Today marks the one-year anniversary of the fatal shootings at St. Stephen’s Church in Cahaba Heights, AL. I spent many hours in the rooms of this church (mostly the basement) but also the hall where the terrible event happened. Another lesson that these events can and do strike close when you least expect it. A big chunk of my heart is still there and with my friends who are still coping with this loss. I will definitely visit the memorial when I get back “home.”

I did see it. He (Jim) hit him (the shooter) in the face with a chair before he tackled him. I guess that changes the BS from “good guy with a gun” to “good guy with a chair”.
