Sunday Serendipity

Some songs to remind us about who we are as Americans. A few of my favorite patriotic ones, plus a few that are just fun. After all, fun is what a birthday celebration is all about. Even when you are my age. So if you have any favorites to add do so and I will put them on the list for next year. It is family reunion weekend for me I have family coming in from all over the country. We are getting old and we lost a few this year. So while it will be fun it will be sad too.

Enjoy, Jack

  1. Thanks, Jack. July 4 will be a mixed day for us too. It would’ve been our daughter’s 35th birthday. We will carry on with a gathering of family and friends and, like every year, the fireworks are for her.

  2. Thank you Jack

    Beautiful recording

Family long weekend includes baseball, but limited celebration despite John Adams.

It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

  3. my bumper sticker suggestion for upcoming general:

A president in his eighties is better than

a president in his terrible twos.

  4. just got a weather alert that bad storms may be coming this way later today.  there’s always the chance (likelihood this time) of major power outages and worse which may mean no posting for awhile from here in the boonies.

please take this opportunity to help out fearless leader maintain the trail tradition of daily thread updates in case there’s a no-show on my part by 6:00 am tomorrow.
