Imperial Presidency Do- Over

Todd Blanche went on national television and said the quiet part out loud. The days of an independent Justice Department are officially over. We are witnessing a radical departure from democratic norms straight back to the Nixon era where the Attorney General acts as the president’s personal lawyer. His AG ended up in prison.

  2. So Dumbass cancels future war games with North Korea, perennial enemy of the US with nuclear weapons stockpile and prospect of using it, because of his great relationship with Kim Jung Un, who has built up NK’s nuclear stockpile and has said he’ll use them in that region (I wonder who that wine against… SK and Japan? I digress) while he returns to war with Iran, perennial enemy of the US with no nuclear weapons stockpile or prospect of using what it doesn’t have, to prevent it from having a nuclear weapon? Huh?

  3. he ordered exercises with South Korea “scaled down” as retribution for South Korea not helping him in Iran

  5. In February of 2025, there was some type of US Senators function in Florida…and afterward they were all invited/summoned to MAL for dinner with The Don. Promises of wealth, of power? Veiled or direct threats? Probably all of the above; some flies like honey, some like sh/t, and some just want to avoid the flyswatter.

All of those Senate confirmation hearings; what a joke, as is his inept regime.

All of that wrangling over the big, ugly bill that had pious Republicans taking services away from their constituents back home, so they could give tax breaks (in perpetuity) to billionaires.

*From the fascists who brought you Project 2025, here Project Esther:

Project Esther targets progressive and liberal organizations and individuals exclusively while saying nothing about real antisemitism on the right

Project Esther is part of a broader authoritarian effort by Trump and the Republican Party to expand presidential power and dismantle democratic institutions, censor
and criminalize speech they dislike, attack liberal institutions of higher education, eliminate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives, and carry out mass deportations.

While Project Esther targets supporters of Palestinian rights and others critical of Israel in particular, it threatens the constitutional rights – including freedom of speech, assembly, the press, and academic inquiry
    – of all Americans and everyone in the U.S.

According to an analysis & by Politico published in April 2025, of the 47 points contained in Project Esther, “the Trump administration and its allies in Congress have already moved in their rhetoric or policy to make at least 27 reality.”

Most of the people behind Project Esther are Christian Zionists & who support Israel for theological reasons, believing that the establishment of the state of Israel is part of an end times prophecy in which Jesus will return and Jews, Muslims, and all other non-Christians will either convert or be condemned to hell.

Project Esther was released in October 2024, a year after the start of Israel’s genocidal & war in Gaza, which provoked nationwide protests against the genocide and the U.S. government’s complicity in it and caused support for Israel to plummet & among the American public.

While Project Esther only singles out by name a relatively small number of individuals and organizations, including
National Students for Justice in Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace, American Muslims for Palestine, and philanthropic organizations like the Open Society Foundations, Tides Foundation, and Rockefeller Brothers Fund, it casts a wide net, describing as “vast” what it terms the “Hamas Support Network.”

It also targets a number of members of Congress, including Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and the majority of Jewish Democrats & in the House of Representatives. It accuses &
    Representative Jan
Schakowsky, who is Jewish, of being part of what it terms a “Hamas Caucus,” composed of progressive Democrats, primarily women of color.

    Invoking antisemitic tropes, a
    Heritage Foundation
presentation & for potential donors to Project Esther claimea that Jewish billionaires like
George Soros of the Open Society Foundations and Illinois
Governor JB Pritzker are among a group of “progressive elites'” supposedly “leading the way” of the Palestinian rights movement, whose goal is to
“dismantle Western democracies, values and culture.”

Trump’s Overture to Kim Jong-un Strains Alliance With South Korea
President Trump wants to curtail military exercises with South Korea, saying they were hostile to North Korea. But under Mr. Kim, the North has become increasingly belligerent toward the South.

    By Choe Sang-Hun
    Reporting from Seoul
    Aug. 17, 2026
    Updated 6:57 a.m. ET

The South Korean and United States militaries view their annual drills in South Korea as more critical than ever. The stakes have risen dramatically as North Korea has gained battlefield expertise with drones and modern warfare by deploying troops to support Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The summer exercise had barely begun on Monday when President Trump denounced it, dealing yet another blow to the seven-decade-old alliance between Washington and Seoul. Under Mr. Trump, bilateral relations have already come under immense strain from his punishing tariffs on South Korean exports. And his transactional diplomacy has frustrated South Korea, most recently when he appeared to put Saudi Arabia on the path to enriching nuclear fuel on its own soil, a demand Seoul has made for years.

