  1. fallon last night

Jimmy addresses the latest news, like the deadline for Trump to pay his $464 million judgement closing in, Marjorie Taylor Greene filing a motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson and Walmart beginning to sell high-end products.

  2. Watching dumbass Junior beg for five dollars from donors was hilarious. I would almost bought a ticket to see that bullshit.

Oh, and while this restriction can be waived, the merger documents for the Trump lie network and its new partner restrict the stock owners from transferring their stock until six months after the merger occurs. Now I may be a little vague on this, but Monday comes sooner than that six months stock transfer for restriction is lifted.

And I can say that I don’t believe that Ron McDaniel will be a regular on MSNBC, which is the only part of the NBC network that I watch with any regularity at all. If she starts showing up on the MSNBC shows that I watch, no fucking way. Am I going to continue watching it.

    And Bama is still dancing.

  3. pogo, congrats on the 1st dance of the madness.

in re donna, perhaps she’ll turn out like michael steele did on msnbc.  they’ve brought into their tent a lot of ex-pats from magaland with useful insider knowledge.  we’ll know which way her wind blows when she goes back to her romney roots and name.

  4. What I read said she’s joining Katy Tur and Andrea Fossil—I mean Andrea Greenspan.    Or Mitchell.

  5. what’s “NBC”?

i’m just kidding, the streaming services have the major news network feeds, now. i click
past them on the way to more interesting content

  6. The GQP has been pretty loud about cuts to  Security Security, and may it echo to the ballot box in November.

We don’t have a new SNL until April 6th. That’s pretty much all I watch on NBC, anyway and, hopefully, it will be counter-programming to whatever fascist-lite beverage they start to serve.

  7. Hard to get more stupid than hiring R McDaniel. That’s just crazy stupid.  Who’s in charge of that outfit? (Wait wait don’t tell me.)

Haven’t seen nbc in months. Not a problem. It all started when the ceiling fell in.

  8. Jen Psaki was a partisan hire, so you got left-of-center with people like her, and then batshit-crazy with people like McDaniel, that’s 2024 fair and balanced

  9. Cute video, Pat, thanks. I’m borrowing it for my next “get well card” to somebody.

Get well soon, Craig, or sooner. I hear they don’t let you sit around on new hip-butts these days.

  10. It could be a cynical move so when msnbc ratings drop they can cancel some of those night time msnbc hosts they’re probably sick of.

  11. Maybe Ronna will get a personality make-over? She willingly transformed her looks to try to meet Plumpty’s beauty-pageant standard of women’s appearance. It didn’t work, but she tried. I hope she changes her name back to her real name which Plumpty made her ditch. Maybe once she’s free of the indentured servitude of goper-ism, we’ll see who is the real Ronna, like we did Nicolle and some of the others?

  12. I will add a couple more:
Financial Advice for those with no obvious financials of anykind – Mike Johnson
Keeping your “adopted” young man – Mikey J.

  13. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/un-security-council-fails-pass-us-resolution-calling-immediate-ceasefire-gaza-2024-03-22/
“Russia, China veto US-led UN resolution on Gaza ceasefire”

“The resolution, on which Algeria also voted no and Guyana abstained, called for an immediate and sustained ceasefire lasting roughly six weeks that would protect civilians and allow for the delivery of humanitarian assistance.”

“Eleven of the 15 council members voted for the resolution, but the Russia and China vetoes stopped its passage.”

    Hmmmmmm

  14. Michael Steele showed he didn’t lose his mind when he was in the RNC, plus he’s one smart sonofabitch. Ronna hasn’t demonstrated anything like that so far as I can tell.

  15. When the UN was formed after WW2 I don’t think anyone could foresee the coming Cold War, followed by the global dynamics among the US, Russia and China. I’m all for global cooperation and problem solving but I don’t see much of that of late.

  16. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/03/25/takeover-hitlers-final-rise-to-power-timothy-w-ryback-book-review

“The Forgotten History of Hitler’s Establishment Enablers
The Nazi leader didn’t seize power; he was given it.”

“The corporate bosses thought that, if you looked past the strutting and the performative antisemitism, you had someone who would protect your money.”

“Communist ideologues thought that, if you peered deeply enough into the strutting and the performative antisemitism, you could spy the pattern of a popular revolution.”

“The decent right thought that he was too obviously deranged to remain in power long, and the decent left, tempered by earlier fights against different enemies, thought that, if they forcibly stuck to the rule of law, then the law would somehow by itself entrap a lawless leader.”

