A Japanese engineer created a 28-foot robot modelled after those featured in his favorite childhood show “Mobile Suit Gundam.” The robot, which can be controlled from the cockpit, can walk around, move its torso and even shoot giant foam balls.
Dubbed Mononofu, the massive robot is the brainchild of Japanese engineer Masaaki Nagumo, and was developed at the company Sakakibara Kikai, Reuters reported. The humanoid robot is nearly 30 feet tall and weighs more than 7 tons.
Although a striking sight, the robot isn’t just for looking. It can be controlled by individuals seated in the cockpit. It can move its arms, upper body and fingers, and even walk forward and backward— granted at less than one mile per hour. The robot can also shoot sponge balls into the air at about 87 miles per hour.
Nagumo voiced his desire to turn his completed robot into a potential business venture.
“As an anime-inspired robot that one can ride, I think this is the biggest in the world,” said Nagumo, Reuters reported.
Sakakibara Kikai manufacturers farming equipment, but has also created a number of robots to rent, usually for children’s birthday parties. However, if you want to rent the newest robot, it needs to be dismantled first so it can fit through the warehouse door.
Robot rental is actually a pretty common. In China you can rent a robot to secure your house or office and turn lights on and off for around $475 a month, China.org.cn reported.

If you can get your hands on some pot cream (salve made with arnica and skullcap as well) My friend’s 100 yo mother had a hip replacement and used this on the incision and loved it. You can get made with the cbd strains –(not thc so just pain relief and you don’t get high —although personally I don’t see the point in that.) You can probably find it in DC.

(Bloomberg) –– Donald Trump resumed a full-throated attack on James Comey, hours before the FBI director he fired in May will appear in a network television interview ahead of the release of a book that describes the president in unfavorable terms.
“I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty. I hardly even knew this guy. Just another of his many lies. His ‘memos’ are self serving and FAKE!” Trump said on Twitter early Sunday, one of five Comey-related tweets of the morning.
“Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!” Trump also said in what so far has been the final tweet.

House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy says President Donald Trump shouldn’t fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein because of the ongoing special counsel investigation.
“I don’t see a basis for firing him in the handling of this probe,” the retiring Republican congressman from South Carolina said on “Fox News Sunday.”
The president’s ire over the investigation into possible Trump campaign’s ties with Russia, which Rosenstein stepped in to oversee after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself last year, has grown considerably over the last week after Rosenstein authorized the raid in New York on longtime Trump attorney Michael Cohen.
Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor, noted the decision to conduct the raid had to be made a the “highest level” of the Justice Department and that a “neutral, detached” federal judge “who has nothing to do with politics” had to sign off on the warrant, which was, in part, made on a referral by special counsel Robert Mueller.
“I don’t know what Mueller was supposed to do other than what he did,” Gowdy said, adding the referral was made because Mueller’s team “came in contact with potential criminality.”
“How this is Mueller’s fault just defies logic to me,” Gowdy said, and cautioned the White House against agreeing to a reported plan from former aide Steve Bannon on how to discredit the ongoing federal probe.
“I don’t know who in the hell would take advice from Steve Bannon,” Gowdy said.

There is no entry fee other than saying hello and there is absolutely no reward other than a year of bragging rights while laughing at others with poorer judgement. Donald Trump’s press secretary issued a begrudging clarification on Sunday after being accused of posting a misleading photograph of the president online.
Sarah Sanders was criticised for a tweet on Saturday that appeared to show Trump busily directing missile strikes against Syria from the White House situation room, with vice president Mike Pence at his right hand.
“Last night the President put our adversaries on notice: when he draws a red line he enforces it,” Sanders wrote as a caption.
Keen observers promptly noted that the photograph could not have been taken on Friday as the attacks were mounted – because by then Pence had arrived in Peru to deliver remarks at the Summit of the Americas.
“Fascinating tweet in which Sarah Sanders reveals that Mike Pence was simultaneously in Peru and Washington,” said Walter Shaub, the former director of the office of government ethics. “If this new capability doesn’t scare our enemies, nothing will.”
Sanders on Sunday responded with a new installment from the Trump administration’s series of prickly statements in which an inaccurate remark is simultaneously defended and amended.
It said: “As I said, the President put our adversaries on notice that he enforces red lines with the strike on Syria Friday night. The photo was taken Thursday in the Situation Room during Syria briefing.”

