  1. so what’s new?  that’s his m.o.  he scammed 1/3 of the whole country in 2016 grifting campaign donors and all the taxpayers for past 4 years charging them to pay rent & travel expenses for golf and ego trips to prop up his properties.

  2. some more bits of scripture for D’ump – something about love thy neighbor and turn your other fat cheek even if they don’t love you

    wapo:

Next-door neighbors of Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla., that he has called his Winter White House, have a message for the outgoing commander in chief: We don’t want you to be our neighbor.
That message was formally delivered Tuesday morning in a demand letter delivered to the town of Palm Beach and also addressed to the U.S. Secret Service asserting that Trump lost his legal right to live at Mar-a-Lago because of an agreement he signed in the early 1990s when he converted the storied estate from his private residence to a private club. The legal maneuver could, at long last, force Palm Beach to publicly address whether Trump can make Mar-a-Lago his legal residence and home, as he has been expected to do, when he becomes an ex-president after the swearing-in of Joe Biden on Jan. 20.
The contretemps sets up a potentially awkward scenario, unique in recent history, in which a former Oval Office occupant would find himself having to officially defend his choice of a place to live during his post-presidency. It also could create a legal headache for Trump because he changed his official domicile to Mar-a-Lago, leaving behind Manhattan, where he lived before being elected president and came to fame as a brash, self-promoting developer. (Trump originally tried to register to vote in Florida using the White House in Washington as his address, which is not allowed under Florida law. He later changed the registration to the Mar-a-Lago address.)
In the demand letter, obtained by The Washington Post, an attorney for the Mar-a-Lago neighbors says the town should notify Trump that he cannot use Mar-a-Lago as his residence. Making that move would “avoid an embarrassing situation” if the outgoing president moves to the club and later has to be ordered to leave, according to the letter sent on behalf of the neighbors, the DeMoss family, which runs an international missionary foundation.
For years, various neighbors have raised concerns about disruptions, such as clogged traffic and blocked streets, caused by the president’s frequent trips to the club. Even before he was president, Trump created ill will in the town by refusing to comply with even basic local requirements, such as adhering to height limits for a massive flagpole he installed, and frequently attempting to get out of the promises he had made when he converted Mar-a-Lago into a private club.

Query: would D’ump presidential library located at mal an ego (likely an unused closet) cure his legal problem with palm bch; that is, is it okay for a former prez to have their legal residence at same address as their library?

  3. Dumbass’ problem is that he entered into an agreement with the town of Palm Beach to allow turning Mal an Ego into a club from a residence. Question is whether Palm Beach can enforce that agreement. According to a guest on mojo Palm Beach aggressively enforces its code provisions, which is likely what the effect of that agreement is – Maybe he’ll let Rudy try to argue the case once he gets sued by the town of Palm Beach other residents of the town of Palm Beach then force those provisions of the agreement that prevent him from making Mal an Ego a residence for in excess of 21 days in a year. He’s been so successful with the election litigation it strikes me as a no brainer.

  4. Pogo, wonder how the club will fare anyway. Maybe another reason to pretend he’s running again, keep membership up. But one perk will be gone. Last time they raised dues they included a ride on Air Force One.

  5. NOt onlly can he no longer offer rides on Air Force One, but the neighbors have already requested removal of the helicopter pad and refused installation of a boat dock.

  6. Prosecuting Donald Trump: the question that will roil Biden’s first year

When Biden is sworn in as president on January 20, his in-tray will include a pandemic that continues to kill thousands of Americans each day and an economic crisis that has left millions out of work. Both those challenges rank among the most significant faced by any incoming US president. But Mr Biden will be forced to tackle a third issue that may define his presidency as much as the health and livelihoods of the American people: the fate of his predecessor. Donald Trump will leave the White House with potential personal criminal liability unlike any commander-in-chief since Richard Nixon, who was saved by a controversial and sweeping pardon gifted by his successor Gerald Ford after he resigned in disgrace.
Mr Trump, who will depart after attempting to subvert his loss in a free and fair election, is unlikely to receive any similar such clemency from Mr Biden. Since first exploding on to the political scene in 2015, Mr Trump has tested and twisted the US political system to breaking point, serving as a one-man crash course on the US constitution, legal and ethical norms, and the effectiveness or lack thereof of the guardrails on the president’s power. Now his departure from office will force Washington to confront yet another question rarely asked in US history: should a former president be prosecuted?

