Lol ? SFB dissolves his election fraud commission formed to prove the legitimacy of his presidency. Said a lot of states gave it a big FU and refused to provide their election data.
Listening to Morning Joe for grins. Lots of stuff to dig through about SFB and his follies. I am waiting to hear from the critters in the Congress who have been working hard to stop the investigation into the Russian infiltration of the U.S. politics, including the creepers like Nunes and Rorhabacker. Much to enjoy this cold snowy day.
Good morning to the trail and Mother Nature has turned a cold heart to America…finally, she has gotten the most of the US (including red states) to slow down enough for the trump voters and repug party to see we have an ‘idiot-moron-imbecile’ cycling in the WH. About time!
Craig, hope you are better. Please get some probiotics and make sure they have bifido family in the ingredients…avoid dairy (milk) to stop excessive mucous, but the probiotics have the good dairy bacteria in them to help fight infections.
“….they’ve decided there’s no hope at all, just retire. They got their tax giveaway to corporations, can now cash in for lucrative lobby jobs.”
craig, yep. most likely but some are searching for where the life boats are and how to launch them before the titanic twit sinks them all and some are still sitting second violin in ship orchestra playing “nearer OH MY GOD to thee”

yesterday from politico:Washington’s growing obsession: The 25th Amendment Lawmakers concerned about Trump’s mental health invited a Yale psychiatry professor to brief them in December. Lawmakers concerned about President Donald Trump’s mental state summoned Yale University psychiatry professor Dr. Bandy X. Lee to Capitol Hill last month for two days of briefings about his recent behavior.
In private meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress held on Dec. 5 and 6, Lee briefed lawmakers — all Democrats except for one Republican senator, whom Lee declined to identify. Her professional warning to Capitol Hill: “He’s going to unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”
“The tendency was anti-alarmism among Republicans,” said Bill Kristol, editor at large of The Weekly Standard and one of Washington’s leading conservative voices.
That made Trump’s sudden fit of saber-rattling “more jolting,” according to Kristol — and it reopened the national conversation about the president’s mental stability. “I was focused on Iran, and talking to people in the administration about serious policy,” Kristol added, “and then to see in the middle of what might be a serious policymaking process, Trump’s just flipping out.”
On Wednesday, Kristol tweeted: “I trust @VP has asked his Counsel to prepare a draft document transferring power in accord with Sec. 4 of 25th Amendment in case it’s suddenly needed, & that he’s discussed this with COS Kelly.”

