  1. Trump’s stunt today is a return to Butler. Massive truck barricades are surrounding the area and the press and everybody else are prohibited from penetrating the secured perimeter. Prohibited by heavily armed guards every few feet, and this was yesterday. With BMG 50 sniper rifles, targets are easily hit in 3 inch groupings from 2 freaking miles away, and newer beta models have hit 5 feet groupings from FOUR miles, somehow. So nobody is safe anywhere. I can guarantee this, no Trump detail Secret Service agent, no Butler cop, no sheriff, no security guard, are sleeping right now just after 6:00 AM. Pins and needles and darting eyeballs. They just want this nightmare over.

  2. Yes, Dex, but he shows he’s tough and unafraid of Butler now that his ear is healed 🙄 and the 20 year old aspiring assassin is dead, he has bulletproof glass around him and he’s being treated to presidential level secret service protection. Tough guy. I’m seeing that fist up defiant photo from his last trip there next to the Dumbass-JDouché campaign signs. Makes me give those signs the old middle finger salute.

    Sturg, melted sugar daddy. Perfect.

  3. Wish the leaves were turning.  Central Park is still green, so I’ve missed the fall colors, again.  Never have been here at peak leaf peeping time.
ps – The TikTok astrologers say it’s October 11th that something in the race will change, again.  This would be a good time for journalists to question what really happened to him and his magic ear.

  4. First wave of PA mail-in, absentee ballots received.

  5. BiD…   it’s not even peak here in southern NH yet… but soon.   My sister lives in Queens and she told me they don’t hit peak until around the first week of Nov.

  6. It was always the first week in November when I lived in Maryland. No colors like the northeast colors.

  7. rr – It doesn’t seem to matter when I get here, the leaves are either green or gone.
Saw a really good movie at NYFF, titled The Friend.  Now, I need to read the book.  The author, directors, and Naomi Watts gave a little talk after the screening.   The real star is a Great Dane, who was also there and such a good boy.

  8. There are a lot of reporters like Jennifer Griffin at FOX who have had much experience with FEMA when covering disasters, have seen its incredible work — and they are outraged by Trump’s insulting, irresponsible and dangerous lies, and coming to the agency’s defense.

FACT SHEET: FEMA has already helped thousands of Hurricane Helene survivors jumpstart their recoveries with more than $110 million in federal assistance. More than 6,400 personnel from across the federal workforce are deployed, including FEMA staff. To date, FEMA has shipped over 13.2million meals, more than 13.4 million liters of water, 157 generators and more than 492,000 tarps to the region.

    Support for North Carolina

Financial Support: FEMA has provided more than $26 million in housing and other types of assistance to over 25,000 households.

    Staffing

In North Carolina, more than 700 FEMA staff are on the ground, with more arriving daily. Over 1,200 Urban Search and Rescue personnel are in North Carolina helping people. As of today, these teams have rescued or supported over 3,200 survivors. Dozens of Disaster Survivor Assistance staff are on the ground in affected areas to help survivors apply for FEMA assistance and connect them with additional state, local, federal and voluntary agency resources. Over 1,000 National Guard Bureau troops have deployed to North Carolina to support response and recovery efforts. To date, troops have delivered nearly one million pounds of food, water and other supplies. Experienced FEMA leaders from around the country are in the field to bolster response efforts. Field Coordinating Officer Thomas McCool, Region 3 Regional Administrator MaryAnn Tierney, Region 7 Regional Administrator Andrea Spillars and Chief Financial Officer Mary Comans are on the ground overseeing response operations.

    NC FEMA Shelter

Over 800 people who cannot return home are staying in safe and clean lodging through FEMA’s Transitional Shelter Assistance program.Transitional Sheltering Assistance is available for North Carolinians displaced by Tropical Storm Helene. Residents in declared counties who have applied for disaster assistance may be eligible to stay temporarily in a hotel or motel paid for by FEMA while they work on their long-term housing plan. People do not need to request this assistance. FEMA will notify them of their eligibility through an automated phone call, text message, and/or email, depending upon the method of communication they selected at the time of application for disaster assistance. Twenty-two shelters are housing just over 1,000 occupants. Mobile feeding operations continue to help survivors in heavily impacted areas, including three mass feeding sites in Buncombe, McDowell and Watauga counties.

Power and Cellular Restoration in North Carolina: FEMA – As of today, more than 74% of originally reported power outages have been restored. Nearly 8,000 crews continue to assist with remaining power restoration efforts. Cellular restoration continues to improve, with less than 25% of cellular sites down as of today. As of today, only two counties have 50% or more cell sites down. Two Federal Communications Commission surveillance teams are conducting inspection operations on equipment in targeted counties. FEMA is boosting response coordination by providing Starlink units to ensure first responders can communicate with each other. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has full mobile cellular service.

UPDATE on XVIII Airborne Corps, 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne active duty troops operating in western NC:

A battalion out of Ft Campbell, KY from the 101st is en route as we speak. Getting word FEMA will request another battalion (total of 3) and it will come out of 101st Airborne also. Until now FEMA has requested and Def Secretary Lloyd Austin has authorized 1000 active duty troops organized by Ft Liberty. They are all deployed into Western NC as of this morning. They include the 20th Engineering Brigade from Ft Liberty and a Combat Aviation Brigade with air assets.

The Engineering brigade has 5 teams working with NC National Guard to setting up helicopter landing zones and clearing routes with military bulldozers for humanitarian aid delivery. They are operating in the Marion NC area.

The 82nd Airborne Combat Aviation Brigade from Ft Liberty now based in Asheville has delivered 144,780 lbs of humanitarian assistance in 14 distribution operations working with National Guard partners and has 7 Chinook-47 large airlift helicopters working around the clock from Asheville.

12 Hueys are preparing to deploy to join 8 additional Hueys already carrying out rescue ops.

  10. There are dangerous animals in the swamp, but also dangerous geography. The waters can be deceptively deep and impossible to climb out of, and over the years many lives have been lost beneath its waters.

  11. Monitoring this rally to see if they can use the assassination attempt to turn things around in Pennsylvania. Speakers are pouring it on thick right now trying to turn him into an angel of God — literally.

Doing the “Air Force One” Flyover right now

  12.

    @HalfwayPost
BREAKING: Leaked private texts from JD Vance reportedly show him complaining about campaigning with Donald Trump because of Trump’s “expired roast beef stench.”

  13. Rick Taylor, throwing in with Olbermann:

For 4 years I have been screaming about the attempt to overthrow our Government.
48 hours ago proof of THE BIGGEST political scandal in modern history broke of an ex-President and his co-conspirators in Congress attempting a COUP and its all but disappeared from the news

  14. This could be true.
    Breaking:
looks like Special Counsel Jack smith is planning to indict in November over 200 GOP members of congress who assisted Trump in conspiring “to overturn the presidential election and overthrow the government.”

  15. trump’s like “damn security is so tight how am i gonna stage a 2nd fake attempt with collateral damage” 🤔

  16. this rally is the rootinest tootinest celebration of a staged assassination attempt ive ever seen

  17. Elon and Felon.   Apparently, Musk thinks Agent Smith was the hero instead of Neo.  He’s a creep. His time will come to an end and there will be dancing.

  18. Trump blames Dems for trying to assassinate him:

“Over the past 8 years, those who want to stop us from achieving this future have slandered me, impeached me, indicted me … and who knows, maybe even tried to kill me.”

  19. omg it’s still going on??
