  1. or as the new production of the play pronounces it: “God oh”

notable quote from the play zeitgeist-wise:

…Let us not waste our time in idle discourse! Let us do something, while we have the chance….at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for once the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us! What do you say?

  6. Yes, when I went upstairs to get dressed, etc., turned the TV on and before I could even remember the SEC channel No. I heard Dumbass lobbying the Pres. Herzog to pardon Bibi. Might be a heavy lift – his pardon power is broad, but unlike the pardon power of a US Pres., it requires a signoff by the Minister of Justice or Defense, depending on the pardon, is subject to judicial review, and according to Google AI the official Israeli policy is to consider a request for a pardon only after all judicial proceedings in a case have concluded, although that has been bypassed and upheld by the Supreme Court, which is referring their High Court of Justice. Herzog granted that pardon in the Bus 300 affair.

  8. So, inflation. by the numbers. Inflation rose from 2.3 to 3.0 from Sept. ’24 to Jan. ’25. It fell to 2.3 in April and was back to 2.9 in August. Consensus predictions by economists was 2.9 for September, although as we all know, Dumbass’ Commerce Dept. did not release September numbers – with only 30 day sin Sept., I guess they didn’t have enough time to cook the books. Trade Economics released the following on 9/11/25.

The US annual inflation rate accelerated to 2.9% in August 2025, the highest since January, after holding at 2.7% in both June and July, in line with market expectations. Prices rose at a faster pace for food (3.2% vs 2.9% in July), used cars and trucks (6% vs 4.8%), and new vehicles (0.7% vs 0.4%). Also, energy cost increased for the first time in seven months (0.2% vs -1.6%). Prices for gasoline (-6.6% vs -9.5%) and fuel oil (-0.5% vs -2.9%) decreased less and the rise for natural gas prices remained elevated (13.8% vs 13.8%). Meanwhile, inflation steadied for transportation services (3.5% vs 3.5%) and slowed slightly for shelter (3.6% vs 3.7%).On a monthly basis, the CPI went up 0.4%, the most since January, above forecasts of 0.3%. Shelter rose 0.4% and made the largest upward pressure. On the other hand, core inflation remained steady at 3.1%, the same as in July and at February’s peak, while core CPI rose 0.3% month-on-month, matching July’s pace and market forecasts.

Not sure how to distill all that, but it ain’t what I see at Walmart and Kroger.

  9. https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/12/middleeast/gaza-hamas-security-war-intl

Hamas is reasserting control of parts of Gaza not occupied by Israeli forces as the ceasefire takes hold – amid continuing uncertainty about security in the territory if the group is disarmed.

Hamas’ internal security forces were pictured on the streets of Gaza City on Saturday, and there have been multiple reports of clashes between the group and clans opposing it in recent days.

“A number of collaborators and informants were apprehended and arrested in Gaza City, after it was proven that they were involved in spying for the enemy,” as well as “participating in the assassination of several resistance members,” the Palestinian Home Front, a Telegram channel affiliated with Hamas, said Sunday.

President Trump’s Gaza ceasefire deal seems to be more geared toward preparing the region to be his “Riviera of the Middle East” than offering self-determination to Palestinians.

“Can you promise Palestinians they will be able to stay?” a reporter asked Trump at his Thursday Cabinet meeting, just a day after he announced the ceasefire deal.

Q: Can you promise Palestinians they will be able to stay?

TRUMP: Uhhh. Well they know exactly what we’re doing. You can’t live right now in Gaza. pic.twitter.com/Imz909nduP

*Orange Adolf doesn’t uphold his oath to the US Constitution, ignores court orders, doesn’t pay contractors, cheats on his many wives…this is a dirty deal and everyone knows it. Will it help Palestinians in the short term? Maybe. Is food and medical aid even being allowed to reach them? Will Israeli hostages be freed or their remains released to families? For most, it will be cold comfort.

The world would be better off had BiBi and tRUMP never been born.

  10. The alternative to inflatable costumes for protests: Soap bubbles. Lots of folks blowing bubbles in Portland.

Anything colorful, joyful, and lighthearted. Fascists hate that sh/t.

If confronted by agitators, may I suggest singing happy songs. Folks in Illinois were singing “Sweet Caroline.” Even the yt supremacists know that one, do it might knock them out of their hateful vibration a bit. Vibes are a thing.

Alternatively, just chant for the release of the EPSTEIN files.

