“Unstable and Unhinged” Is The New Weird

Kamala Harris launched her own catch phrase in Erie PA last night to compete with her running mate’s “They’re just weird”.

After playing a video montage of Trump saying he would deploy the military on Americans who don’t support him, she said, “A second Trump term is a huge risk for America. He is increasingly unstable and unhinged. And he is out for unchecked power and control over your lives” — Watch the video

  2. Bink, thanks for last night’s comment sharing this recent evidence confirming the “unstable and unhinged” charge:

Holy $&@! this is the most bizarre political campaign event i’ve ever seen, and i’ve been watching ‘em here with y’all for YEARS

The “music portion” is at the end, Noem looks lost and horrified, trump is undeniably cognitively-impaired

The “town hall” portion ain’t less bizarre, btw

    indescribably bonkers

  3. stephen pointed out even more evidence

VP Kamala Harris released her medical records but her opponent won’t, former president Donald Trump’s cognitive decline was on full display during his public appearances over the weekend, and friends of the show James Taylor and Luke Combs are among the headliners at a hurricane relief concert. If you want to find ways to help people recover from hurricanes Helene and Milton visit http://colbertlateshow.com/hurricaner for more information.

  4. click here for jimmy k’s

We are three weeks away from the election and it was a messy weekend for Donald, he bragged about not using a teleprompter while reading from a teleprompter, he was in Aurora, Colorado where the MAGA-faithful assembled to bask in the glow of their dear misleader, Trump said that if elected he will invoke The Alien Enemies Act of 1978, VP Kamala Harris released her medical information over the weekend and Trump has yet to do so, he has called for Kamala to pass a test on Cognitive Stamina and Agility, over the weekend he reportedly used the “r” word to describe her in front of his bigliest donors, for whatever reason Trump has doubled his support among Black American men and couldn’t wait to tell all the white people who came to his rally about it, no one mispronounces words better than Donald, and after his rally in Coachella on Saturday we spoke to Trump supporters there about the issues that seems to have them so upset.

  5. post script to that town hall Bink shared with us:

Trump town hall interrupted by medical emergencies in the crowd (msn.com)

Former President Donald Trump’s town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, on Monday evening was interrupted twice by medical emergencies in a very warm Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and Fairgrounds before he cut the program short.
There was a medical emergency that required an attendee to be placed on a stretcher about 30 minutes into the event. As the crowd started singing “God Bless America,” Trump requested that “Ave Maria” be played on the loudspeakers as medics tended to the man.
    […]
Following the medical emergencies, Trump requested that the doors be opened but he was advised that for security reasons that wasn’t possible. Both Trump and moderator South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem commented on the heat in the room.
“Open the doors. I wish we could open those doors to outside,” Trump said. “For security reasons, they can’t. But you know what I suggest? Open them. Because anybody comes through those doors, you know what’s going to happen to them.”
“Personally, I enjoy this. We lose weight, you know. No, you lose weight. We could do this — lose four or five pounds,” Trump quipped.
“Would anybody else like to faint?” Trump said as the second person made their way out of the Expo Center.
Trump then requested that “Ave Maria” be played again and remained on stage as more music was played.
He continued, “Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music fest. Who the hell wants to hear questions right? Isn’t that beautiful?”
The former president, adamant about playing his music, stood on stage for nearly 45 minutes swaying to several songs on his playlist as the crowd sang and danced along.
The crowd slowly dispersed, but many stayed for the entirety of the campaign event.
“To lighten the mood, President Trump turned the town hall into an impromptu concert and the crowd loved it,” Leavitt told ABC News, adding, “The room was full of joy.”

only problem is the unhingedment just provides him more free media attention which in turn takes away airtime from others.

  7. Too bad someone didn’t sneak polka music into the playlist.  The guy is leaving a weird universe and moving to one that only he knows about.  I know the cult will not care that he is out of his mind, most likely those using him for power and money will gloss over what happened, and the corporate media will not say a thing.  It his riding the escalator of lost brains down to the basement that is what we are watching.

  8. I watched Kamala’s speech live and had to play catch up on Trump’s latest fiasco. Harris campaign had fun with it:

    @KamalaHQ
    Tonight, Donald Trump:
—Told his supporters to go out and vote on “January 5th”
—Rambled about Hannibal Lecter, a cannibal serial killer who is not real
—Acted confused when asked if they should end the event and play a walk off song
—Stood frozen and silent on stage as music played for 30+ minutes and the crowd poured out of the venue

Anthony Scaramucci: “The October surprise is that Trump has completely lost his marbles”

  9. Pathetic spin…

    Trump spokesman Steve Cheung:

“Total lovefest at the PA townhall! Everyone was so excited they were fainting so @realDonaldTrump turned to music. Nobody wanted to leave and wanted to hear more songs from the famous DJT Spotify playlist!”

