15 point swing among white women to GOP scariest of all for Democrats in Virginia results:

50% Biden, 49% Trump 

57% Youngkin, 43% McAuliffe 

Among non-college white women it was a 39pt shift? Child tax credit, paid family leave and free community college all good ideas for appealing to them.

These white women numbers guarantee losing Congress if not dealt with. After all, they were crucial to Dems winning WH and Congress in the first place. 

DNC and Senate/House campaign committees should jointly fund a Manhattan Project to deep dive this white women problem, put Claire McCaskill and David Plouffe in charge.

  1. forget the deep dive studies and all the navel gazing lint picking, just GET STUFF DONE!

    no more congressional weeks & weekends off to go to districts or junkets or holiday observations or unnecessary meetings.  mandate floor and vital committee attendance.  both nancy and chuck need to keep the critters at the capitol 24-7 until major legislation gets done.  lock the doors if need be, have them sleep on cloak room cots and restrict them to bread, water and u.s. senate bean soup.

    oh, and take away their cell phones.

  3. The gubernatorial election results in Virginia and New Jersey pointed to a strong showing by Republicans and those unhappy with President Biden. Elsewhere in the GOP, Rep. Lauren Boebert offended many by mocking the idea that new parents deserve paid family leave to tend to their newborns.

    the above cartoon on messaging is also the case with party mail-outs.  notice how dem campaign/funding letters are always pages and pages of tiny type while gopers’ are usually a flashy one pager 1 phrase long  repeated over and over again (employing the tell a lie enough times and it becomes believable gambit).  they both land in the land-fill but at least one was read and is more eco-friendly in reality while the other was ignored even tho  promoting long lists of mego green messaging.   

    so, dems,  STFU and get stuff that actually does something done.

  7. Intensely focus group white women, suburban and rural, college and non-college, just listen to them, don’t make assumptions. Learn what’s bugging them, don’t preach. We need them.

  28. The entire GOP party platform is constructed on an irrational fear of death, if that helps.  That’s why they all want guns, and are afraid of everyone that isn’t them, and why they ignore climate change, and why they cling to religion, etc.

  31. Our entire economy is garbage-based, LITERALLY.  An economy based on producing garbage.  That can’t end well

    You think Biden really needs to be at Cop26? He just begged the Port of Los Angeles to unload their garbage packaged in garbage faster so we can use fossil fuel to ship it so the end-user can throw it away and then use more fossil fuel to take the garbage packaging and the garbage product to a landfill

    Repeat that process more quickly, our livelihoods depend on it!!!
