  1. Pence just comes across as an arrogant “holier than thou” type who believes his personal morality should be forced on others.  Still had no trouble sacrificing his ethics to conform to the Drunpf.sleaze merchant.

  2. I still don’t think the Repugz will run a Cheeto and a boiled potato.  There will be a lot of turmoil during the convention and, possibly, after.

  3. Yep, the pious Harding, known for oil company bribes and imprisoning his mistress.

  4. The lack of tolerance and even an attempt to understand is becoming overwhelming.  Sick, simply sick.

And please share with Barack Obama that he does not speak for this nation.  I am very pleased that he is finally coming to admit his prejudice.  I know he is not evil, he is simply wrong.   Why does he say that we all approach others with a prejudice?  This is because this is what he knows and it helps to explain part of the basis of his grossly failed leadership.

This lack of tolerance and even attempt to understand others is so very sad.  And George Stephanopoulos does not deserve to have the term journalist connected to his profession.  Like most in the MSM they are on a mission and a narrative.  That help feed the weak elements of those holding the prejudice.

I invite all of you to come walk Lake Eola with me on a Sunday.  I am so glad I do not live in the America that Barack lives in.

Love you Craig and thanks for allowing me to share.

  5. humm never thought much of Harding but ran across this in a piece about him fathering a child  with his mistress.

Harding supported women’s right to vote, presided over an economic recovery after the Depression of 1920-21, and worked to smooth over relations with Latin America. And he was the first president to speak out in the South on behalf of civil rights for African-Americans, according to the University of Richmond.

On a stop in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1921, Harding praised African-Americans for their service in World War I, which had ended a few years earlier. And he affirmed they were politically equal under the Constitution.

“Let the black man vote when he is fit to vote; prohibit the white man voting when he is unfit to vote,” he told the crowd. When he called for an end to prejudice, black listeners, relegated to a segregated section, broke into cheers.

  6. wapo back in april last year:

David Letterman is not a fan of Indiana’s state version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act signed by Gov. Mike Pence (R). On the “Late Show” Tuesday, he said: “This is not the Indiana I remember as a kid. I lived there for 27 years, and folks were folks, and that’s all there was to it.”

Letterman counted down the top 10 guys Pence looks like. Here’s his list:

    10. The guy at the bar who sends your girlfriend a drink
    9. The guy who makes his dog sleep outside
    8. The guy whose wife has to tell him he’s “getting a little loud”
    7. The guy who greets a room full of guys with “morning, ladies”
    6. The guy who has a little too much fun on “audience get acquainted” night
    5. The real estate agent whose photo is on a bus stop bench
    4. The guy who keeps a baseball bat in his trunk
    3. The guy who won three national championships as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers (Bobby Knight, who is also known for throwing a chair onto the court during a game)
    2. The guy who arrives at his high school reunion in a rented Ferrari
    1. The guy fishing in a Cialis commercial

  7. Jack,

By default.  Not voting is not an option.  Had the Dem’s come forward with a real candidate that could be trusted,  Does not go home and go to bed when it gets tough.  Does not lie to the American people, and continue to lie thinking they will run past the lie and people will forget.  Had the Dems selected a trustworthy individual (and they still have time with a never Hillary movement??)  that puts me first as an American Citizen over others.  That is true in all in what they say and not just feeding the political beast.

    How can you trust Hillary?

Maybe the FBI will come out with the findings from the Clinton Foundation Criminal investigation prior to the Dem convention and we will have another option?

  8. factoid from wiki:

Pence left the Indiana Policy Review Foundation in 1994, when he began a career in talk radio. He hosted The Mike Pence Show, which was based in WRCR-FM in Rushville. Pence called himself “Rush Limbaugh on decaf” since he considered himself politically conservative while not as outspoken as Limbaugh. The show was syndicated by Network Indiana and aired weekdays 9 a.m. to noon (ET) on 18 stations throughout the state, including WIBC in Indianapolis.

  9. Tom Brady has decided to end his pursuit of his legal case.  He will serve his suspension the first 4 games of the upcoming season.