  7. Hard to say about the health of Mar a Lago as a golf club.  Looking at its pre 2017 numbers might give you an idea,  I suspect it’s doing fine and will – upper echelon clubs tend to be pretty well membered up.  It’s amazing to me – initiation fees of a couple hundred grand and dues of $1000 and up per month is beyond my means.  Not sure what the Dumbass Club figures are, but I suspect they are in that range.

  8. I hope that Joe’s directive to each of his Cabinet and agency heads is that they immediately review every appointment made in the past 6 months and if they are not protected by civil service rules that they be replaced with competent people loyal to Biden.  He should fire Lewandowski in his inaugural speech.

Oh, and Tony, Biden should absolutely not pardon D’ump for anything. He doesn’t have to get involved with any decisions made by his AG or the US Attorneys he appoints, but a pardon? Hell no.

  9. Glad to see Jennifer Granholm is getting a leadership role   She is wonderful  too bad she was born in Canada

  10. people for the american way:

Today, People For the American Way’s Latinos Vote! program announced a six-figure Spanish-language radio ad buy across Georgia, focused on the importance of electing Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to the U.S. Senate in the January 5 runoff elections.
Ads began airing today, and the ad campaign goes through Election Day, Jan. 5.
One of the ads released today has the voice of legendary civil and labor rights leader Dolores Huerta, a People For Board Member. The additional ad released today focused on the issue of immigration and DACA, one that is very important to Georgia Latino voters. Two additional ads are also scheduled to be released.
    […]
There are an estimated 32 million eligible Latino voters nationwide and an estimated 291,000 eligible Latino voters in Georgia, which represents four percent of all eligible voters in the state–enough to turn the tide in favor of both Ossoff and Warnock. Exit polls had the Latino vote at seven percent of the electorate for the November general election.
“On January 5, we are going to win these Senate seats and the Latino community will be key to our victory,” said People For the American Way President Ben Jealous. “Georgians have watched for years as state Republicans try to keep voters from casting ballots. But no amount of suppression can make up for the frustration of the tens of thousands who have lost loved ones and livelihoods to a pandemic Donald Trump continues to downplay. Georgians have had enough.”
“November’s presidential election showed that when you prioritize Latino communities, we will flex our political muscles at the polls,” People For the American Way board member, civil rights and labor leader Dolores Huerta. “Latinos in Georgia and across the country have watched Sen. Loeffler and Sen. Perdue endorse and help install racist and xenophobic policies under the Trump administration. We know who they are and we know it is time for them to go. Latinos are more motivated than ever to get out and vote for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in January.”
“Latino voters played a huge role in turning Georgia blue in November,” said People For the American Way Political Director Lizet Ocampo. “Latinos Vote! and People For the American Way reached out and engaged the Latino community across Georgia during the presidential election and we’re doing it again for these Senate races. We are going to win on January 5.”

  11. foxnews:

After weeks of pressure from all sides of the Democratic Party’s vast coalition over the makeup of his incoming administration, President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday pushed back against his critics as he made another history-making Cabinet nomination.

“By the end of this process, this Cabinet will be the most representative of any Cabinet in American history. We’ll have more people of color than any Cabinet ever. We’ll have more women than any Cabinet ever. We’ll have a Cabinet of barrier breakers, a Cabinet of firsts,” Biden emphasized on Wednesday.

Biden, who has vowed to make good on his promise that his administration would “look like America,” touted his choices to date, saying “our Cabinet doesn’t have just one first, or just two of these firsts, but eight precedent-busting appointments. And today a ninth – the first openly gay nominee to lead a Cabinet department and one of the youngest Cabinet members ever.”

  12. speaking of our new cabinet of firsts, here’s the next SOS mr. blinken (aka Ablinken on spotify)

the 12/14/20 new yorker had a piece on what may interest the guitar aficionados on the trail titled “a dad-rocker in the state department”  along with this caricature of him

  13. I just saw that SFB twitter account was hacked a few months ago by a “white hat” hacker, they find holes and let people know.  The password was “MAGA2020”.  That had to be set up for him by someone who knew he was illiterate and probably could not remember anything else.

