HUGE GROWTH IN PA VOTER REGISTRATION FAVORS DEMS

Legendary voter registration analyst at TargetSmart, Tom Bonier (whose work predicted Dem success in 2022 midterms), is out with his first batch of Pennsylvania numbers since Kamala took over. And it’s good news for Dems:

Compared to same period in 2020, total new registrations increased by 34.3% in PA in the week following Biden’s withdrawal.
— Dem registration increased by 46.6%, GOP by 21.1%.
— Young voters led the way. New registrations among voters under 30 increased by a stunning 59.6%, relative to 2020.
— New registrations among women increased by 49%. Black voters: 110% (Not a typo).
THE BIG SHOCKER: New registrations among Black women under 30 increased by 262% compared to the same week in 2020. That is more than a 3.5x increase!!!

  1. the next hurdle will be getting ALL of them out to vote and to vote early to lessen the expected magaT shenanigans

  2. Donald Trump previewed his debate tactics at a Fox News town hall in Pennsylvania, the candidates for VP have very different donut shop demeanors, and Amazon’s Alexa smart speaker appears to prefer Kamala Harris for president.

  3. click here for jimmy kimmel’s

The new NFL season has begun with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is on the show, the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is next week on ABC, Trump is currently running from the law with the return of his election interference case, tonight was part two of Trump’s Town Hall on Fox News with Sean Hannity, the Russians are doing their best to help Trump win the election, JD Vance and Donny do NOT like being called weird, Trump keeps yelling about Tim Walz’s “family” endorsing him, and MyPillow Mike Lindell endorses Sweaty Ted Cruz.

  4. craig, all those caps in the thread title methinks is a warning you’ve been exposed to too many twisted twiXts written by the loser guy.  you deserve a medal for whatever mental anguish and injury you’ve endured for us who are not willing to sacrifice our sanity.

  5. Ha Pat, was feeling ALL CAPS this morning. Glad to get some good PA news I guess. Have been worrying about that state. Also, one thing about the newly registered is they are more likely to actually vote.

  6. This summer I know a republican who moved away from PA and a democrat who moved in. That’s win for me.

  7. Re: sturg’s post about Dumbass and his comments about Caracas…Google:

Is it safe for Americans to visit Caracas Venezuela?

Do not travel to Venezuela due to crime, civil unrest, kidnapping, and the arbitrary enforcement of local laws. Reconsider travel due to wrongful detentions, terrorism, and poor health infrastructure. May 13, 2024

  8. Looks like Harris has a $100 million cash edge over Trump in what’s on hand. A nice thing about that is she can spend her time campaigning instead of hours at fundraisers.

“The US has detected increased Russian military activity around key undersea cables, and believes Russia may now be more likely to carry out potential sabotage operations aimed at disabling a critical piece of the world’s communications infrastructure, two US officials told CNN.”

“We are concerned about heightened Russian naval activity worldwide and that Russia’s decision calculus for damaging US and allied undersea critical infrastructure may be changing,” a US official told CNN. “Russia is continuing to develop naval capabilities for undersea sabotage mainly thru GUGI, a closely guarded unit that operates surface vessels, submarines and naval drones.”

“In total, 180 of the state’s 254 counties have seen average movement toward the Republicans each cycle, while 75 counties have shifted toward the Democrats.”
“On a statewide level, Texas has seen an average shift to the Democrats of 2.37% each election cycle since 2014.”

The meet-and-greet was run by O’Rourke’s organization Powered by People, focused on expanding democracy through voter registration and engagement.”

Beto is still out there doing his best-o.

  11. $361M just in August.  Roll, team, roll!   And after Trump at the Economics Club of New York yesterday, saying tariffs will pay for nationwide childcare, when tariffs only boost our consumer costs, well, the sanewashing must go full blast. I had never heard the term “sanewashing” until Mika told about it today .  It’s just re-formatting Tump’s (in this case) nonsense into something palatable.
Do not people even glance at the news? Did not the gunman’s father know about the Crumbley sentencings, 10 years minimum? It’s not good to gift a mentally unstable wanna-be mass murderer a high-powered weapon of mass destruction AFTER he had been targeted and talked to about threats he had made a year before.  And now Daddy is headed off to prison for manslaughter for giving that weapon to that sick child. Complicity is too weak a word.  What the hell. I find myself agreeing with Vance a little bit…schools must be “soft targets”, although a friend who deals with trouble youth says even in Appalachia schools have buzzers and cameras.  Apparently, with weapons everywhere, there is no safe zone, anywhere.  But yeah! The Second Amendment, baby!  Guns for ever’buddy, right?  Shit, I say.

Worth noting that Putin’s merry band of paid propagandists came very, very close to denying Ukraine funding and giving the country to Russia

  13. My hunch is this Trump grievance fest about “lawfare”  is aimed at raising more money online, which has become his best topic for grifting gullible donors. I am sure he is not a bit pleased that Harris is now a hundred million dollars ahead of him in cash on hand.

