Projection

From a Trump campaign fundraising email: “Kamala Harris is the meanest, most horrible, most disgraceful of anyone in the U.S. Senate…”

——–

Trump on Kamala Harris: “Nasty Woman.”
Trump on Hillary Clinton: “Nasty Woman.”
Trump on Nancy Pelosi: “Nasty Woman.”

Trump on Ghislaine Maxwell: “I wish her well.”

  1. projection = attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another

    yep, good thread title

  2. ?hope? from the hill :

A new election model released by FiveThirtyEight gives presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden a 71 percent chance of winning the White House, compared to 29 percent for President Trump.
The analysis gives Trump a greater chance at reelection than other current models.
For example, The Economist’s forecast gives Trump only a 10 percent chance of victory at this time.
The FiveThirtyEight model starts off with Biden as a heavy favorite largely because of his lead in the polls.
Biden leads Trump nationally by 8 points in the FiveThirtyEight model, down from 9.6 points one month ago. Biden has clear leads in the polling averages in five of the six core battleground states of Florida (5.2 points), Wisconsin (6.2 points), Michigan (7.4 points), Pennsylvania (6.3 points) and Arizona (3.4 points).
Biden leads by 1.4 points or less in North Carolina and Ohio. Trump leads by 1.5 points or less in Georgia, Texas and Iowa.
    […]
Biden’s calculated chance of victory is exactly the same as FiveThirtyEight reported Election Day in 2016, when the news source said that Democrat Hillary Clintonhad a 71 percent chance of winning.
    […]
“The uncertainty in our current 2020 forecast, conversely, stems mostly from the fact that there’s still a long way to go until the election,” Silver wrote. “Take what happens if we lie to our model and tell it that the election is going to be held today. It spits out that Biden has a 93 percent chance of winning. In other words, a Trump victory would require a much bigger polling error than what we saw in 2016.”

  3. But, but, 99.95% of fatilities …. of fatilities are adults. Ok, does that explain SFB’s inability to READ the word fatalities, given two attempts. I guess that particularly difficult word wasn’t on the test he aced.

  4. Strangest idiocy spotted in the greedy old perverts social media toilet – is Harris “legally” Black?  Are they looking for one drop or one quarter?

  5. Well I guess wee can call it a lost summer. Reported new deaths have risen back to the levels we were seeing in May at 1300+ per day, twice what was being reported in early July of around 650. Stupidity is the cause.

  6. pogo, “stupidity”?  also  throw in a touch of evil, malice, selfishness and uncaring

  7. Craig
Your piece says it all! Kamila, Hillary, and Nancy are “nasty” Yet Trump wishes an alleged child trafficker well. The orange monster must go.

  8. BB, he’ll no doubt also question her “legality” saying she was an anchor baby or that her birthplace oakland CA is not really in america.

  9. Stupidity.  A group of church acquaintances still gathering for lunch, etc., on a weekly basis.  Now, they want to start dance lessons.   Idiots.  School friends invited me out of state in a couple of months.  No, I’m a Democrat and I know enough to stay home during a pandemic.
I will know fewer folks when this is over.  By choice.  Not necessarily from COVID, but by choice.

I hope folks get George Conway’s sarcasm and don’t take it as an endorsement of SFB.

Harris is too tough, but not tough enough.  She’s black, but not black enough.   Gee, it sounds like she is everything to everybody.   That “nasty” crap might work with old, white, racist, Republican men (and racist, white women), but it won’t work with anyone else.   Just as the virus has made clear all of things wrong in our society, so has SFB put a spotlight on the dirty, underbelly of  Republicans.

If you want social and economic fairness, vote Biden/Harris.

  10. shades of john edwards!  today’s primper-in-chief according to the guardian:

“My hair … I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect”

The US president’s hair-washing complaints on Wednesday prompted the government to propose an easing of shower pressure standards.
The Trump administration proposed rule changes that would allow shower heads to boost water pressure, after Donald Trump repeatedly complained that bathroom fixtures do not work to his liking.
The Department of Energy plan followed comments from Trump last month at a White House event on rolling back regulations. He said he believed water does not come out fast enough from fixtures.
“So what do you do? You just stand there longer or you take a shower longer? Because my hair – I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect,” he said.

  11. I missed it, but understand the Great Orange freaked out on Fox last and took a ride on the windmills.  Any news there?