  11. Had a very busy weekend.
The first thing I learned to weave over 50 yrs ago was Navajo style rugs. My loom (built out of pipes and 2X4s) looked very similar to the loom pics posted yesterday.

Haven’t woven that way in years…. it takes physical strength to tighten the warp. Navajos start out learning to spin the wool… weave during their prime years… and end spinning when older.

And yes… they are taught to purposely make a mistake at the end of the rug…. as only God can be perfect.

BTW… I never sold any of those weavings… it’s frowned on for white people to do so…

  12. Pog, I asked AI Sam to take a shot at distilling those numbers:

“Here’s the nutshell version, stripped of jargon and spreadsheet fumes:

Inflation ticked up to 2.9% in August, the highest since January. The main culprits were food (3.2%), used cars (6%), and a small rebound in energy prices, which had been falling for months. Gasoline is still cheaper than last year but not dropping as fast, while natural gas is stubbornly expensive (up nearly 14%).

The monthly CPI jumped 0.4%, mostly because housing costs keep creeping up. The core inflation rate (which ignores food and energy) stayed put at 3.1%, meaning underlying prices aren’t cooling much.

Translation for actual humans: the price surges have slowed but aren’t done haunting your grocery list — especially if you eat, drive, or pay rent, which unfortunately covers most of us.”

Iconic American apparel company Levi Strause is only slightly affected by Trump tariffs. Why? Their manufacturing is spread across multiple countries and 3/5 of their sales are outside of the US. At the moment they seem to be an American company in name only.

Heading to a Protest? Lock Down Your Phone First

To minimize the extent to which your phone can be tracked, do the following:

    Shut off Wi-Fi.

Disable location services until you absolutely need them.

    Ditto Bluetooth.

If you don’t need to use your data connection, switch it off, too. However, this may hamper your ability to use encrypted communications.

Again, if you can, leave your phone at home. If not, at least shut it down.

If you’re using facial recognition or your thumbprint, you can be forced to open your phone. A passcode requires a warrant.

  18. https://coinbuzznow.com/news/baron-trump-record-profit-crypto-shorting/

Baron Trump reportedly made a staggering $1.4 billion profit by shorting the crypto market, and many are questioning the transparency behind his trading activities. On October 12, 2025, the news broke, igniting fierce discussions among people on forums.

*The corrupt nut never falls far from the corrupt tree.

Timing allegations: A new wallet reportedly received $100 million shortly before a tariff announcement. Critics speculate this suggests prior knowledge of market movements.

Trust issues: Many participants expressed doubt about the credibility of the reports, pushing back against claims that seem unfounded. “Is on forums so it must be 100% true,” quipped one commenter, underscoring skepticism.

With Baron Trump’s massive crypto profits under scrutiny, there’s a strong chance regulatory bodies will ramp up investigations into trading practices. Experts estimate around a 70% probability that these inquiries might lead to stricter guidelines in the crypto space, especially regarding asset trading involving politically connected individuals. Legislators could face pressure from the public, prompting them to address calls for more clarity and accountability in the markets. This scrutiny may spark debates in Washington, which could lead to reformative measures focused on greater transparency, aimed at restoring public trust.

President Donald Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto were reportedly overheard discussing a potential meeting with Trump’s son, Eric, an executive vice president of the Trump Organization, following a Gaza-focused summit in Egypt on Monday.

Speaking to Trump as the two men stood behind a podium with a microphone, Prabowo refers to a region that is “not safe, security-wise” and then asks Trump: “Can I meet Eric?”

  20. ‘A Loser’: Fox News’ Karl Rove Warns Trump That His Latest National Guard Gambit Is Bad Politics

“Well, I think you touched on an important point. If you take a look at the Reuters-Ipsos poll, 58% of those surveyed said they believe that you should send troops only for external threats. However, we’re deeply, and the Republicans are 51%, Democrats 72 and other, their way to get independents ,is 53. But if you look deeper, there’s another question, which was, should the president send troops even if a governor objects. That was 37 ‘Yes,’ 48 ‘No,’ and it was 70-18 among Republicans, 13-79 among Democrats, and 28-50 among independents. So yes, we don’t like him, we believe he shouldn’t deploy. If a governor objects, though, the partisanship starts to be felt. Republicans say ‘Yeah, override the governor,’ Democrats say no, and independents tend to side with the Democrat voters and say, ‘No, I don’t think that should happen,” replied Rove.

