Mail In Walk Back

Trump finally gets it. Trashing mail ballots suppresses his own vote. (Florida GOP freaking out at reports 140,000 more Democrats requested mail ballots in just the last two weeks, reversing decades of Republican mail-in dominance).

but but the Rumpbutt is suing nevada’s vote by mail effort

newsweek via msn:

Trump Sues Nevada Over Law That Expands Voting by Mail

President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign filed a lawsuit against Nevada on Tuesday, suing the state over its plans to offer mail-in ballots to all registered voters amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The lawsuit was submitted against Nevada’s GOP Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske in the U.S. District Court of Nevada on behalf of the Trump reelection campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Nevada GOP.
“Put simply, the American people must be able to trust that the result [of the 2020 election] is the product of a free and fair election,” the lawsuit reads. “Nevada’s recently enacted election laws—collectively, AB4—fall far short of this standard.”
The plaintiffs add that the RNC wants to prevent the election reform bill’s “constitutionally problematic changes to Nevada election law,” suggesting the shift in policy could “confuse voters” and create an incentive to stay clear of the polls.
“AB4 forces the RNC to divert resources and spend significant amounts of money educating Nevada voters on those changes and encouraging them to still vote,” the lawsuit adds.
The plaintiffs further argue that the AB4 bill would breach the Constitution by effectively extending the 2020 general election beyond the date set by Congress.

Nevada being sued by tRUMPSKY, because mail-in ballots there will hurt him.  Donald, the mass murderer, is an effing putz.

Trump's interview debacle sends a warning for the fall campaign

(CNN)Donald Trump’s weak and flailing interview with Jonathan Swan of Axios fired a warning flare about the President’s hopes for reelection, if his campaign and White House staff programed to fulfill his yearning for praise are prepared to recognize it.

Trump came across as ill-prepared, narcissistic and far from in control of the coronavirus pandemic. It was a far cry from the image of courageous leadership and energetic, unstinting commitment on behalf of Americans that his aides spend every day trying to sketch.

Well, Sturg, you apparently didn’t get surged away and must have power.  How much of Isaias did you see?

We saw nought but rain.
Hardest part of that hurricane was listening to them saying that name over and over. Took em 2 days to settle on a pronunciation.

Until Flatus showed me that list, I was just about to lodge a complaint with the National Hurricane Namers’ Association.

Tornadoes, water spouts, wind, rain and finally sunshine.  Just another day on the water.  We rocked and rolled a bit, it was nice while the eye went over us, then the back wall hammered us because that is off lowlands and the water.  Overall at least seven inches of rain, gusts to at least fifty (most likely sixty) mph, a tornado went by a few miles west, and the afternoon and evening were wonderful.  What I cannot stand is the constant emergency blasts on the radio and cell phones.  After the first one I am well aware all hell is breaking out.

LP about the above:

August 5, 2020 – In a new video released today, “Secretary of Failure,” The Lincoln Project scrutinizes Senior Advisor Jared Kushner’s malignant response to the national COVID-19 pandemic.

A recent article from Vanity Fair highlighted the outright maliciousness and evilness of Kushner’s actions: He scrapped a national response plan, believing the virus would affect only Democratic states and that he could shift the blame to state Governors.

“Jared Kushner doesn’t care about your life or mine,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “He thought the pandemic was just another political prop — and now we’re all suffering. He is beyond evil.”

