But he isn’t going to get any delegates in🔏California
As if California can count their votes by July, KGC. Most freaked up state other than Iowa.
Well there is that
In the first four states only Joe Biden has won the black vote in each state.
Time for Bloomberg and Steyer to get out and fund Biden
One Question becomes whether the black voters outside the Deep South will go to the polls in November if Bernie! Is the nominee. That is the central question in my mind for the “swing” states, which are the key to beating president fuckup. We’ll talk Wednesday.
Waiting for Charleston.
What about Biden’s lack of Hispanic support
Carville . Makes me want to throw up
Looks the big winner for the night is Buddagoogoo
The Hispanic support has yet to be tested. KC you’ve said you aren’t on the Bernie train. If Bernie takes th eHispanic vote in CA Tuesday are you buying a ticket?
Buttigieg? Are you nuts? With 10% in he’s got 7% of the vote. In what alternative universe does that make him the big winner?
I voted for Liz
I think the Biden thing is a result of lazy thinking on the part of political coward
I think Nevada was a test of the Hispanic vote
It’s Biden or Bernie folks. Bloomberg blew it.
Sorry, but I ain’t buying what you’re selling. You completely evaded the question. Nice pivot though. BTW, Jaime Harrison disagrees with your “lazy thinking … political coward”BULLSHIT. I don’t dislike Lizzie, and I won’t stoop to the personal attack you seem particularly comfortable with these days, but Lizzie is toast. Joe may be done Wednesday, I can’t say on Saturday, but Lizzie has what, 8 delegates so far? And she improved her position by exactly 0 tonight. Where does she pick up support?
I expected Biden to win, but this wasn’t just a vote for. It was a vote against Bernie and will continue to be a vote against Bernie. We already have a white, male crazy. A replacement isn’t necessary, particularly in the face of Covid-19 where experience is required,
SC is not going to go dem in the general so who cares
Steyer basically bought black votes. So, those voted would’ve gone to Joe. Tuesday will tell the tale. So many here have voted for Warren. Keep hope alive.
Poobah, I agree, unless lightening strikes while one candidate or another is being attacked by a shark. What does it say when a pundit such as yourself says a candidate who has yet to be on the ballot in a single state has peaked? I think the answer is obvious. In a diverse state Lizzie and Amy are behind Steyer. Starts to show what the breadth of their support is.
Bernie is speaking. This is a waste of TV time.
What is the point of that horror show, Tulsi, still being in the race and who is bankrolling her?
I think Warren’s PAC ads arrived to late to save the day, especially since many vote early.
I will support the dem candidate regardless. Unlike some who apparently will sit on their hands in hopes of proving
their own theory right
Deflection. Who cares? It’s not the general election. It’s the nominating process. Still evading the question. No one, NO ONE, who doesn’t get delegates in SC tonight has a chance in the nomination fight. BTW. Jim Cliburn would tell you that your suggestion that a vote for Biden is lazy, political cowardice is utter horse shit. ~~ But Lizzie will get the off the grid elderly white vote. That should do it. ~~~
Jamie, damn skippy. BiD, I think you are right about Tuesday.
KC, we have one thing in common. November.
KGC: “SC is not going to go dem in the general so who cares”
Black voters in SC are sending a powerful message to their brothers and sisters nationwide. It’s Joe.
Warren just gave an amazing speech down in Houston!
Pfft
Jim Clyburn introducing Biden tonight: “People confuse goodness with weakness… We are blessed with a candidate who understands what it is to restore the goodness in this great country.”
Biden to Clyburn: “My buddy, you brought me back.”
Stop Bernie. Support Warren.
Buddawhatever is the true alternative to Bernie. Flatus leads the way
Biden: “Talk is cheap. False promises are deceptive. Talk about revolution and change in anyone’s life, but we need real changes right now.”
Steyer saying bye bye. My guess- monetary support for Biden.
If Biden goes with Harris, that gives him the Progressive vote. Her votes in the Senate are more progressive that Bernie’s.
Biden tonight: “The American people in the last 3 1/2 years have seen how utterly mean, selfish, the lack of any sense of empathy or concern for anybody else, a president who not only has horrible policies but the way he mocks and makes fun of other people.”
Biden copied Bernie
Peeking in at half time… Celtics in the lead.
Good for Joe!
Celts looking good, RR.
Bernie tickets for sale? Biden copying Bernie? BS. Empathy has been Joe’s trademark for decades. KC your hatred of Biden is overwhelming your ability to see anything in this race objectively.
And Bernie stole from Hillary.
“For everyone…who’s ever been counted out but refused to be knocked out, and for everyone who has stumbled but stood right back up, and for everyone who works hard and never gives up, this one is for you.”
Add Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina popular votes all together and Biden is beating Sanders by at least 14,000 votes. Can we please rethink the myth of Bernie Sanders as frontrunner? 236k votes for Biden vs 222k Sanders in the first four states
KGC, I’m begging you honey, we all got issues with Joe, but I really do think he’s our best shot at Trump at this point. Give him a rethink. Bloomberg or Bernie the only alternatives now.
Warren making the case that progressives have one, and only one chance to make changes. Warren is the way to do that. I hope folks will bail on Bernie and go to Warren. By the way, putting Warren on the ticket with Biden helps make sure progressives show up in November.
Of course, we still have to see if Bloomberg makes any noise on Tuesday.
Joe Biden desperately needs Kamala Harris right now to win some delegates in California on Tuesday. Call her Joe.
Of course, Warren did take out Bloomberg in the debate, so Joe didn’t have to get his hands dirty.
Warren is done Bid, I don’t like it and I don’t know why. But it’s now Biden or Bernie.
You don’t think Bloomberg will do anything on Tuesday?
Let’s see how accurate 538 is for Tuesday
Likely state wins on Super Tuesday by candidate, FiveThirtyEight:
Sanders: California Massachusetts Colorado Utah Maine Vermont American Samoa
Biden: Texas North Carolina Virginia Tennessee Alabama Oklahoma Arkansas
Klobuchar: Minnesota
If Biden can survive Super Tuesday with a competitive number of delegates the primary calendar gets better for him against Sanders: Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia etc.
Bid, I think Bloomberg wins no states Tuesday and quits Wednesday.
Jamie, so sorry, think Amy has run her course, but certainly raised her profile. Going further will damage that.
I hope someone is listening to Warren with regard to the economic situation caused by coronavirus. She hopes the Fed will step in. She doesn’t want folks getting laid off or small business closing over a temporary blip in the supply chain. From personal experience, I wish the big box stores would stop penalizing vendors for low fill rates until this issue is resolved. They charge vendors obscene amounts for fill rate issues; generally anything under 95-98% of a purchase order. That will quickly dry up cash flow for the vendors. The non-compliance fines offset far-and-away any profit. I don’t expect them to be team players, but they should be.
Yang said it was a mistake for Bloomberg not to get on the ballot in SC, where ads work. I just hope that any Republicans planning to vote for Bernie in TX, didn’t early vote. It’s going to rain Tuesday, so maybe they’ll stay home. Hopefully, most Dems made up their minds after the last debate and early voted. If wishes were horses…
”Warren is done Bid, I don’t like it and I don’t know why.”
…because people resent intelligence in others, fun fact
…notice people love to say “ Warren is done”, as if to say “see? i told you she couldn’t do it”.
Representative democracy gives legitimacy to personal insecurities- so weird. Hooray, people, in general!
craig, Bloomberg needs to stay in to continue his anti-trump ads. he helps Joe Biden (or lizzie) better with the ads and puts a lot more $$ joe’s way that way then he would if he dropped out and had to adhere to contributor limit. staying in also gives him room on the debate stage to bugger Bernie. he also rattles IMpotus by staying in until the convention at which time he can throw all his behind the scenes weight to whomever is the anti-Bernie left standing.
NEW THREAD
As I noted previously, South Carolina and Super Tuesday will end a TON of campaigns.
Kudos to Steyer for getting things started. I thought he might hang around until he stopped qualifying for debates. I think he realized that without a win in South Carolina, he was not going to be back on the stage.
Next to drop out following Tuesday…
Buttigieg (Strange position for Pete. He was painted by progressives as a mainstream corporate candidate, and yet black voters were not progressive enough to vote for a gay man for President.)
Klobuchar (Always acted like the lone, competent adult in the room. But Dukakis proved “competent” is never enough to win. Also hurt that her campaign theme song was “Being Boring” by the Pet Shop Boys.)
Warren (The only thing worse than losing NH is when Liz loses Massachusetts. Her only contribution in the last few weeks is her take-down of Bloomberg, which may leave the Democrats with far weaker options for November.)
With only Sanders, Biden and Bloomberg remaining the Democrats will put pressure on Bloomberg to drop out and endorse Biden before the next round of states and the next debate.
So, I think the real question now is… will Bloomberg stay or go?
But he isn’t going to get any delegates in🔏California