  14. Blinken is a credible player.  I’d wager he’s listened to a bit of Bonnie Raitt.  She coulda written that song.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Pompeo cancels final holiday party after he comes into contact with coronavirus

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo canceled his final major holiday party of the year Wednesday after his exposure to a person who tested positive for the coronavirus forced him into quarantine, according to two officials familiar with the situation.

The decision caps a run of indoor holiday parties hosted by Pompeo, his wife, Susan, and his top aides that health experts and U.S. lawmakers warned could turn into superspreader events at a time when the novel coronavirus has killed more than 300,000 Americans.

The State Department has hosted hundreds of diplomats and dignitaries since last week for indoor gatherings with holiday music, drinks and photo lines that resulted in the type of close congregation and unmasking that facilitates the airborne transmission of the virus through respiratory droplets.

Pompeo, one of President Trump’s most loyal confidants, stood out among Cabinet officials for approving holiday events that disregarded Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines against large indoor gatherings, while other departments such as the Pentagon switched to hosting virtual holiday functions.

I call bullshit.  This fatass has probably come into contact with a hundred people who would have tested positive over the past month.  Word yesterday on Joy Reid’s show was that the 900 person party he was planning, at which he was going to give an address, yielded 70 RSVPs, he substituted a different speaker, then cancelled the party.   Maybe that was true and maybe it’s true that he is self-quarantining after coming into contact with someone who tested positive – I don’t know, but I do know he’s the Liar in Chief’s second and he ain’t far behind, so I call bullshit.

  15. Here it’s wet and heavy, just changing over to snow from rain and projected to go on for another 5 hours or more.

  16. Oh , BTW, driving up route 50 today I was in the lane behind a pick up truck with two flags flying behind the cab. One was a Confederate battle flag, and the other was a Trump 2020 flag that showed Trump dressed up as if he were some sort of a goddamn Navy seal or something holding an A.R. 15 and looking all buff and shit. I gave them the salute that I always give Trump flags and signs.🖕🏼

  17. A mysterious gap in COVID-19 deaths appeared in Florida before the presidential election

An astonishing pattern has emerged in Florida’s COVID death tally — one that suggests the state manipulated a backlog of unrecorded fatalities, presenting more favorable death counts in the days leading up to the 2020 presidential election.

At issue is the state’s handling of the lag between the date someone dies and the date Florida reports that death in its public count. With minor exceptions, Florida stopped including long-backlogged deaths in its daily counts on Oct. 24, 10 days before the Nov. 3 election, and resumed consistently including them on Nov. 17, two weeks after the election.

  18. Tony, saw that. It was DiSantis lying for Dumbass when he thought Florida mattered to Dumbass’ attempt to be re-elected.

  19. Yep, Pogo, that POS DeSantis lying for Trump. A lackey for a Trump, like so many. Man, I’m so sick of these people. Florida just elects 2 creep Senators as well.

  20. Jamie…. we are expecting about a foot and a half….  but it’s going to be light and fluffy.  It’ll be much easier to deal with than the last storm…   which, BTW, had melted down to maybe an inch.

  21. Weather Report:  Rain, rain, rain, and more rain

Nothing from Twitter.  I just deleted it.  If they decide a 76 year old great grandmother is no longer a major threat to the nation, I’ll let you know.

  22. patd, love the GoldenCalf!

So, due to his own decision decades ago, trumpity can’t live in his own ugly mansion on the sea.  They could go to the nearest Red Roof Inn.

  23. Shit gets real. My best friend in Bama and his wife tested positive. Mild symptoms but they’re scheduled to receive antibody transfusions Monday. Dunno, no regeneron cocktail for them. Draws a distinction between real folks and the mutherfuckers known as trumpco. I hope those bastards spend an eternity melting slowly at extremely high temperatures.

  24. Odd night on the tv. SNL Christmas on NBC and Super Duper Alice Cooper on AXStv. Excellent flipping alternatives.

  25. And as dumbass tries to fleece his stupid followers, from the world of bad news, per NYT,

Officials across the United States on Wednesday reported the highest daily number for new coronavirus since the pandemic began, as well as the most deaths in a single day.
New infections were put at 244,668, and deaths at 3,657 — 500 more than the record set only a week ago. The previous case record, 236,800, was set last Friday (though a reporting anomaly in Texas made it appear still higher.)
    (continues, sadly)

Turned the Corner, hunh? Stupid mutherfucker.
