And, in this case, they vacated a person’s sentence who had been — or vacated the conviction of a person who had been convicted under this law.

    In refuting those statistics, Kevin LoRusso, a lobbyist with Colorado’s most-prominent gun rights group Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, said guns are the leading cause of death for American children only if you include the Black children killed.
    “If you remove black males in that age group from that, it is not true, and that is a symptom of a different issue, the issue that is causing young black males to be killed in their homes, on their street is a very different issue,” he said.

  6. The idiot from Colorado gun owners group has it exactly right. A way to reduce gun violence as a statistical cause of death among children is to remove groups of children from the statistical pool, but he’s got it wrong. The best way to have a dramatic effect is to remove the biggest groups from the pool. I would suggest removing any dead children who are not white, Christian females of European descent because dead kids who aren’t white, Christians of European descent don’t count, so they aren’t really dead so they really count, and excluding females would be sexist and we don’t want to look too prejudiced so we’ll include them. That would make the numbers better and give lawmakers a basis to restrict gun ownership among people in those groups.

  14. And in another world, babysitting rates are up – again.  I think back to those heady days when I got twenty-five cents an hour, today’s rates are not even close to that adjusted for inflation. I started at ten cents per hour.  I am thinking about maybe doing something about the shortage.  (Spoiler – no way unless they are my great-grandchildren).

  15. So…..Music and albums……When cassettes and then CD’s came out they robbed the buyer of perhaps half of the album’s intrinsic value by loss of the ART which by necessity had become  too small.    

    Hiney sight: The albums should have remained exactly the same size. The records could be smaller.

    A Humongus business failure.

    Ergo……Music is ruined.

Happy Friday.  Just read an economic sheet, not public, talking about major retailers which are refusing to accept new price increases on products.  This might stabilize prices or reductions (I’ve already seen this in action in the D.C./Baltimore region). There was a lot of boring stuff.  Basically, with transportation, packaging, raw products all dropping in costs, there was little to make a price increase. Yup. Life is good.

    BB – I don’t know why they didn’t use price controls six months ago? Corporations have made billions. Some of it, not all, is baloney.

    It’s interesting how this new crop of GQPers are falsely claiming to be Jewish. It’s frightening to see how easily we could be infiltrated by someone acting in the interest of a foreign state. I’m not saying we were, but these unknowns need to be better vetted by the party and any actual journalists in the media.