“This ultimately I think will tend to be a loser if the question is: Should the president do this or should he have done it? On the other hand it might get him a slight improvement among the people saying-, who are concerned about crime by saying well at least he’s taking action. But overall I think this is going to end up being a loser for the president.”

  21. The girl in the red coat in Schindler’s List symbolizes the innocence and humanity of the Holocaust victims, highlighting the tragedy of lost lives and individual suffering amidst the overwhelming scale of the Nazi atrocities. Her color and vulnerability draw attention to the senselessness of the violence and the need for compassion, acting as a turning point for Oskar Schindler to confront the horror and his own involvement in it.
Here’s a breakdown of her symbolism:
Innocence and Individuality: The red coat stands out against the film’s predominantly black-and-white imagery, representing the pure, untainted innocence of the Jewish people who were being slaughtered. It makes the event relatable by focusing on a single child among the masses.
A Call to Action: The red coat serves as a visual “red flag,” symbolizing a desperate cry for help that went largely unheeded by the Allied powers. It highlights the failure of the wider world to intervene effectively.
A Catalyst for Schindler’s Transformation: Observing the girl from a hilltop, Schindler is riveted and forced to confront the brutal reality of the Holocaust and his own complicity. Her presence marks the moment he begins to change from a war profiteer to a rescuer.
The Death of Innocence: Later in the film, Schindler sees the girl again in a pile of dead bodies, her lifeless body still bearing the red coat. This moment symbolizes the ultimate loss of innocence and the devastating fate of even the most vulnerable.
Humanity in the Face of Horror: By focusing on the girl’s individual story and her vulnerability, the film underscores the profound loss of individual lives and the dehumanizing nature of the genocide.

DOJ Official, Gun Groups Clash Over Claim That Pam Bondi Sought Membership Lists in Lawsuit

Second Amendment advocates calling for Bondi’s ouster claim she sought gun owners’ identities through a court order, but a senior DOJ official called the allegation “fake news.”

Several gun rights organizations have launched a campaign demanding U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi be fired, accusing her of a long anti-gun track record and claiming she ordered gun owner membership lists to be turned over to the federal government.

However, a senior Department of Justice (DOJ) official repudiated those accusations as a “false” characterization of the case, saying Bondi must abide by modern procedures to enforce injunctive relief in light of the Trump v. Casa decision — and urged supporters of the president to reject the accusations.

i suppose someone could try that original twitter post’s source

conservatives wouldn’t bother checking and would even post a deliberately misleading photo, but I am not going to send people an unsourced or misleading photo

  26. You see, that deepfake Trump posted of Jefferies and Schumer with Jefferies in the sombrero was very deliberate to make you question any media you see so they can dispute anything and it was made to look deliberately shitty for plausible deniability, but make no mistake- It was very sophisticated.

take the cartoon racist elements out of it and I’m not sure I would’ve been able to tell it was real or not and certainly not. If somebody played audio of it would you be able to tell, that sounded exactly like Schumer

  27. Recent Incident Involving ICE and a 6-Year-Old Child
Yes, there are credible reports of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents handcuffing a 6-year-old child as part of immigration enforcement actions under the Trump administration’s heightened deportation efforts in 2025. This appears to stem from a viral video shared widely on social media, showing a young immigrant girl being restrained with her hands behind her back during an arrest. The incident has sparked significant outrage, with critics describing it as traumatic and inhumane, while DHS has not directly addressed this specific case in available statements.
    Key Details from the Incident
Date and Context: The video, which surfaced around October 10, 2025, depicts ICE agents arresting a 6-year-old girl, believed to be an undocumented immigrant child. It aligns with broader reports of ICE targeting families and minors in routine enforcement operations, including courthouse arrests and community raids.
What Happened: In the footage, the child is shown crying and being handcuffed behind her back by an ICE agent. Observers and family members have described the scene as deeply distressing, with the child appearing terrified. This occurred amid Trump’s mass deportation push, which has led to increased scrutiny of how minors are handled during detentions.
Public Reaction: On X (formerly Twitter), the video has been shared thousands of times, with users condemning the treatment as “inhumane” and “traumatizing for life.” For instance, one post called it “Trump’s America,” highlighting the emotional impact on the child. Advocacy groups like the ACLU have amplified similar cases, arguing that such tactics violate ICE’s own policies on handling minors.
    Broader Context and Similar Cases
This isn’t an isolated event. ICE’s enforcement surge since January 2025 has involved detaining children in ways that raise humanitarian concerns, though handcuffing very young kids is rare and highly controversial. Here’s a summary of related verified incidents:
