The Pence Gambit

It’ll be even more fun if pence gets the chance to cast the vote that removes trump, and he takes it. Imagine the brouhaha that would follow ! Those obese baseturds, manafort, kysliak, derapaska, bannon, barr, pompey, trump, corsi, limbaug and hannity would all have heart attacks. The impeachment and trial would go into syndication, outselling M*A*S*H, and the country would run out of popcorn !

pundits think that any rippers who vote against trump are doomed. But would they actually deny pence, their own newly sworn-in sitting president, the 2020 nomination ? Hell, pence could tell the convention delegates that if they don’t give him the nomination, he won’t pardon their disgusting godking savior. Hoo boy, would that raise a howling and a gnashing of dentures ! Then we’d go through Mexico’s and Brazil’s popcorn, too ! Oh, what an interesting, educational, and spectacularly inventive year we could have after three years of trump’s tedious monotone self-praise, ranting & bullying. Wouldn’t it be heavenly ?

So tonight before bed, tell your higher spiritual being that you really really really want this impeachment, and for pence to have his really really really big chance. If not for me, please do it for Iowa’s corn farmers.

X-R,  whether intentional or not, your choice of which names to capitalize says a lot.   proper nouns truly IMproper and undeserving of capital (or Capitol) respect.

back in ole KY, Lexington Herald Leader reports:
A growing number of Republican lawmakers are urging Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, a fellow Republican, to either provide evidence of the voting “irregularities” he has alleged or concede Tuesday’s election to Gov.-elect Andy Beshear, who defeated him by 5,189 votes.
“The best thing to do, the right thing to do, is for Governor Bevin to concede the election today so we can move on,” said Rep. Jason Nemes, R-Louisville.
Senate President Robert Stivers, R-Manchester, first raised the possibility of the tight election being decided by the Republican-led legislature Tuesday night when he explained the process that would occur if Bevin decided to challenge the results of the race. Bevin bolstered that speculation Wednesday by claiming that thousands of absentee ballots were counted illegally without presenting any proof to back up his claim.

Nemes said he has not seen much support for an election challenge among his Republican colleagues in the House, largely because the governor has not backed up his claims. None of the lawmakers the Herald-Leader spoke to Thursday said they had seen evidence to support Bevin’s claims.
Rep. John Blanton, R-Salyersville, is a former state police officer who said he has heard rumors of election problems but no hard evidence.
“The last thing anyone wants to do is overturn a constitutional election,” Blanton said. “We want the will of the people to be done.”
House Republicans have had a rocky relationship with Bevin since they gained control of the chamber in 2016. Often, it was the GOP-led House that blocked Bevin’s policy priorities, such as a funding mechanism for charter schools and more aggressive reforms to the pension system.
In a statement, House Speaker David Osborne, R-Prospect, said the House will play no role in the election unless Bevin files a complaint. So far, Bevin has only asked for a recanvass, which requires county officials to check the results from every voting machine and recount absentee ballots.

Trump Ordered to Pay $2 Million to Charities for Misuse of Foundation

The president admitted he had used funds raised by the Donald J. Trump Foundation to promote his campaign and pay business debts.

renee, that book you ordered looks like it’ll be a lot of fun to read given what wapo has to say about it this morning:
Senior Trump administration officials considered resigning en masse last year in a “midnight self-massacre” to sound a public alarm about President Trump’s conduct, but rejected the idea because they believed it would further destabilize an already teetering government, according to a new book by an unnamed author.
A Warning” by Anonymous, obtained by The Washington Post ahead of its release, a writer described only as “a senior official in the Trump administration” paints a chilling portrait of the president as cruel, inept and a danger to the nation he was elected to lead.
The author — who first captured attention in 2018 as the unidentified author of a New York Times opinion column — describes Trump careening from one self-inflicted crisis to the next, “like a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower, pushing the buttons of government indiscriminately, indifferent to the planes skidding across the runway and the flights frantically diverting away from the airport.”
The book is an unsparing character study of Trump, from his morality to his intellectual depth, which the author writes is based on his or her observations and experiences. The author claims many other current and former administration officials share his or her views.
The 259-page book — which was published by Twelve, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group, and goes on sale Nov. 19 — does not re-create many specific episodes in vivid detail, which the author writes was intentional to protect his or her identity.
At a moment when a stream of political appointees and career public servants have testified before Congress about Trump’s conduct as part of the House impeachment inquiry, the book’s author defends his or her decision to remain anonymous.
“I have decided to publish this anonymously because this debate is not about me,” the author writes. “It is about us. It is about how we want the presidency to reflect our country, and that is where the discussion should center. Some will call this ‘cowardice.’ My feelings are not hurt by the accusation. Nor am I unprepared to attach my name to criticism of President Trump. I may do so, in due course.”