What better time to call Trump unstable and unhinged. On a night where he was clearly unstable and unhinged.

  10. It is blatantly obvious now that sfb backers don’t care about the idiot.  They are pushing the veep to become prez once the cult has voted stupid into office.  Twenty-fifth amendment shortly after the inauguration and put orange blob into a room decorated as the Oval Office, a phone and some burgers.

  11. Local newspaper on Kamala’s rally yesterday could not have been better for her, and this article is a more serious and sincere effort to accurately report one of her speeches than what I normally see in national coverage.

‘She’s trying to stop the hate: ‘Thousands flock to Kamala Harris rally at Erie Insurance Arena

    By Matthew Rink, Erie Times-News

Vice President Kamala Harris laid out a series of economic policy proposals Monday evening inside a packed arena before offering a sharp rebuke of her opponent, former President Donald Trump.

“This election is about two very different visions for our nation,” Harris said to an estimated crowd of 6,000 people. “One is focused on the past and ours focused on the future. We’re focused on issues that matter most to families across America, like bringing down the cost of living, investing in small businesses and entrepreneurs, protecting reproductive freedom and keeping our nation secure.

“But that is not what we hear from Donald Trump,” the Democratic nominee said from the stage inside Erie Insurance Arena. “Instead, it is just the same old, tired playbook. He has no plan for how he would address the needs of the American people and American families. He is only focused on himself.”

Harris talked about expanding Medicare to cover home health care for seniors, bringing down the cost of housing, and helping first-time homebuyers with up to $25,000 of down-payment assistance. She said she’d give a $6,000 tax credit to parents of newborns, restore the child tax credit to pandemic levels and cut taxes for the middle class.
“And please do check out the Wall Street Journal or Goldman Sachs or the 16 Nobel Laureates or Moody’s, who have all analyzed the plans and said mine will strengthen the economy and his will make it weaker,” she said at one point during her 35-minute speech.

    ‘A detailed and dangerous plan’

But Harris quickly turned back to Trump and the Heritage Foundation’s 900-page Project 2025, a proposal for the next Republican president to drastically overhaul the federal government and to enact, among other things, a national ban on abortion. Trump has said he disavows Project 2025.

“It is a detailed and dangerous plan of what he will do if he is president,” she said, calling him “unserious” and adding that “the consequences of him ever being president again are deeply serious.”

She rolled video footage of Trump saying on Oct. 12 in Coachella, California that he would go after “the enemy from within” and saying they are more dangerous than Russia or China and should be put in jail, and another clip of him from his Sept. 29 speech in Erie saying he’d like to give law enforcement “one really violent day” to address crime.

“He considers anyone who doesn’t support him or who will not bend to his will an enemy of our country,” Harris said. “It’s a serious issue. He’s saying that he would use the military to go after them. Think about this. And, we know who he would target. And we know who he would target because he’s attacked them before. Journalists whose stories he doesn’t like. Election officials who refuse to cheat by filling extra votes and finding extra votes for him. Judges who insist on following the law instead of bending to his will.”

Harris said the stakes are even higher than they were in 2016 or 2020 because of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity. Trump, she said, is “unstable and unhinged” and is “out for unchecked power.”
    Importance of Erie

Trump’s recent rally at the Bayfront Convention Center was his second stop to the bellwether county this cycle. Fourteen months earlier, Trump spoke at the same arena as Harris did Monday, but to a smaller crowd of about 4,500 people.

That Erie County plays an important roll in foreshadowing the outcome of the rest of the battleground state was not lost on Harris, who noted that Erie County was a “pivot” county that had twice voted for President Barack Obama, then for Trump in 2016 and back to the Democratic nominee, President Joe Biden, four years ago.

“How you all vote in presidential elections often ends up predicting the national results,” she said before giving attendees instructions on how to vote early and asking them to make a plan to vote.

The Trump campaign issued a statement hours before Harris’s rally in Erie.