We served this institution out of a commitment to the founding American principles that our democratic republic depends upon the rule of law, that the law must be applied equally, and that no one is above the law. Many of us served with Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein. Those of us who served with these men know them to be dedicated public servants committed to these principles. All of us served with thousands of their peers at the Department, who also swear an oath to serve, defend, and protect the United
States, the Constitution and the American people. We know that there are thousands of public servants at the Department today who serve these principles and all of us.
We are therefore deeply disturbed by the attacks that have been levied against the good men and women of the Department. Not only is it an insult to their public service, but any attempt to corrupt or undermine the even-handed application of the rule of law threatens the foundation of our Republic. We know the people who serve at the Department will bravely weather these attacks and continue to uphold their oaths by doing only what the law dictates. A Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee said she thinks President Donald Trump would never sign legislation protecting the role of Robert Mueller as special counsel in charge of the Russia investigation, but Congress should pass such a bill anyway to send a message to the White House.
Sen. Susan Collins of Maine was responding on “This Week” Sunday to ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos‘ question, “Does Robert Mueller need protection?”
“It would not hurt if we passed legislation to send a message to the White House that we want the investigation to continue,” Collins said. “But the fact is that the president is never going to sign that legislation, and there are some legitimate constitutional concerns about it.”
She added that even “having the discussion in Congress helps send a very strong message that we do not want Mr. Mueller’s investigation interfered with in any way.”

Stephanopoulos asked Collins if besides passing legislation there are “steps the Senate could take to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
Collins said only the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, has the authority to fire Mueller because Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from overseeing the investigation due to his involvement in the Trump 2016 election campaign.
“Even if somehow Mr. Mueller were fired… the investigation is still going to go on, so it would not spell the end of the investigation,” Collins said. “If a new deputy attorney general were nominated by the president, I cannot imagine the Senate confirming that individual without a clear commitment to appoint a new independent counsel.”

Interested to see if Comey’s interviews go well, not liking some of the book excerpts, got out of his lane a bit.
When Willie L. Brown ran for mayor, I know people who voted for him because they thought he would be entertaining. He was his usual corrupt selfish self and a terrible mayor. To some degree I think that is why some people voted for SFB.
I blame Republicans for the falling respect for government and for those who serve. When I was growing up it was a big deal to be involved in local government. Now, most people look at you like you suggested they go dumpster diving. I served on a local regulatory board and a state commission. I thought about running for office and when there was a vacancy on the Board of Supes I put my name in. But in reality, I don’t have the temperament for dealing with the public. I have a bad temper and a short fuse. Fortunately there are lots of ways to participate. It makes me sad that politics has become a professionals game. I can remember when it was volunteers at every level. I liked it better that way.
Although if Trump is what you get with citizen (sic) participation, I’ll just go quietly.
Were the odd quotes from Comey’s book at the insistence of his editor to add something to make him seem personable? Trumpsky’s base isn’t the intended audience.
Did the editor assess things incorrectly, thinking readers would want some trollish bits about Trump?
Was the quote about Comey checking Trump’s hand-size but deeming it within the norm meant to convey that Comey was being fair in his assessment of Trump in other matters?
It will be interesting to see how it plays on TV vs in print.
I hope someone does ask him. As usual those few remarks are getting the most attention because there is a ginormous audience for it. I hope he did it because he knew it would drive SFB crazy (er)
What I don’t understand about Comey and the Clinton Crap was why he made the decision on his own. He could have gotten the same result and gotten someone from DOJ to go along for the ride. I think he did overstep in the Clinton case and strategically made the wrong decision and an unfair one. I guess he will go through life being slightly nauseous.
I will probably watch the interview tonight. However, when I think of Comey, I can’t help but think of the old adage… when one lies with dogs, ya get fleas….

So, if Essential Consultants was the shell company used to pay Stormy Daniels & also make a $250,000 payment to the woman allegedly impregnated by Eliott Broidy, how was that “company” funded?
Cohen claims he personally funded to Stormy Daniels payment, but if multiple payments were filtered through the company, where did the rest (or all) of the money really come from and what other business, if any, was handled through that company?
