But Seriously, Folks
Lincoln Project: Moments like these demand a leader that is strong, steady, and wise. President Biden is that leader.

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Folks have lost their critical thinking skills. It started with the “idiot box” in living rooms everywhere and ended with the “series of tubes” called the internet. Complexity and nuance have withered into nothingness. To Generation A, well, best of luck.
I don’t always agree with POTUS Joe, but I love him. Seriously, we are already in WWIII, so please close the sky over Ukraine. Pootin won’t stop there. ps – Xi and Kim are watching.
“Texas will send busloads of undocumented immigrants to the steps of the US Capitol, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Wednesday, in response to the Biden administration ending a pandemic-era health order that effectively blocked migrants from entering the US.”
To this nasty, little campaign ploy by human, idiot box, Greg Abbott, I say VOTE FOR BETO!
BiD, wonder if greg could be federally charged with transporting illegal items across state borders.
🙂
Yesterday was a wonderful day in the midst of so much happening. My co-workers and I decided to meet at the office, one was cleaning her cube out, I needed to pick a few things up from mine and out newest team member needed to see where we live or used to live. Gale was very happy to be at the office. She likes the office because so many people have love and treats for her. She jumped out of the truck and pulled me into the building.
It has been a couple months since I was in the building and I was expecting very few people. Surprise there were several people working, so much for racing my scooter around on my personal racetrack. I was putting my load of things together when I heard a voice. Co-worker showed up, Gale jumped up and ran to her. I just stuttered. It was so nice to see her again. We had a most wonderful hug. It was something that only happens after you have had adversity and two years apart. Although exchanging hellos on the phone and FB during this time it was not the same as being together. We tried to catch up as fast as we could, filling in the holes that using social media is infamous for. Sadly I had to go with my teammates to lunch. At least I have her in office schedule now. Gale will be very happy when we go in next time.
yup…
Ugh, China voted against successful UN ouster of Russia from Human Rights Council, at least India voted for it
Wow, quite an admission. “We have significant losses of troops and it’s a huge tragedy for us,” Kremlin spokesman Peskov admitted, claiming reason for Russia’s withdrawal from Kyiv and Chernihiv was “an act of goodwill during the negotiations.”
Former president Donald Trump voiced regret Wednesday over not marching to the U.S. Capitol the day his supporters stormed the building, and he defended his long silence during the attack by claiming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others were responsible for ending the deadly violence.
“I thought it was a shame, and I kept asking why isn’t she doing something about it? Why isn’t Nancy Pelosi doing something about it? And the mayor of D.C. also. The mayor of D.C. and Nancy Pelosi are in charge,” Trump said of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot in a 45-minute interview with The Washington Post. “I hated seeing it. I hated seeing it. And I said, ‘It’s got to be taken care of,’ and I assumed they were taking care of it.”
The 45th president has repeatedly deflected blame for stoking the attack with false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, and in the interview, he struck a defiant posture, refusing to say whether he would testify before a congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 assault. Trump said he didn’t remember “getting very many” phone calls that day, and he denied removing call logs or using burner phones.
Deflection much? Next he’ll say his hair just grows that way.
patD – If Greg could be charged with human trafficking for little stunt, that would be delicious.
BiD, not only “human trafficking” but add on the “for immoral purposes” phrase from the Mann Act.
surely immoral to exploit vulnerable refugees fleeing violence just to make brownie points with the magaT cult and to corruptly use state funds for one’s satisfaction, political or otherwise.
too bad the statute can’t be interpreted to include gregg’s little stunt.
a really funny movie could come out of this harrowing tale