How a Bernie supporter takes the news…     “oh no…  I don’t believe it…  I refuse to believe it….   it ain’t over until I believe it’s over.  Who knows…  there’s still a chance that Ruth Bader Ginsburg will call him up and tell him she will give him a stay and be able to convince the other justices to take the case if Brady promises to autograph footballs for them and give them Super Bowl tickets.  I refuse to watch the first 4 games…  no wait…  I refuse to watch any football this season….   no, no, WAIT… I refuse to watch football ever again…   so there.”

How a Hillary supporter takes the news…   “yeah…  so it goes…”

  10. “this calls for a caption contest”-patd

“I’m going to blame this loser when Hillary wins”

  11. Ping

Just swallow whole 30 years of confirmed guilt via innuendo and accusation.  You can be head judge when the next GOP kangaroo court and necktie party are held.  Feel free to vote for the ignoramus with a fourth grade vocabulary who couldn’t tell the difference between Switzerland and Sweden.  He has to be better than that well worn picture of Hillary on the post office wall.

  12. don’t miss the non-but more like real-news coverage of the conventions.  variety reports jon stewart will be there too:

The former “Daily Show” anchor is just one of many special elements being served to wee-hours viewers over the next two weeks as several late-night programs move quickly to play off the Republican and Democratic national conventions. Colbert will hold forth live on “Late Show” to discuss the latest happenings at both events. Seth Meyers will go live this Thursday after the end of the Republican convention. Bill Maher will offer half-hour versions of his “Real Time” on HBO during two days over each of the next two weeks.

As for Stewart’s old roost? “Daily Show” is transporting dozens of staffers to Cleveland and Philadelphia, where Trevor Noah will hold forth. The show’s current staff of correspondents will be on the ground at both locations, and content related to the proceedings will be made available on both Snapchat and Amazon’s Alexa.

  13. Really getting bothered by the 24/7 terror event coverage.  It seems to me that it just encourages similar actions.  Maybe without the constant over the top coverage, it wouldn’t produce so much fear and prejudice.  The news of 100 deaths needs to come a little slower so we can consider the other causes for the 151,000 people who died on the same day

  14. Book and a film:  Crisis of Character, and, “Hillary’s America.”  Having only read reviews of both, it seems they would only confirm my view of Clinton.

Yes, there is still time for Bernie Sanders to be our nominee.  Yes, there is still a way to dump Trump.

I doubt that there is time for Hillary to rehabilitate her reputation, or even a way to do so.

Those who love and admire her will continue to do so.

Those who see a very flawed candidate, one who would make a very poor POTUS, are many.  It’s not just me.  It’s not just the folks  riding the Trump train.  How is she going to motivate folks to vote for her when they don’t like either candidate?

By the same token, how would Trump convince folks to vote for him when they don’t like either candidate?

This November, if the RNC & DNC don’t wise up, it’ll be pick-your-poison-or-stay-home-Tuesday.

  15. Oh and don’t worry. 360,000 were born on the same day so they have all been replaced.  Lots of unhappy relatives, but we won’t run out of people.  Water, food, animals and air, but plenty of people

  16. Blue

Hillary’s America is Dinesh D’Souza  hatchet job.  Crises of character has a already been debunked by Secret Service serving at the same time as the author was uniformed guard and never closer than outside of a door.

  17. Not to point out the obvious (OK, to point out the obvious) she convinced 3.7 million more democrats to vote for her than Bernie did – while the now done investigation loomed over her -and drumpf got 1.3 million more votes than he did. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that tells me that no matter how you cut it, of the last 3 standing he lost to 2.   81 % of Bernie supporters say they’ll vote for her, 9 % for drumpf and 9% say I dunno.  You I presume are in the last 9% blue.  So answer me this – How is Bernie going to motivate folks to vote for him when he couldn’t do so against such an unpopular candidate in his party or the other one? (Yes, I know that he didn’t go against trump as a choice).  Unicorns and pots of gold.

  18. Phil Bump at WaPo pointed the following out:

Then, in a completely baffling move, Trump announced that his previously announced plan to unveil his pick on Friday at Trump Tower was being scrapped, ostensibly because of the terror attack in Nice on Thursday night. But that attack didn’t stop Trump from otherwise campaigning: He held a fundraiser on Thursday night, well after the attacks, and called in to multiple Fox News programs to weigh in on the attacks.