In recent years, North Korea has not only expanded its nuclear arsenal but also repeatedly threatened to use it against South Korea, labeling its neighbor a “most hostile enemy.” Its leader, Kim Jong-un, has also forged a mutual defense treaty with Moscow, dispatching troops and weapons to support Russia’s war against Ukraine. Despite these escalations, Mr. Trump, in a social media post, characterized North Korea as “unthreatening and respectful” while boasting of his “very good relationship” with Mr. Kim.

In the same post, he also criticized the decades-old joint military drills with South Korea as “not only costly” but “totally inappropriate and hostile” toward North Korea.

“I am not happy with the fact that the United States has, long ago, agreed to participate in Joint Military Exercises with South Korea,” he said. “Based on the fact that it is too late to cancel, I have instructed Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to substantially reduce the Joint Military Exercises!”

If implemented, the directive would mark Mr. Trump’s first-known concrete overture toward North Korea in his second term. However, it remains unclear whether Mr. Kim will embrace the gesture.

Throughout his political career, Mr. Trump has treated the alliance as a bad bargain for Americans, frequently accusing Seoul of failing to pay its fair share for the U.S. troops stationed in South Korea — who act as a deterrent to North Korea. During his first term, he unilaterally canceled or downscaled major drills, calling them “tremendously expensive” and “very provocative.” That concession helped facilitate three summit meetings with Mr. Kim but failed to roll back his nuclear ambitions.

Since returning to the White House, Mr. Trump has signaled a desire to renew that personal diplomacy. Over the weekend, he posted a 2019 photograph of himself and Mr. Kim at the inter-Korean border, writing, “Kim Jong Un and I get along GREAT!”

We are serving up a heavy dose of reality today as Donald Trump attempts to launch his own cryptocurrency bank while simultaneously floating Truth Social insider trading schemes. Meanwhile Marco Rubio is literally running away from reporters in the hallways and Mitch McConnell has been missing in action for over sixty days. It is just another manic Monday in Washington.

Out in the heartland the Iowa Senate race is getting completely upended by Josh Turek. We take a look at his incredible campaign hustle and that brilliant basketball ad he filmed with Barack Obama. Speaking of mysteries the crew dives deep into the bizarre Nolan Wells case out of Mississippi unpacking the highly questionable second autopsy results and what Ben Crump is doing about it.

To wrap things up we are talking about Mark Zuckerberg trying to rebrand his data centers as personal super intelligence with Muse Glimmer plus a very strange historical comparison between the sitting president and George Washington at Mount Vernon. Spoiler alert Washington was a lot taller and did not wear shoe lifts.

  18. https://www.commondreams.org/news/does-hakeem-jeffries-support-medicare-for-all

“Does Jeffries even pay attention to the overwhelming support of the Democratic Party base?” asked one labor movement veteran, citing a new poll showing 90% of the party want lawmakers to focus on passing universal healthcare.

*Hakeem is head of the corporate Dems in the House…but not for long.

Democratic House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York sparked fresh outrage Sunday by saying he does not currently support Medicare for All legislation in Congress, a damning admission at a time when party voters—clamoring for bolder positions from leadership and a willingness to fight for the working class—are overwhelming in favor of proposals that would provide universal healthcare coverage for every person in the United States at a lower cost than the current system.

Appearing on Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” Jeffries was asked by host Kristen Welker—who noted his previous backing of such proposals from 2013 to 2021—if he would put Medicare for All legislation in the House up for a vote if Democrat’s win back the majority in November, Jeffries first tried to dodge the question by putting his focus on the shortcomings of the Republicans, who gutted have Medicaid and attacked Affordable Healthcare Act subsidies during President Donald Trump’s second term.

  19. Here’s our Ossoff ad. Pass it on…

“Persistence in deceit.” Jon Ossoff just scorched the White House for lying a nation into war, calling it uniquely despicable. Watch the fiery breakdown from today’s Digital Diner right here:

  20. Didn’t realize Rubio was only asked one question before he ran away. Ha! Great opposition ad if he ever runs for POTUS, you know, if we have actual elections.

  21. I got curious about the guy who shot Eddie Haskell….convicted of shooting Ken Osmond, he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. After being released he shot and killed someone during a robbery and was sentenced to death. He’s currently alive on Death Row in California.

  22. Stur which shooting do you mean?
    June 8, 2020
According to the late actor’s death certificate obtained by TMZ on Monday, Ken Osmond passed away after suffering cardiopulmonary arrest. He also had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which obstructs airflow from the lungs.

The death certificate also listed anemia, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, depression, hypertension and pneumonia. It noted Osmond was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces with 60 years in the entertainment industry. The document also reported Osmond was cremated.

Osmond, who was best known for his role as Eddie Haskell on “Leave It to Beaver,” died May 18 at age 76 in his Los Angeles home surrounded by family.

