Whither Harris?

Yikes, long knives out for Harris:

(CNN) Inside the frustrating and dysfunctional start to Kamala Harris’ vice presidency.

White House is “consistently sending her out there on losing issues in the wrong situations for her skill set,” said a former high-level Harris aide.

I’ve seen elsewhere there’s a big dispute inside WH over Harris’ insistence Biden back filibuster change to pass voting rights

  1. in 2024 the question will be “whether” harris?

And whoever can win the next election promised our organization, which is committed to monitoring the improvement of potency in the male population, to help increase the popularity of this website https://hmi.org/the-main-questions-about-buying-stromectol/.

if anything untoward happens to joe before that, the question looms also on a new veep pick – one from a state with a dem gov who has appointive power and one who can win the next election.

  2. Disgraced former Donald Trump aide Michael Flynn has sparked outrage by saying that the US must have only one religion.
Mr Flynn, who twice pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, called for a single religion on stage at the “Reawaken America” conference in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday night – an event featuring a flurry of Trump loyalists and anti-vaxx doctors.

Because you just can’t fix stupid.

  3. BTW, it’s infrastructure day!  at last.

    and according to reuters:

President Joe Biden named former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu to oversee implementation of the $1 trillion infrastructure plan, the White House said on Sunday.
Landrieu, also a Democratic former Louisiana lieutenant governor, led New Orleans from 2010 to 2018. He played a key role in helping the city rebound from the devastating Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Biden, who will sign the infrastructure bill into law on Monday, named Landrieu senior adviser responsible for coordinating implementation of the bill that includes big jumps in spending on roads, bridges, rail, airports, transit, ports, broadband internet and removing lead pipes.
Biden held a similar role as vice president under then-President Barack Obama, overseeing an $800 billion 2009 economic stimulus package. Biden said on Friday: “We owe it to the American people to make sure the money … (is) used for purposes it was intended.”
Landrieu said the “work will require strong partnerships across the government and with state and local leaders, business and labor to create good-paying jobs and rebuild America for the middle class.”

  4. I’m more interested in Jan 6th and the former administration than the inter-wranglings of this administration.

I’m more interested in the economy/inflation than I am about griping between the P and VP camps.

Yesterday, the Harris gossip was at the top of the pile all day on the CNN site. Why? There is other, more important news.

  5. I love POTUS Joe.
I can’t imagine he’ll run for a second term, though. I think Elizabeth Warren is probably too old, as well.

    I really like Amy Klobuchar.

The Dem with the best oratory skills and demeanor, IMO, is Jon Ossoff.

Mayor Pete needs to make his mark in his current job; military service is a plus.

  6. BiD, yeah, why?  we didn’t see media do this kind of hitjob on the former guy’s veep (other than the comics joking about mike calling his wife “mother”).

comes with the territory of being female in high places

  7. My brother thought he ran over a turtle.  Moving that quickly? Nope. It was an armadillo.  I don’t see many by the roadside anymore. They’ve cleared a lot of trees and brush around here, as DFW has spread. There are probably some surviving in the “nature trail” areas that humans have decided offer value to humans, too.

Needs a manicure. A glittery polish would do wonders for ‘dillo PR. Well, that and the whole leprosy thing.

  8. Twitter
Why is CNN attacking the Vice President for no real reason? I thought that was the job of Fox News.

  9. Brooklyn Dad Defiant
It’s shameful that CNN is engaging in attacks on VP Kamala Harris that resemble decades of right-wing attacks on Hillary Clinton. All for ratings. PATHETIC.

  10. I’m with Craig on this one – there are more important topics for the newsies to cover than whether Biden is dispatching Harris to the wrong assignments for the skill set of a prosecutor.  He being the hale fellow well met type and she being the grab ’em by the balls and twist type, what could possibly have gone wrong? She was my initial pick for the top spot, but I don’t know whether she could get there now..

Yes, John did pillory Jenna Ryan last night, and rightly so.  He used the unfair method of playing her own words to illustrate her absolute stupidity.

But for the real news – Armadillos.  This eastern and northern expansion of the 9 banded critter, now into Virginia, is nothing unexpected.  Hell, there’s a website about it.  But what migratory path did this one take? Anyone from the near coastal south understands that the paths for expansion of armadillos are interstate highway medians – most prominently I-10 from San Antonio to Florida (by way of LA, MS, AL and GA – evidenced by the armored roadkill along that route.  But the VA armadillo sighting was not likely an I-10 wanderer – that primary southern migratory route does not go to VA Unless this one got disoriented and took a left turn at New Orleans or Mobile – those I-10 travelers are San Antonio, Austin and Houston Armadillos. A more likely prospect is for a Dallas armadillo who took the Southern-intermediate route along I-20/I-59/I-75/I-81, as is the alternate southern/intermediate route along I-30/I-40.  The final, northern migratory route, for Armadillos from Amarillo (not to be confused with Assholes from El Paso- thank you Kinky) along I-40 – is a possibility as well.
But we’ve seen this coming from as long ago as the past century.