  12. For this Biden-won’t-be-on-the-ticket theory to be floating around now means the gop has some kind of super derogatoriness they plan to drop at what they hope is a most opportune moment.
Then this theory will charge into the breach.

  13. huffpo:

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on Wednesday night claimed that “something” will happen to former Vice President Joe Biden between now and Election Day and that he would not be on the Democratic ticket as a result.
Pirro was asked about a poll from right-wing outlet Rasmussen that found more than half believe Biden would not finish his first term if elected.
“For some reason, I just have this feeling that Joe Biden isn’t going to be on the ticket,” she said, adding:
“I have a sense that something’s going to happen before the election, and he’s not even going to be on the ticket, so don’t even ask me if he’s going to make the four years.”
“>She did not offer details on the “something” that could happen to Biden, but at least some of the others on “The Five” moved to correct her.
    […]
Pirro tried to walk back her comments. She didn’t detail the “something” that would happen to Biden but tried to blame the Democratic Party for it in advance.
“>“Look, I wish him all good health, that’s not what I’m talking about,” she said. “But things are so crazy right now. I don’t know what’s happening in the Democrat Party, and that’s all I’m saying. I mean I hope he lives forever, that’s not my point. And I know he’s got the numbers.”

  14. secret service should call judge jeanine in to grill her on her sources as it sounds more like a physical rather than political threat is afoot.  or she’s trying to instigate one.

  16. msn news glimpse at the future 2nd laddie :

He recalled “freaking out” while waving to the crowd at Harris’ announcement for her White House run in January 2019.
“It’s like, holy ‘F’,” he said. “We thought there’d be 5,000 people there” — but more than 20,000 attended the event in Oakland, Calif., her campaign estimated.
Later in 2019, during a stop in Flint, Michigan — a visit where Emhoff quietly met with community leaders about the city’s water crisis — that he was deeply moved. “That was probably the most impactful thing I ever did. It just stuck with me,” he has said.
At the same time, Emhoff also created a fun persona on social media throughout his wife’s presidential campaign. He frequently posted photos of himself in campaign gear and, memorably, a video of him dancing at San Francisco Pride, in 2019, to help boost fundraising.
Emhoff made headlines, and earned wide praise, during her campaign for fiercely defending his wife from attacks — both physical and virtual.
In June 2019, a man rushed a stage at a forum where Harris was speaking and grabbed the microphone from her hand. One of the several people who confronted the intruder and helped drag him off the stage was Emhoff.
The angry expression on his face that emerged as he jumped into the fray made waves on Twitter.
“I love ⁦@KamalaHarris⁩ and would do anything for her,” he tweeted later.

  17. ‘course his great rescue came after a very petite karine jean-pierre first did some blocking on her own.  i think doug was the hunk in the black suit & tee with yellow logo seen later in the melee.

  18. The trolls are going wild at Wapo in response to Jennifer Rubin’s op-ed this morning.  My take – Kamala’s scared shit out of them.

  19. I believe the 1st time I saw the ‘Joe won’t remain on the ticket’ baloney was a week ago in an article on russian noose outlet blog gateway pundit

  20. So the August surprise is that Israel-UAE will enter into a peace agreement conditioned on Israel dropping its plans to annex Palestinian territory.  That’s good news.

  21. I took a look back to August of 2016 of TrailMix.CC.  Optimism was high for HRC.  There was a lot of derision of the imbecile and idiot, SFB.  What I was looking for in particular was how many Trail Bosses there were.  Craig makes anyone who writes a post a Trail Boss, so it is worth writing something to get you ahead of the back view of a horse or cow.  Writing something of interest is good.  In 2016 I wrote one about ham hocks (yum), you can write one about butterflies or the color brown.  Have fun with this opportunity to get an international audience for your creative talents.

2016 had eight Trail Bosses.  2020 currently has twenty Trail Bosses.

  22. Joe Biden will be a great POTUS, however, folks will vote for anyone on the Dem ticket.  Orange Julius must go away. So, floating the idea that Biden won’t be at the top does the nogoodnics in the Republican/Russian/racist party no good.    Republicans are toast across the board.

  23. Sturg – Thanks for posting.  I miss KO.  I miss Baseball Saturday.  If someone in programming was smart, they would re-air the game that showed the history of televised baseball over the decades.  (Just thinking about it makes me want my smoked almonds.)

This fall, I hope they will just replay great, college football games on Saturdays.  I’m not even curious as to what a live, college game would look like.  I would be thinking about COVID and, quite frankly, I would feel that my viewership was part of the problem.

