Swallow This

“Fascinating” as Mr. Spock would muse about the big gulp ahead for earth and others from last night’s science segment on PBS NewsHour Weekend.

It’s been an exciting time for astronomers, astrophysicists and other scientists who specialize in deciphering the far reaches of space. Since the beginning of May, observations of some never-before-seen celestial events have been reported in science journals. Science correspondent Miles O’Brien joins John Yang to explain the latest findings.

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

  1. so the sun’s gonna swallow us up someday, so inflation’s gonna get worse or we’ll have a recession sometime soon, so the big turd is smelling up the airwaves again

  2. I’m leaving in a few hours to go to Ogunquit Maine.  We have tickets to go see the Carole King musical “Beautiful” at the playhouse on Wednesday.  It was there last fall and we couldn’t make it then.  Luckily.. it was such a smash hit that the playhouse has brought it back this spring.  We jumped on tickets early.  Can’t wait to see it and to smell the ocean once again.

  4. I miss some things in the deep south, and here still we have our boeberts, etc., like anywhere else, but I overall I feel so much better living in a blue state.

  5. Holy cow…….Randy Rainbow KILLS it.

Carole King and anything ABOUT Carole King drips Greatness. She was tawkin’ to me long before there were Beatles or a Dylan…….

  6. The Drifters used to come often to appear at the beach pavilion we played…..We opened for and backed them at least 15 times over the course of a couple and a half years we had that gig, like 65, 66, 67.   Yugo think I’m a liar when I tell you that they were a different bunch of Original Drifters every time.  I once played a joint in the middle of Myrtle Beach and there were TWO sets of Original Drifters playing the same night…..one in North Myrtle and one to the south, Surfside.    That was a big music joke back then, how many agents were booking how many sets of Original Drifters.

Why did the Original Drifter cross the road?  lol

  7. Wow…if ya want a good rock and roll “read”  check out the wikipedia article on “The Drifters”    Crazy, Man…..