On Wednesday, Lee and two other medical professionals released a statement following Trump’s late night Tweet baiting Kim Jung Un into a potential nuclear war. “We write as mental health professionals who have been deeply concerned about Donald Trump’s psychological aberrations,” the statement read.
“We believe that he is now further unraveling in ways that contribute to his belligerent nuclear threats. … We urge that those around him, and our elected representatives in general, take urgent steps to restrain his behavior and head off the potential nuclear catastrophe that endangers not only Korea and the United States but all of humankind.” The statement, released on behalf of the National Coalition of Concerned Mental Health Experts, was signed by more than 100 medical professionals.
la times:Magnitude 4.5 earthquake felt throughout Bay Area A magnitude 4.5 earthquake shook up the San Francisco Bay Area early Thursday.
It was felt throughout the region, and could be felt for perhaps five to 10 seconds. Near the San Francisco International Airport, several jolts could be felt. The earthquake was centered along the Oakland-Berkeley border, just north of the Claremont Hotel. The epicenter of the earthquake is in the area of the Hayward fault, one of the most feared in the Bay Area, which could produce a magnitude 7 or greater earthquake and is directly underneath heavily populated areas.
A magnitude 4.5 earthquake is not expected to cause major damage, said U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Robert Sanders. Still, “there’s always a possibility of some minor damage to older structures in the area.”
Renee – I look at the longevity of SFB in the WH is three ways: 1) after his “medical exam” this month he gets an hour with Mueller and comes out stating he is retiring due to health issues (his brain is rotting away), 2) the greedy old perverts decide to toss him out in 2018 using 25 or remotely impeachment, 3) 2019 the Dems impeach him and throw him in jail.
wow, just read several articles with excerpts from the Michael Wolff book. There’s a lot more than the Bannon stuff that’s shocking. If Wolff is making it up the dude has a heck of an imagination. Like the guy Trump lured into his “locker room” sex talk with his wife secretly listening on a speaker phone.
renee, you’re very welcome. here’s more from that above alternet story
Another disturbing story involves White House communications director Hope Hicks, who is 28 years old.
Hicks allegedly had a romantic relationship with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing revealed a quote from the book that finds the president objectifying Hicks after she inquired about helping Lewindowski combat poor press coverage.
“Hicks sat in Trump Tower with Trump and his sons, worried about Lewandowski’s treatment in the press and wondering aloud how she might help him. Trump, who otherwise seemed to treat Hicks in a protective and even paternal way, looked up and said, ‘Why? You’ve already done enough for him. you’re the best piece of tail he’ll ever have’ sending Hicks running from the room,” Jansing read on-air.
bet some of the ladies in black will have a go at the microphone in response to the sally yates put down by the twit. no doubt a few comedy writers have been hired to hone the phrasing.
from cbs story: Golden Globes 2018: With Time’s Up, expect a more somber tone
Dressing to dazzle is part of the glamour of awards season. But this year, expect a more somber tone. Many women nominated for Golden Globes say they’ll be wearing black, reports CBS News correspondent Jamie Yuccas. It’s a show of solidarity, standing against sexual harassment and assault.
“I’m very excited to be a part of that and stand in solidarity with all of the women that are gonna be at the Globes wearing black dresses,” actress Allison Janney said.
She’s among many nominees taking part along with Reese Witherspoon, Mary J. Blige, Saoirse Ronan and Meryl Streep.
Craig…wolff is a sheep in wolf’s clothing…they didn’t even notice him among WH staff. If only comey had been able to camouflage so well. In many ways he is like the nixon oval office tape recorder…a surprise detailed record of the goings-in the WH. His book is already number one on Amazon and it deserves it. Although many are trying to discredit him as murdoch’s boy? The excerpts are a treasure trove and pretty much what many have suspected. Everyone has something that stands out to them.
As you mentioned, craig, #4 trump loved pursuing friend’s wives…brings a whole new perspective to his mashing of Mrs. Macron.
The other comment made by bannon that junior would have walked the entire ruskie (June 2016) meeting up to meet daddy makes sense. I am sure trump also was listening in on the entire meeting. He might have told junior to bring them to his office.
While the this is playing-out, sessions is burning the cole memo…I hope the legal states’ firewall against the little man at justice can withstand this salvo. trump supporters, stone and tyson, need to help fight back against the regression. sessions is more than racial, he is a racist hired by a moron.
Thanks for the med advice. So far my over-the-counter regimen keeping symptoms under control while this chest cold runs its course. Feeling better today, but I caved and ordered grocery delivery, still not going outside. Staying close to my fireplace.
Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro (Texas) said Wednesday that he has heard evidence that Trump administration members committed crimes during the 2016 presidential election.
Castro, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, responded to a question from MSNBC’s Joy Reid on whether he believed the information he had seen so far in the committee’s investigation of Russian election interference was evidence of a crime. She specifically referenced hearings the committee had with Fusion GPS, the company behind a salacious dossier with information on President Trump.
“Do you believe that you heard evidence of crimes committed by members of this administration?” Reid asked.
“Yes,” Castro responded.
He added that he believed Republicans were not giving the House and Senate investigations enough resources to properly track down leads and make recommendations to avoid future Russian election interference.
“A big concern that I have is that there’s not enough resources, or energy or time that’s been committed to tracking down the leads that have been given to us,” Castro said.
The wolf book just proves what I said last spring, the Trumpistas just love to talk, It doesn’t take a political sluth just get them in a room and ply them with ego stroking BS and they ramble on abot how smart they are and how dumb everyone around them are. This is from the very top on down. One thing I will guarantee that everything they said to Wolf was just like their resume, highly inflated toward their own self importance, So everything in his book needs to be read with that in mind.
The lurid sleaze keeps coming…sam nunberg, fb racist, constitutional trainer and former trump supporter. Fired by trump in 2015, sued by him in 2016? Foreshadowing of the backstabbing.