It costs nothing to produce re-runs, so unless there is a licensing fee to re-broadcast them, the networks should come out OK.  Plus, we’re kind of a captive audience.

  24. Ok, now they’ve done it.
    They’ve held up my popcorn.
    The gloves are off.

  25. this will  probably elicit an anti-scotus tweet or two from you know who

    wapo:

The Supreme Court on Thursday rebuffed the Republican Party and allowed a consent decree to go forward so that Rhode Island voters during the coronavirus pandemic could cast mail-in ballots without in-person witness verification.
It was the first time the justices had agreed to a pandemic-related voter relief effort. But they explained in a short, unsigned order that state officials had agreed to relax the rules, and the change already had been implemented during the June primary.

  26. He’s trying to put Hallmark Christmas Cards out of business.
    War on Christmas 🎄

  27. sturge, you’re right.  war on christmas.
tRump is against letters to santa claus.  no packages for you, kids.  no christmas cards with family photos for you, granny.

and none of those free franking (or is that f**king) political mailouts for you, GOPer congress critters!

  28. Some times I think the people making these anti Trump videos are having too much fun.
The best way to attack Trump, laugh at him.

  29. wapo:

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), are in Biden’s home state of Delaware, where they will receive a briefing on the coronavirus pandemic and deliver remarks to reporters Thursday afternoon.
The event comes one day after the United States reported its highest number of deaths from the coronavirus in a single day since mid-May.

  30. Nobody can do anything about his decision to rig the election.  Even if the Supremes said stop it, the barr criminal office will not enforce it.

  31. Joe Biden Slams Trump on Cutting Post Office Over Mail-In Voting: ‘He Doesn’t Want an Election’

“President Trump today said that he opposes funding for the Postal Service, tying it to mail-in voting. What do you think about that?” Saenz asked.
“Pure Trump,” Biden said, as a staffer tried to hustle reporters from the room.
“He doesn’t want an election,” Biden added, before the press left so he and Harris could be briefed. Both are scheduled to deliver remarks following the briefing, at around 2 p.m.

  32. Totally off topic and away from politics.  One of my favorite Science Fiction writers is Spider Robinson.  It has been a while since I visited his blog, so stopped by today to find as usual that he is still a kindred (wild brained) spirit.  It seems he was also in a mood for Duke Ellington

    42. Music for angry timesBlack Brown and Beige

I just got my hands on a 2018 cd titled BLACK, BROWN & BEIGE, and I have to shout about it.

It was composed by Duke Ellington in 1943, specifically for his first Carnegie Hall appearance.  Among those present in the house on that occasion were the First Lady of The United States, Eleanor Roosevelt, conductor Leopold Stokowski, soprano Marian Anderson, and poet Langston Hughes.  On the cd under discussion, it is performed in 2018 by the superb 20-piece Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra under the direction of Wynton Marsalis.

As Chris Crenshaw’s liner notes say, “….it was his most ambitious and longest work, possessing an architecture and complexity far beyond anything he had written.  Though [other pieces] were well-crafted and further distinguished him from other composers, musicians & critics encouraged him toward the less-ambitious format of the 3-minute record.  Black, Brown & Beige, however, was decidedly different.  It was written to address Ellington’s most serious concern: the impact and ascendant trajectory of the American Negro experience.”

I am listening to the cd on excellent speakers as I type this, and I have to say I wish with all my factory-rebuilt heart that I had the magic power to play it for every angry black person and every paranoid white person in North America today.

I would happily help crowdfund that.  Forty-nine minutes isn’t a lot to ask, is it?  I believe it could really help.  Duke hoped so.  Hoped hard.  He was a very hopeful cat.  Worth a try, he figured.

Again I quote the liner notes by conductor/trombonist Chris Crenshaw:

“There are so many great moments of superior penmanship displayed in this piece that one must listen again and again. At each listening, you will find some new melody, rhythm, or relationship.  Its revelations are endless.”

    What he said.

I don’t know about you.  Me, these

  33.  Ms Pat, I’ve shared yours of 3:03 with a few hundred people – so far. I title it, trump’s War Against the USPS, Our Troops, and Christmas – PASS IT ON
Among the recipients are my Governor, two Senators, and Congress woman.
I hope WE can all pass it on.

    THANK YOU !

