Warren Needs Harris Back

CNN’s new national poll of Democrats reveals something interesting. As Kamala Harris sinks Joe Biden rises. This suggests her wavering supporters go to him. Which means it would benefit Elizabeth Warren for Harris to get back in the game, especially if Harris can find a way to peel away black voters from Biden’s significant lead among them.

perhaps if she starts interacting with Stacey Abrams (IOW putting in a good word about the Fair Fight movement and maybe a photo or phone call or nifty tweet to go viral) it would accomplish the same thing.   a little hint here or there about veep talk maybe.

cbs news:

Democrat Stacey Abrams, who isn’t running for president in 2020, said that none of her fellow Democrats seeking the party’s nomination to face off against President Trump have contacted her about making a possible vice-presidential run, but she said she would be “honored” to be considered.
“I would be honored to be considered for the vice presidency by the nominee, but it is presumptuous to think that they are looking at me. What I want everyone to look at is voter suppression,” Abrams said on “CBS This Morning” Monday.

darcy at Cleveland plain dealer:

The Cleveland Browns field goal kickers have been struggling. President Trump could be available for a tryout in 2021 or even sooner. His tanning bed already seems to be set at ‘Browns Orange.”
Despite alleged bone spurs, Trump has shown he can kick for decades. His latest targets have included Jewish-American voters, and former and current Trump communication team members Anthony Scaramucci and Fox News.

[…]

The real bad news for Trump, is that it appears there is in fact a growing number of Republican and Independent voters who now share Scaramucci’s Trump take, not Jean Pero’s.

on fox news via msn:

During a Tuesday interview on the “Hacks on Tap” podcast, Scaramucci casually mentioned that he was going to be “running advertisements” from his own political action committee featuring him and his wife describing what the president “does to people” in hopes of swaying white suburban women.
“Hold on a second, tell me about your political action committee,” podcast co-host David Axelrod interrupted.
“I haven’t formed it yet, but I will,” Scaramucci said. “I’m in the process of doing it. It’s going to be The Committee to Dismantle Trump, but I’ll come up with a much more clever thing than that. I’m gonna throw in my own dough, ask others to put their dough in there and we’re going to explain to the people what he’s doing.”
Scaramucci suggested that the reason he gets “under Trump’s skin” is because he himself isn’t a politician and that his insults are “a reflection of him.”
“At the end of the day, you know, I can grab ahold of five, six, eight percent of the people that know he’s nuts and possibly move them,” Scaramucci added.
On Monday, Trump blasted Scaramucci on and referenced Scaramucci’s wife, Deidre Ball, on Twitter.

Trump is busy this morning tweeting and agreeing that he is King of the Jews.  White coat territory.

“Thank you to Wayne Allyn Root for the very nice words. “President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world…and the Jewish people in Israel love him….

like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God…But American Jews don’t know him or like him. They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense! But that’s OK, if he keeps doing what he’s doing, he’s good for…..

all Jews, Blacks, Gays, everyone. And importantly, he’s good for everyone in America who wants a job.” Wow!

It was way worse than what Omar said.  Omar questioned the dual loyalty of a single individual. That can be a legitimate question.  Trump is assuming that all Jews are and should be loyal to the state of Israel.  BTW this is not the first time he has implied this.

I would say that all Jews must support and protect the existence of the Jewish Homeland known as Israel. To ignore or decline this Obligation is to risk another Holocaust. The Obligation supersedes any demands by politicians for kissing of their asses no matter where those asses claim seat.

by George, he’s at it again as reported by newsweek:

Attorney and frequent Trump administration critic George Conway lashed out at White House staff on Tuesday, slamming them for working for “a rapist,” despite his wife Kellyanne Conway working as a senior counselor to the president.
“I love how these people who work for a rapist have no compunction about making accusations of abuse by someone who criticizes the rapist,” Conway wrote on Twitter, re-tweeting a post by conservative political analyst Bill Kristol. Trump has been accused of sexual assault and rape by multiple women, but none of those allegations have been proven, and the president has never been indicted for any sexual crime.

So  Flatus what you are saying is that the Palestinians  are just collateral damage because the Europeans can’t get their act together and need a place to send their European Jews?
That sounds rough but to me it is the inevitable conclusion of your Zionist statement.
Zionism is a 19th century European idea and has all the racist problems of the era.

