  1. D’ump looks like a brat at the little kiddies’ table in that picture.  “but I want more punkin’ pie! 4 slices at the pie aren’t enough!!!”

  2. picture this

D’ump on inauguration eve resigns so Vapotus can pardon him but VP-now-P (having taken the oath from clarence standing by) declares:

“no, donald, it would be a sin; God & mother told me so.”

  4. his silly tantrum at his little kid’s desk had me laughing to sleep, right up there with Rudy’s dye streak and the amateur cell-to-microphone presidential address at the Gettysburg hotel — if we had that in Lincoln’s day, he could have saved a train trip

SNL needs to come back, so much material

  5. Craig

He was probably mad at the troops.  Some people were surprised by the almost 80% vote for Biden, but they hadn’t been reading the Military Times.  It takes a lot for a GOP President to piss off the military, but Trump managed to get it done.

The real patriots don’t like this POTUS who represents the phony ones.

  6. Looking at the child desk picture real close discloses that something is missing.  The Oval Office carpet.  The green thing is on bare floor.  Some of the viewers have asked questions such as, “where is the Oval Office carpet?” and “why is SFB not sitting at the Resolute Desk?” along with “why is he doing this?”.  With some comments such as “I hope he did not steal the carpet to put in his cell”.  “Did the toddler have an accident and the carpet was sent out for cleaning?”.  Yup, right up to the bitter end the guy does stupid stuff.

  7. craig, we aren’t the only ones who noticed according to the guardian:

For a US president obsessed by size – his hands, his wealth, his crowds – Donald Trump made something of a bold U-turn on Thursday night by addressing the country from a desk seemingly designed for a leprechaun.

Trump said on Thursday he would leave the White House if the electoral college votes for the Democratic president-elect, Joe Biden – the closest he has come to admitting defeat – but his furniture stole the limelight.

While he harangued reporters and repeated unfounded allegations of electoral fraud, the internet zeroed in on his unusually small desk. Some called it symbolic of Trump’s diminished stature, some wondered if it was photoshopped (it wasn’t), most just laughed.

The actor Mark Hamill tweeted: “Maybe if you behave yourself, stop lying to undermine a fair election & start thinking of what’s good for the country instead of whining about how unfairly you are treated, you’ll be invited to sit at the big boy’s table.”

[continues with more tweets mocking him]

  8. BB, wouldn’t be surprised if the resolute desk & carpet wind up at mal an ego along side the andrew jackson portrait and a gross of sharpie pens courtesy of taxpayers

  9. nice touch (and touche` to scotus & anti-maskers & so-called christians of d’umpster world) from francis in oped at NYTimes:

Pope Francis: A Crisis Reveals What Is in Our Hearts
To come out of this pandemic better than we went in, we must let ourselves be touched by others’ pain.

    [preliminary niceties to begin with]

With some exceptions, governments have made great efforts to put the well-being of their people first, acting decisively to protect health and to save lives. The exceptions have been some governments that shrugged off the painful evidence of mounting deaths, with inevitable, grievous consequences. But most governments acted responsibly, imposing strict measures to contain the outbreak.
Yet some groups protested, refusing to keep their distance, marching against travel restrictions — as if measures that governments must impose for the good of their people constitute some kind of political assault on autonomy or personal freedom! Looking to the common good is much more than the sum of what is good for individuals. It means having a regard for all citizens and seeking to respond effectively to the needs of the least fortunate.
It is all too easy for some to take an idea — in this case, for example, personal freedom — and turn it into an ideology, creating a prism through which they judge everything.
    […]
To come out of this crisis better, we have to recover the knowledge that as a people we have a shared destination. The pandemic has reminded us that no one is saved alone. What ties us to one another is what we commonly call solidarity. Solidarity is more than acts of generosity, important as they are; it is the call to embrace the reality that we are bound by bonds of reciprocity. On this solid foundation we can build a better, different, human future.

  10. George Mason, delegate to Constitutional Convention, said in 1788 that a President should not have power to pardon because he might “pardon crimes which were advised by himself.  It may happen, at some future day, that he will establish a monarchy, and destroy the republic.”

  11. I actually hope Trump does pardon himself because it would give the Biden DOJ an excuse to indict him, the only way the question gets litigated. Supreme Court might go along with it, but not guaranteed. Also, a pardon admits guilt.

