Life is good.  The weather is less so.  This morning I enjoyed a breakfast of real back country Virginia dry cured ham.  It has been a long time since I enjoyed the tang and enjoyment of eating it.  I have seen the hams in stores over the years, but refused to pay ten or even twenty dollars per pound.  Finally in a small town grocery store the hams I have been looking for were in a bin. Poking around the pile I spotted the price.  A price I knew was realistic, two dollars and twenty-nine cents per pound.  So I picked out one that fit my storage space and I happily paid the price.

What does a decent priced ham have to do with the world?  A lot.  Right now the world has started raising tariffs on American products, and pork products are at the top of the list.  The moron’s ignorant trade war is causing a lot of pain on the farms. We are going to see lots of food prices going down as farmers reduce their animals. Then we will see them rise as shortages happen.

A few farmers are starting to reconsider their vote for and support of the orange one, but not many.  I spend many hours in Virginia and Maryland farm country.  I like to talk to farmers, learn about how they are doing.  This comes naturally as my grand-father was a farmer and I spent much of my early life with farmers.  So when talking to them I have a lot of empathy for their lives.  Being able to discuss crops and livestock breaks many barriers the farmers may have with this big blonde with a real bad voice.

It looks like a drought may be starting on the mid-Atlantic region.  Crops are drying up as the moisture from the heavy May and June rains leaves the soil.  A few farmers had planted corn early and it tasseled and can be harvested for a good price.  Others delayed, and the corn stalks are skinny and without any ears formed. Those might be harvested for turning in to feed.  Seedlings are not growing but are drying up.

The moronic administration is floundering around without a clue about world economics and world trade.  The entire concept of destroying America and returning to the good old days of the nineteen-twenties, of white supremacy and build everything in the U.S.,  is causing bad things to happen, not only to the minority of voters who voted for him, but all of us.  The concept that the world has moved on about one hundred years does not resonate in the alternate universe the White House contingent.

Farming is always a gamble — sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.  It is worse when you have a low intelligence person trying to bully the world and failing at it – like everything else he has touched.

Just as a way of bringing the sad pace of garbage caused by SFB on a minute by minute pace to reality:  Anyone remember FLOTUS getting a kidney repair done?

A woman who spent many days beyond day surgery in the hospital?  A woman, we were told, who returned to the WH?  A woman without any public face in two weeks?

Gotta wonder what is going on there.  Even a scribbled note from her handlers, smuggled out by a Secret Service agent would be nice.  Some reassurance that she is okay would be nice.

Speculation grows.  Some think cancer. Others, a facelift or tummy tuck. Some think she “fell down” and has other things going on.  Or even that she found a way to grab Barron and flea the U.S. back to Slovenia.

Nothing is being leaked.  That is beyond strange for this administration, it is unheard of.  To me that means something serious happened and it was not just a kidney thing.  Unless some chemical compound did something nasty to her kidneys.

She had her kidney problem hit right after several months of hearing about the virgin Stormy, hints of other women (hundreds?), paying for abortions and the spectacular flame-out of the “Be Best” campaign.  The only time she looked happy was at the extravagant correspondents dinner.

The only information comes from a man who does not and cannot tell the truth about anything.  He told six lies in two minutes during his word salad to the U.S. Naval Academy graduating class.  He averages more lies per hour than most of us do in a year.

Until she shows up and does an in person interview on WRC television station, the Comcast/Universal/NBC station in D.C., I will not believe she had a facelift or a tummy tuck.

One of the rather less than pure and sweet morals programs intelligence services run are using agents, men and women, who use sex to entrap or elicit information from the men and women who end up in their nest.  Looking at the “lawyer” who met with the Trump kids and campaign people would fit that category.

Looking at the Steele dossier, it seems a couple of red sparrows were involved.  Red Sparrows are what Russian intelligence community terms the sex workers and agents.  They are very pretty.  Think of Anna Chapman.  Think of the lawyer who met in the SFB stack of stuff, Natalia V. Veselnitskaya.  Both representative of women who entrap you. Although there is no mention the lawyer was a sparrow.  And, men who do the same for men or women are ravens.