  23. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Osmond

*Not sure what happened to the assailant, Sturg.

On September 20, 1980, Osmond was struck by three bullets while in a foot chase with a suspected car thief. He was protected from two of the bullets by his bullet-resistant vest, with the third bullet ricocheting off his belt buckle. The shooting was later dramatized in a November 1992 episode of the CBS series Top Cops. Osmond applied for a disability pension in 1984, but after an evidentiary hearing in 1986, the Los Angeles Board of Pension Commissioners denied his request by a 4–2 vote. Osmond appealed the determination to the Superior Court and in 1988 a judge overturned the Board’s denial and awarded Osmond a lifetime pension, and he retired from the force.

  24. Figured it out. Ken Osmond was shot several times when he was serving as a policeman, but survived thanks to his vest. The shooter was the guy you were talking about was Albert Cunningham.

  25. Let’s hope they remember, but they sure do some sneaky ops for anyone not paying attention, like using the same video ad but changing the captions and voiceover from for something to against it. That’s what Roger Marshall did with the SOB Act, after he got blowback from farmers.

  26. Dem candidates and their proxies need to constantly remind voters of what Repugz will do to them, their land, their way of life, if they give them the chance. Let’s hope folks have FO enough now after FA last election.

  27. Yes it’s Albert Cunningham who is on death row in California for the person he murdered after he was released from prison for shooting Osmond.

Beaver wouldn’t shoot nobody…..he’d get Larry Mondello to do it.

Trump boasts ‘young beautiful girls’ come to White House to thank him for lowering crime

“Every day I come to the White House, people are thanking me,” Trump claimed, imitating these so-called supporters, “Thank you, sir! Thank you! Thank you, sir”

These young, beautiful girls, these young, beautiful girls, these young, beautiful girls in the White House,” the president repeated. “You know, they come in. Now, I’m not supposed to say ‘beautiful,’ but what the hell. These young, these gorgeous, beautiful girls, they’re young. They wanna be safe, and they come, ‘Mr. President, may I speak to you?’”

“Yes,” Trump said, referring to how he responds to these “young beautiful girls.”

“Thank you, sir! Thank you!” the president recalls them saying. “I said, ‘Why are you thanking me?’ ‘Because a year and a half ago, I was afraid to leave — I was afraid to open the door of my apartment, and now I walk to the White House every morning, and I have absolutely no — thank you, sir!’”

  30. Everyone who was on that bait-plane in Turkey KNOWS that the threat to that plane was so great and so real that it caused their Fat-Ass boss to crawl into a food truck to go to another plane, leaving them all to go down with the ship.
They KNOW now that that Fat-Ass Loser boss KNEW that their plane was in danger of being blown to smithereens, and that their almighty gold-leafed boss did not even give so much as one little sliver of a rat’s ass if it did, just as long as he himself was NOT ON IT.

    Hahahahaha
That’s so damn funny I am laughing and slapping my knee.

  31. https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/trump-threatens-oman-latest-developments-191020819.html

Trump threatened on Monday to bomb Oman, as a 60-day deadline to end the war with Iran expired.

“If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the shit out of them,” Trump told Fox News on Monday, referring to ongoing talks between Oman and Iran on control of the strait, while Washington is also pursuing its own talks.

Tehran and Muscat have been talking for weeks on future maritime navigation arrangements through the shipping route, and the foreign ministry in Tehran said earlier Monday that the two sides were working on a joint declaration.

  32. The thing is, it wasn’t really a threat & BiBi made Dumbass scurry into a catering truck & then the world found out he ran. No photo-op either a raised fist, either. The smell in that catering truck with Donny & his soiled diaper. I hope they disinfected that truck before the sky chef loaded in meals for another flight.

  33. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-white-house-ballroom-military-complex-b3034438.html

The president told reporters at the White House on Monday that military officials approached him with plans for the military complex after he announced his intentions to build a ballroom, claiming they told him there is an “opportunity to build deep into the ground and build a military facility to go with the White House — and to go with all of Washington, D.C., which would be so valuable.”

Trump never once mentioned the word “ballroom” in a lengthy post defending the project on Truth Social but instead lashed out at “TREASONISTS” who sued to stop the building. He later called it a “Military Complex/Ballroom” and shared AI-generated images of himself and George Washington strolling through its halls.

  34. craven media will say shit like

    “yes he’s obviously a criminal
BUT MAYBE Blanche will have integrity”

    or

“BUT MAYBE his war is justified”

    and on

    so insulting

  35. Blanche’s evasions aren’t even elegant legalese they’re just nonsensical expressions of flawed reasoning like he wouldn’t pledge independence because trump might want him to pursue violent criminals
