.@CocaColaCo issued a new statement saying they support reforms that "maximize voter participation" & "serve all Georgians."

If Coke was truly looking for opportunities to protect the vote, they would've opposed #SB202, and other GOP-backed bills, from the get-go. #gapol https://t.co/6hF9TTNNtn pic.twitter.com/1nXsDHy2WT

We choose to fight for America, and we will not lose.
beto at the front in the tweet wars with the gunboat GOPers
from the hill:
on other fronts
seth speaks of certain GOPers and “their solemn right to be dicks to everyone around them”
Seth takes a closer look at Sen. Ted Cruz refusing to wear a mask when talking to reporters and President Biden holding his first press conference as president.
In other boycott news, the Major League Baseball All Star Game is scheduled to be played in Atlanta this summer. That is another thing that can also be taken away from the state of Georgia.
ted, those reporters asking you to wear a mask were being unusually nice – most folks want a paper bag with eye holes.
corey, yes! and as suggested yesterday the april masters tournment in augusta would be a good place to start packing up and bugging out.
Good point, Corey! The GQP will argue that canceling events will hurt folks who depend on working those events, but it’s the folks making the big bucks who will be screaming. Ad revenue from TV, too. Ouch.
Any arenas/ballparks around the country carrying Coke products should consider changing their beverage concession in solidarity.
Other companies might want to jump on this (marketing) opening and become very vocal in voter rights.
Georgia on my mind….

Voter suppression is a virus
Noel Casler:
It’s strange to see all these tweets asking a company that is the worlds largest polluter and that once marketed itself exclusively to whites to do the right thing. I won’t hold my breath.

They need to put pressure on The Masters to say something, starts April 8
Tiger probably had to go in the back gate.
why pulling the masters would make quite a statement given its history.
an old salon article from 2013 noted this about the national:
MLB players union discussing whether Georgia should lose All Stars game.. https://t.co/hyZDQN2Pb4
”Georgian voters saved Democracy twice in one year, but let’s randomly punish them economically to spite the GOP.”
^still bizarre logic
Sorry, black people in Georgia who might suffer financially , my zero-cost internet protests are more important than your livelihoods
That’s the exact argument Republicans will make. They are hiding behind the very people whose votes they are trying to suppress. Actually, boycotts will hurt the top in a way that will get their attention. It’s the only avenue to counter the scourge on democracy that is the white supremacist, Republican Party.
So we’re advocating corporate supremacy over the electoral and legislative processes now while simultaneously claiming we support democracy? What-in-the-actual-fuck??
After reading the news, today, you all are going to have to “boycott” so many states! Please make sure you diligently source everything you buy, checking political affiliation of the owners of every business along the supply chain, you know, so you get into heaven
Remember the remark made about Tiger Woods the year he won the Masters?
1997 — Fuzzy Zoeller
Fuzzy Zoeller‘s comments are probably the most infamous of all. As Woods was rolling to his monumental win at the 1997 Masters, Zoeller, in a post-final round interview, had some interesting remarks about the 21-year-old.
“He’s doing quite well, pretty impressive. That little boy is driving well and he’s putting well. He’s doing everything it takes to win. So, you know what you guys do when he gets in here? You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it. Or collard greens or whatever the hell they serve.”
Marvel, owned by Disney, films the majority of their projects in Georgia. Time to go elsewhere. Be a hero against voter suppression!
Perfect is the enemy of good. It’s a damned sight better than doing nothing.
The sound of money walking away is an attention-getter.
Bink, Georgia corps run the state like almost no other. They can get these laws wiped out with a few phone calls.
Don’t forget to boycott CNN
Mmm, there’s a rye whiskey on this list- i will try it!
https://www.pulpmagazine.net/post/10-black-owned-businesses-to-support-in-georgia
Ooh, i found another business on this list i will definitely patronize:

well, that was fast.
golfweek:
meanwhile, the post mortem starts
the way we americans failed to defend our country by selfishly refusing to wear masks and save over 500,000 lives in one year will be studied not only by social scientists but by our enemies.
how to successfully wage war against and destabilize the world’s leading military and richest nation without costing a dime or death 101
There’s a nice tidy little video out there of a very close-up of Birx’s face as the moron is delivering the shoot-up-with-bleach and the insert-the-light routine………it’s very very painful to see what’s going on with her face.
https://www.sacurrent.com/the-daily/archives/2021/03/25/white-republicans-are-refusing-to-get-the-covid-19-vaccine-more-than-any-other-demographic-group-in-texas
“In Texas, 61% of white Republicans, and 59% of all Republicans regardless of race, either said they are reluctant to get the vaccine or would refuse it outright, according to the February University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll. That’s not an insignificant portion of the state’s population — over 52% of the state’s ballots in November were cast for former President Donald Trump.“
Yet, this Dem can’t find a vaccine anywhere near me.
i just searched- Walgreen’s has appointments available now in Houston area
put my zip code into that site it says- “fuck off for at least 5 days” btw
(gotta be quick, snag a spot!)
BiD, are you near a Kroger? their pharmacies are now doing the vaccine gig. i saw a list of them in dallas area with available shots. have you called nearby walgreens, riteaid, cvs drug stores? maybe call a neighborhood church or charity group that’s doing the mobile units to shut-ins?
Gabriels “Love and Hate in a Different Time” The entire album is really good. Interesting video; watch to the end.
Yep, I’ve signed up for the “notify me” texts. It’s just this area that is lacking which is, I assume, why my doctor can’t even get vaccine. I bothered him, again, on Friday.
Oh, I’m not a shut-in, I’m a shun-piker. I was not made to live in urban sprawl, but in a walkable/bikeable place like NYC.
Happy Passover to those here who may observe.

One could, perhaps, fly to Alaska to get a vaccine. I just need to cool my jets and wait it out. I guess fewer Republicans ahead of me in line is a good thing.
