“This campaign has always been about fighting for everyone who’s ever been knocked down that ever got back up.”
— John Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s newest senator-elect
also from AP:
Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire won a second term in office in a race that Republican strategists had targeted as ripe for flipping, AP’s Holly Ramer reports from Concord.
K. O. Tells today about a couple of dates he went on with laura ingraham in ’97 when she was with msnbc. It’s a good story and shows exactly what kind of human she is. (Not a good kind, as one might expect, unless you think a garden hose run thru the mail slot of a house and then turned on is funny).
Haha sarah palin 26.5%
P. S. She ran her own campaign.
Maybe now she’ll just go away.
And Bobo…..That’s sweet.
“In other words, every dramatic polling shift you saw in a Governor race over the final few weeks, in favor of either party, was either vastly overstated or outright imaginary. Oklahoma wasn’t actually shifting D, and all the others weren’t actually shifting R.”

Voters in California, Vermont and Michigan on Tuesday approved ballot measures enshrining abortion rights into their state constitutions, while those in traditional red states Montana and Kentucky rejected measures that would have restricted access to reproductive care.

More ups than down for Dems. Fetterman beating OZ, and watching Kari Lake screech among my faves.
Not quite enough ups. Losing the house will really really suck., as will having to continue dealing with Sinemanchin.
lol KO sure knows how to pick ‘em
Breaking: Republicans in dissarray.
In other news, Jeff Cook from Alabama passed. I knew those guys from my days in Myrtle Beac, early ’70’s, where they played every summer as “Wild Country” . They were all really nice guys back then on the Beach. Their gig was at “The Bowery” and they played from Noon to 6, an hour off, then 7 to Midnight, 7 days a week. NO BREAKS. They took a break one at a time or when someone would sit in and allow them to get a break. We would sit in there all the time as our gig ran Midnight to 5 am. Weird place, Myrtle, back in those days. All my rowdy friends are settling down. See ya, Jeff…..don’t take any woodem beers.
Ha ha on keef but in his favor it only took him two dates to find out.
lol ‘two’
lol……point taken
” Ten thousand dollars worth of hardwood flooring,” she laughed, ” Ruined!”
Keith’s choices d’amour aside, that woman (allegedly) told him about when after her ex had changed the locks on his house so she couldn’t get in and fuck with things, she ran a garden hose into his house thru the mail slot and turned on the water.

