Of course a couple of questions Kier asked were easily batted aside by Putin – such as the threat of China building a 4th aircraft carrier – Putin’s answer – we are strategic partners and have a friendly relationship so the aircraft carrier is not seen as a threat, and if China nd Russia did come to blows, aircraft from a Chinese carrier wouldn’t be very useful in a ground war, which is what such a conflict would be. Joe’s lever IMHO is combined economic pressure from the US and Europe.