I can’t help but wonder if Pence would step as the REAL antichrist and that Trump is nothing but a maniacal joke to get us there.

Rachel Maddow shares some of the first excerpts from the forthcoming book “A Warning” by an anonymous author described as “a senior official in the Trump administration,” describing the challenge of briefing Donald Trump in pictures and sound bites and the staff panic of trying to prevent from Trump’s ill-considered decisions. Aired on 11/07/19.

Bobble-head was set up for a lay under the bus wheels a while ago.  SFB said something about Pence involvement a few weeks ago.  Considering that the low intelligence narcissist will destroy everyone and everything around him to distract from damage, the B-H is gonna take a hit.  Which is one reason that forty-six might be Speaker Pelosi.

Spent the last 45-minutes looking back at Gerald Ford and his ascendancy to the presidency. The 25th Amendment was involved during the process of elimination. I was exceedingly busy with/in Latin America at the time. We carried on while DC did their thing. Everything turned to excrement when Carter took over and tried to apply the FOIA to our massive collection of dossiers. I up-classified virtually everything undoubtedly saving the lives of many sources. It made the resident Carterites crazy as I denied them access to file after file stamping their covers and contents with the revised classifications.

Xrep….   fuck Iowa….   let ’em squeal like pigs!

Of course Pence is going down with trump.  Once again…  I highly recommend Rick Wilson’s book “Everything Trump Touches Dies”.

patd…  no offense….  but I didn’t read your post about the Anonymous book.  I don’t want to know all the salacious bits before I get it.  Watched a Celtics game instead of Rachel last night.  Good choice for me… Celtics won.

I watched much of the USF game. IMO their coach did their players a tremendous disservice by not letting them play serious football. Head coach and AD should be canned or program should be shut down.

Leaves from the myriad trees in Kumcho’s forest are seriously dropping with today’s chilly Autumn breeze. I’m glad that I relocated our hanging plants to the garage the other day. The garage is climate controlled because Rosie is quartered there.

XR, interesting gambit you have there.  I’m glad Pence and the repubs aren’t as smart or clever as you are.

Flatus, hope your fall is a better one color wise than ours was.  We saw almost no red due to (I’m told) the dry, warm conditions extending through October followed by heavy rain & wind last weekend – and into the 20s overnight this week (Brrr).  For the first year I can remember my (goddamned) gingko tree dropped all of its leaves in a 3 day period.  It usually takes a couple of weeks to do that.  Not sure what that means regarding climate change if anything, but as the old saying about fall and winter goes, “You can’t fool the  trees.”

And patd, yes, Bwahahahahahaha.  “Foundation” my ass.

The ginkgo with which i share a yard sheds its leaves very quickly, also, Pogo.  It’s a beautiful tree- i’m glad i planted it.

i saw a headline on that terrible news-portal that read something like: “Why are Republicans trying to out the whistleblower”.  i didn’t click on it, because i’m assuming the entirety of the article is two words:

“Witness intimidation”

My ginko always drops its leaves in one day. It is what I like about it. Where as My neighbors pin oak sheds all winter. On good years when the ginko turns colors it is a brilliant bright gold. But the last few years it hasn’t been turning and is still green when a hard freeze hits. With a freeze it drops all its leaves no matter the color. That was last week and I have been going out and removing the mat of leaves from the grass before they smother the grass.

Bink, my Ginkgo is a big one – about 3′ in diameter and the tallest tree in the yard, or at least about the tallest – being as tall as the Eastern White Pines (2-3′ in diameter) near it.  When it drops its leaves it is an utter bitch to get them mulched.  They dropped before turning yellow this year- they usually drop a a mix of green and yellow.  Maybe some nitrogen will leach into the soil and help me get rid of the bare spots.

Jack, just saw that you’re a fellow ginkgo owner. Truth is, aside from the one to two weeks it takes me to get the leaves dealt with I like the tree – it’s the tallest and greenest tree in the yard so it commands respect.

The only leaves I rake are the ones the blower won’t blow out of the bushes.  I gotta say, though, I get a little tired of this or that gas powered lawn machine getting cantankerous.

When I am Queen-for-a-Day, I will start by outlawing leaf blowers.   I have seen the landscapers outside my office, all with leaf blowers, stand on either side of the hedge and push the leaves around for 20 minutes.

It’s kind of how problems are never really handled by our elected officials.

The smell is terrible, too.

I had to rake and bag when I was a kid/teen.    I’m voting for the person with the rake.