So it wouldn’t “be appropriate” to hold a news conference to announce what he tweeted out to confirm, but it was appropriate to hold a fundraiser and call in to Fox to comment on the attacks?  JHC…

  19. And yet, the old man has not suspended his campaign, and, it took her this long to pry a half-hearted endorsement out of him. ~Yeah, she’s the horse to bet on.~

If Trump is the GOP’s nominee, he will win.  Clinton supporters will have nobody but themselves to blame.  Look at how she had to keep lying about what she stands for to try to stay in the race with Bernie.

If she were to be elected, she would be great if you happen to be a billionaire.

  20. ISIS warned they were coming to Rome, and by “Rome”, they meant Istanbul, which was once Constantinople, the seat of the Eastern Roman Empire.  Fun times.

  21. I aim to please.  🙂   It wasn’t factless, though.  She continually moved left on issues to stay in the mix this season; Bernie has the message.  She’ll say anything.

She really should release transcripts of those paid speeches. She really shouldn’t have deleted those emails. FOIA.

Her supporters may not like it, but she has a lot of work to do to convince anyone who isn’t already in her camp.

  22. Is the Turkish military trying to maintain their  Western ways or moving strengthen religion? We’ll see.

  23. Jamie, give it up.  You aren’t through the looking glass so you’ll never understand.

  24. You had better get a Christmas card from Bernie this year, Blue.

(…still waiting for one from Ron Paul) 🙁

  25. “I’m making a call out to my people. I’m inviting them out to all our public squares. I’m inviting them out to our airports. Let us gather in our squares, at our airports as the people and let that minority group come upon as with their tanks and artillery and do whatever they wish to do,” Erdogan said.

  26. Whenever I see a picture of Warren Gamaliel Harding I automatically think of his dear (cough, cough) wife Florence. She was a piece of work.

  27. I also think of the C-SPAN President series.  Always enjoy learning about the lesser known Presidents & their families.

  28. Red- facts are not in your equation.  Note name for starters.

Ping- it is good to see you around again.

  29. If attempted coup in Turkey has ties to someone residing in the US, hoo-boy, Donald will have his Cheeto dust all over that.

Sea -I guess you must be confused in identifying Bernie as commie to come up with red.   You must also be confused in identifying Hill as a Dem; she’s a DINO who has been forced to move to left by Bernie’s popularity.

  30. Ping

Nice to see you back around. Oh, i ought to take you up on that Lake Eola walk. It seems like it would be a great time to school you on the accomplishments of President Obama… Lets see, for starter’s just for me personally gay rights and saving GM.. Despite obstruction by your fellow Republican’s throughout his whole 8 years in office..

Oh and please, Trump by default, you sound like my co-worker Grace using anything as an excuse.. That lame meme about Hillary not being trustworthy, ha you and Grace voting for a Democrat, hell would freeze i’m sure..

  31. tony

    Love my Crawford place!

I live in Orlando and Obama had not one thing to do with how we are!  I have close friends impacted by the tragic terrorist attack and many are gay.  I love the fact that so many have been so moved – in their words  – That even the Trump supporters have been so great at this time.  Trump Supporters are not anti gay.  Now they are coming to realize this fact.  Some to the point they might now support Trump.

A strange thought.  Once you get passed labels and ID politics -you only see 49 victims.  For some reason it bothers me that in some ways ID politics made it a LGBT thing.  Maybe others will catch up.

    Off to bed

  32. Ping

Don’t read the platform.  That way reveals the heart of the modern GOP and it is truly ugly.

  33. LOL

Ping a good list for what the Democrats need in a presidential candidate and I take it when they nominate such a person you would gladly vote for  them.

Welcome aboard buddy, because the Democrats are going to do just that and her name is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Oh and she will be the least corrupt individual ever to occupy the office

after all $20 million worth of investigations and nothing found, nada.

Breaks a poor little hillary haters heart.