As the real Zelensky took to the streets of the capital, wearing a bulletproof jacket in a video he released to dispel any notion he was fleeing — even as the United States warned him of threats to his life — the fake Zelensky soon realized he needed all the help he could get.
When you look exactly like the man leading a country during a war, life becomes even more strange, and fast. As Umid Isabaev, 41, started contemplating his own precarious position, he was offered help from two unusual figures: Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Not the real ones, of course, but by two men who earn a living impersonating them.
Many miles away, from a “secret location” in Asiathat he would not disclose, “Howard X” — who has impersonated Kim since 2013 — was watching the news of bombs falling during Russia’s attempts to capture key Ukrainian cities. Howard spoke on condition his full name, age and whereabouts would not be disclosed, since he takes extra precautions to avoid detection by the dictator’s security forces. (He did tell The Washington Post he was “under 50” and “the nearest thing to the real Kim” that this reporter was likely ever to get.)
Howard was thinking about Isabaev, whom he had never met — but knew of, since they both starred in a 2020 documentary about political look-alikes on Russia 24 television. As Ukraine begged for foreign volunteers to help defeat Russia, Howard said he was “too fat to fight” — but knew he “could help” the fake Zelensky.
[…]
On the other side of the social media message, Isabaev — who is just three years younger than the man he mimics — was surprised by the outreach from a stranger. “It was an unexpected proposal,” he said. “There is a war on, and I didn’t know what to do next.”
Howard enlisted the help of another friend, who goes by the stage name “Steve Poland.” His real name is Slawomir. He is globally known as “fake Putin” for being one of the most famous, if not the most famous, professional look-alike of the Russian president.
[…]
Howard and Slawomir met in 2017, when the two starred in a commercial together for electronics business Wilson. The pair are seen in the video dancing enthusiastically alongside a Trump impersonator.
From his home in Poland, to which millions of Ukrainian refugees have fled, Slawomir — who spoke on the condition his last name would not be used due to security concerns — told The Post that it was his responsibility to stay in constant communication with the Zelensky impersonator, Isabaev, as he made the journey into Poland.
Isabaev, who lived in Russia for more than a decade before moving to Ukraine, said that while he was still in Kyiv during the war, both Russians and Ukrainians reached out to him offering to help. He didn’t know who he could trust. “[Isabaev] was followed all the time by Russian soldiers who wanted to take him to Moscow to spread propaganda negative for Ukraine,” Slawomir said.
Howard, who set up an official Facebook page for Isabaev as he took on a new role as the fake Zelensky’s manager and booker during the war, said the page was hacked within 24 hours. He said hackers posted an image of the letter Z — a pro-Russian symbol that emerged during the war.
The journey from Kyiv to Poland took Isabaev about a week. Isabaev passed through several military checkpoints before making it to safety March 12. Howard sent a car to pick him up and said he paid for Isabaev’s hotels.
[…]
Another issue that complicated the great impersonator escape of 2022 was that the fake Zelensky, Putin and Kim all spoke different languages and had to rely heavily on Google Translate and the help of translators to orchestrate their plan.

Great – congratulations to Justice Jackson. Weill deserved and it’s about time.
How about seating our newest Justice tomorrow?
Thanks goodness we have another intelligent female on the high court!
pogo – Orange Adolf both wanted Nancy to stop the rioters he set loose, and, said he wished he could’ve been there, but the Secret Service wouldn’t let him. Ummm, I don’t buy that he wanted to be there; anyone telling him “no” was just a convenient excuse. Two stances in the subject, and, both seem to be lies.
Mary Trump: “If Ivanka and Jared feel that continuing to support and defend Donald won’t work out well for them they will throw him under the bus.” (MSNBC)
Blue, she can’t be seated tomorrow because Breyer is still there, probably until June.
Big question for now is whether she keeps her appeals court seat and risk having to recuse in future cases from there once on SCOTUS.
While the Kremlin has denied that Russian troops committed war crimes in Bucha, German intelligence has reportedly intercepted radio chatter between Russian troops that blow Russia’s denials right out of the water
Looking like KGB agent Puttie does not know when to stop. The russian attack on Ukraine east has started. Due to the several days of little action expect the Ukraine military has received a great deal of resupply. While this is going on there has been an increase in talk around the Finland-Estonia region. This is being seen as a possible preparation for military action along the long border. Yes, it is possible that the russian military along the Finnish border will be moved into position while still engaged in Ukraine. Power mad dictators have no problem doing stupid. The U.S. military has traditionally been prepared for a two front war, Pacific and Atlantic (just like WWII). But, the russian military is not the Soviet Army of WWII, which just about lost to Hitler (the dream of KGB agent Puttie and the orange blog SFB).
Which is why Finland and Sweden are looking at NATO membership, and soon.
BB, there’s also a Russian military enclave in Kaliningrad that’s worrying the hell out of Lithuania and there’s poor little Moldova with the russian soldiers in the break-out Transnistria region. throw in Belarus and it looks pretty dicey over there not knowing what he’ll do next.
