Pneumonia Tax Politics

screen_shot_2015-07-08_at_10-35-10_amDespite running two of the most famous candidates in history we know nothing about Trump’s personal finances (tax returns) and next to nothing about Hillary’s health (she had to stumble out of an event early for us to find out she had been diagnosed with pneumonia).

ny times: Hillary Clinton Has Pneumonia: What That Means
In the statement, Mrs. Clinton’s doctor did not identify the type of pneumonia the candidate has, but said she was prescribed antibiotics and advised to rest.
It can take as little as a week for a healthy young person to feel normal again, according to the lung association. But it can be weeks before a middle-age person fully regains strength. Older adults are also one group that is more likely to have complications in recovery.

cnn story re pneumonia ends with this report of all meds she’s on:
….Clinton remains on daily blood thinners, something her husband previously revealed. Clinton takes Coumadin, the brand name for the blood thinner warfarin. She also takes Armour Thyroid for her hypothyroidism, antihistamines and Vitamin B12.
Clinton has no known drug allergies, does not smoke, use tobacco products or illicit drugs and drinks occasionally, according to Bardack, who also details her exercise regime: yoga, swimming, walking and weight training.
Clinton is up to date on health tests, including a colonoscopy and a few other tests not often seen in a presidential candidate’s health disclosure: gynecologic exam, mammogram and breast ultrasound.
She received her most recent physical exam on March 21, 2015, according to the the statement. Her blood pressure was 100/65. Her heart rate was 72 and her EKG was normal. Her total cholesterol was 195, with an LDL (“bad cholesterol”) of 118, and an
HDL (“good cholesterol”) of 64 and triglycerides of 69.
“She is in excellent physical condition and fit to serve as President of the United States,” Bardack’s letter concludes.

do hope the docs review that combination of meds… sounds like they need a little adjustment.  plus a new prescription ordering rest and more rest… lest we forget what happened to jim henson

Do Half of Trump’s Supporters Really Belong in a “Basket of Deplorables”?

Yes.
By Jamelle Bouie

But “half” wasn’t wrong. “Half” wasn’t a gross generalization at all. “Half” was by all indications close to the truth.

When pollsters and researchers want to measure racial bias, they don’t ask if respondents are “racist”; the stigma of being a racist is strong enough that most people won’t answer honestly, to say nothing of the fact that racial prejudice exists on a continuum. A binary answer doesn’t capture the complexity of bias and bigotry. Instead, they ask proxy questions that try to capture attitudes associated with racism. One such question—asked in multiple surveys by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic polling firm—is whether respondents believe President Obama was born in the United States and whether they believe he’s a Muslim. These questions begin to scratch the surface of racial bias. And what are the results? In one survey, two-thirds of Republicans with a favorable opinion of Donald Trump said that Obama is a Muslim, and 59 percent said he wasn’t born in the United States.

Trump on Clinton’s health: ‘I hope she gets well soon’

By Nolan D. McCaskill

Donald Trump on Monday refused to speculate why Hillary Clinton’s campaign didn’t reveal her pneumonia diagnosis sooner but wished her well.
“I really just don’t know,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope she gets well soon. I don’t know what’s going on.”
Story Continued Below

“The GOP presidential nominee had previously attacked Clinton’s health, including a coughing fit she had during a campaign event in Ohio. On Monday, Trump again mentioned the coughing incident and suggested it may have been pneumonia.
“I see what I see. The coughing fit was a week ago, so I assume that was pneumonia also,” he says. “I mean, I would think it would have been. So something’s going on but I just hope she gets well and gets back on the trail and we’ll be seeing her at the debate.”
As for his own health, Trump said he recently had a physical examination and he’ll be releasing the results soon.
“I’ll be releasing, when the numbers come, hopefully they are going to be good, I think they are going to be good, I feel great, but when the numbers come in, I’ll be releasing very, very specific numbers,” he said.”

Please, big rotund asshole.. A 70 year old junk food junkie who with the campaigns money flies home to his own Penthouse and bed every night.. Doesn’t know what’s going on, yep, that i agree with but don’t think any of us should share any of his so called concerns about HRC’s health.. Advice from Trump on health, i’ll pass…

The real shame is how members of the press latch on the the secrecy crap. It is like they never tried to work through a cold to get the job done. A bunch of lite weights that take the day off at the first sign of a sniffle.

When they showed Clintons coughing fit the other day , it reminded me of the bronchitis I got this summer.

It started like  an allergy problem, the crud in the throat from sinus drainage. but quickly got worse. I was having long bouts of coughing first in the morning then  through out the day. Ate a bunch of cough drops The real problem with it was it came back after 4 weeks and I had to go to the doctor again.

Pneumonia will have an effect on the campaign. It takes 3 weeks to get over it. That is the real story that nobody is covering.

Jack, depends on whether it’s viral or bacterial pneumonia and whether it exists in healthy or compromised lungs.  Viral pneumonia can take weeks because nothing does any good against the germs so the body’s immune system has to fight it off.  Bacterial pneumonia can improve in a couple of days of antibiotics.  (My mom and father in law, both with COPD compromised lungs, had both, so I had to learn a bit about them)  There’s also aspiration pneumonia, but that doesn’t seem likely).  Don’t know what Hillary has, but if she felt well enough on Sunday to try and attend the 9/11 remembrance after seeing the doc and getting on antibiotics Friday, it’s probably bacterial.

Patd, re: trump not wanting to open the med records can of worms, yes.

