“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

  1. if AP got barred from DODO’s presence just for one word what next for CBS after this?

A constitutional law professor and a former USAID administrator are raising questions about President Trump’s actions around USAID and what it could mean about the role of Congress in Washington.

too bad this had to compete with the SNL extravaganza last night. kudos to CBS and those who were courageous enough to speak out knowing punishment if not exile and vilification follows next. .

  2. The Friday SNL concert was fantastic and Sunday’s reunion was pure fun.
Massive protests today around the nation. Down with DOGE!

  3. excerpt from Jim Acosta Calls for Reporters to Boycott Trump Admin Over AP Blacklist

“It is crucial for news outlets to unite in opposition to any attempts by the administration to harm individual journalists and their organizations,” Acosta wrote on his Substack, The Jim Acosta Show, Sunday.

“News organizations in Washington should be banding together to send the message that members of the press will determine how they cover the news,” Acosta continued. “Not the White House. Not the man behind the Resolute Desk, no matter how he redraws the world’s maps. The presidential Sharpie is not mightier than the pen.”

The former White House correspondent proceeded to outline how reporters could send a message to the Trump administration, writing that the AP should consider challenging the White House in court—and if that doesn’t work, news organizations could even boycott the administration’s briefings.

In turn, “news outlets then must rally to the cause” by publicizing their support for AP and “if necessary, refusing to cover presidential movements in solidarity until Trump backs down.”

“Trump may respond by inviting only sycophants and right-wing hacks to chronicle his daily decrees,” Acosta continued. “Fine. Let the American people soak that in — the image of an aspiring autocrat and his servile propagandists.”

  4. how they’re reporting it today in DC on FOX5
Federal workforce firings prompt ‘No Kings Day’ protests | FOX 5 DC

“No Kings Day” protest targets federal workforce cuts nationwide

The 50501 Movement, named for its goal of 50 protests in 50 states, is planning demonstrations at the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., and in major cities nationwide. The group’s flyer declares its mission to unite against “fascism and tyranny,” condemning what they see as anti-democratic and illegal moves by the Trump administration to slash the federal workforce.

Protests have gained momentum as efforts to shrink the federal workforce have intensified. Officials and unions report layoffs at USAID, NIH, and the VA, and the Associated Press states that the IRS is also expected to lose thousands of staffers as tax season begins. Last week, President Donald Trump signed an executive order instructing Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, to execute massive federal staffing cuts. Over the weekend, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) instructed agencies to lay off probationary employees, potentially affecting hundreds of thousands of federal workers nationwide.

  5. reminder that flooding the phones of GOPer congressmen would also help.
last week even League of Women Voters sent out mailings to implore folk to call their elected officials. they conveniently provided the cap switchboard no: (202) 224-3121.and suggestions such as “ID yourself as a constituent…focus on a specific topic… ask them to take specific action…make points quickly and concisely… best to use your own words.”

  6. There is so much “The Press” could do against the morons but it seems that most of them would rather be sewage.

  7. Why did so many corporations drop DEI? Adolf’s EO did not control what private businesses do. Target says they are reinstating it, but they showed their true face when they obeyed in advance.

Those EOs aren’t all powerful. He is not a king.

Could only leave a message for one Senator today; the other’s mailbox is full. Was surprised to get through, as calls were disconnected immediately late last week and I thought my number had been blocked. Eh, not that Republicans listen to their non-MAGAt constituents.

  8. Are we so big that martial law would be impossible? How long before at least half of the troops who can see that there will be no vet benefits decide to defend the Constitution and not the con man?

  9. MAGAts are whining about Tom Hanks in a red cap on SNL last night, portraying them as afraid to shake the hand of a black man. These are the same folks who refuse to say Elon Musk did a n@zi salute twice, and failed to condemn yt supremacists marching in Tennessee, and Ohio, and DC, etc.

Why were they watching a woke show, anyway? They couldn’t handle looking in a mirror. Owned by libs and crying MAGAt tears.

  10. …after complaining for years about how “woke” attitudes ruined comedy

    yet can’t take a joke

  11. Are we so big that martial law would be impossible”

kind of question we don’t want the answer to

  12. btw all the people who complained libs ruined comedy, like Rob Schneider, for example, are just shitty comedians

Seinfeld works clean beyond a “lib” standard, most successful comedian ever. Ray Romano, also clean, almost as successful. Nate Bargatze currently very successful, only works clean

    The troll comedians just suck

  13. Hmmm. Fewer than 3 million active military, worldwide v about 335 million citizens (so as not to double-count military as citizens), and all of those guns floating around (for now) – and active military who hate Elon, if not Felon – and for active military who see their future benefits going pffft & remembering their oath to defend the Constitution…yeah, I think protesting in the streets will be fine, until yt supremacists start shooting…and then there goes your 2nd Amendment rights.

  14. BB – That’s why the cult’s time is limited to Orange’s lifespan. Nobody is going to follow JD. Friendly fire.

  15. i’m sure the fascists have post-guyliner plans and candidates, they always have another aspirant ghoul waiting in the wings

  16. Watching over the air TV for the weather at 5:50pm. Just saw a Hyundai commercial, they are asking 2.99% auto loan (yes I know that is for special people). They are giving money if you borrow considering the rate of inflation, especially what it will be soon. A classic example of when to borrow versus paying cash. Also, I like Hyundai cars. I would buy another if I could drive a small car again. Bad back, getting in cars makes a disc slip out ending up in a wheelchair.

  17. Complete boycott in Feb 28th. No gas, no nothing.

Then, March 7 – 14 is when Bezos gets a longer taste of boycotting Amazon & Wholesale Foods.

The 14th is also a national strike.

And, of course, the 15th is the Ides of March.

  18. https://www.newsweek.com/airbnb-joe-gebbia-doge-team-mmebers-elon-musk-2032324

    Vivek had been replaced!

“Joe Gebbia, the billionaire co-founder of Airbnb, has reportedly joined Elon Musk‘s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).”

”In addition to his role on Tesla‘s board, he has collaborated with Musk on various initiatives and investments, reinforcing their shared vision of efficiency-driven innovation.”

“Gebbia’s entry into DOGE marks a significant shift, bringing his entrepreneurial experience into a government initiative known for its radical approach to cost-cutting. His background in disruptive business models at Airbnb aligns with Musk’s vision of streamlining federal operations.”

“DOGE’s leadership team includes a mix of Musk associates, technology executives and policy advisers. Key figures include Christopher Stanley, a former security engineer at Twitter (now X), Brad Smith, an ex-Trump administration official linked to Operation Warp Speed, and Steve Davis, a longtime Musk confidant involved in DOGE’s early staffing efforts.”

“The team also includes a number of younger tech professionals and former SpaceX employees, reinforcing Musk’s preference for nontraditional government hires.”

    DOGE is quickly getting bloated.

ps – Add AirBnB to the boycott forever list. Tank that company! We will teach them that everything tRUMP touches dies.

  19. Looks like I had already stayed at my last-ever Airbnb place last summer and didn’t even know it.

  20. BiD, I’m in.

Complete boycott in Feb 28th. Buy nothing, No gas, no nothing.
Then, March 7–14 Boycott Amazon & Whole Foods.
    The 14th a national strike.

  21. Musk is in the Social Security Administration now. There is no guarantee whatsoever our deposits will post anymore.
Roosevelt promised no politician will ever destroy S.S. Musk is not a politician. He’s an agent for his class of billionaires.
Ike said anybody trying to gut S.S. would fail and look “stupid”. Yep.
This information is from Lawrence O’Donnell’s show.