But then again maybe  being in the new anti business /nativist Republican party. is just a joy. Certainly is for a lot of folks and they just love their new great white hope

  34. Donald Trump Clearly Didn’t ‘Ask the Gays’ About Mike Pence

    by The Advocate.com editors

“Donald Trump just doubled down on his agenda of hate and discrimination by choosing the notoriously anti-LGBTQ Mike Pence for his ticket,” said Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign, which endorsed Clinton. “Mike Pence has never left any question about his animus toward LGBTQ people, from peddling a hateful and damaging ‘right to discriminate bill’ in Indiana last year, to his longstanding opposition to marriage equality — positions shared by Donald Trump.”
“Governor Mike Pence has an atrocious anti-LGBT record,” said Eliel Cruz, executive director for Faith in America, which fights religious-based bigotry. “His bigoted anti-LGBT law cost the state millions of dollars while allowing businesses to discriminate against LGBT citizens. In choosing him as a VP, Trump is proving what we’ve known all along: He’s no friend to the LGBT community.”

  35. Trump: I Would ‘Strongly Consider’ Appointing Judges To Overturn Same-Sex Marriage

    Ping

Sorry, whoever supports Trump supports his anti gay agenda. Trump is a racist bigot and you can’t wish it away.. I know, like my co-worker, Blue and millions of others just block that out.. Continue your mantra Hillary is the same as Trump or much much worse.. I as a gay person see through it all just like i did the religion that condemned me my whole life.. I clump all of you in with Trump.

  36. red – not confused at all.  you have become the one who has lost touch with reality, seemingly incapable of dealing with simple truths and facts.  red has to do with the republican party- you are no dem.

  37. “Really getting bothered by the 24/7 terror event coverage.  It seems to me that it just encourages similar actions.  Maybe without the constant over the top coverage, it wouldn’t produce so much fear and prejudice.”

Jamie, brooks had similar tho’ts on pbs newshour last night:

DAVID BROOKS: Yes, I don’t think Trump would exist as a viable candidate if it’s not for this climate for the past couple of years of psychological blows the world has endured.

You start with the economic stuff, anxiety which is of longstanding nature, but you go back to the beheadings, the ISIS beheadings. These were psychologically damaging for the country. And what we felt last week — we were on the show last week. It was rough.

    JUDY WOODRUFF: Yes.

DAVID BROOKS: It was a very depressing week.

And then this week is worse. And what’s going on in Turkey, it’s just the world is spinning out of order. And so that implicates the campaign in two ways. This campaign is in part a debate between an ardent nationalist, which Donald Trump is sort of a European-style blood-and-soil nationalist, vs. a candidate on the Democratic side who is more of a globalist, who believes in global institutions.

And these attacks all around the world, we see the dark side of globalization. And so I do think they help Trump. And then to me, the interesting thing is, people are going to want order, as Mark said. They are going to want somebody who is going to preserve order.

Normally, that means they want experience. And that would be good for Clinton. But I think in this climate of chaos, they are going to want toughness and the sort of like this authoritarianism. And that’s sort of up more Trump’s alley.

  38.

politicususa: Donald Trump Trashes His Own VP As Report Leaks That Trump Tried To Dump Mike Pence

Trump postponed his scheduled press conference announcing his running mate on Thursday night because he was angry that Indiana Republicans had already leaked word that the choice was going to be Pence. It seems that Mike Pence was forced on Donald Trump by his campaign manager Paul Manafort and the Republican Party.

above article included this tweet from dana bash: Scoop: @realDonaldTrump was so unsure about @mike_pence that around midnight last night he asked top aides if he could get out of it

  39. So Pence’s addition to the ticket will cause problems in the fundraising department due to pay to play restrictions? Wondering if this was part of the last minute squeamishness Trump reportedly had concerning the VP announcement. Maybe he should have stuck with Ivanka. 😉

  40. sjwny, it was interesting in a perverted way how drumpf waited until an hour before pence’s deadline to fish or cut bait as to his prospective race to be re-elected governor.

  41. patd,

Gotta go with Trump if he wanted Christie: it makes sense. They would have been two bulldogs working in tandem “Making America Great Again”, or at least appealing to that segment of the population. Trump/Pence brings forth the image of Curly on his side going woo-woo-woo-woo-woo: spinning & going nowhere. I do think if chosen Christie would have resigned his governorship so that would negate the fundraising hoodoo.

