speaking of masked men – they’re coming your way soon

lizzie does an oped in NYTimes today:

Americans stayed at home and sacrificed for months to flatten the curve and prevent the spread of the coronavirus. That gave us time to take the steps needed to address the pandemic — but Donald Trump squandered it, refusing to issue national stay-at-home guidelines, failing to set up a national testing operation and fumbling production of personal protective equipment. Now, Congress must again act as this continues to spiral out of control.
Those who frame the debate as one of health versus economics are missing the point. It is not possible to fix the economy without first containing the virus. We need a bold, ambitious legislative response that does four things: brings the virus under control; gets our schools, child care centers, businesses, and state and local governments the resources they need; addresses the burdens on communities of color; and supports struggling families who don’t know when the next paycheck will come.

rand paul rebuking trump troopers.  about time GOPers speak up.

@RandPaul
We cannot give up liberty for security. Local law enforcement can and should be handling these situations in our cities but there is no place for federal troops or unidentified federal agents rounding people up at will.

the rump farts a roar as reported by the hill:

Trump on Monday listed a number of cities where he said he is considering sending federal agents as he praised the response in Portland, which has come under wide criticism amid reports that agents have apprehended protesters without identifying themselves and that some have been held for hours without being charged or read their Miranda rights.
“In Portland, they’ve done a fantastic job,” Trump said Monday.
“I’m going to do something — that, I can tell you,” he also said in response to a question about reports that his administration might send federal law enforcement to other major cities dealing with demonstrations. “Because we’re not going to let New York and Chicago and Philadelphia and Detroit and Baltimore and all of these — Oakland is a mess.”

So the SFB CV briefings will resume today. Oh goody, Lardius has had an epiphany?  Nah. He’ll use it to tease a new flood of EOs that will try to forward his backward looking agenda not related to CV19 but that enlarge executive power and strip Congress and the states of their constitutional powers and Americans of their rights that aren’t in the religion clause of the first amendment and the bear arms clause of the second.

I for one am waiting for the SFB belching show.  He wants to start at 5pm EDT, the time most Eastern media stations start the news hours.  Possibly because he expects all stations to show his dystopian show from beginning to end.  They, including faux, have been limiting live streaming of the loser, it takes too much to cover up the laughter in the studios.  The first exhibition might last a reasonable five minutes, but after a couple of shows you can expect SFB to take the mic and never give it up for hours.  Hours and hours of spewing hate, lies and used toilet water.  Yup.  It should be a real fine show, mostly nothing about the pandemic, but a lot about the alternative universe the remains of a brain live in.

According to an article in WaPo this morning:

“I just think the people want to hear from the president of the United States,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told reporters on Friday. She told Fox News earlier Friday that some of her White House colleagues did not want Trump to return to the briefing room — confirming publicly the kind of internal dissension previous administrations would have tried to keep out of the public domain.

No Kellyanne, “the people” want no such thing. Lardius wants to have a platform so he can hear himself talk and watch his stupidity looped on Faux. End of story.

From the WaPo article linked above:

Scott Reed, a veteran Republican operative and chief strategist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said a return to the coronavirus briefings could be an opportunity for the Trump administration to “stop running down unimportant rabbit trails.”

“The voters care about a solution to the virus,” he said in an email. “Good move that the President is restarting the briefings — a real chance to deliver a sharp message, repeat it over and over, and exit stage right for the medical pros.”

But Sarah Matthews, a White House spokeswoman, said that in addition to speaking “directly to the American people” about the federal coronavirus response, Trump would use the daily briefings to discuss “other pertinent issues.”

Well that about sums up my point above.

Texas lost 1,000 in the last, ten days.   They weren’t all elderly and they weren’t all POC, but they were all killed from the mishandling and out-right lying of tRUMP.   There is no need to cover SFB’s campaign on the lawn today or any other day.  Just give us the highlight reel of lies.
I’ve always wanted to outlaw leaf blowers, but reading that protesters are using it against tear gas attacks makes me want to buy one.
It’s amazing that tRUMP threatens to send his goons to the streets of other cities, but nothing is being done to stop it.  It is illegal.  tRUMP needs to be impeached, again, and removed from office.   “Most patriotic” is newspeak for wanna-be dictator who is taking tips from Poo-tin.
I love Elizabeth Warren and, at least for today, I’m glad Rand Paul exits.

tRUMP continues to import goods from a China.  Whaaa?  He’s not  afraid it will be infected with the  “invisible, Chinese virus” as long as he gets a good deal.
The list of lies told by SFB is long.  The list of ethics violations by SFB and family grows.  Now, he sends unidentifiable goons to the streets of America, violating our constitutional rights.

There are only 2.4 million people in the Portland statistical region.

trump’s army of border patrollers would get swamped in NYC, CHI, DET, OAKLAND or PHILLIE. Those aren’t mere villages like Portland.

It’s time for another attack on trump’s right side :
If C19 is a commie Chinese plot, why is trump still importing commie Chinese stuff ?
Is that the way a real tough guy acts when his people get killed ?
Would Dirty Harry by chips from commie China ?
Enquiring people want to know !
Lock them ALL up.

comey sees what i see:  the Rump just wants ad footage of violence in the streets.

here are the concluding lines from
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/07/21/james-comey-trump-portland-federal-officers/?hpid=hp_save-opinions-float-right-4-0_opinion-card-a-right:homepage/story-ans

“So it’s dumb and self-defeating on many levels for the feds to engage the way they have in Portland. No sensible law enforcement leader would approach it this way. Which begs a question: Is televised conflict the goal?
What better way for Trump to demonstrate to his followers that he is “your president of law and order” than to deploy highly visible federal officers, and in a way that is sure to invite violent conflict, which, of course, demonstrates the need for a law-and-order president?
And on it goes. The only thing damaged in the process will be the United States and the federal law enforcement agencies our country needs. Yet again, the craving of our president for reelection seems to override everything.”

jimmy boy, he knows he’ll go to jail (or at least be dragged thru the system enough to cost him money & property) when he is no longer prez.  so he’s hanging on until he can manuever a pardon or a dictatorship.

also Rump remembers what happened in ’68 and is trying to replicate the riots that turned off/scared voters.

Biggish News

basher ‘the trasher’ assad’s ba’ath party won 175 out of 250 seats in Parliament  in this last election. Imagine that. The winning political slogan was, Syria Is Better Without Syrians. The officially-approved opposition’s officially approved slogan, Make Assad Great Again, came in a distant second.

Voter turnout was 33% according to the election committee, probably mostly from the community of the Voting Dead, the ethnic group most amenable to basher’s policies.

Ergo, basher will continue in his role as the big head on the sides of the (mostly) undamaged buildings in the country. So, in all maybe six big heads in all ?

WOW ! snotter tom cotton (r-AR) claims that the protesters of today are like the confederates, who started the Civil War. Imagine, jeff davis, robert e. lee, alexander stevens, ‘stonewall’ jackson, nathan bedford forrest, p.g.t. beauregard, eddie pettus and w.c.quantrill are the spittin’ images of Black Lives Matter.

We can use this bright boy’s ads against him in AR, and against trump’s riots in the streets meme from IA to WI to PA to FL to TX to NE and every point in between.

Mayhappen, we should carve images of the 4 founders of BLM onto the side of Stone Mountain, including the one who seceded from the group – because the other three ‘are racists.’

Accidentally  saw a few seconds of whatever SFB is doing at a podium.  From his stance there is something wrong with his right arm.  He does not use it, he rests on  his left arm.  The right arm is more like a pointer or weight.  Some actions may look real good, but that is our natural action to fill in the blanks when observing someone else.  I notice because my right hand is damaged and I do the  same thing.  But I doubt SFB someone had an injury in the military which  resulted in losing a lot of the wrist bones.

The whitest nan said he and mommy would send kids back to school if they still had school-aged kids.  That is either science-denying idiocy or complete BS.

So, let’s Zapruder this.  He had to use both hands to lift a glass in Tulsa…and I believe that’s not the first time he did that.  He had a surprise trip to the doc several months ago.  He had trouble walking down a ramp.  He slurs and mixes up words, not that he’s ever been a wordsmith.   It’s said that he cheats at golf, but we don’t know what his stance and swing look like.   My diagnosis: He’s a bat-crap crazy, megalomaniac who may have reduced blood flow to the brain, possibly the result of mini-strokes.

Or, trump has borderline personality (dissociative) disorder and is just on the edge of murdering people with his bare hands and dentures.
He may have no pets because as a kid he tortured and killed family pets with his bare hands. Or, maybe as a boy fred tortured and killed family pets with his bare hands and dentures.
Whatever is amiss with him, it’s not small. It’s not even medium or large. It’s Giant Economy-Sized.

bId – I have seen several shoots of SFB trying to hit a golf ball.  Sometimes he looks like an amateur with a lot hours of practice.  Other times he looks like a bloated blimp slashing at the grass.  The truth is probably that he has some skills at the game, but not something he could brag about if he was normal.

AOC says a House Republican accosted her on the steps outside the Capitol Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., reportedly approached Ocasio-Cortez as she was walking up the Capitol steps Monday and told her she was “disgusting,

“You are out of your freaking mind,” Yoho said to the congresswoman, who then told him that he was “rude,” said the report, which said their conversation was overheard by a reporter.

Joined by fellow Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, Yoho then walked down the steps and said, “f—ing bitch,” The Hill reported.
