  2. D’ump’s not gonna like people hearing that mitch was/is ordering him around.  surely calls for a very nasty tweet of two.

    the hill:

Josh Holmes, former chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), said in a new documentary that the Republican leader urged President Trump to nominate Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on the night Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.
Holmes, who previously served as chief of staff to McConnell from 2010 to 2013, made the comments in a new “Frontline” documentary premiering Tuesday. The project, dubbed “Supreme Revenge: Battle for the Court,” will look at how the nation’s highest court has transformed over the years.
According to an excerpt from the documentary, McConnell contacted Trump shortly after Ginsburg’s death on Friday, Sept. 18.
“McConnell told [Trump] two things,” Holmes said. “McConnell said, ‘First, I’m going to put out a statement that says we’re going to fill the vacancy.’ Second, he said, ‘You’ve gotta nominate Amy Coney Barrett.’”

  3. since a new congresswoman along with  one of the candidates in the GA run-off and a current U.S. Sen are supporters of q-anon, maybe we should  find out just what it is and what impact it might have on the rest of the GOPers

  4. A kind Trumpistani with a bushy beard like yours gave me a jump, this morning, Mr. C- (i asked politely) which led me to thinking, you could go deep undercover and blow the lid off the whole Trumpistani underground.

    Go with God, good Sir👋💪🇺🇸

  5. …the whole time i was thinking, “i sure hope this dude doesn’t smell the ‘Biden’ on me”.

Well, he did and he still helped, because half of these hard-asses are big racist softies🐻

  6. I’ve got the same  stove only 5 year older. Good news the oven works great. On mine the central burner doesn’t work well, too big a burner for the gas supply.  So it is just a decoration to draw the attention and money of us wannabe chef types. Maybe they fixed it on newer models.

  7. Craig
What I did with the space is put a ceramic dish that is 15 inched long and 5 wide in that space and put my spoons, spatulas, hamburger press, pot lids ect on it. I think it was hand made by a friend of Mrs Jack and was intended to be decorative but it works great for my purposes.

  8. craig, if not pancakes, use it for ruebens, panini, bacon, and other goodies for which one needs a large flat fry pan.   or if it can work on real real low, makes for a good warmer.

  9. haven’t tried out the middle burner yet, Jack. hopefully they did fix that. wanted to buy American but consumer reports raved about this one.

i like the warmer idea, Pat. thanks

  10. lotsa luck but don’t hold your breath

    KTSM el paso:

The City of El Paso is taking further steps in attempts of collecting over half a million dollars that’s owed by the Trump campaign from a rally that took place almost two years ago.

It’s almost the end of November and with obstacles throughout the year due to COVID-19, the City has been waiting since February of last year on money that’s been owed from the Trump campaign.

“We all are seeing firsthand the struggles that everyday El Paso families have in addition to the challenges that we have in our own budget,” City Rep. Peter Svarzbein said during Tuesday’s council meeting, “So this amount of money is not inconsequential and also the message that we send that nobody is above the law is also an important one for our community to understand as well.”

Here’s a breakdown of the costs:

“The Trump campaign is likely to face a large amount of debt from the election,” City Attorney Karla Nieman said.

On Monday, City Council unanimously approved of hiring outside legal counsel, the Law Office of Snapper L. Carr, “We believe that based on the research and the information that we’ve gathered through the city attorney’s office and the comptrollers office is the best course of action is to ask Mr. Carr to assist us in collecting the debt,” Nieman explained.

City staff said taxpayers would not be impacted by hiring outside legal counsel and clarified that Mr. Carr is being hired on a contingency which means he only gets paid if he collects.

According to the Texas Tribune, the City previously considered suing the campaign earlier this year however decided not to. As for now, that decision remains the same.

“It does not necessarily mean that the City will be filing a lawsuit, but that we will be using various methods to attempt to collect the debt owed to the city of El Paso,” Nieman said.

    the hill:

A Trump campaign official told The Hill in April that it isn’t responsible for city contracts focused on police services.

“It is the U.S. Secret Service, not the campaign, which coordinates with local law enforcement,” the official said. “The campaign itself does not contract with local governments for police involvement. All billing inquiries should go to the Secret Service.”

  12. AOC’s smackdown of  Nikki Hayley is an appropriate discussion for empty Thanksgiving tables.  People and food.

  13. Last night’s genealogy show on PBS was about Larry David & Bernie.  They’re cousins.  (Well, we’re all distant cousins, but that explains the great impression on SNL.)

  14. Nice oven, Craig….  I can almost smell all the wonderful concoctions you’re gonna make with it!

Yeah…  one thing this isolating for Covid has done is make us (and I’m sure many others) take a good hard look at what really matters in our life.  It’s amazing how many things we’ve been doing for years just because we’ve done them for years.  It’s also amazing how easy it really is to realize we won’t be going back to that…   don’t need (or want) it anymore.
So yeah…  we have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

  15. Snapper L. Carr – now that’s a great name for a collection lawyer.

Poobah, we’ve got that same configuration on our stove and the only time we’ve used the middle burner is Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Best use I’ve found for it is to stick the roasting pan on it after the turkey’s done to make gravy.  We’ve made pancakes on it once I think, back when LP was shorter than me, but that’s been years.  In 17 years I bet we’ve used that middle burner less than a dozen times.  I think the last time I used it, or tried to, it didn’t light or wasn’t even – probably olive oil in the jets – we use a lot of it on the adjacent burners.

  19. For a laugh, and it was a real good laugh, I turned the cable channel to the Russian channel, “o” something.  It was hilarious listening to people who could figure out how voting works.  There were second hand reports of “observers’ not being allowed to hold and compare signature on an envelope to the voter poll lists and who they voted for.  The idiots somehow cannot comprehend secret ballot.  Others were not able to figure out which side of the ballot to run through a scanner, duh.  Others were in tears because they voted for Biden and were too stupid to understand that they could have requested a replacement ballot, before it was scanned in.  I do believe some of them were honest in their issues but are being led down the streaming hair dye path to nothing.  It is nice to hear them saying they will not “certify” the results, which for some reason were certified and closed yesterday.

  20. Trump just tweeted: It is my Great Honor to announce that General Michael T. Flynn has been granted a Full Pardon. Congratulations to @GenFlynn and his wonderful family, I know you will now have a truly fantastic Thanksgiving!