  42. sea – I may very well be voting (Green) for Jill Stein, even though I’m a Dem.  I guess that would make me Aqua.

Hillary has work to do to prove she will fall in line with Bernie’s stance on healthcare, minimum wage, trade agreements, fracking, etc.   She has a credibility issue.

  43. sjwny, then you might agree with bink’s submittal for the caption contest “I’m going to blame this loser when Hillary wins” to the above picture is spot on.  pence does give drumpf an excuse since he never accepts blame and readily throws others under the bus.

  44. blueid, you conveniently forget that Hillary was for universal health coverage in the early ’90s before Bernie ever said anything on the subject (nor did he use his public office to sponsor such a bill until 2007 – more than a decade later).  that was one of her first sins as 1st lady according to the republicans who accused her of being for socialized medicine and therefore a pinko commie.

  45. Hillary Clinton Opens Up in Effort to Win Voter Trust
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is trying to address negative perceptions of her honesty and likability
She gave a speech in Springfield, Ill. this week in which she acknowledged that in waging a competitive campaign she had contributed to a sense of political “division” in the country.

“I cannot stand here and claim that my words and actions haven’t sometimes fueled the partisanship that often stands in the way of our progress,” she said. ”So I recognize I have to do better, too.”

Speaking in Chicago last month she conceded that people question her trustworthiness and said, “I’ve made mistakes.” Though she maintained she has been the target of “wild accusations” over the last quarter century, she said: “I know trust has to be earned.”

Mrs. Clinton also is settling on a consistent message that it was a bad idea to use a private email account at the State Department.

  46. cnn:

Trump, multiple sources told CNN, was troubled by his gut feeling that he should have gone with his friend, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie instead, and made calls to his children and campaign chairman Paul Manafort, but was told he could not.

The Trump campaign has denied the reports that Trump had a sudden crisis of confidence over his pick of Pence, which have put the Indiana governor in an awkward position at the moment of joining the Republican ticket.

  47. Blue, HRC has no such falling in line to do.  It’s not like she’s auditioning to be Bernie’s vp after all. Bernie’s run is done.  His leverage is spent.  Its time for him to man up and start stumping for Hillary if he wants to maintain the concessions she and the party have made toward his positions.

And vote green – Texas is as red as any state so at least your wasted vote will feel good, and a big plus is that you can pull out the “Don’t blame me, I voted for Goofy” t-shirt.

  48. renee, perfect imitation.  how’s this for a drumpf diehard:

How a trump supporter takes the news re tom brady…     “oh no…  I don’t believe it…  I refuse to believe it… the system is rigged.… he’s a winner… winners can do anything they want… hard balls soft balls, who cares….so take out a little air here a little air there…  we’ll make sure no one goes to those 4 games he can’t play… we have people that can make sure it doesn’t happen…  so there.”

How a Hillary supporter takes the news…   “yeah…  so it goes…”

  49. And you conveniently forgot that now she wants to build on Obama’s broken system, that she was for TPP until Bernie was against,  that she said there was such a thing as safe fracking before Bernie said it is never safe, etc.

Bernie is the future of progressives in this country.   Hillary is the past because she is trying to have it both ways and has a web of contradictions and outright lies to address.

It’s not just me.  That’s the way it is.

ps – Pogo, My pet unicorn ears clouds and poops cotton candy.  🙂

Alright, let’s go have a good weekend and pray that there is no more breaking news.  It’s been a long 10 days.

  50. patd…  good one.  I would add… “when Tom Brady comes back, it’s gonna be huuuuuge.”

Just came back from our local farmer’s market with some great goodies.  Blueberry lemon English muffins, blueberry jam, and farm fresh eggs.  Didn’t pick up any veggies….  our garden is ready to explode (especially with squash) this week.  All this heat and humidity combined with all the pop up thunderstorms has done wonders for it.