“Given Kamala Harris can’t even put together a half-decent answer on what she’d do differently than Sleepy Joe Biden over the last four years, another campaign rally isn’t going to move the needle for her failing campaign,” said Kush Desai, the Pennsylvania spokesman for Trump’s campaign. “Erie County will prove itself to be Trump Country when it votes for a return to the peace, prosperity, and stability of the first Trump presidency in November.”

    Off the record

Before the rally, Harris stopped at Legenderie Records and Coffee, a small business that Ishmael and Allana Trainor opened earlier this year, for a private conversation with six Black business owners and leaders in the Erie community. Harris was welcomed by the Trainors and Erie County Councilman Andre Horton. She bought a Marvin Gaye record before heading to Erie Insurance Arena.

The stop at Legenderie came just hours after Harris rolled out a new policy proposal called the Opportunity Agenda for Black Men.

The plan includes issuing a million fully-forgivable loans of up to $20,000 to Black entrepreneurs “who have a good idea but don’t have the resources, connections, or access to capital to get their business off the ground.” The loans would be provided by the federal Small Business Administration in partnership with lenders and banks “with a proven commitment to their communities.”
It also focuses on expanding opportunities for Black men to find good paying jobs, implementing protections for Black men who invest in cryptocurrency, launching a National Health Equity Initiative that addresses medical issues prevalent in the Black community, including diabetes, mental health, prostate cancer and sickle cell disease, and legalizing recreational marijuana and securing opportunities within the new industry for Black men.
The policy proposal and Harris’s pre-rally meeting also come as she tries to shore up a key Democratic voting bloc with three weeks until voters go to the polls and as thousands of Pennsylvanians are already casting mail ballots.

  12. Anyone who would back this idiot would not hesitate to help him fly from a high window.

  13. Now’s the time in a campaign I like to keep track of local coverage in battlegrounds. Harris and Trump were in Pennsylvania yesterday.

  14. The Atlantic: Donald Trump’s Fascist Romp
Former president described American citizens as “the enemy within”

At rallies in Colorado and California, he amped up his usual rants, and added a rancid grace note by suggesting that a woman heckler should “get the hell knocked out of her” by her mother after she gets back home. But on Sunday morning, he outdid himself in an interview on Fox News, by saying that “the enemy within”—Americans he described as “radical left lunatics,” including Representative Adam Schiff of California, whom he mentioned by name—are more dangerous than Russia or China, and could be “very easily handled” by the National Guard or the U.S. military.

  15. Plump behaves like a fascist aiming to be a despot. I don’t know if he’s fascist to the core because I don’t think he has one. He has violent and vile tendencies because those were his youthful influences. He’s acting out of increasing desperation, and someone is reading out loud to him about how Hitler and other dictators did it, so he’s grabbing onto that. Maybe Putin is personally coaching him.

  16. How Colorado is working to prevent another Tina Peters situation
Colorado is better prepared this year to counter threats to the integrity of the 2024 election, experts say.
The intrigue: That’s all thanks to Tina Peters, the Mesa County clerk sentenced to prison earlier this month for election tampering.
Why it matters: Colorado was the epicenter of efforts to unearth alleged voter fraud and overturn the 2020 presidential election results, but officials are determined this year to quell any concerns about threats to the vote.

What they’re saying: “Her callous disregard for her sacred oath has strengthened our resolve and our processes to guard against someone inside an elections office taking advantage of their position to undermine our most cherished right to vote in free, fair, and secure elections,” said Matt Crane, executive director of the Colorado clerks association, in a statement at Peters sentencing hearing.
The latest: New laws strengthen prohibitions against elected officials from accessing election equipment and being in the room with voting systems without being accompanied by authorized individuals — a direct response to Peters’ actions.
Other new provisions require election officials to get certified — unlike Peters — and prohibit those convicted of election offenses from serving as county clerk.
Moreover, Colorado lawmakers tightened laws designed to protect election officials from threats and retaliation and prohibit false electors who would attempt to overturn the results.
The bottom line: Secretary of State Jena Griswold expressed confidence in the integrity of the election. “Colorado’s elections are the nation’s gold standard,” she said in a statement after Peters’ sentencing.
“I am proud of how we have responded to the first insider election breach in the nation, and look forward to another secure and successful election in November.”

  17. This gets my vote. Why don’t other states (like Alabama) study and adopt this model? Could it be they don’t really want elections to “work?”

Secretary of State Jena Griswold expressed confidence in the integrity of the election. “Colorado’s elections are the nation’s gold standard,” she said in a statement after Peters’ sentencing.