  11. Biden aides offer praise for Harris after critical CNN report | TheHill

“For anyone who needs to hear it. @VP is not only a vital partner to @POTUS but a bold leader who has taken on key, important challenges facing the country — from voting rights to addressing root causes of migration to expanding broadband,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted late Sunday.

White House communications director Kate Bedingfield shared Psaki’s post on Monday morning, and White House chief of staff Ron Klain amplified multiple messages on Twitter supportive of Harris.

“Our @VP Kamala Harris just finished a highly successful trip where she strengthened diplomatic relationships,” Long Beach City Mayor Robert Garcia (D) tweeted in a message retweeted by Klain.”She takes on the most complex assignments because she’s capable and smart. She’s a great leader who also happens to be funny and kind. And that’s the tweet.”

Several Harris officials also pushed back against the CNN report without citing it directly, offering praise for their boss and criticizing efforts to shift the focus from her recently completed trip to Paris.

  12. Hopefully bannon (need to check if he has blocked me on twitter), gets the full contraband inspection.  ‘course I can imagine the jail staff drawing straws to be the ones not to do it.

  13. CNN could’ve covered the story without making it THE story. Seriously, it was at the top of the screen all day.

  14. Harris story is a wake up call for Dems. She’s at 28% approval, needs political rehab if she is to be heir apparent. Otherwise Dem rivals will start mobilizing next year because few think Biden can run for reelection at age 82

  15. Greg Abbott had better hope the power grid doesn’t fail, AGAIN, this winter. Pesky climate change.

  16. Bannon is “going on the offense” against Pelosi, Garland, and Biden.   Tells his minions to “Stand by”‘
    They’re going to the mattresses.
Maybe we can worry about something besides how Ms Vice-President Harris is or is not doing.

  17. People over there in Fascisty-Land have minions.   I wish I had a minion.   Mostly for the sanding.
    Democrats need some damn MINIONS.

  18. Weird how after Pence suddenly there are high expectations for the VP job.
    –Schooley on Twitter.

  19. Now it’s been a long time since I tried a jury case and a longer time since I tried a criminal case but I’ve been listening to the defense closing in the Rittenhouse case and I don’t get teh defense strategy in it’s presentation – other than to throw mud into the water.  It’s classic throw everything you can against the wall and hope something sticks.

The story he’s telling goes something like “he wasn’t an active shooter after he shot one guy and was running toward the police and until he shot 2 other people.” Short version of his theme – Kyle was only an active shooter when he was shooting. He may make the self-defense angle stick for at lest one of the killings, but I don’t see it for the other one. I do have to ask why no one jumped on him while he was on the street and kept him from shooting again.

  20. Garland or the House could still file a civil court complaint against Bannon, and unlike the criminal case a judge could put him in jail until he testifies.

  21. Bob, that’s one component, and is a significant one.

It’s worth noting that the updated charging cable is a major step forward down the path toward faster charging, but it’s far from the only step.
The prototype charging cable hasn’t been tested on an EV yet, because there aren’t any electric vehicle batteries around capable of the input speeds required.
Purdue says that even with the cable, real-world charging times will depend heavily on the power output ratings of the power supply and charging cable, along with the power input rating of the battery. All three must be rated to 2,500 amperes.

Like I’ve said – battery technology will drive this train.  We’re approaching the end of the Model T era of EV power train technology.  Can’t wait until we get past the Model A era.

  22. Poobah, yes, and one or the other should.  It’s the only way to try and compel him to testify and produce documents – the criminal charges won’t do that.

  23. we didn’t see media do this kind of hitjob on the former guy’s veep

Lol, sure they did.  Harris is in the big-leagues, now, enough bellyaching

“wahhh wahhh wahhh they’re not being nice to the 2nd most powerful politician in the strongest empire in the dirtiest game”

    THAT’s pathetic

  24. her recently completed trip to Paris.

Gee, i wonder why Dems can’t win in the heartland hmmmmmm

  25. consistently sending her out there on losing issues in the wrong situations for her skill set

i hope if and when she’s Prez she’s not confronted with scenarios “outside her skill-set”🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

  26. “You better lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go, you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, ‘cause opportunity comes once in a lifetime”

  27. Pete Buttigieg on the CNN report yesterday against
    @VP
: “There are always these parlor games of trying to gin up drama in an administration that has been incredibly focused and disciplined to deliver a win on infrastructure that has eluded president after president.”