  51. why do I keep thinking about lemmings?

today Tromp said tax exempt churches should be allowed to make political speeches from the pulpit

  52. blueid, a sample below of her trade stands quite a few years before Bernie came into the picture. for your convenience here’s a link confirming where I got the samples. they and stands on many other issues over the years by her and other politicians can be found at ontheissues

This past weekend, you expressed some disappointment that NAFTA, in your words, did not realize the benefits that it promised. How would you fix it?
A: Well, I had said that for many years, that NAFTA and the way it’s been implemented has hurt a lot of American workers. In fact, I did a study in New York looking at the impact of NAFTA on business people, workers and farmers who couldn’t get their products into Canada despite NAFTA. So, clearly we have to have a broad reform in how we approach trade. NAFTA’s a piece of it, but it’s not the only piece of it. I believe in smart trade. Pro-American trade. Trade that has labor and environmental standards, that’s not a race to the bottom but tries to lift up not only American workers but also workers around the world. It’s important that we enforce the agreements we have. That’s why I’ve called for a trade prosecutor, to make sure that we do enforce them. The Bush administration haven’t been enforcing the trade agreements at all.
    Source: 2007 AFL-CIO Democratic primary forum, Aug 7, 2007
And trade needs to become a win-win. People ask me, am I a free trader or a fair trader? I want to be a smart, pro-American trader. And that means we look for ways to maximize the impact of what we’re trying to export and quit being taken advantage of by other countries. Source: 2007 Democratic primary debate on “This Week”, Aug 19, 2007
…by 2005 she was expressing reservations about free trade agreements, voting that year against the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). And she told Bloomberg News in March 2007 that, while she still believes in free trade, she supports a freeze on new trade agreements–something she calls ”a little time-out.“

    Tell me lies
    Tell me sweet little lies

  54. Pats

you can cite multiple studies showing Hillary most honest of ALL candidates at roughly 72%.  This includes Bernie who for awhile was racking up Pinocchio s like his last name was Gepetto. It won’t do any good.  That crowd wouldn’t believe you if she was hooked up to lie detector full time.

  55. Jamie, you forgot to add to “That crowd wouldn’t believe you if she was hooked up to lie detector full time….even when being waterboarded or dunked salem witch style or prostrate on the floor while beating herself with thorny whips, wearing a hairshirt”

    I don’t know why I even try… 🙁

  56. In the ’60s Martin Luther King imagined a future world where people would not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. rightwingers of the period called this racially divisive.

President Obama urges us to see the individual not the color, and rightwingers call him racially divisive.

Compared to other locations we are being practically angelic.  It’s just that when our pet snark goes for a walk, it takes along it’s degree in creative writing.?

Latest Trump faux Pas since the homoerotic logo are signs in convention center directing folks to the “White Elevators”.  Sure center just has color coding for directional purposes, but pictures of sign popping up all over.

  58. trumpence already a word in the urban dictionary (as of 7/15/16).

Rough week for humor…best line?  When discussing the racism in Arizona, pundit mentions…”but it is a dry racism.”

  59. faux news intelligence expert found guilty of impersonating a CIA agent.

This ought to be as big a deal as the Dan Rather flap.

  60. Jamie…I could lose my halo with the trump logo, but I know how Craig hates that sort of thing.  As for the variety of opines?  Everyone’s America, too.  I know we all hold a soft spot for the middle class and the romantic idea of rural America, but in reality these are numeric, government definitions…not some magical living of the past.   Middle America has always paid their bills in the past, but the great recession robbed many of their wealth and a few lost their shelter.  We became a rental society…leasing everything.  Phones, cars, housing, etc.  Monthly living (lunatic living in reality).  I always heard renters never really take of of things as good as owners.  trumpence!!

  61. xrep…now that is funny!  Oldest pick-up line in the book.  I work for the CIA.  If I told you the truth, I would have to kill you.  The CIA neither confirms or denies his employment!  Did they find out through hacking the clinton server?

  62. Ms Wino, I don’t know how they uncovered this fraudster. Maybe the CIA was investigating the murdochcrime family & its capos.

wayne simmons also claimed to be former New Orleans Saint. The Saints never heard of him. What did bill oreilly know, and when did he know it ?

  63. Jamie, if khomeini is alive, whose cadaver did we see dumped out of the casket ?

Wrongwingers : who can count their conspiracy theories ?

  64. bw, of the examples urban dic has, I like this one best

Trumpence The punishment or fate a society deserves to receive.

The American people received their trumpence when they decided hate and ignorance was more affective and important than love and understanding.

