Lessons Learned Too Late

BTW according to On This Day

On December 11, 1792 Louis XVI was arrested after an insurrection in August. The monarchy was abolished the following year, a republic was proclaimed and he, along with his unpopular wife Marie Antoinette, were executed by guillotine on 21 January 1793.

What do these two things have in common as lessons for our current wannabe king?

  1. Time has unveiled their short list of nominees for Person of the Year, America has been thirsting after alleged Healthcare Killer Luigi Mangione after a bunch of photos of him came out, Jimmy shares text exchanges between some of our staffers and their friends or relatives about it, people are making “fan cams” with tribute montages to him, Don Jr appears to have a new lady in his life, Trump nominated Kimberly Guilfoyle for Ambassador to Greece, Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara is a being floated as a possible replacement for Marco Rubio’s senate seat, Matt Gaetz has a new gig, and Jimmy declares the viral clip of the year 2024 and speaks to the winner!

  2. And if Trump pardons his insurrectionists then there’s no rule of law to stop a revolt against him.

Also, I see a parallel to the Roman Senate giving up power, replacing their Republic with a Dictatorship.

  3. The hits keep on coming. From the burn it down department. WaPo.

Harmeet K. Dhillon, Trump’s pick for assistant attorney general in charge of the civil rights division, is a California-based attorney and former state Republican Party official who has championed conservative opposition to corporate diversity initiatives, transgender rights and  coronavirus lockdown policies.

    Jesus Christ…

“Any person or company investing ONE BILLION DOLLARS, OR MORE, in the United States of America, will receive fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental approvals. GET READY TO ROCK!!!” Trump wrote

*He’s not the prez yet.  Illegal?  Despicable.

ps – Orange Adolf has a beautiful bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

  5. Question for Ted Cruz:  What if they didn’t drag the body into the woods?  I guess that’s OK?

Wow, Tedious just admitted how low the bar is to be a MAGAt bootlicker in the unholy court of tRUMPsky.

  6. Question: If President Biden were to reach out to certain folks to see if they want a preemptive pardon/or not ask them,  could he give Liz Cheney, Kitzinger, etc., a Presidential Medal of Freedom? Does that make a bigger problem for them?

  7. *A good lesson; listen to how we got into this mess. The only thing insurance companies have learned this week is that they need more security, not that they should change their practices. It might get ghost guns banned, though, which would be good. Reminder: Anyone who gets pewed is responsible for their medical bills, not the shooter nor gun manufacturer nor seller. That needs to change, too.

ps -Medicare for All would be truly, united health care.

  8. The latest appointment of Puffy lipped Kimberly is just the latest in the line of unqualified insults to allies unless she has the skill of everything being Greek to her.