i’ve read my share of WH tell-alls, inside accounts, etc. over the years, but this one seems distinguishable in one significant way: It’s not unusual for various feuding factions to slander each other but this gang has something in common — they all trash the president.
I find it very revealing that Ivanka thought she would be the first woman president–delusion runs deep in that family.
There is no one in the SFB administration worth anything. We elevated anyone we thought might be notliketrump…but who else would go to work for him? John Kelly is hoping to be a general once again during the military coup
The revelation that breaks Trumps case came in response to the last question in this afternoon’s WH presser when Shockabee revealed that author Wolff had made 50 formal requests to interview Trump; all were denied,
from msn: “Sessions ends policy that allowed legal pot, disrupting state markets”
Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday rescinded an Obama-era policy that paved the way for states to legalize marijuana. Instead, Sessions will allow federal prosecutors in states where pot is legal to decide how to enforce the federal ban on marijuana sale or possession.
Sessions made the announcement just days after the recreational marijuana market opened in California. Many states have legalized some form of medical marijuana, and a handful have legalized recreational use of the drug.
KGC, I hope she washes that mouth before she kisses her kids.
patd…sessions is a racist and cannabis is the evil weed of the black man. Just like harry anslinger before him.
Long before Richard Nixon declared the “war on drugs,” there was a man named Harry Anslinger who started it all. … He claimed that black people and Latinos were the primary users of marijuana from cbs.
daily mail:‘Disgraceful and laughable’: White House says Trump’s mental health is just fine after author’s claim that he repeats himself over and over again and can’t recognize old friends
[….] Author Michael Wolff claimed in a Thursday essay in the Hollywood Reporter that Trump is increasingly forgetful, repeating stories word-for-word inside 10 minutes and failing to recognize old friends. The essay is based on his explosive book, Fire and Fury, and includes other material. To hide his failings from the public, Wolff claims the White House hatched a plan last fall to have interviewers submit their questions beforehand. From erratic tweeting to slurred speech, Trump’s mental state has continually been questioned by Democrats, some of whom are trying to impeach him.
‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough also assessed after a set of recent incidents that Trump appears to be suffering from dementia. Retiring Sen. Bob Corker also drew blood in August when he asserted that Trump has not shown the ‘stability nor some of the competence’ that’s necessary for him to be successful in his position. Wolff delivered another blow to the president when said in a Thursday column of the Trump White House, ‘Everybody was painfully aware of the increasing pace of his repetitions. It used to be inside of 30 minutes he’d repeat, word-for-word and expression-for-expression, the same three stories — now it was within 10 minutes. Indeed, many of his tweets were the product of his repetitions — he just couldn’t stop saying something.’ ‘At Mar-a-Lago, just before the new year, a heavily made-up Trump failed to recognize a succession of old friends,’ Wolff writes. The author, who says he was provided widespread access to the White House after running his book pitch by Trump himself, says the president’s advisors and family ‘all — 100 percent — came to believe he was incapable of functioning in his job’ within months of Trump taking office. White House Communications Director Hope Hicks is especially ‘attentive to his lapses and repetitions’ and ‘urged him to forgo an interview that was set to open the fall season’ of ’60 Minutes, ‘he claims. That is how Fox News’ Sean Hannity landed an Oct. 12 interview with Trump. Wolff says White House insiders told him that Hannity offered to ‘supply the questions beforehand,’ setting a new standard in the Trump administration. ‘Indeed, the plan was to have all interviewers going forward provide the questions,’ Wolff wrote in the Hollywood Reporter, which employs him as a columnist. […..]
On another program, Scarborough said Trump is in the ‘early stages of dementia.’ ‘Everybody around Donald Trump knows he’s not stable. Everybody around Donald Trump knows he’s not stable now. Everybody,’ Scarborough stated.
bw, it’s got to be more than jeff’s knee jerk racism. he could have done this any time during the last year. and too convenient to not be coincidental.
bannon, cambridge analytica and the mercers…mueller is watching.
Mercer then forwarded the suggestion to several people, including Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix, asking if this is something they could do.
That is what prompted Nix’s email response that he had contacted Julian Assange two months earlier asking for Clinton’s emails, according to a source familiar with the Mercer and Nix email chain.
patd, the racism drives the decision, but the timing? You may be correct as to another reason, but today the off-shore drilling rollback is also happening today. The fast moving regression-du-jour….almost like they are in a hurry to get as much (un)done as fast before they are out.
The cost? We will be paying for this for a long time.
vox on sessions and his war on marijuana. As for sessions? Back in the old hippie days of the early 1970’s, there was a marijuana smoking technique called a “shotgun.” At times hippies would joke about holding down a straight person, such as sessions, and give him some shotguns to get him high. I guess we can’t hold use the same phrase anymore as it would cause the fbi to come a knocking.
The law suits that trump lawyers are filing against nunberg and wolff are hilarious. Essentially, the shithead wants millions in damages from nunberg for uncovering the tawdry affair between third parties lewandowski and hicks. The claim that revealing lewandowski’s sluttishness hurt trump financially, is supercharged lunacy. He wants to stop wolff from reporting things that trump, himself, allowed wolff to discover and write about.
I can hardly wait for some news guy to get up the courage and ask the huckabeest’s daughter if the president is addicted to amphetamines, or just to urine.
While I would love to see the clouds of Monarchs, I’ll be going in May which isn’t butterfly season. If I can squeeze in a harbor cruise I will as that time of year is seal and otter pups so I might get some pictures of those. Of course a visit to the aquarium is on the list and picking up a case of red drinkable stuff at Bargetto’s on Cannery Row.
Not sure SFB has standing to sue for damages resulting from disclosure of affair between third parties. Hard to see how damage to SFB was foreseeable. And Manafort’s suit against Mueller….give me a FUCKING break.
All that aside how did Lewandowski ever get Hicks into bed? She’s a babe and he’s a dick. I don’t get it.
I seem to remember reading that some psychotic dude who made a mess in Germany back in the day had that same distressing habit of repeating himself, especially when he got angry. (Yeah, Adolf, I’m talkin’ bout you).
Meanwhile I confess that I have not been sparing much thought for our beleaguered nation because I’m fully engaged in trying not to freeze my bum off. Cash register in direct line with double hydraulic doors that open to admit customers and a biting wind broken feebly by the bulk of the funeral home across the way: my greatest concern is whether to be sensible and wear five layers or be crazy daring and wear only four.

