppression and voter fraud (if you voted early, vote again!) and it seems he’s immune to having to take responsibility for those actions. Didn’t he say early on in his ‘deplorable’ campaign that he could kill someone on the streets of NY and it wouldn’t matter (or words to that effect)? Yet years and millions of dollars have been spent investigating HRC to find nothing. I don’t see how sanity will finally prevail any time soon.

First, the media have let Trump slide on almost all of his outrageous rhetoric while making issues out of every word, gesture, rumor or innuendo that anyone anywhere could turn into a negative about Hillary. Second, nobody has to demonize Trump! The disgusting litany of his own words and deeds should be enough to make anyone with eyes to see, ears to hear and a brain to think with too embarrassed, frightened or horrified to say they are a Trump supporter. I don’t need anyone to tell me how horrible and deranged he is. He has told me himself almost every time he opens his mouth or tweets.
As for the abortion issue! The government has no business deciding what should be between a woman, her doctor and her family PERIOD! Trump would love to make the world believe that thousands of women are ripping babies out of their bodies in the last month of pregnancy and that is what abortion is about! But anyone who is truly interested in facts can do their research and will learn that late abortions only happen in extreme, dire circumstances and are not a common practice. As Pat showed in the article she quoted.

As a past middle-aged, reasonably intelligent, over educated white guy who’s never borne a child, never will bear a child (although I have a kid) it’s none of my business what decisions women make regarding the bearing of children. The only basis that I might have to try to impose one view or the other on a woman’s decision regarding pregnancy, the continuation or termination of the same, and whether their health might be impacted by that decision would be my own personal opinions, likely tied to a religious view, and imposed through a law or laws that substitute my opinion for the woman’s decision. I find that despicable.

One unpleasant thing, watching the WS and some of the other post season games means I’ve had to watch Trump ads. Actually, ad! It’s the same old tired ad I’ve seen 100 times. Guess he doesn’t have much to choose from. I’ve only seen 2 of his ads and they are both full of accusations that have already been proven to be BS. One I only saw several weeks ago, maybe he had to stop airing it because it was pretty blatantly untrue. Still, why am I not seeing any Hillary ads? It’s the World Series!! Lots of fans watching. Probably too late for her to put one up now if there isn’t one queued up already. I hope to see one before the end of the night.

Good post. The media needs to be slapped in the face for inept and crummy reporting of what Comey did. It was not Clinton being investigated, it was the slimeball Wiener. At least they (combined media) started to go after Comey once it became apparent as to what he did.
Comey should be sent home on unpaid leave while a special prosecutor investigates him. He really worked hard at breaking a tradition to avoid injecting the FBI into politics. For that he should face a long time unemployed.

another way of looking at this misconception by those polled who see drumpf more truthy is that they themselves believe their world is rigged; women are conniving, nasty, disgusting and or gullible; and there are simple, straight solutions to everything from taxes to law enforcement… whilst those who believe Hillary is telling it truthfully see the their world in complex terms and solutions to our problems as complicated and dependent upon compromise.

patd, Bingo! on perception vs reality. The Republican Nominee, as repugnant as he is, gets this, plays to the crowd, fresh meat daily. Torches & Pitchforks, storm the castle, kill the monster! During the Primaries Senator Sanders lit a fire under disaffected voters on the Democratic side ( in a sane, reasoned, non violent manner.) Voters want something to believe in. Life is limited; our thoughts, beliefs, actions have to matter or what’s the point? Perhaps the story of Secretary Clinton will be the straight line of her path. Take it, leave it, this is it folks. Will she bamboozle, razzle dazzle ya? Nope, not in her dna. This is who she is. To be or act anyway else would be wrong & pandering.

Cubs win, Cubs win, Cubs win! I missed the ending but it was an exciting game & series 😀 Seeing the headlines on my home page this morning was very reminiscent of 2004! I can relate to the joy of the Cubs fans. I am sad for Tito and the Indians but they played an amazing series and had a great year. I actually think Tito managed game 7 better than Maddon but the Cubs still managed to pull it off in the end. Enjoy your victory Cubs and Cubs fans everywhere!