  12. Craig – you are correct.  It is the Diplomatic Reception room.  But the carpet is definitely not the one that should be there.  That green thing looks like someone stole the rug from a NFL stadium artificial turf.

  13. Jamie, i thought that might be the bill signing photo op desk, never seen it used in this manner. I’ll bet Trump is chopping heads today after seeing all the mocking coverage

  14. “a pardon admits guilt”

this needs to be  acknowledged loud & clear in regard to flynn’s and any others D’ump pardons

  15. The dogwood tree just downstairs from our bedroom window was stunningly beautiful in this morning’s clear sunlight. KumCho and I chose the diminutive tree’s location almost twenty-years ago.

  16. Flatus…  that’s great…  enjoy those blossoms!

Craig….  lol on that dandy tune!

  17. Dogwood is a cool tree.   I still have a walking stick I cut from a dogwood limb in my dad’s yard in 1972.  Nice that it’s managed to avoid disappearing along the way.

  18. Nixon was pardoned  by Gerry Ford in ’74. Leonard Pitts expresses his opinion against Mr Biden doing the same favor for Pres Drumpf in this morning’s Miami Herald’s opinion section

  19. I thought maybe it was the Resolute End Table, but then decided it had to be the Dissolute Rotten Little Kid Table……at any rate I hope to learn someday exactly how it came into use for Thanksgiving, 2020.   Someone will go down in history for that one.

  20. Once Howard Dean gave out his gnarly scream,
Once Dukakis tried on that helmet,
Once Dan Quayle put an “e” on the tater,
Once Gary Hart set sail on the “MonkeyBusiness”,
Once Jimmy Carter got a “there you go again” and Mondale got tagged with youth and inexperience,
They had all gathered at the point of no return.
The photos show a tiny little man at a tiny little table having a tiny little emotional outburst…..
     Isn’t that special.

Federal appeals court rejects Trump request to block certification of Pennsylvania’s election results

    By

    Jon Swaine

A federal appeals court on Friday rejected President Trump’s request for an emergency injunction to overturn the certification of Pennsylvania’s election results.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals said that the Trump campaign’s challenge of a U.S. district court’s decision had “no merit.”

The court’s sharply worded opinion was written by Judge Stephanos Bibas, who was appointed to the court by Trump.

“Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here,” Bibas wrote.
    (…)

Yeah, some courts think evidence to support allegations is important.  Somehow it seems Dumbass’ crack legal team missed civil procedure and evidence in law school.  Please, please, please tell me Trudy will personally argue the case should SCOTUS accept the appeal.

  22. I think it would be a very bad thing if S F B were pardoned or in any way let off by Biden
Also they don’t have to make a priority but some attention should be paid to the hidden damage Trump has caused.  And of course his enablers
I hope it wasn’t the Israelies   Probably a gift to Fat ass from Bebe

  23. BB, that carpet looks bad due to a vacuum job that seems to have been rushed, spotty or ruined by a bunch of folks running around setting up tv lights, tree and teeny toddler table.  what’s still vacuumed properly looks lush and well suited to the scenic wall paper.   most likely this was another spur-of-the-moment d’ump idea not well thought out.

  24. Sigh.  Maryland is under general orders from the gov and local under county execs and city mayors.  Stay at home and wear a mask is pretty much what should be happening.  I made my monthly run to the U.S. Naval Academy base exchange and commissary, which is a slog through historic Annapolis.  It was packed with people and vehicles.  People everywhere, at least almost all were wearing masks.  But, it was packed.   At least the BX and commissary were less messy.  Military do follow orders.

  25. What happened to the furniture that was there?   Shouldn’t all moving vans be inspected?

  26. Why do we care if the South leaves the union? I think it might be a good idea.

  27. NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert had fun with it. What’s the song? “Wonderwall” and “Loser” were good guesses. Ha!

  28. Over the last few days I have seen questions like “what is Kracken?”.  If it was on the Trail, here is one answer – Kracken is a brand of spiced rum.  If the word is used in some other application I do not know it.

  29. BB, what’s crackin’?  is on the order of “what’s going on?”

“cracking” is not used much anymore except in phrases like “that’s cracking good” and “we’re late and we’d better get crackin'”

  30. The party of life –
Barr is helping to bring back hanging and firing squads.
The cherry on top , as pardons flow to flunkies , the Feds will execute  5 men before Jan. 20th.

Meanwhile ,  one 9/11 body count clicks by every 2 to 3 days.

  31. “Luke Skywalker”  has taken his light saber to the “Tangerine Vader”.

“Star Wars” hero Mark Hamill helped spread the label “Diaper Don” across the Twitter universe after his real-life nemesis Donald Trump held court from behind a tiny desk.

“Maybe if you behave yourself, stop lying to undermine a fair election & start thinking of what’s good for the country instead of whining about how unfairly you are treated, you’ll be invited to sit at the big boy’s table,” Hamill tweeted Friday morning.

  32. Luke is right , we should take every chance to kick this galactic freak , every chance we get.  He’s wounded , and he has the krama & the jackals  coming after him.

  33. Looking for Cher –
This is what we were promised , slick cars and STD free fun.  Paul Riviera, and the Radars at the base of our ski lifts.   A phone booth on every corner  so we all can keep in touch.  And gasoline @ 29 cents a gallon forever.

This hot mess was sold, and came on every weekday afternoon in the summer around 4:30 .  They got a real ear worm theme song   ………….
Oh Baby Come On  …………..  Let Me Take You Where the Action Is
Oh Baby Come On  …………..  Let Me Take You Where the Action Is
It’s a treat to beat your feet  where the action is.

In this case , the term “action”  is girls dancing  on the beach.

  34. I  find it really insane  that  70 million people , many  who  barely got out of high school.  Are tossing their more highly educated  Americans , that is nurses, highly trained techs , support staff , and  doctors into the furnace.
All because a con man  told them wearing a mask would make them less “free” . Well one thing is true , death will certainly set you free.
This is not the “party of life”, this is a cult of fetus  worshipers.

  35. When Obama  was elected .  The rumor here was that he by a stroke of a pin , was about to ban certain  ammos .
    Ammo sales  took off .
Now who made money off that  ?
    Not Obama .
He never breathed a word about America’s supply of bullets.
The GOP is not a  vision of the future , it is a fevered snake pit of rumors , morons,  and mental illness.

  36. Claw back –

A North Carolina donor who gave $2.5 million to a group promising to help President Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the general election is now suing to get his money back.
Fred Eshelman, who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Republicans in 2020, according to Federal Election Commission data, says in his lawsuit that the organization True the Vote had not fulfilled the conditions of his monetary gift.
The organization disputes the lawsuit’s claims as “not accurate.”

    REPORT
Abrupt shift to hotter and drier climate over inner East Asia beyond the tipping point

    Abstract
Unprecedented heatwave-drought concurrences in the past two decades have been reported over inner East Asia. Tree-ring–based reconstructions of heatwaves and soil moisture for the past 260 years reveal an abrupt shift to hotter and drier climate over this region. Enhanced land-atmosphere coupling, associated with persistent soil moisture deficit, appears to intensify surface warming and anticyclonic circulation anomalies, fueling heatwaves that exacerbate soil drying. Our analysis demonstrates that the magnitude of the warm and dry anomalies compounding in the recent two decades is unprecedented over the quarter of a millennium, and this trend clearly exceeds the natural variability range. The “hockey stick”–like change warns that the warming and drying concurrence is potentially irreversible beyond a tipping point in the East Asian climate system.

Get used to it ,  a freight train  of pain  will pull into the station  every day.
And pain has a very large  appetite .  There  is a great chance  it will eat us to pieces.

  39. Here’s the best rock album made in my lifetime, indisputably (the whole album will play on this page if you click the ‘arrow’ button):

  40. Radiohead is “the Beatles” of my lifetime- everything released after that album is derivative of it

  41. This life has chewed me to pieces , and now I am on a bench  lost to any effort to change my fate .
Nature does this , the old bulls  wonder off and die.
This does not mean I like this idea  when it comes to ME.

  42. Daly is popularly attributed in Marine Corps lore, on June 6, 1918,[3]as yelling, “Come on, you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever?” to his men during the Battle of Belleau Wood. Daly later told a Marine Corps historian that his words were “For Christ’s sake men—come on! Do you want to live forever?”