Good morning all.
I was up all night but couldn’t contribute as my Kindle and WordPress aren’t speaking. It is nice to see that the pink only trickled and may yet be stopped and forced into bipartisanship.
CBS News Chief Political Analyst and anchor of “CBS News Prime Time with John Dickerson” joins Stephen LIVE to break down the early results of the 2022 midterm elections. Stick around for more election analysis with John Dickerson before he returns to the CBS News studio for more live coverage of the midterm elections results.
CNN Jim Acosta: “Trump is livid” and “screaming at everyone,” after last night’s disappointing midterm results for GOP, according to a Trump adviser. The adviser went on to slam the former president’s handpicked contenders: “they were all bad candidates.” “Candidates matter,” the adviser said.
Good morning! There are so many positives to take away (that’s before everything shakes out and I think Ds will keep control) but Michigan flipped and Gretchen’s Ds have complete control of the legislature, Gov, Lt-Gov, SoS, and seats, I think they codified abortion rights last night (Vermont did too!). Maggie Hassan, who MSM declared “in trouble in NH” just last week, knocked it outta the park. Mass elected LGBTQ as Gov. There are great stories everywhere, especially in state legislatures, and young people actually VOTED. Maybe giving them something to vote for is important??! And Dr. Oz & Palin have to take a f-ing seat!
2024 begins
Murdoch is picking sides supporting DeSantis and Lachlan seems on the same bandwagon as he takes over from his dad.
On the family drama side, who will James Murdoch support?
The Bulwark’s take on the races from the right wing side of the fence
I know many so-called “independents” that always vote Democratic that took a Republican ballot in our mid-term primary just so they could vote for Don Bolduc… as they thought he was too batshit crazy to defeat Hassan. Thank god they were right!
Rick and I went out to have a nice big breakfast this morning to celebrate the “no red wave”…
“Though he came up short, O’Rourke helped sweep in down-ballot victories across the state and helping Democrats pick up 12 seats in the Texas House, two seats in the Texas Senate and boosting newcomer Lina Hidalgo over longtime Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, a Republican.”
“I don’t know what my role or yours will be going forward, but I’m in this fight for life,” O’Rourke said, a line that drew more cheers that any other in his speech. “Who knows what’s next for any of us, right? But I just cannot thank you enough.”
Despite a valiant effort, Election Day in Texas was ruled by racism and misogyny.
I hope losing the house galvanizes people to do something starting now
And, Rant I-want-term-limits Paul won another term in KY.
I’ll say one thing for Republicans, they sure have a taste for shit.
I’m very disappointed Ron Johnson won again… He is a particularly useless slug. cheddar heads are stupid and don’t care about bad government.
JD Vance is at best a liar and a hypocrite. When I hear him it makes me feel like throwing up.
tRUMPsky spilling the tea on Duh-Satan should be interesting. Who is Poo-tin backing? If he switches horses, would he use his orange intel to get Donny outta the way?
“Jenkins was first elected as Dallas County Judge in 2010. He has led the county through the 2012 Ebola outbreak, and was a vocal opponent of Gov. Greg Abbott during the COVID-19 pandemic. He even sued Abbott over mask rules in 2021.”
“In the last few years, Jenkins has also navigated flooding, historic winter storms and monkeypox.”
This is the best bet for Dems to get rid of Abutt next time. Dallas County is pretty blue, but he’s a no-nonsense guy whose personality might appeal to rural, red Texas, too.
It is also important to focus on the failure of media to present accurate information.
They need to be called out when they lie or use specious sources.
The use of biased polling data was rampant this election. A perfect example was the Fetterman vs asshole race.
Unbiased polling indicated the debate was not a factor in the race. Yet…and still repeating the lie.
The New Yorker has an opinion piece on the Fetterman race titled The unlikely victory of John Fettermna.
The author is a moron. Fetterman is the elected Lt Governor of PA He invested a lot of time in legalizing pot in PA. He was also a mayor. He led from the beginning of the race to election day.
The only unlikely thing is the author ever went to Jschool
Trump and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day
Heading home from the VA med center, it was late lunch time and many miles to go to get home, so I stopped at a restaurant I had been interested in. Thing was it was never busy, which made a big question about it. I saw a review that was glowing about it a few months ago. A look at the menu and I decided instead of crab something (a local food) I wanted the lobster roll. The order went to the kitchen, I looked around. faux snooze was on the big screen television, yuck. Gag me. From the kitchen I heard talk of a rwnj rant regarding how they did not understand why maga did not win it all. Scratch a return visit.
Hey all! Checking in from Michigan! Michigan Democrats held onto the Governor’s office, Attorney General and the Secretary of State office this election. Plus, for the first time since 1983, Democrats hold the majority in BOTH the state senate and house with the Governor also being a Democrat. All 3 proposals that were on the ballot (including one for reproductive freedom) all passed. The right side wanted people to vote “No” on all 3 proposals. So, I guess in Michigan you can’t spell “Republican” without an “L”.
If those Secret Service guys had actually escorted him to the capitol…… he might have achieved full-blown Drooling Marius
They actually refused a direct order from the president. That’s heavy.
Sturgeone – I think a lot more happened that we do not know about – yet. Remember the Secret Service was in the know a week earlier.
I can understand that this is an unpopular thing with many, I do miss the Sixties and Seventies for a big reason, color. It was the explosion of color in everything we had. From clothes to coffee mugs, to kitchen appliances to cars to everything. Color was everywhere. Now we have dull brushed stainless steel, or dull off white paint on everything or just dull. Popular color for home selling is beige. (barf) For the youngsters reading in the peanut gallery, men wore clothes with lots of colors and patterns. Yup, I do miss those times.
I just saw a clip of RonDuh’s acceptance speech…and his wife’s abomination of a dress. I believe the best way to describe it is is fool’s gold foil soaked in piss.
“In conservative Kansas and Kentucky, voters turned out in droves and crossed party lines to support abortion access. In Texas — where candidates, not issues, were on the ballot — there was no such surge in support.”
The northern and great white northern contingents check in. Welcome back Ty and Corey. A good night for Dems and the moon hasn’t set yet. Glad Boebert isn’t going to be out DC rent for the next two years. That alone made it a good night for me last night.
I was sooo hoping Boebert really had lost and as of about an hour ago it still wasn’t sorted so.. I dunno, there was a LOT to cheer about in this election but I was really hoping to pop a champagne cork at the COL news.
holy moly, that terrible person is losing by less than 100 votes with 99% in