  18. Bill Maher’s going to have another field day with the latest jerking off two guys at once video. It’s been his go-to meme all season.
Also the make-up’s getting thicker and gooey-er. He looks like Peter Pan Crunchy on a slab of burnt toast.

  19. Israel has a major problem, and it may not have a solution.  Established originally as a safe haven for global Jews following WWII, its successful kibbutz system built a modern nation despite the various wars in its early years.  In defense, following the various wars, it kept parts of the geography not part of the original outlines and expanding into the West Bank.  All this was while claiming to be a democratic nation but suppressing the voter participation of Arab residents whose population birth rate outstrips Jewish Israelis.

The surrounding Arab nations want nothing to do with the Palestinians other than using them as a military buffer with Israel leaving them in a poverty stuck between a rock and a hard place.  The result is an Israel practicing a system of apartheid that the US cannot continue to support.

Even if a real two state solution was achieved, what happens to the non-Jewish citizens of Israel?

This 1922 report lays out these problems that the far-right policies of Netanyahu have done nothing to alleviate.

Israel reacts to ‘apartheid’ label from Amnesty International (ft.com)

Yes, Israel was attacked and its citizens kidnapped and slaughtered with only a few returned.  Unfortunately, Israel has responded with attacks on women and children in the thousands to a point where the US is threatening to withhold aid unless humanitarian relief is provided.

  20. Yep, just as they planned she triggered him. He took the bait in the middle of the night, this is just one of three posts on the topic..

    Donald J. Trump

    @realDonaldTrump

    Oct 15, 2024, 1:42 AM

I’ve put out more Medical Exams than any other President in History, and aced two Cognitive Exams (the Doctor stated that my “cognitive exams were exceptional!”). I am far healthier than Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, but especially, Kamala. Also, I am far too busy campaigning to take time, from the 22 days left, as I am using every hour, of every day, campaigning, because we have to take back our Country from the Radical Left people that are destroying it. MAGA2024!

  21. Dancin’ Don-Old, ew!

Yes, please! All MAGAts should go vote on January 5th.

Is it possible that he would only be a dictator in day one, because on day two he’ll be ousted for Putin’s other puppet, JD?

  22. Man oh man, can CS dance or what?

Ivy your descriptions of CS’ makeup are getting better and more imaginative.  If it gets any thicker, gooey-er or meltier, he’ll be in McArthur Park territory – but with orange icing.

  23. Balloon Boy anniversary October 15, 2009. I was transfixed.
The kid hurled his breakfast on national tv but spoke truth for the ages: “we did it for the show.” Perfect analogy for Plumpty’s false front existence.

  24. I have the feeling that sfb would have been beaten up and stuffed in a locker if he tried to play football.  Didn’t he play something like badminton?

  25. Why is “leadership” such a big deal? a young colleague once asked me. My reply: leadership is like air. When it’s clean and fresh, you hardly think about it. You breathe freely, you go about your business, you get your stuff done. But when air is bad, it stinks, it’s in your way, you cough and choke, you can’t function, it’s all you think about, I can’t breathe. Or that smells terrible.

Donald Trump is like a breath of foul air. Kamala is the fresh breeze we’ve been waiting for.

  26. Flynn, the goon-in-coming, has PROMISED to “go after” generals and admirals to execute them under Trump’s orders. Trump’s demented actions last night expose him as a crazed idiot, but here he comes, charging up through the polls, embraced endorsed and hugged by white adult men who are so misogynistic they cannot stand a woman , especially this one, asserting she can be a good President. Women are going to decide this election; it is all about enough women to get out there and vote for Harris. If they maintain the same percentage of voters, here comes Trump. This talk of the youth changing this election is just talk…they never have influenced an election in numbers.

  27. Thanks, Craig and YES!  Anthony Scaramucci: “The October surprise is that Trump has completely lost his marbles.”

  28. Hah.  speaking of foul air, this morning a good friend texted me a clip of James Carville that said only  “Donald John Trump smells like SHIT.”

  29. who dares to say he’s 2 dimensional!

in a sense, he’s at least 4 dimensional: smell, sound, looks, touch — all like shit.

taste would be only in the sense of style, too horrible to imagine what he actually would taste like.

  30. it’s a trope in portrayals of despots for their adherents to attempt to conform to increasingly unhinged behavior until such devotion becomes awkwardly comical, like all the attendees at the trump town hall standing around, confused, participating but not sure why
