   A staffer for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign instructed Republicans planning to cast electoral college votes for Trump in Georgia despite Joe Biden’s victory to operate in “complete secrecy,” an email obtained by The Washington Post shows.
   “I must ask for your complete discretion in this process,” wrote Robert Sinners, the campaign’s election operations director for Georgia, the day before the 16 Republicans gathered at the Georgia Capitol to sign certificates declaring themselves duly elected. “Your duties are imperative to ensure the end result — a win in Georgia for President Trump — but will be hampered unless we have complete secrecy and discretion.”
   The Dec. 13, 2020, email went on to instruct the electors to tell security guards at the building that they had an appointment with one of two state senators. “Please, at no point should you mention anything to do with Presidential Electors or speak to the media,” Sinners continued in bold.
   The admonishments suggest that those who carried out the fake elector plan were concerned that, had the gathering become public before Republicans could follow through on casting their votes, the effort could have been disrupted. Georgia law requires that electors fulfill their duties at the State Capitol. On Dec. 14, 2020, protesters for and against the two presidential candidates had gathered on the Capitol grounds.
   The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, which begins public hearings on Thursday, is likely to highlight the scheme to appoint fake electors and explore whether top Trump campaign officials initiated the strategy as part of a larger effort to overturn the democratic election.

   Pressure is building for an international agreement on a rescue mission for Ukraine’s grain, which is desperately needed to feed the world, and which Kyiv urgently wants to sell to get its hands on vital foreign currency. Ukraine produces as much as half the world’s sunflower seeds, a tenth of its wheat and up to a fifth of barley and rapeseed.
   As well as a huge diplomatic effort, rescuing Ukraine’s grain also represents a vexing logistical challenge. Given the vast quantities involved, the majority of Ukrainian grain has always been transported by sea rather than road or rail.
   Turkey – which has the authority over sea traffic entering and leaving the Black Sea – is thought to be leading conversations with Russia about proposals to allow grain ships from Ukraine through a naval corridor to the Bosphorus.
   However, several problems need to be solved to ensure the safe transport of Ukrainian crops, beyond international agreements, from ship and crew capacity to the availability of insurance.
   When Russia launched its full invasion of Ukraine, it blockaded the country’s Black Sea ports including Odesa, preventing any ships from leaving or entering harbours. In addition, the surrounding waters have been filled with floating mines. De-mining the waters would be required for any kind of grain corridor.
   Then there is the challenge of finding the armada of vessels to transport the grain. Agricultural goods are moved between continents in bulk cargo vessels, which can hold as much as 50,000 tonnes, poured into several large compartments in the ship’s hold.
   If an estimated 20m tonnes of grain were to be transported, as many as 400 suitable ships would be required.

26. Jake Tapper  last night on Colbert brought up the way they cover mass killing.  He said he had been thinking about it a lot lately.  That is some yellow police tape , and  cops  milling around.  No bodies . no blood. 
    Modern coverage is all “G” rated .  No hint of just  what these events really look like.  I mean they had to use DNA to Identify  some of those kids .
    I later thought of that little Vietnamese  girl running down that dirt road after a napalm bomb  burnt all the clothes  off her body. 
    American eyeballs saw that image. And it moved people to act.
    It’s like our great myth of the West as seen on  TV .  Bart Maverick  shoots  two guys in an episode , and rides outa town in the third act. 
    Not a drop of blood , hell not even a bullet hole in a vest. 
    Guns solved problems, and they did it very neatly, thank-you  very much.
    That is why when Sam Pickinpah made the “Wild Bunch”  there was this great stink.  He was attacked for, ( Get this )   glorifying violence .  When in fact he was trying to show it’s true nature. 
     
    There is a very telling  part at the very top of the movie , when William Holden  leads  Ben Johnson, Warren Oars, and the others into the town. 
    They pass a group little kids taking great delight in burning red ants alive. 
    That is one of the best scenes  Sam ever shot  It says so much about what’s coming, and so much about who we are.

29. One other movie  review –
    I saw “Sink the Bismarck”  yesterday morning.  At 5:30 AM. 
    I saw it first at the : Golden Horseshoe Drive-In  on it’s second  run. 
    Kenneth More, and Dana Wynter  in the leads in B/W  with really pretty  good F/X  for the time. 
    Dana was the most perfect woman I had ever seen in a movie , let alone one  about chasing  a Nazi  battle ship around the North Atlantic. 
    The movie  still  holds up.  England stands alone in May of 1940 . The U-boats  are shooting the  hell  out of the lend lease .
    Bismarck  sails into the North Atlantic thru  the Denmark Straight , there it meets the Hood , and sinks her  with just a few rounds.  The biggest  ship England has ever built.  Six men live  out of over 2,000  on board. 
     
    Ken and Dana soldier  on in the Bowels  of London with the stiffest  of upper lips. 
    And no  Johnny  Horton did write the sound track. 
    As history goes  it tracks  close  the facts.

    Thanks for that post.  I saw that their numbers  were up by 35%  this  year.  The climate  theory is  bullshit , in part.
