My dad and Joe Louis (Barrow) grew up working the same sawmill in east Alabama……every time the old man would wind up in Vegas he and Joe would get to chat a bit about the mill….. None of those people will vote for Moore.
My aunt worked the textiles in Fairfax Alabama……..we always got cheap towels……she would have viewed Moore as “common as pig’s tracks”.

Back in the 70s, before I left ‘bama for the wilds of Maine & NH, my ex sis-in-law was a member of the Alabama Democratic Executive Committee and a Dem elector.  She hosted a fundraiser for Richard Shelby way back when – when he was still a democrat.  Even then I thought his drawl was ridiculously exaggerated – and my maternal family was from Opelika, and bruddah, the drawls down there are thicker’n molasses in January. I thought he was a decent enough guy  … right up until he switched parties to save his electoral ass.