Awaiting the morning glory, hubby and I got a moscow mule copper mug gift set with mix for Christmas. We got into vodka yesterday toasting the wolff. The mule is kicking my ass, right now.
Winter looks like it wants to stay on the east coast…stay safe, mixers. We have had our freezes and cold days, but I have 3 hummingbirds wintering with me and the pollinators are still out in the heat of the daytime. Butterflies and bees feeding on a few succulent flowers in the yard, but I have brought the container plants close to the house and cover at night. I have one Christmas cactus that has had over 100 blooms this year.
Then I see the pictures on tv of the cold wind, ice and snow…it will take some time to get over this storm and the cost? Biting right into the 1% booming economy as the 99% suffer under high gas prices and property taxes.
An aide to Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked a Capitol Hill staffer if they had any damaging information about former FBI Director James Comey just days before his firing, according to a new report. The New York Times reports that in the days following Comey’s May testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, an aide to Sessions asked a congressional staff member whether they had information on Comey that could be damaging, reportedly in an attempt to undermine Comey.
A person with knowledge of the meeting told the Times that Sessions wanted to see a negative article about Comey every day in the press.

daily mail: ‘Disgraceful and laughable’: White House says Trump’s mental health is just fine after author’s claim that he repeats himself over and over again and can’t recognize old friends
[….]
Author Michael Wolff claimed in a Thursday essay in the Hollywood Reporter that Trump is increasingly forgetful, repeating stories word-for-word inside 10 minutes and failing to recognize old friends.
Indeed, many of his tweets were the product of his repetitions — he just couldn’t stop saying something.’
‘At Mar-a-Lago, just before the new year, a heavily made-up Trump failed to recognize a succession of old friends,’ Wolff writes.

On another program, Scarborough said Trump is in the ‘early stages of dementia.’
‘Everybody around Donald Trump knows he’s not stable.
That is what prompted Nix’s email response that he had contacted Julian Assange two months earlier asking for Clinton’s emails, according to a source familiar with the Mercer and Nix email chain.
bannon was vp of CA at one time.
Lengthy read on CA, but bannon will have his tumble in the barrel.
patd, the racism drives the decision, but the timing?
I got my POTUS to poke today, so have administered three well placed pins.
Is Paul Ryan prepping for his swearing in? One more reason for him to be acting like gloating ninny.
It sure looks like Donny Sr. and Pence are on the way out.
JAMIE – By the way, I hope you enjoy the butterflies on your vacation.
The rats had better not wait too long before fleeing the ship. It’s either that or learn to play TRUMPet

If you can get to Pacific Grove, the sanctuary is a must see for November to February
To make up for missing the flutterbys, I plan to camp out on Asilomar beach or just view it from my room patio.
Is it May yet?
is good night. No cable though. Good night to watch old fashioned DVD’s. All The Presidents Men for a start.
Yes LadyeFaire, he was a psychotic narcissist defended by sycophants, wasn’t he?
Super size me 2. Another man walking in the hall of shame, spurlock’s first film gives us insight into trump’s diet and what is rolling and moving under trump’s suit. The effect of the mcdonalds diet revealed in his first super size me film.
Biting right into the 1% booming economy as the 99% suffer under high gas prices and property taxes.
sessions digging for dirt on comey — wanted a negative story about comey to hit the press everyday according to the Hill.

A person with knowledge of the meeting told the Times that Sessions wanted to see a negative article about Comey every day in the press.

bw, lifting the deep water oil drilling ban is prime example. costing not just us but our great and great grand children and all of theirs as well.
trump is going to start an investigation of HRC. As if the 1st dozen weren’t enough. I don’t think the new one will amount to more than a mouse fart in the night.
Flatrian…….I have read and digested your most interesting question about the Gullah……it has caused maximum ruminations and various experiments of memory…….an always welcome persecution……the Gullah is gone. I know this. It began its death rattle in 67-68 or so……
This is the Gullah house I was born into. 48, not that long ago.
My dad, an industrious soul, transformed it from a Gullah shack into a “cottage”.
