  1. The founder of the Oath Keepers and several associates were convicted on charges related to planning the Jan 6th insurrection, and the Respect For Marriage Act passed the Senate with bipartisan support.

  2. Olbermann says:

Three weeks ago – so quietly it has barely been noticed – the government declassified the 31-page “memorandum for the record” of the 9/11 Commission’s 2004 interview with President George W. Bush (2:20) In it, Bush’s words are beyond damning – they are confessional. They confirm his dereliction of duty, his culpability, his malfeasance, in the months before 9/11. Bush lied (5:38) about the August 6 President’s Daily Briefing (6:58) Bush lied about the only threats being “overseas” (7:53) Bush lied about Al-Qaeda cells in the U.S. (8:23) Bush lied about aircraft as missiles (8:57) Bush lied about being warned about domestic threats (9:30) Bush lied about George Tenet never warning him (10:00) Bush lied about never being told how Al-Qaeda would attack (14:28) Sadly the 9/11 Commissioners never asked Bush about the allegation that he rushed through the August 6 2001 PDB because he wanted to go fishing and told the briefer “All right, you’ve covered your ass now.” That’s unfortunate because ALL Bush did in his interview with the Commissioners was try to cover HIS ass. For more than 20 years he’s succeeded, but after the declassification of this memorandum, history will conclude two things: Osama Bin Laden attacked America – no one else. And George W. Bush made sure that America was unprepared – no one else.

  3. so is this what happened to the grand ol’ party?

Why this mammal eats its own brain — and why it could matter for you – The Washington Post

… the animal eats away at its own brain, reducing the organ by as much as a fourth, only to regrow much of brain matter…

[later maybe when he-who-shall-not-be-named is safely in a prison isolation cell unable to communicate to outside world or when the old greybeards in critterville are no longer around or when the Koch bros and federalist society bite the dust?]

  4. The story about Bush and 9/11 is terrible  — all that “blood and treasure” for nothig.
    Nice work goopers

    Thanks Sturg and Keef

“Texas counties have increasingly adopted largely symbolic resolutions, declaring themselves, for example, “sanctuaries” for the unborn or for the Second Amendment. The disaster resolutions stand apart, however, because if worded correctly, they could open the county to new funding from the state.”

“More than 500 miles separate Hopkins County from the Texas-Mexico border. The distance did not stop the county commissioners from declaring a “local state of disaster” caused by an “invasion” of immigrants.”

“That declaration helped Abbott funnel billions of dollars into his border initiative, Operation Lone Star.”

    https://www.npr.org/2022/03/28/1089310979/operation-lone-star-touts-big-numbers-but-are-they-real

“GREG ABBOTT: Operation Lone Star has apprehended more than 200,000 illegal immigrants. That includes more than 9,000 felony charges and more than 11,000 criminal arrests.”

“KRIEL: What we found during our investigation was that their claims of success has been based on shifting metrics that included crimes with no connection to the border, work conducted by troopers stationed there prior to the operation and arrests and drug seizures that don’t clearly distinguish the state’s role from other agencies….And of that number, the felonies that he is citing – many of those crimes occurred hundreds of miles from the border and have no connection to the border or illegal immigration. The crime that does have a tie to illegal immigration is prosecuting migrants for trespassing across private ranches. It’s a misdemeanor. And that misdemeanor makes up about 40% of the operation since July.”

Texas has spent billions of dollars on border security. But what taxpayers got in return is a mystery.

  6. I wonder if fake historian Jon Meachem will add a chapter to his asskissing book about George
He certainly should never be allowed to call himself a historian.

And, traitors in Congress…and far too close to being POTUS.

“It is imperative that all information collected be preserved not just for institutional prerogatives but for transparency to the American people,” wrote McCarthy, who did not comply with a subpoena to appear before the committee. “The American people have a right to know that the allegations you have made are supported by the facts.”

“Democratic Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson, chairman of the House select committee, told reporters Wednesday that he had not seen the California Republican’s letter to the committee, but that the panel planned to preserve everything. He added that McCarthy “had a chance to have members on the committee, he had a chance to come and testify before the committee, so, I think the horse has left the barn.”

“The House GOP is planning to release its own report on the topic when the select committee releases its final report before the end of this year.”

“Top House Republicans would much rather put January 6 in the rear view mirror, but McCarthy needs to win over hardline critics and keep former President Donald Trump happy if he wants to become speaker – and that group is eager to undermine the committee’s investigation, which has painted a damning portrait of Trump and his allies.”

  8. I want to hear from Condiliar on the truth about Shrub and the Iraq war.  I think every famiy that lost someone should sue him personally

  9. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/01/politics/joel-greenberg-sentencing/index.html

“Convicted fraudster Joel Greenberg, who cooperated extensively with prosecutors investigating GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, was sentenced on Thursday to 11 years in prison by a federal judge in Orlando, Florida.”

“After the sentencing, Greenberg’s attorney Fritz Scheller said he was “disappointed” that the Justice Department hasn’t charged anyone else as part of the sex-trafficking investigation. Scheller previously said in court that Greenberg gave investigators information about seven or eight other men as it pertains to the illegal sexual contact with a minor.”

  10. Has anyone else noticed that Mr. West, nee ye, is not the color of Naziis?  That most of the SS would have left him in a ditch.  Just because the guy spouts about nasty horrible people being good, does not mean that he would be accepted.  Sometimes you have to wonder if he had been licking the wrong frog.

  11. I cannot believe how angry I am about the liar Bush being revealed  Plus why hasn’t there been more coverage?  I do not understand this at all.

  12. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/01/tech/kanye-parler-deal-termination/index.html

“.. West will no longer be acquiring Parler, the alternative social media platform favored by conservatives including some far-right extremists…”

“In a statement, Parler’s parent, Parlement Technologies, said it “has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale of Parler. This decision was made in the interest of both parties in mid-November.”

“And earlier this week, Ye claimed on a right-wing podcast that the Internal Revenue Service has frozen several of his accounts over an unpaid tax bill worth $50 million.”

    Well, they buried the lead.

  13. BB – I wondered the same thing about Ye’s friend, a guy with the last name Fuentes. Why are they carrying hateful water for those that wouldn’t give them a sip to save their lives?