Defeating Trumpism means defeating cronies like Jared. Come November 3rd, it’s time to clean house.

https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2020/aug/05/who-is-jonathan-swan-the-reporter-who-grilled-trump-and-what-do-kangaroos-have-to-do-with-it Michael, I couldn’t help but notice the reporter grilling president Donald Trump in the White House this week had a peculiar accent. Is he one of yours? Hi Matthew! Very perceptive of you. The Axios reporter with the furrowed brow and comically perplexed expression is Jonathan Swan, a former Sydney Morning Herald journalist. After making his name as a political reporter here in Australia, Swan moved to the US in 2014 to work as a Congressional aide as part of an academic fellowship. Since then he’s worked as a reporter at the Hill before moving to Axios in 2016. Since the Trump interview he has become a hugely popular meme thanks to his quizzical response to the president’s insistence the US was doing better than any other country in tackling Covid-19. So he’s sort of adopted the US as his home country. Has he ever been involved in any particularly Australian stories? Here in Australia, Swan is best remembered for his scoops about politicians abusing their parliamentary entitlements. Oh, and a story about a senator throwing kangaroo faeces at his brother. Sorry, what? The kangaroo poo story. You don’t know about it? No … Weird! Well, in 2013, thanks to a bizarre trick of electoral maths, a bunch of candidates from so-called “micro parties” found themselves elected to the Australian Senate despite receiving a minuscule number of votes. One of those lucky few was Ricky Muir, a candidate for the Motoring Enthusiasts party. While the rest of the country was still figuring out… Read more »

Good!  Joe should stay home, stay safe, and in doing so, send a message about what America needs to do to keep the virus from spreading.

After crowing how that I-storm didn’t do anything but dump some rain….  we had some huge wind gusts in the middle of the night.  We never lost power…  but one of them took out our cable.  Which means not only did we lose tv… but our internet too.   Just got it back.  Nice to be here!

I kept wishing for when it all came back that I would find out trump dropped dead in the middle of the night….   rats!

The stupidity continues apace.

A new report suggests the summer’s surge of covid-19 infections and deaths has knocked the U.S. economy off its tentative path to recovery. Hiring slowed dramatically in July, according to an estimate by ADP, as businesses added fewer than 170,000 new jobs compared to some economists’ predictions of more than 1 million.

President Trump showed no sign of admitting the magnitude of the crisis. In wide-ranging, frequently erroneous comments on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday, he claimed covid-19 was spreading in a “relatively small portion” of the country (it is spreading nearly everywhere); said children are “virtually immune” to the virus (they are not); and once again insisted the outbreak will “will go away like things go away.”

What exactly has Lardius done right?

161,143 Americans dead of C19.

trump says 160 thousand was the best he could do; ‘the numbers are great.’ He’d have liked to do better, but sheikh jared found a few thousand masks and some respirators, and that probably saved a few lives. It is what it is.

pogo – Not only has hiring slowed, but folks are still being   furloughed or terminated, as with my company.  Voters are noticing who is actually fighting for them; Democrats.
rr – I keep hoping I’ll pop by to find out Nancy Pelosi has just been sworn in as POTUS until Joe picks it up in January.

Standing in the front yard, surveying the lack of damage from TS Isaias when I hear a bang, loud and close.  Firecracker or gun?  I go “what was that” and start moving to it keeping cover in front of me (martini covered just in case someone did not like them).  After about ten meters I start to realize that is a reaction to a noise that not everyone would do.  Would you do that?  Or would you get inside your house and wait for the police to show up?  It was an errant firecracker.

blueINdallas

BB – Glad it was just a firecracker.  Even on July 4th, I quickly move away from the windows when I hear them down here.  If I were back home, I wouldn’t flinch.

So repube hacks help get Kanye on the WI & Ohio ballots. Trying to pull a Gary Johnson & getting all those young rap fans to vote for him?  I’m just guessing here, but I can’t see the Gary Johnson & Jill Stein voters going to him.

tRUMP will be the biggest LOSER of any presidential campaign in history.  He’s already a huge loser.  Huge.   If the vote isn’t close, they can’t cheat.   Loser. Loser. Loser.
Mary’s book has already outsold Donny’s f’art of the deal book, which has been out for almost three decades.  He’s such a loser.
I still hope that Orange Julius and the Whitest Man succumb to something, making Pelosi the first woman POTUS…for a bit.

What happened to last weekend’s rumors of tRUMP’s I’ll health?
