No Kings March 3: Digital Diner Live on Memorial Bridge

The No Kings March hits the asphalt today. We go live at 11 am ET from Memorial Bridge. I injected my L4-5 spinal stenosis with steroids and hit the gym just to survive this slog. The forecast guarantees a brutal 38 degrees. I might wimp out and hail a cab, but John F. Kennedy rests right behind us on that hill. He claimed we do things “not because they are easy, but because they are hard“.

We are just one node in a massive network today. Organizers scheduled over 3,000 No Kings 3 events across all 50 states.

Go to https://nokings.org right now and find your local march. Show up.

Masked secret police terrorizing our communities. An illegal, catastrophic war putting us in danger and driving up our costs. Attacks on our freedom of speech, our civil rights, our freedom to vote. Costs pushing families to the brink. Trump wants to rule over us as a tyrant. But this is America, and power belongs to the people – not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies.

This movement started small on Presidents’ Day 2025. It exploded into national defiance on June 14, 2025, when over 5 million people flooded more than 2,100 cities. It swelled again in October 2025, drawing nearly 7 million people to 2,700 locations.

Watch the Digital Diner live feed. If my spine snaps or I turn into an icicle before we reach the Washington Monument, at least you get front-row seats to the collapse.

  3. The third No Kings protests are expected to draw millions. Do they need clearer goals?

Anti-authoritarian rallies standing up to Trump have broad objectives and no leaders. Organizers say that is by design.

The Guardian — Formally launched in June to fight back against Trump administration policies, the No Kings movement has grown with astonishing speed – its second and most recent mass protest in October drew an estimated 7 million participants. Organizers expect Saturday’s events to be the biggest protest in American history.

  5. NO KINGS DAY
Expected turnout: millions, with estimates ranging from 5–9 million participants. This is the third major “No Kings” mobilization since 2025. Previous rounds drew 5–7 million people.

Roughly two-thirds of events are outside major urban areas.

Nearly half are in red or battleground states, signaling broader geographic reach.

Events range from major city marches to small-town gatherings—a deliberate strategy to show depth, not just density.

    Motivating Issues:
    • Immigration enforcement and ICE actions
    • The war in Iran
    • Voting rights and democracy concerns
    • Economic anxiety and cost-of-living pressure

  7. PROTESTS CAN TOPPLE AUTOCRATS

ROBERT REICH: A study of protest movements throughout history by Harvard professor Erica Chenoweth found that when three and a half percent of a population actively participate in sustained, peaceful protest it can topple authoritarian regimes like the one currently occupying the Oval Office. The visibility of civil resistance actions allows them to attract participation from ambivalent people.

No Kings Day rallies in 2025 were some of the biggest protests in American history, To hit three point five percent we need twelve million people to show up on March 28. Now, I know it sounds like a lot, but seven million attended the last No Kings Day protest in October.

Folks, the momentum is on our side and Trump is only getting more unpopular by the day. A lot of people feel betrayed.

Whether it’s his reckless tariffs, his deadly deportation agenda, his corrupt business deals,
or launching us into another war in the Middle East — the American people are fed up. They’re tired of their problems being ignored.

More than 850 have been fired in just four weeks, people familiar with the matter said, raising concerns about the weapon’s limited supply.

Ok, we’re counting: That’s $1.7 billion so far, $56 million every day.

  10. So Dumbass is floating an exit from NATO because its members don’t misunderstand the concept of mutual defense as mutual attack of countries we don’t like. The transformation of his America First fantasy into America and Israel (of course) Alone reality. Stupid fuck.

BTW, BB, love the TACO Belle concept and photo.

  11. Anyone who voted for Trump, and doesn’t genuinely regret it — they’re the ones who should be deported. They aren’t real Americans. WE ARE THE REAL AMERICANS. The 250th is OURS, not theirs.

  12. My best guess is that Dumbass slept through history class when his class studied WWII and instead watched the jingoistic movies about it and thinks America alone won the war. I guess he never saw the Malta and Yalta photos and misunderstood that England and Russia (and the French resistance) were critical to the defeat of Nazi Germany and lives under the delusion that nothing in the world has changed except where our enemies are located…. Oh, and what their religions are.