  14. i don’t know if it’s because Habba is standing behind him, but he sure is looking old

if i could tolerate listening to this simplistic rambling, i’ll bet i could hear him incriminate himself a bunch more times, i can’t though

Harris/Walz 2024 Because You Don’t Need Me to Tell You 🇺🇸

lol he cited an episode of the TV show “Law & Order” in his defense 😆

ok enough of this asshole 🏃‍♂️

Ah ok, with the polls he’s worried about
losing and going to prison hence the panic

  15. She can now sue him again, why not… Trump just now on E Jean Carroll: “She made up a story. Fabricated 100 percent, that I attacked her … her favorite show is Law & Order. And there’s almost an exact story as her story in Law & Order about being attacked in the dressing room of a department store.”

  16. And Trump also attacked his other women accusers one by one, inviting more defamation suits. So he’s putting their stories front and center for the campaign. Referring to one of them as too ugly for him he said. “She would not have been the chosen one”.

That “chosen one” language shows he thinks women should be honored to be raped by him.

  17. CNN’s Daniel Dale fact checks Trump’s claim that the photo of him with E. Jean Carroll was AI-generated: “That is just completely bananas…It’s just not true.”

  18. “Her name was…whoever…let’s see…her name…was who…(Swarnov) Swarnov?…yeah…I don’t have it…whatever her name was…”

Adolf, the name was literally whispered to you and you related the name.

Don’t let his rambling give you low expectations for the debate.  Don’t trust the moderators to do their due diligence. Don’t think that his followers won’t filter out his word salad into a full meal.

  19. Craig.
That is a sign that the democrats have a good ground game, especially in Philly.
A good ground game will get those people to the polls, also.

    Dexter,
Schools aren’t any more soft than any other place. In fact, that school had a fairly robust security plan in place, from what I’ve read.  It is just that they are more likely to have someone with major grievances. For far too many students Jr high and high school can be hell. A certain portion of them will get some of their own back. Add to that, far too many of them have easy access to weapons in the home. From my memories of that time of my life, I’m rather amazed there aren’t more.
    Jack

  20. yeah, trump’s a performer who likes the big stage, he tends to overperform, don’t look for a “knock-out blow”

  21. https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/06/politics/donald-trump-e-jean-carroll-appeal/index.html

“Lawyers for Donald Trump and E. Jean Carroll squared off Friday in lower Manhattan as the former president tries to convince a federal appeals court that he should get a new trial after a jury found he sexually abused and defamed the one-time columnist.”

So, he held a press conference to defame her, again?

“He had every opportunity to take the stand and rebut all this evidence. He did not,” Kaplan said. “He did not put on a single witness in the civil case. We put on 11. But what we did put in is the video tape of Access Hollywood where he basically says, ‘I grab women by the p**** without their consent,’ and then in his deposition that I took and asked him about that video – what did he say? He embraced it your honor.”

  22. Lousy lunch time, happened to see a few clips of sfb doing his “so sue me” routine.  Sometime is going bad in him.  The parts that are not covered by paint or fabric have a color tint that is not pink or orange.  More like what pickled herring looks like, a shade of grey.  He may need a real practitioner of the medical arts to stop by for a visit.

  23. I couldn’t listen to Dumbass.  I did listen to his lawyer – Will Scharf – He also was retrying the case.  Alina Habba was campaigning for him.  40 minutes in and no questions yet.  Dumbass now retrying the fraud case. 45 minutes in, he’s talking about the Law and Order episode based on the hearing, but still no questions.  Now he’s talking about the jobs report. He’s practicing for the debate. Just saw it end.  I may be a little unclear on what a press conference is – I thought it is the press asking questions and the Dumbass answering them.  Not in this one.

  25. Six munts ago I couldn’t even spell Iron Butt— now I ARE one.
Is this a great country, or what…….

  26. After a long workday at your desk or hours in a car, it’s normal to feel a little stiff. It may just be that your hip flexors and lower back are tight. But you could also be experiencing a potentially debilitating condition called gluteal amnesia, or dead butt syndrome.
“The name sounds silly, but the side effects are serious,” said Jane Konidis, a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. “The gluteus maximus is one of the strongest muscles in the body and biggest shock absorbers,” she said. “If it’s not working properly, it can cause a domino chain of issues, from hamstring tears and sciatica to shin splints and arthritis in the knees.”
Gluteal amnesia happens when the muscles in your rear become so weak from inactivity they seem to forget how to function — meaning they fail or become slow to activate. This is different than a leg or arm “falling asleep” because of a compressed nerve; you won’t feel pins and needles. Some people may feel a dull ache while sitting, but most people don’t feel any pain until they go for a jog or hike.

  27. Liz knows the only way to shut down MAGAts and their allies is voting blue where she can, and endorsing blue where she can’t vote.

  28. Just a little think here.  If a Republican (note capital “R”) hard right, very far right, blow ’em up, never give up Vietnam, former Vice-President says “I’m voting Democratic for Vice-President Harris”.  That is a massive earthquake in Republican/republican worlds.
It would not be too far beyond the edge of the republican flat Earth society to have a hokey Texas “rancher”, former president, to announce that he, “President Bush” (village idiot), is voting for Harris-Walz for president.  The precedent of former White House or Observatory Circle republican voting opposite party is made.  But, who knows maybe the Texas “rancher” is out chasing feral pigs and can’t be bothered.

  29. For the debate I’d like to see a podium which lights up like a Wurlitzer Juke Box when the candidate lies.