  34. Mr Tony,
Yup, I hope he’s been 86’d for life. harris and the entire puguglican party.

  35. First they came for the Big Macs and I said nothing because I was more of a Filet-O-Fish kinda guy.– Employee Of The Month

  36. Jamie,
The number climbs and even if you take away the incentive recordings it is still very sad.

Thank you that Biden was not POTUS as this number would have been so much worse with Biden’s weakness and delay to act.  Thank you President Donald Trump for taking aggressive action to shut down the source of the China Virus and the rebounds from Europe.  Remember what Sleepy, follow the leader, Biden said about President Donald Trumps aggressive action and the negative comments by Sleepy, Follow others, Biden. Many say Millions Would Have Died Under Sleepy, Follow the Leader, Biden.

One is to Many – Ask – Why did China Lie?  Why did the W.H.O. delay and not provide leadership?  And by the way the data supports the significant failure of the W.H.O. with delays and pandering to China, the source.

  37. And Kamala ScareUs was a major let down today.  That is not leadership that she tried to save Sleepy, Follow someone else, Biden.  Kamalalala you are much better then …. Oh maybe not.  You have really moved to far left.  You are not a valid news cycle….
Thank you Donald Trump,  Peace is closer in the Middle East as it is moving closer based on your TRUE LEADERSHIP!!

Biden – Let me send MONEY to Terrorist that Kill Americans?

  38. Very IMPORTANT-
Remove NY and NJ, along with other Dem run states, still sad, but the death rate is much lower!!!!
    FACT

  39. No PAC12 doesn’t just mean no football and basketball.  My relative won’t get to swim, either. Not sure what that means for the scholarship.

  40. So Kamalalala ScareUs –  So Disappointing your anger, you are not trying to unify, and you have fallen to the failed left.  I would have supported the original Kamala Harris, Law and Order that supports reason.  You had a chance but you Lost it with Millions of potential voters.
Your statements today are pandering and flawed.  I was hopeful to have a reasonable option – But guess not as you showed to be a weak, I cannot see you as a leader of our Country.
TRUMP 2020 and the polls are showing already a positive change!

  41. OLD MAN,
The books are not new and most have come and gone, no impact.  Sure for those that have never accepted President Trump these books are just more Kool-Aid and have NO Impact.  Just feeding the hate.

  42. OLD MAN,
So Spot On!  Dems = Government Makes you – Not    Republicans =  You make yourself,Personal Responsibility, everyone work to contribute!

  43. Bob
You make so many good points. The driveby troll is in a cult. It drips from every word. Sadly we have to wait for the Orange monster to be gone. Hopefully, they go back under a rock. Nah they’ll be back to talk about debt and deficits. Yes, they have added 5 trillion to the debt since 2017. Punk ass cult members.

  44. Ping,
sorry to here about you getting laid off, Covid is screwing with us all. One nice thing, we get to see more of you as you have more time.
    Jack

  45. Hey Old Man,
I love a good dialogue,  So response – Cohen is not credible and is just noise.   And how can the media be more cranked up?  They have been after President Donald J Trump before day 1.  They, CNN – MSNBC, ABC – ran with scum lawyers and political hacks that may have broken the law as if they had real information only soon to find out that their pundits are criminals.

  46. Hey whskyjack,
Thanks,  not sure how you knew that happened but I have a better gig now helping to bring real change to healthcare.  Good to be back on line.

  47. Jack
I spoke with Kathleen on the phone today and she told me you lost your wife. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Take care.

  48. Craig and all,
Is NYC in real trouble?  Is the growth of sales in Florida from NYC residents real?  Maybe just anecdotal from some real estate people in Florida, but maybe a question to check out.

  49. Who hired and retained Cohen for over a decade?  Wait, I know the answer to that. Hmmm, I wonder if it was because Cohen wasn’t troubled by the ethics rules of his chosen profession. Wait, I know the answer to that.

  50. Ping, where the hell of you been? The New York to Florida real estate purchase pipeline has been in effect forever, or at least it seems that way. NYC in real trouble?  Hardly.

    NY v. FL:
Death rate:  FL .85, NY .05
New cases:  FL 36, NY 3
    Mortgage rates: 2.62%

    Do the math.

  51. Old Man. I love it that you’re back here commenting. There’s a very simple answer to why the mango messiah has not mentioned the Derecho Event. He doesn’t give a shit. There ain’t enough votes in Iowa for him to worry about.

  52. Trump (or an aide) did actually use derecho in a tweet and Pence went there to promise them money.  I tweeted for them to believe it when it arrived.