Zionism wasn’t the only {send them back where they come from} solution/ avoidance to deal with multicultural ethnic problems. Southern slave owners  saw the idea as an excellent way to deal with trouble some free blacks in their midst.  So they collaborated with do gooding Northerners to founded the  American Colonization Society
Thus we get Liberia with the oppression of an oligarchy of  the descendants of these immigrants over the indigenous tribes.
For some reason most 19th century ideas are bad.

Looking at the Dem nomination poll sit looks like all the top 3 candidates are losing a bit of support and that Booker and O’Rourke are gaining a bit, but are still barely within sight of the top three or even 4 although Kamala is trending quickly toward Buttigieg, although both of them are on the same slow downward trend as the top 3.   It may be just me, but I think that if Beto doesn’t knock it out of the park and get a big bump following the next debate he should cast his lot in the TX senate race and try to pull one seat back to the dem side.

If the Jewish community in the Israel / Palestine area are going to survive then they need to do what the White community in South Africa did, they are going to have to come to an  accommodation with their neighbors. Part of that accommodation will have to be the surrender of the concept of a Jewish religious state.  They can start working toward it now or they can wait until there is horrendous bloodshed, needless to say the terms will be much harsher for them.

Kamala has to score big in Iowa to convince black voters she can win in White America. If she can come in a strong second then she can  basically skip NH, let Bernie and Warren fight it out. The black vote with start moving toward her, she wins big in SC and like Obama she is on her way.
Jack

whskyjack

Craig is right about one thing, for Warren to win she needs to divide Biden’s support. Too many people are fighting it out on the left. This leaves Biden all by his lonesome. The safer thing for her is to promote one of the centrist, give them some help and they can pull votes from Biden. If she promote Kamala then  there is a big risk she ends up in worse shape.

Poobah, Harris’ post debate bump in late June was about 8 points in a couple of polls, more like 6 overall, and lasted about 6 weeks.  She is now where she was going into the 1st debate.  Only CNN and Quinnipiac had her above 15 points even then. Her last 15 point pol result was 7/9, and she was really in the 12 point or so range in most polls after that, dropping to where she is now.

I like Harris, but she is down around number 3 on the preferences.  Biden is lower.  The only thing I noted from the initial media push is the Bernie Bros came out in droves with the “super cop” and “slept her way to the top” memes.  They started with her, but are now attacking every one of  top five in the field.  Of course, he hasn’t said a word  to calm them down.  It is 2016 and may be Russians, bots, or just GOP activists.  In any case, it’s already ugly and the ugliest stepsister is Sanders.

“what about her did not resonate” ???
like Hillary, some are seeing her as more calculating or obfuscating and less than “authentic” whatever that means. Buttigieg, warren and klobuchar come across as clearer in their presentations, responses and interactions with ordinary folk.

sharper edge – maybe a meanness- in the way she and gillibrand speak compared to what comes across as more kindly with them.

Pogo

Poobah, patd might have something there.  I like Kamala, but Mrs. P doesn’t care for her – thinks she’s kind of a Cassius and doesn’t trust her.  I suspect Mrs. P is not unique in that regard.  Combine that with the skepticism some folks, especially the black community in CA, have of her prior law and order work as a prosecutor and top it off with the media’s fascination first with Buttigieg then Warren and it’s pretty easy to see how she might struggle to gain and hold the attention of a broader swath of voters. The one punch standing 8 count she delivered in the first debate may have been fun to a passel of folks, but it apparently didn’t have a lot of staying power when she didn’t come back in with at least some serious body blows in the second one.

The Jewish hope for a return to Zion is not European. It is shared by Jews from Aukland to Cape Town to Tierra del Fuego, and from Beijing to Perm to Nome. The majority of Jewish Israelis are descended from non-European Jews, and these came mostly from Muslim countries. The myth of the European Zionist invasion is mostly a myth, although there is some truth at the core. The myth also ignores the fact that Jews have lived continuously in what is now Israel for 3,700 years. Muhammad met them on his way to the Temple Mount.

That nasty gabbard person torpedoed Harris. I believe that I remarked here at the time that we’d just seen the Harris campaign sink. Or words to that effect. It was like watching a wildlife show, in which the orca takes a Harley Davidson-sized chunk out of the humpback whale.

Harris had a weak debate regardless of Gabbard’s challenge.  If you can’t take the heat, get off the stage.

…and Gabbard did nothing to Harris that Harris didn’t do to Biden in the debate before that.

(I’ll concede it’s difficult to have a strong showing in a debate when said stage is shared with 113 other candidates.)