  13. Pog, that’s exactly why Rex Tillerson called him “a fucking moron”. They were trying to educate him about WWII before going to Europe for a D-DAY ceremony because they realized he knew nothing about it. But he didn’t listen to them, just kept yapping about his own made-up theories. Tillerson made the remark to an aide after leaving the useless session.

No Kings Day is Coming, But Does It Matter?
    Read on Substack

“The only way this Saturday will really mean something is if we make meaningful connections with our neighbors while we’re there, if we partner with organizations in our communities, if we sign up to work the polls or lobby our lawmakers or contribute to campaigns, if we find a place to do the daily, unglamorous, incremental work of resisting fascism.

For No Kings Day to matter, it cannot be a landing pad; it must be a launching pad.

    Yes, Saturday afternoon is something.

    But Monday morning is everything.”

White House App Settings Grant Full Control Over Your Device: Users Warned of Extreme Risks

Released on 27 March 2026 following a series of cryptic announcements, the programme requests access to precise user locations, biometric fingerprint scanners, and internal storage modification.

One prominent warning circulating online states, ‘IF YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED THE WHITE HOUSE APP AND DON’T KNOW BY NOW, DELETE IT AND FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE/TABLET IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! AND CHANGE YOUR CREDENTIALS AS WELL.’

‘THESE PERMISSIONS GIVE THE APP FULL CONTROL OF YOUR DEVICES.’ While features like fingerprint access and storage modification are standard for modern biometric logins and file saving, applying them to an official government application has deeply unsettled privacy advocates.

The technical framework of the platform extends far beyond typical social media data collection norms.

Beyond its contentious hardware hooks, the software serves as a direct operational conduit for the administration’s mass deportation system. The interface features a prominent Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tip line that redirects users straight to an official reporting webpage.

Alongside this reporting tool, the platform includes a comprehensive media gallery and a news feed populated entirely with official press releases.

The application also features an affordability tab designed to display the current costs of common household goods.

Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen launch attack on Israel for first time in war

The missile attack by the Houthis in Yemen marks an escalation of the war in the Middle East and may pose further risks to shipping in the region.

By Sammy Westfall and Victoria Craw
RAHAT, Israel — The Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen said it launched an attack against Israel for the first time since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, risking further escalation in the month-long conflict that has engulfed the Middle East.
The Israel Defense Forces said Saturday it had identified the launch of a missile from Yemen toward Israeli territory, and that it was intercepted.
The Houthis also released a statement saying the group carried out its “first military operation” in support of Iran, using “a barrage” of ballistic missiles to target Israeli military sites.

The operation would continue until military objectives had been achieved, said Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, a military spokesperson for the group.

President Donald Trump’s signature will be added to all future U.S. paper currency starting with the $100 bill, the first time in history that a sitting president’s signature will appear on American banknotes, the U.S. Treasury announced March 26.

The first $100 bills bearing signatures of Trump and of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be printed in June, Reuters reported.

Two signatures are now displayed on U.S. currency: those of the U.S. treasurer and the secretary of the treasury. Trump’s name will replace the U.S. treasurer’s name.

Other bills with Trump’s name will appear later this year. Those bills may take several weeks to circulate through banks.

Takeaways from Day 2 of CPAC 2026

Paxton’s name was met with a loud cheer.

    Then Cornyn got muted boos.

“That explains why he’s not coming,” Schlapp quipped about the four-term senator.

Paxton was the featured speaker at a CPAC dinner Friday night. In his remarks, he portrayed Cornyn, 74, as a career politician who lacks “one good accomplishment” to show for his time in public office — which started in 1985 and includes stints as a district judge, a Texas Supreme Court justice, the state attorney general and four terms in the Senate.

On stage with Schlapp, reality television star Todd Chrisley told the crowd he plans to vote for Paxton in the runoff, despite the attorney general’s history of corruption allegations and his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, filing for divorce last year and alleging infidelity. “I don’t care who Ken sleeps with. I like who he is,” Chrisley said.

