This day will see a lot of legal people filling lots of legal paperwork to try and stop the dictator from destroying too much too soon. With his brownshirts out of jail to join with the other packs of brownshirts we should see some good old intimidation tactics soon.

What came out of the disaster of a day is how much Melenia does not want to be around the felon. I am surprised she even stated she would be around the WH.

Only from the commoners were remarks about how insane the old beast really is. Media continues the charade of he is a stable genius, talking and performing like a rational human.

Vance continued his being somewhere on the fringe act. Be cautious when planning to send your boss to the padded cell.

Today our long national nightmare was sworn in and Donald Trump became the 47th President of the United States, it was freezing in Washington D.C. so the events were moved indoors, Donald & Melania and Jill & Joe Biden partook in the traditional transfer of power, Mike Pence was in attendance, Trump gave a speech where he called this the “Golden Age of America,” all of the rich tech guys were invited to sit right behind him, Elon continues to be a real life comic book villain, Carrie Underwood dealt with some technical difficulties before her performance of America the Beautiful, Trump finally came together with the Village People for a performance of YMCA, he took his magic sharpie and signed a stack of executive orders and signed pardons for those convicted of storming the Capitol on January 6th, and Joe Biden went onwards and upwards as he left Washington D.C. today!

San Francisco Chronicle – Trump executive order seeks to erase the existence of transgender people – Moving bigotry to the center of his administration’s agenda, President Donald Trump will seek to deny the existence of transgender people in a stunning executive order enshrining a federal definition of two biological sexes, an incoming official told reporters before Trump was sworn in Monday.

they kinda forgot about these folks, BB, with that EO: wiki says

Intersex people are individuals born with any of several sex characteristics, including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, “do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies”.

Sex assignment at birth usually aligns with a child’s external genitalia. The number of births with ambiguous genitals is in the range of 1:4,500–1:2,000 (0.02%–0.05%).Other conditions involve the development of atypical chromosomes, gonads, or hormones.

Intersex really confuses them. Also, probably due to lack of school learning n biology class, is the XX-XY can also be XXX, XYY or other combinations that do not match the physical appearance.

Although the attack on people with Brown skin continues, the war against Black people is still simmering. So go after the minority with the least support, LGBTQ especially the T.

-3 at 6 AM. But no worries, it will get into the low double digits, all the way to 12 degrees by noon with a high of 16 by 5 PM. Cold not this southern boy’s way of thinking.

And it’s day 2 of the decline to authoritarianism in the US. It was a nice little Republic. Too bad more of us wanted to turn right and give up our right to freedom than wanted to enjoy it.

Yep. Egg prices have gone up from $4.44 to $6.12 per dozen since Election Day. Since FF is taking credit for everything has happened since election day, he gets credit for that too, right? And I wonder what my atorvastatin will cost the next time I have to get a 90 day prescription filled? It cost me exactly $0.00 the last time I got one. Before that, $2.00.

From WaPo re the 14th amendment:

“ The move to end birthright citizenship fulfills a goal long held by conservative groups that say too many migrants are crossing into the United States illegally to have U.S. citizen children. Trump’s order would stop the State Department from issuing passports and direct the Social Security Administration to no longer recognize the babies as U.S. citizens. The order will take effect in the next 30 days.”

You don’t have to be a lawyer to know that you can’t change the US Constitution with an executive order. Stupid fuck.

Looking forward (/s) to the Bondi/Patel reign of terror…. NYT reported that FF said the following:

Nancy Pelosi, former House speaker who authorized impeachment inquiry

Mr. Trump said in September 2024 that Ms. Pelosi “should be prosecuted” for selling Visa stock before the Justice Department filed an antitrust lawsuit against the company. He also said Ms. Pelosi should be prosecuted for security lapses at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“I think Nancy Pelosi is an enemy from within,” Mr. Trump said in October 2024.

The last sentence of the paragraph gets my vote for most disingenuous comment of the past 6 months.

Poobah, I’m finding the quotation function buggy. Maybe it’s me, but I can’t advance beyond the end of a quote to add a comment on the quote without posting then editing. I also notice it doesn’t pick up the first line of a quote. The prior quote should have included the first line that began with a bullet point.

So let’s see.Wapo.

The executive orders include some things that scholars and legal experts say may be out of the reach of the president’s pen and could be tied up in courts or legislatures for years, including ending birthright citizenship, a right embedded in the Constitution and bolstered by a Supreme Court ruling that grants citizenship to anyone born in the United States. Trump also wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America.

For some of the diciest efforts, the administration laid out little of its legal framework for what are certain to be battles sparked by Trump’s actions.“It’s kind of an executive-order shock-and-awe campaign,” said Matthew Dallek, a political historian at George Washington University. “The shock and awe is to send a message to his critics and most importantly to his voters, his supporters, that he’s back, and that he is going to try to deliver on his campaign promises, and he’s going to do it aggressively.”

I figured out a work-around. I threw in 3 returns following the intro line, copied the text, went to the middle return, clicked “, pasted (it didn’t pick up the first of the two paragraphs in the quotation block so I highlighted, cut and pasted it into the block. Then went to the last return and began posting this explanation. Clunkier than the old ” function, but workable. I’m going to try a different sequence.

Pogo

Let’s try this again. Wapo again.(same article)

Trump’s initial turn to executive orders is particularly telling because the Republican Party controls the White House and both houses of Congress — in addition to having a conservative majority on the Supreme Court. But Trump has opted to use his executive-order power to both showcase his efforts and also to prevent them being gummed up by the pace of government, at least for now.

No matter what the ultimate legal outcomes, the executive orders — some of them signed in front of an arena full of cheering admirers Monday evening — give Trump’s supporters a sense of progress. They also shift the political pressure to Trump’s opponents if they try to undo the actions he promised his movement.

Tried that – still ignoring the first paragraph as being part of the quote. The fix is easy so I’m good with it.

“President Donald Trump has criticised a service held at the Washington National Cathedral after he was called out during a sermon.

Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde asked Trump for “mercy”, citing feelings of fear among LGBT and immigrant communities.

Shortly after being sworn in as US President on Monday, Trump said he would make it “official policy” that there are “only two genders – male and female.”

He also vowed to end illegal immigration into the country and said millions of “criminal aliens” would be deported.

Speaking to press afterwards, Trump said he “didn’t think it was a good service”.

“They could do much better”, he added before walking away.

Craig – I keep posting and it keeps disappearing, so I’m posting this part of the USAToday linked in prior posts that evaporated, so trying it without the link to see if that’s the problem.

Anyway, the WH website seems to be editing history.

“But what was missing from the revamped White House website was nearly as noticeable to frequent visitors: pages explaining the Constitution and Bill of Rights, promoting tourism, equity, internships and information about former American presidents of both political parties.”

“Bio pages for former U.S. presidents including Republican stalwarts Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan turned up error messages along
with those of Democrats Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.”

I cannot remember if I ruminated about a possible reason for sfb getting the traitors out of jail around here. The handlers of the orange idiot have created their “brownshirts”.These cult members are the proud boys, and the whatever. Ready to be the strike force for the moron. Stephen Miller has bee working hard. As for sfb, I doubt he is in this universe anymore.