  53. OK, Not a class response but the Poster that Gov Como made showing flatting the curve is actually the curve of having the highest number of deaths and only exceed by NJ in % to Population.
How does he get such a pass?  Such BS !!!

  54.  Another point of view…. Nothing new?
    https://www.livescience.com/37386-derecho-facts.html
The June 29, 2012, derecho traveled an astonishing 450 miles (724 km) in six hours from the Midwest to the East Coast. Along the way it left millions without power and 22 dead.

A particularly severe storm on May 8, 2009, earned a new classification, super derecho, as it carved a path of destruction 100 miles (62 km) wide in Kansas. It spawned 18 tornadoes and hopped the Mississippi River into Illinois with 90- to 100-mph (145- to 160-kph) wind gusts.

  55. ping, are you for or against the president destroying the USPS, you know that government service mandated in the u.s. constitution?

  56. Economically, yes, (I’m guessing) it has to be a mess. From a pandemic perspective, no. Its trend lines for cases and death are opposite FL’s. And I get numbers from the WaPo coronavirus tracker, not from Chris Cuomo. The virus case and death shapes of FL and NY are radically different. NY Now shows as the tail of the whale. FL is the opposite. Management reduces the trends- see NY. Mismanagement increases the trends – see FL. Your support of Gov. Disastrous is puzzling to me. He’s a dumbfuck if ever there was one and you’re not that stupid.

  57. There is no action that President Donald J Trump has done to harm the USPS.  It is good to expect good management and improvement in the USPS.  The key is will the congress send something to test the President Donald J Trump.  If it is a good bill and reasonable funding and he veto’s then someone might have a case.  I think President Donald J Trump will support appropriate funding.
Today, Donald J Trump pulled the chain of the press to raise an issue.  So many took his bate once again.

  58. Pogo,
Look at the chart link,  The reason NY trend looks so good is such a HORRIBLE JOB of COMO.  So it is also the most improved.  NY Death rate is multiples higher then Florida.  FACT

  59. Pogo,
I think we found agreement that NYC is going possibly into an Economic Down Swirl.  How can this be stopped?  NYC is an American Treasure.   So Sad

  60. Old Man?  Macro comments are not actionable.  What fact are you referring to that you disagree?

  61. To all have a good evening,
My Closing comment, I was hopeful that the Democratic Party would provide a good center of the road alternative that would reflect an overall policy consistent with most Americans.  Sadly, they have made a choice to pander and move to far left.  Also to angry and it is turning the swing vote off.
    Have a good night

  62. Cases per 100000?  Fl 2705, NY 2158.  Think it’s because FL tests more?  Cherry or Grape?

  63. Ping our differences re NY’s economy is that I believe it’s bottomed and will slowly recover. You apparently think it’s on its way down and will continue that trajectory.

  64. Ping, what can I say, I got my methods, if I told you……. well you know. Glad you found a job that looks interesting.
Tony, thank you. It has been over a year now and yeah some days it still hits me.
Bob, I am blessed  and God had little to do with it. (btw, not being snarky here)  I’m blessed with family who worry about me and keep me  focused. It is why as I plan my retirement life I’m planning on being closer to family.
I think I will throw this in here.
One thing I’ve learned over the last year and a half since Sherry died is I’m not suicidal. I have cared so little about living that if I was  suicidal, I would have ended my life.  Weird huh?   Meanwhile, the last few weeks,  I’ve hinted at surgery.  I did the cologard test where you poop in a bucket and send it off to be tested, it came back positive. Then the Doc that probes you up your ass (they got names for this but I can’t pronounce them or spell them) told me as I came off of anesthesia I had cancer for sure, then a few days later his nurse said well good news we didn’t find any cancer in the labs. She seemed to think I should be happy. Mean while I got this mass in my colon.
Now back to the not suicidal, after the news that I had cancer I woke up the next morning in the most positive mood I had felt for at least a year and a half.  It is strange, I tried to explain it to one of my sisters and I think I shocked her. I may have shocked you all.  I’ve always been a person who could plan for the future and for a year and a half I had been drifting.  Now I’m not and it feels good.
I will keep you all up to date, probably the next update will be around the first of September after surgery. Then we will know for sure if there is cancer there or not.  BTW I’m betting on it being there, I think my doctors are too, they just don’t want to say it.
    Peace and Love
    Jack

  65. jack, sure hope it’s merely the remnants of one of your old culinary experiments they find.

me hinting that you’re full of sh*t should be taken as a sign of optimistic endearment.