“In a now familiar paradox, the rational forces stuck to magical thinking, while the irrational ones were more logical, parsing the brute equations of power. And so the storm never passed. In a way, it still has not.”

“So the historian Timothy W. Ryback’s choice to make his new book, “Takeover: Hitler’s Final Rise to Power” (Knopf), an aggressively specific chronicle of a single year, 1932, seems a wise, even an inspired one. Ryback details, week by week, day by day, and sometimes hour by hour, how a country with a functional, if flawed, democratic machinery handed absolute power over to someone who could never claim a majority in an actual election and whom the entire conservative political class regarded as a chaotic clown with a violent following.”

  17. Timor Kalman
NBC announced they’ve hired esteemed Transylvanian nobleman, Vlad III Count Dracula, as national hematology correspondent.

  18. An MSNBC friend sent me the above, staff really up in arms over this. Ronna has been scrubbing a bunch of old tweets. She deleted the tweet above. If you search the word “Democrats” for her account you will find nothing. If you search for the word “Biden” there is only 1 tweet left. Also nothing for “abortion.”

Her first time on air is tomorrow on Meet the Press.

As friend said, “The first question Ronna McDaniel should be asked on Meet the Press is: Why have you been deleting your most offensive tweets? Each of which should be put up on the screen for the viewers to review and McDaniel to explain. For starters her endless lies about a rigged election.”

  19. Been nodding off and on all day. Just catching up. Actually they have such great physical therapy facilities in the hospital, staying one more night. Just did a walk on their practice stairway which I need practice for, we have a bunch. Also nice to have a professional pain management staff on hand. And the food is surprisingly good. Their soups as good as Panera.

  20. “Speaking Truth to Power”
    with Dr Deborah Birx

    “Both Sides Now”
    With Kimberly Guilfoyle

  21. Overall, NBC will see viewership drop, although folks might be interested in any fireworks tomorrow.  (I hope they put up her now-deleted tweets, as Craig suggested.)
There are more anti-fascists than MAGAts.  The hiring execs didn’t think this through.   Well, it actually seems like what they thought is exactly as  KO said.

  22. The “major news networks” were too scared of the mob to even get an accurate account of Jan 6 while it happened, seriously don’t understand why anyone trusts or watches them, it’s just fear porn and colorful graphics, the Sunday shows are “let’s let a liar get away with lying and then thank them for doing it”

At least with the right-wing hard propaganda networks everybody is in on the joke

  23. Kimberly Guilfoyle – she’s in the same category as MTG – I’d rather have my eyes sucked out than have to share an elevator with her.

  24. https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/23/tech/acp-affordable-connectivity-program/index.html

“Millions of Americans could soon lose home internet access if lawmakers don’t act”

“By as soon as May, more than 23 million US households risk being kicked off their internet plans or facing skyrocketing bills that force them to pay hundreds more per year to get online, according to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).”

“Such broad disruptions to internet access would affect people’s ability to do schoolwork, to seek and do jobs, to visit their doctors virtually or refill prescriptions online, or to connect to public services, widening the digital divide between have and have-nots and potentially leading to economic instability on a massive scale.”
“The crisis is linked to a critical government program expected to run out of funding at the end of April. Known as the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), the benefit provides discounts on internet service valued at up to $30 per month to qualifying low-income households, or up to $75 per month for eligible recipients on tribal lands.”

“Because of political gameplay, about 60 million Americans will have to make hard choices between paying for the internet or paying for food, rent, and other utilities, widening the digital divide in this country,” said Gigi Sohn, a former top FCC official. “It’s embarrassing that a popular, bipartisan program with support from nearly half of Congress will end because of politics, not policy.”

  25. Four years ago, the country was brought to its knees by a world-historic disaster. COVID-19 hospitalized nearly 7 million Americans and killed more than a million; it’s still killing hundreds each week. It shut down schools and forced people into social isolation. Almost overnight, most of the country was thrown into a state of high anxiety—then, soon enough, grief and mourning. But the country has not come together to sufficiently acknowledge the tragedy it endured. As clinical psychiatrists, we see the effects of such emotional turmoil every day, and we know that when it’s not properly processed, it can result in a general sense of unhappiness and anger—exactly the negative emotional state that might lead a nation to misperceive its fortunes.

  26. “Has no plans to use Ronna McDaniel on air”
That doesn’t sound right.  Something is off with that.

  27. Sturg – The actual memo says “have no plans to have McDaniel on the channel.”
It sounds like they are keeping her off of MSNBC, but not NBC, since Rashida Jones is President of MSNBC.