Been through the Mycoplasm pneumonia a couple times.  My guess is they caught it early in her.  Last year I started showing signs of it in late May or early June.  I was finally down with it in late August and hospitalized.  A lot of anti-biotics were flowed into my veins over a week.  It took me well over a month to recover and I was only 65.  But, mine was a lot advanced because I did  not slow down and see my doc when I should have.  HRC looks good and will knock it out and sprint to November.

So when is the bloater going to release his medical information?  He is quiet about this, and that is not normal.  I cannot believe anyone has not started leaking drumpf information.  And it would not have to be hacked. That would be okay, but an old fashioned leak would be more fun.

Just going by Mrs Jack a couple of years ago.

Her team was finishing up a billion dollar bid proposal.

So instead of taking time off she worked(12 hr days) through her “cold” living on  over the counter meds.

By the time she got home  friday night late she was really sick, but she still insisted she could work her way through it. Monday I gave her a choice Go to her doctor or I would load her up and take her.

Her doctor loaded her up on antibiotics and steroids.  and she was in bed for 2 weeks.

Interesting thing the steroids have a side effect of making you hyper and she was taking codeine for her cough, which mellowed her out.

BTW she worked from bed, I made her a table to put her lap top on and she wrote a grant as a favor for a local neighborhood association that got them 15 thousand dollars.

Jack, yep, “pneumonia” is a lot of things – depending on the type (and we didn’t even talk about hospital acquired stuff – which is typically antibiotic resistant and is what kills folks more than community acquired brands of the stuff)  it strikes individuals differently.  I mentioned COPD because my mom and F-I-L had trouble shaking their various bouts of it because they both had insufficient expiration effort to help clear it because of their compromised lungs. their docs gave them expirometers to “exercise” their lungs because they both were relatively shallow breathers.

Andrea Mitchell talking with a Clinton campaign rep on her show today – god is that woman simple?  Can’t wrap her mind around the fact that the cough could be allergy related and not pneumonia related and the heat/dehydration episode unrelated to the coughing.  And she asked whether Clinton would let them (the press, or Andrea?  It was unclear) talk to Clinton’s doctor.  Do what?   The only appropriate answer is “No f_ing way”. They   were looping convo with one of the “protective” press pool, who was whining about not being told where HRC went yesterday until later in the day. Protective pool my ass – what the hell is that supposed to be?  And do they follow Donald home at night?  This borders on insanity.

pogo, about that “protective” press pool… newspeak at its best

Bloomberg: Clinton Health Scare Shows How Both Candidates Skirt Close Coverage
Neither Trump nor Clinton has agreed to an arrangement with the media known as a protective pool.
….

The incident points up one more way the 2016 presidential contest breaks precedent from recent campaigns. At this point in the election calendar, candidates from both parties have followed a protocol that employs what’s known as a protective pool, a small group of media representatives who move with the candidate. It’s the same system used for the president and ensures that any statement or event that potentially could affect the outcome of the campaign or outside situation is rapidly reported to the public.

But neither Clinton nor Republican nominee Donald Trump so far has agreed to that level of coverage. The Clinton campaign has said it’s open to instituting a protective pool but hasn’t indicated a time frame for putting one in place. She began traveling with a contingent from the media aboard her campaign plane last week. The Trump campaign plans “arrangements next week that will closely resemble a traditional pool to allow for additional access,” spokeswoman Hope Hicks said. But the journalists will not always fly on the same plane as Trump.

The protective pool typically includes reporters from three news services—Bloomberg, the Associated Press, and Reuters—as well as a journalist representing publications who sends reports to a wide distribution list; a TV producer; a TV camera operator; and several photographers.

the drumpf is probably hoping that Hillary will still be convalescing and not able to make the debate. he’s praying for it ’cause she’s getting all this time abed to study up.  in the meantime, it looks like he’s also plotting ways to wiggle out or at least really play down expectations.

from  usatoday: Donald Trump protests format for presidential debates

The Republican nominee said Monday he would prefer to debate Hillary Clinton without moderators because they and others are likely to “rig” the set-up against him.

“The fact is that they’re gaming the system, and I think, maybe, we should have no moderator,” Trump told CNBC. “Let Hillary and I sit there and just debate because I think the system is being rigged so it’s gonna be a very unfair debate, and I can see it happening right now because everyone’s saying that he was soft on Trump.”

In complaining about the format, Trump claimed that he “won” last week’s “Commander-In-Chief Forum” sponsored by NBC News, but commentators later criticized moderator Matt Lauer for asking tougher questions of Clinton than of Trump.

“Well now the new person’s gonna try to be really hard on Trump just to show, you know, the establishment what he can do,” Trump said. “So I think it’s very unfair what they’re doing.”

What will Hillary do to bounce off the bloated garbage of the bloater?  I think they made a start by releasing a lot of medical info.  Although it makes the floater look bad, he does not care.  Reach the voters is all that can be done.  The orange bloater is vulnerable, we just need to get out the voters.

KY Governor: A Hillary Win May Require The “Blood Of Patriots”

By MaureenMower

He encouraged the audience to fight in every possibly [sic] way so that they aren’t forced “to do it physically.” However, he argues that it may come to the shedding of blood.
“I will tell you this: I do think it would be possible, but at what price?” he said, after being asked if he thought America would survive Clinton. “At what price? The roots of the tree of liberty are watered by what? The blood, of who? The tyrants to be sure, but who else? The patriots.”
He continued wondering whose blood will be shed in this possible physical confrontation. “It may be that of those in this room. It might be that of our children and grandchildren. I have nine children. It breaks my heart to think that it might be their blood that is needed…”