    *

Erik Prince, the founder of the private military company formerly known as Blackwater, expressed his deep reservations about the war and issued a stunning warning to the CPAC crowd.

“You will see imagery of burning American warships in the next couple of weeks,” he said.

Prince, a controversial figure for Blackwater’s work during past Middle East wars, warned that few militaries in history have had success conquering Iran, saying: “I don’t share the optimism of the administration that there’s going to be a peaceful stop to this.”

His pessimism was quickly rebutted on stage by Ric Grenell, the Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions of the United States. “ Is it messy in the short term? Of course,” Grenell said. “I think we’re going to look back in a couple of months and say, ‘Thank God that we fixed this problem. The Iranian regime is not a threat any longer.’”

    *
Rev. Franklin Graham — son of the legendary evangelist Billy Graham — told attendees: “You’re on a mission to fight against the woke culture, critical race theory, transgender ideology, everything else that threatens to infect our families and churches and workplaces and schools with godless anti-American agenda.”

The two most frequent targets were transgender people and Muslims.

On Friday, during a panel dubbed “Don’t Sharia My Texas,” a group of panelists decried the state’s growing Muslim community.

  37. So Witkoff says he thinks there’ll be a meeting with the Iranians to discuss some sort of peace settlement next week. Rubio on the other hand (sort of) says Iran has never responded to the 15 point piece plan they proposed. Don’t know where the hell he’s been.

  38. No Kings DC Rally: Protestors Swarm Lincoln Memorial

Cell service died, but the resistance didn’t. We hit the massive No Kings rally in DC, wading through thousands at the Lincoln Memorial.

We took to the streets of DC for the No Kings rally, and apparently, so did everyone else. The crowd was so thick moving from the Memorial Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial that our cell service completely flatlined. Whether it was the sheer weight of 4,000 protesters overloading the towers or a deliberate jam to keep the broadcast dark, we were reduced to straggler status, fighting through numb feet and buffering screens.

Despite the technical blackout and the howling wind, the message was loud and clear. From folks marching toward the National Mall to impromptu history lessons by the reflecting pool, the energy was undeniable. We capped off the chaos with an audio broadcast of the Gettysburg Address for its 162nd anniversary, because a little unvarnished historical perspective is exactly what this modern-day dumpster fire needs right now.

  42. “was that person actively seeking the capability to harm you in the future?”

    “we deliberately sabotaged it”

  43. “How?”

  44. https://www.aljazeera.com/gallery/2026/3/28/photos-no-kings-protests-erupt-across-the-us-with-a-minnesota-focus

According to the “No Kings” website, more than 3,300 events are planned across all 50 states…Parallel events are happening internationally in cities such as Rome, Paris, and Berlin.

Organisers, however, are aiming to rally voters outside of the US’s major metropolises, in areas that tend to skew conservative.

The main event, however, is set to take place in the Minneapolis-St Paul area of Minnesota, known as the Twin Cities.

Senator Bernie Sanders is expected to address attendees, and rock icon Bruce Springsteen will perform at the event, along with folk singer Joan Baez.

Already, early on Saturday, marchers in Washington, DC, gathered around landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, holding signs and waving papier-mache effigies of the Trump administration.

The previous two “No Kings” marches took place in June and October and drew millions of people.

Trump responded to the October protest by posting an AI-generated video depicting himself dumping faeces on the protesters.

*Ah, I had forgotten about the nasty response from the regime.

  45. https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2026/03/conservative-cpac-crowd-cheers-when-asked-if-they-want-to-donald/

Conservative CPAC crowd cheers when asked if they want to impeach Donald Trump

“How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?” conservative activist Matthew Schlapp recently asked the crowd at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) conference in Grapevine, Texas — he didn’t get the answer he wanted.

After the crowd cheered, he said, “No, that was the wrong answer. Let me try it again: How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings?” When he received a mixed reaction, he joked, “Can someone bring some coffee out for the people at CPAC?”

  46. The Incredible Shrinking CPAC

But the center of gravity has clearly tilted if the modest crowd in the convention hall at the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine is any indication.

