Giuliani accused of offering to sell Trump pardons for $2 million each in new lawsuit (nbcnews.com)

A woman who said she worked for Rudy Giuliani during the last two years of the Trump administration alleged in a wide-ranging lawsuit that Giuliani, the former president’s personal attorney, discussed selling presidential pardons and detailed plans to overturn the 2020 election results.

In a 70-page complaint filed in state court in New York on Monday, Noelle Dunphy said that after Giuliani hired her in January 2019 he sexually assaulted and harassed her, refused to pay her wages and often made “sexist, racist, and antisemitic remarks,” adding that she had recordings of numerous interactions with him.

[…]

Dunphy alleged in her suit that Giuliani talked about presidential pardons. She said Giuliani claimed to have “immunity” and told “her that he was selling pardons for $2 million, which he and President Trump would split.” The lawsuit did not suggest any pardons were sold.

Justin Kelton, Dunphy’s attorney, said on MSNBC that there is not a recording of the pardon conversation. “We do expect that it will be corroborated in other ways.” He noted that the complaint alleges that another person was present for that conversation — who Kelton said was Lev Parnas, a Giuliani associate — and that Dunphy’s attorneys would like to speak to Parnas about it.

Recently watched a comprehensive documentary on Rudy’s life that was more interesting than I expected. So many of his former friends and staff said he was always basically nuts, and an authoritarian egomaniac.

One said, “Rudy is Mussolini just waiting for a balcony”.

As for his reputation as a crusader against the mafia, this doc claims many of his cases were overturned on appeal for prosecutorial misdeeds.

Roodie. Who’d a thunk it? Fucking lunatic gonna do what a fucking lunatic gonna do.  And then there was the Durham report. One guilty plea from a mid level agent leading to 400 hours of community service. What a blockbuster. (What a load of horse shit) WaPo  Special counsel John Durham has issued a long-awaited report that sharply criticizes the FBI for investigating the 2016 Trump campaign based on “raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence”— a conclusion that may fuel rather than end partisan debate about politicization within the Justice Department and FBI.   Durham was tapped in 2019 by President Donald Trump’s attorney general, William P. Barr, to reexamine how government agents hunted for possible links between the Trump campaign and Russian efforts to interfere in the presidential election. The very appointment — of an investigator to reinvestigate the investigators — led to significant criticism from current and former law enforcement officials.  … Read more »

There’s  a wide swath of Americans applauding these “open carry by any damn fool who can get one” laws, little realizing how stupid these laws are with all these weird-ass people out in public armed and dangerous……they might want to visit with a street policeman to get his views about the situation.   But anyway there’s about to be a wide swath of Americans who want to drop a ton of bricks on all of the gun freaks as they begin to see the evidence of the stupidity of the laws out in THEIR streets and subdivisions.   The freaks yell that “guns make us safer” but will soon be forced to see the error of their ways.  Too bad about all those folks caught in the crossfire while we wait.

Sturg,  chuckled at your comments about the Original Drifters last night, and went and checked out the wiki article. 39 past members, and only 1 Clyde McPhatter – who missed the last 69 years (army, drugs/alcohol/death).  Hard to think that the voice who launched them was a guy I’m guessing was gone before you met the ODs – fronted by Bill Pinkney would be my guess. The name that jumped out at me was the one, the only, Ben E. King. I wonder if the Tar Baby is on the list of banned books or the required reading list…. Hmmm. Did my time in FL until LP grew bored of Disney – did one or two more years of Universal then around his 8th grad year travel sports came a calling and I was spared the mouse since then. Haven’t been to FL since. Haven’t been to TX for about… Read more »

The original Uncle Remus stories have found a place on many banned lists.  Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that Joel Chandler Harris was simply retelling many of the African trickster stories he heard from slaves as a teenager.

Jamie, I read a couple or three of the books when I was a kid – best I recall my Grandaddy had a few of them on his bookshelves, and I saw Song of the South as a kid. I remember how funny the segments were.

Trump on eve of Uraine invasion: “This is genius. Oh, that’s wonderful. Putin used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.”