Could the women in the Moscow hotel that probably had a very wet mattress to throw away have been red sparrows?  I would bet on it.  Putin is proud of how beautiful Russian sex workers are.  Even better they are well trained as agents too.  A certain president has a penchant for sex workers and beautiful women.  Especially young women.

A self-absorbed man-child would not have noticed or cared about who the women were if he were trying to get laid. It is possible he would not have noticed other instances if the women were not women but younger than eighteen.  He has been accused of entering the dressing room of the 1997 Miss Teen pageant, where contestants were as young as fifteen.

If a video of a man having sex with a teenage girl exists, that would be very damning and a very solid reason for blackmail.

The afternoon was a very nice spring afternoon, if not a nice summer day.  The “radio” was a cellphone with an app for SiriusXM, using Bluetooth to send a signal to a small speaker in a waterproof case.  I was listening to Caliente channel, a Spanish channel.  Something about it was more pronounced than I had noticed years ago.  The DJ was a native Spanish speaker, but while talking English, in particular American English would be used when a Spanish word or phrase was too long or even non-existent.

Years ago, even decades ago, particularly in Southern California, slipping between English and Spanish was fairly common, even today with new comers to the U.S. they start doing this.  In Colorado I noticed it too.  But, it was just a sentence or two.  What I hear now is the children of those newcomers to the U.S. comfortable with both languages.

In the office I have two people who handle calls from Spanish people and they too slip back and forth.  Unless they are talking to someone who is strictly a Spanish speaker.  One of my co-workers, now in Mexico, was raised with both languages, he too would slip back and forth.

These are the people who are being deported by the very scary federals.  They are not what the Republicans make them out to be. They may be Dreamers or DACA (scary sounding to me).  They may be young adults or even thirty-year-olds living over a work permit.  But they are Americans, they do not speak British English.  They speak American English.

Having listened to people who have been in America a very short time, they were proud to try an American word or two.  But, now they are afraid of moving their lips due to the very bad actions of the deportations squads.  Why are they so scary?

They are not WHITE.  Not Wonder Bread White Bread WHITE.  Not toothpaste white WHITE. They are not the color of “pure”.  Even vanilla is not white.

Next up are Vietnamese who Americans saved from slaughter in Vietnam.  The federal purity deportation squads are now ready to remove valiant and patriotic Vietnamese people from America.  Veterans need to get involved here.  But, once again – they are not WHITE.

Imagine this discussion if you were children in the mid-seventeen hundred’s in Colonial Maryland near what is now Hyattsville on a farm.  You hear your father talking or debating, with others from surrounding farms, that he is thinking of freeing his slaves. Lit by candle or oil lamp, the room would have been a place of flickering light, warm most of the year, an interesting place to be. The discussion going from farm house to farm house. Farmers of the land, tobacco the crop. Farms powered by slavery.

Questions about what would happen to the slaves once they became freemen, with questions about what would happen to the farm if the freemen decided to leave.  How would others see the freeing of the slaves.  Would others do the same or complain to the King’s agents?

You are one of many families farming the area. You are looking forward to moving somewhere with game and fresh dirt.  The wild game in the area has been hunted to extinction.  Your fields are producing fewer crops, especially tobacco.  It is time to move. With your father, Basil Foster marrying Mary Acton, you have some favors from William Penn, governor of Pennsylvania colony and grandfather of Mary.  Might as well go north to Pennsylvania.

But what about your slaves.  Keep them as slaves?  Release them as freemen?  Pennsylvania was tending to stop the owning of slaves in the colony.

Basil Foster made freemen of his slaves.  They, the clan and freemen, moved north to Pennsylvania colony and started clearing land around Bedford, Round Top.  The clan just north of them was massacred, the bodies stabbed onto the stubs of where tree branches had been prior on the large trees.  The Foster clan, including the new freeman, returned to the old farms around Hyattsville.  After the Revolutionary War, they all moved back to Round Top.

Consider that we, as a nation, are still debating this issue.
