Veterans Day has come and gone for this year.  I forgot about my great-uncles who fought in WWI and were around for the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month”.  The quantity of us who directly knew someone who was in WWI is dwindling fast, as are those of us who are Vietnam Era Veterans (the Venn diagram shows the correlation well too).

    By the way, I’ve been posting the Bluesky traffic updates as a reply to Elon’s account and getting lots of views for them. I find trolling the trolls a lot of fun on X these days.

And further details and evidence continue to trickle out, including records of Venmo payments from Gaetz to the two women, per ABC. Gaetz has firmly denied any wrongdoing.

    My son-in-law now manages a fleet of airplanes stationed all over the USA, making every effort that when the call comes in for an executive jet, one is nearby. He still is a pilot, and with senior status, was offered to fly Trump a few times; Trump does not always fly the TRUMP jet; he utilizes the service my son-in-law’s corporation affords for shorter flights or when the TRUMP jet is being serviced. Steve has always passed on this offer, too much rigmarole. And so, he is still with the job, and not head of the FAA. Yeah. And how crazy would it be for this to have happened?These picks by Trump are unbelievable, even for a nevertrumper like me who knew some of this was apt to occur. And it has with bells whistles ribbons and a free open bar. Gaetz gaining strength with Trump…this tactic worked for Trump, will it work for Gaetz? I am thinking that even with a lot of senatorial horror from the Republican side, it may, even though every talker on cable are saying this is a ruse and Trump has a real full-fledged nazi  backstage to eventually designate for confirmation to DOJ.
    Caligula had wiser counsel than Trump would have, or may have.

Gaetz has been shown to have sex with these women, underage or not.  We have testimony of him roaming the floor with pictures on display.  We know he made Venmo payments for their party time services.  What seems to be missing is any major discussion of the Pimp being paid and were these women employees or traffic victims.  Trafficking is a crime above and beyond simple prostitution.

Today, November 20,2024, is this year’s Transgender Day of Remembrance, the day we remember those who died of the hate and violence that happens to us.  This year there are twenty-seven names for U.S. Transgender people, these are the ones we know of.  We do not know all who have suffered each year. 
     
    We expect much more violence and death as the magats continue their hate campaign.  The sad thing is how many people who claim to be Dem’s also hate us and want us gone.  I know many Trans people have left the U.S. and many more are actively planning on leaving very soon.  Many more of us are not in the position to leave, and we are fearful for our lives.

Taxing my memory a bit.  For those interested, there are some interviews and performances by Christine Jorgensen on YouTube.  She was a fascinating woman and the first one to bring up transgender to the general public.  That we are still tolerating bigots like Mace 60 years after the fact is ridiculous.

    I grew up in Detroit in the 1950’s and 1960’s in a deeply religious Roman Catholic family.  There was no sex. There were no gay people. There was nothing that would be called Transgender.  All reading and viewing material was carefully screened to prevent anything other than church approved things from reaching children’s eyes and minds.  Except, there was always something at my friends houses to read.  In the mid-1950’s I saw Christine Jorgensen’s story, remember public writing is usually for the fifth grade so not beyond a child, and for some reason I remembered it. I remembered it all my life. No matter how hard I tried, no matter how hard I prayed, no matter what I did, I knew I was not the boy everybody thought I was.