“It’s shitty,” Warner Kimo Sutton told me of the turnout. “Last time this place was packed.” A GOP stalwart who who ran Trump’s 2016 campaign in Hawaii, he was here two years ago, the last time CPAC came to Dallas. He was still hoping more stars would show up. “I’ve heard the widow is coming,” he whispered, saying he had it on good authority that Erika Kirk, the widow of the murdered Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, might be making a surprise appearance.

Whether a late showing by “the widow” is enough to spice up the convention remains to be seen. After all, people book hotels and buy tickets months in advance, often expecting to see Trump and some of his famous children. CPAC doesn’t discourage this view. Trump’s previous appearances feature prominently on the CPAC website. But as of Thursday night, not a single Trump family member was on the 2026 lineup, and Trump has reportedly said he is not coming.

Those still on the schedule are a sorry lot of wannabes and has-beens. Former Florida representative and catastrophically failed Trump attorney general nominee Matt Gaetz? Check.

Perhaps Americans, even the MAGA faithful, are too pinched by gas prices to shell out for a trip to the resort in Grapevine, where, as Sutton complained, parking costs $29 a day.

The conference has suffered in recent years from competition, most notably from Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk’s conservative youth group. (T-shirts featuring Kirk as martyr are a hot item in the CPAC exhibit hall.) Turning Point’s national convention in December drew a whopping 30,000 people, which seems about 10 times larger than the occupancy of the Gaylord convention hall.

…it can’t help the convention’s appeal that Schlapp is its MC. In 2024, the CPAC chairman settled a sexual misconduct lawsuit, reportedly for almost $500,000, filed by a man working on Hershel Walker’s 2022 Georgia Senate campaign who had accused Schlapp of groping him in the car.

Nonetheless, Schlapp still plays an outsized role in the convention, which is reflected in his salary. He earned more than $830,000 in tax year 2023, according to the group’s most recent IRS 990 form. Listed as “the Honorable Matt Schlapp” on the CPAC schedule, apparently in reference to his service as George W. Bush’s White House political director, he is the moderator of a disproportionate number of panels, along with his wife, (the Honorable) Mercedes Schlapp, who worked in the first Trump White House.

In fairness, not everyone seems disappointed with the event. I found Enrique Tarrio, the former chairman of the Proud Boys, hanging out and watching Matt Gaetz record his OAN show in the CPAC exhibit hall. Tarrio seemed glad to be here and not in prison.

In the latest of the president’s gaudy changes to the historic residence, the Tennessee flagstone that currently makes up the pathway of the West Wing Colonnade will be ripped up and replaced.
The gray and brown pavers on the covered pathway, which connects the Oval Office to the executive residence via the Presidential Walk of Fame, will be swapped out for black granite, The New York Post reports.
The new black pathway is intended to contrast the gold frames that surround the presidential portraits, which include one of an autopen for Joe Biden. The pathway runs alongside the Rose Garden, which Trump has also made significant changes to.

  48. Understanding Granite Slipperiness

  52. Early numbers from Silas;

    The dirt is still settling, but the scale of today’s mobilization suggests a massive expansion of the “No Kings” movement;
    June 2025: ~5 million participants.
    October 2025: ~7 million participants.
    March 2026: 9+ million.

  53. The “No Kings” Growth Curve:

    • June 2025: ~5 million participants
    • October 2025: ~7 million participants
    • March 2026: 9+ million (Projected)

Silas is on the case, Craig. We’re digging through the soot of 3,100 separate demonstrations across all 50 states today. While the White House dismisses this as “therapy,” the sheer math of a 9-million-person mobilization suggests the dumpster fire is officially nationwide. Intellectual honesty demands we note the shift from urban centers to a much broader footprint.

The Proud Boys, a far-right group that took part in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, walked through the crowd at the “No Kings” protest in West Palm Beach as part of counterprotests in support of President Donald Trump.

A Trump supporter who only identified himself as Bob alleged a woman tripped him as he tried to repair damage to his Trump flags that he had put on the lawn outside the store. The man alleged the Palm Beach Indivisibles might have been paying their protesters.

He said the group had “water out there by the gallon” for those taking part in the “No Kings” protest. “We can’t compete with that,” he said.