  65. well, as usual the drumpf  is getting a lot of free publicity

wonkette: Let’s All Point And Laugh At The Stupid Ugly Trump-Pence Logo!

One thing Donald Trump always seemed to understand was branding — getting the Trump name in gold on every goddamned flat surface available. Very classy. Even those stupid “Make America Great Again” hats are strangely iconic, no matter that they’re destined to be as ubiquitous at yard sales in 2017 as Bigmouth Billy Bass singing fish plaques. But this logo for the TrumPence campaign?… Happily, the internet makes ridicule easy!

    and from politico:

Trump’s campaign logo mocked on Twitter
Some said it looked sexually suggestive.

  66. From Wikipedia on Mike Pence : Pence on Libya :Two weeks prior to the NATO intervention in Libya, Pence thanked the Obama administration and Secretary of State Clinton for their efforts to isolate the Gaddafi regime. Pence expressed support for “a no-fly zone” and stated that “Qadhafi must go”.

This should quell the Ben Gozzi bulltwit until after the election, when the rippers will start impeachment proceedings to remove President Elect Clinton.

  67. wapo: In introducing Mike Pence, Donald Trump keeps the spotlight on himself

At a news conference to introduce his newly announced running mate to his supporters, Donald Trump took the stage alone Saturday morning and then spent 28 minutes talking about all sorts of things with only brief mentions of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R).

In those moments, Trump described Pence as his “partner” and his “first choice,” despite media reports that the presumptive Republican nominee was uneasy with the selection.

    [….]

After 28 minutes, Trump called Pence onstage. In a six-second interaction, the two men shook hands, and Trump patted Pence on his left shoulder. As Pence took his place behind a lectern labeled “TRUMP,” the presumptive Republican nominee used his right thumb to point at Pence, then applauded and left the stage.

  68. There is a photo of the new TrumPence family.   The Pences are tiny; that makes the Trump’s look yuuuuge!

Melania is not in the photo.  Trouble in paradise?   Would Ivanka act as First Lady?

Still think their convention will not be smooth, even if Donald did pacify some with his pick of Pence.

    Ha! Pick Pence.  Pick Flick!

  69. Good, lord. Clintonistas are luring people playing that ridiculous Pokemon Go app and trying to get them to vote for her.  I hope anyone ticked off by their trick gets registers and votes for someone else.

  70. Trump said LBJ shut down the free speech of the clergy..turns out what LBJ did was to prohibit churches from discriminating on the basis of race

and yet no one has called him out on this and no one will ask him follow-up questions

  71. Good one, Jamie.  Picket Pence.  We may see a lot of that in Cleveland.

I’m still humming the tune from “Mary Poppins.”  Feed the turds, TrumPence a bag…every time I see that boiled potato.

  72. I’m way behind.   Just saw the TP logo.  I assume they’ve deep sized that ridiculous image.  Looks to me like donned needs to hire a graphic designer. I heard much of the trump pence rollout today.  Good lord.  It was bumper sticker after bumper sticker  after bumper sticker.   Pence needs a speech writer. And trump needs … well, anything he can get.

  73. Pogo

Yes the logo has been scrubbed after hours of at least XX equipped.  On top of that it turns out that it was previously used by Think Progress.  Apparently plagiarism and possible copyright infringement may have been too much for Donald’s basic criminality in light of actual campaign laws.

  74. Trump  loves (sic)’the gays’ and the vets and picks the most anti-gay anti vet person possible

  75. from Jamie’s link
Trump is unstable, a liar, narcissistic, contemptuous of the basic norms of political life, and deeply embedded among the most paranoid and irrational of conspiracy theorists. There may indeed be a pathos to his followers’ dreams of some populist rescue for their plights. But he did not come to political attention as a “populist”; he came to politics as a racist, a proponent of birtherism.
As I have written before, to call him a fascist of some variety is simply to use a historical label that fits.

  76. Pence pissed off “the gays” by signing the stupidity bill and pissed off the idiot base by walking it back. His line has to be  “Nobody loves me but my mother and I think she may be jiving, too.”

  77. Trump has just unveiled his secret weapon…..Scott Baio. All you Hillary and Bernie supporters can SIT ON IT!
