GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — Chris Christie called Donald Trump “self-consumed” and “self-serving.” He mocked the former president’s voice. And he said unequivocally that his mission is to “take out” Trump.
Over two hours at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, where the Republican former New Jersey governor launched his presidential campaign on Tuesday, Christie cast his candidacy as an almost singular effort to undercut a politician he likened to Voldemort.
[…]
Christie …. “If you are in search of the perfect candidate, it is time to leave. I am not it.”
“I’ve lost. You people did that to me in 2016. And I have two of my children here tonight who remind me of that all the time,” Christie quipped.
“But beware of the leader who won’t admit any of those shortcomings, because you know what the problem is with a leader like that? A leader like that thinks America’s greatness resides in the mirror he’s looking at,” Christie said. “We can’t dismiss the question of character anymore. If we do, we get what we deserve.”

DES MOINES — Mike Pence on Wednesday kicked off his campaign for president, officially beginning an extraordinary competition against his former boss, Donald Trump, more than two years after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol upended their relationship.
“Today our party and our country need a leader that will appeal, as Lincoln said, to the better angels of our nature,” Pence said in a video announcement that touted his work as vice president but did not mention Trump. “My family and I have been blessed beyond measure with opportunities to serve this nation, and it would be easy to stay on the sidelines. But that’s not how I was raised. That’s why today, before God and my family, I am announcing I am running for president of the United States.”

Watching Christie last night, must say I never thought I’d see him as a reasonable man. Everything is relative. It’s even possible to be nostalgic for George W. Bush these days.
If this means Meadows flipped it is truly game over for Pumpkin Head. Mark not only knows where the bodies are buried, he buried some of them (or stuffed them into his fireplace).
New York Times: Mark Meadows Testified to Grand Jury in Special Counsel Investigation of Trump
craig, yeah particularly profound and reasonable when he spoke of the former loser guy like this:
“A lonely, self-consumed, self-serving mirror hog is not a leader.”
“Let me be clear in case I have not been already. The person I am talking about, who’s obsessed with the mirror, who never admits a mistake, who never admits a fault, who always finds someone else and something else to blame for whatever goes wrong but finds every reason to take credit for anything that goes right is Donald Trump.”
“He’s only in it for himself.”
Golf is dead to me.
I’m content for now to listen all day to Chris Christie bashing Donald Trump. Also known as telling the truth about him. Everyone should be doing that. It shouldn’t be that hard or unusual.
Hubs has been a golfer and a golf-watcher since he was eight years old. He aghast at yesterday’s demonstration of pure greed and utter hypocrisy. But he’ll keep playing and likely keep watching. As the saying goes, life’s a game, golf is serious.
Another one bites the dust – Licht out at CNN. Add, him to the faux snooze house cleaning, Todd the repub out at wherever he was, and probably a few more. Considering how ratings were for mid-terms, and how the media cheering for “bothsidesism” and “the Dems do it too”, along with more blatant lies, has not been the golden age redeux. Although owned by about three hard right owners, the mass media seems to be looking less like a powerhouse in naming winners than just yacking to draw clicks.
Are we seeing a major reset of the video media? I think so. Faux has done some big cleaning, but that has been on going for years due to other issues. CNN cleaned house and is paying for it, will there be a return to CNN or a faux lite? MSNBC has gone republican during the last five or so years, will they reverse course and return to the liberal world? What about the little russian channels, may they rot in hell. CBS and ABC do not have the cable presence, and maybe they do not need it, the costs can be high if they stray. Also cable is going down, but never count it out if they can figure out how to do streaming at a price lower than the individual streaming channels.
“Republican Rep. George Santos of New York, who was indicted on charges of wire fraud and money laundering, has lost his effort to keep the public from learning the names of the people who co-signed his $500,000 bond, according to court records.”
Goody!
A-golfing we will go……🎶
What’s happening to Europe’s breadbasket, Ukraine, with the ongoing war and now the dam that has been destroyed? Where is that brave person with access to Poo-tin who can wrap up this horror show?
Maybe someone with a soul needs to start a new golf organization…or better yet, no more televised golf.
Any company who sponsors it, any network that airs it, will now be complicit it some really horrible stuff.
To all the PGA rat-finks:
To quote Johnny Carson, speaking to Ed: “You must think you have ALL the money you’re ever gonna need……”
Golf died for me as a participant when it started taking me days to get past the shoulder pain I’d experience after a round, and that was back when Tiger, Phil and the golfers of that era (what 10-15 years ago) were chasing majors. I hated the LIV greed scramble the last couple of years – the fact that it was (is) a Saudi enterprise didn’t help -and I wouldn’t even bother to look for it on the tube to lull me into a Sunday afternoon nap. The PGA died for me yesterday, but who knows whether something decent will result? Could happen I guess, but I don’t see what it could be. LP follows golf and he’ll keep me updated. He’s a huge fan of about a handful of the LIV defectors who were up and comers on the PGA tour before they jumped ship, and he thinks it’s a chickenshit move by the PGA.
And I get a laugh from time to time from Christie, but if he’ s in it to be a thorn in Dumbass’ side, I say go for it.
You can only get MSNBC, CNN, and FOX streaming by subscribing to packages that cost a minimum of $70+ a month.
If someone put together an all news streamer for less, it could probably attract a large subscriber base.
Perfectly put…

New Trump ad calls his critics “Rabid Wolves”
BiD, television is what drives sponsorship of professional golf and sponsorship would be critical for an upstart golf organization. Without TV exposure of their brands on the bags of pros and the commercials Ping, Titleist, Callaway, Nike and the rest have little incentive to sponsor golfers or events.
Speaking of Ping…
Yes, I know. I’m just saying that all of those companies/networks are complicit in supporting Saudis and their atrocities.
“An organization representing families of 9/11 victims ripped the PGA Tour’s decision Tuesday to merge with Saudi-funded LIV Golf, describing the Tour and its commissioner, Jay Monahan, as hypocrites who have become “paid Saudi shills.”
“PGA Tour leaders should be ashamed of their hypocrisy and greed. Our entire 9/11 community has been betrayed by Commissioner Monahan and the PGA as it appears their concern for our loved ones was merely window-dressing in their quest for money – it was never to honor the great game of golf.”
“The 9/11 families group has pointed to LIV as a blatant example of sportswashing – an attempt by the Saudis to use golf to deflect attention from their wide-ranging record of human rights abuses, including the government’s involvement in the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018. Strada has also repeatedly cited Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks, including that Osama Bin Laden and 15 of the 19 hijackers involved in the attacks were Saudi citizens.”
“The President’s declassification order uncovered new evidence – which was not available to the 9/11 Commission – that officials in the Saudi government provided material and financial support for a U.S.-based network of assistance that the hijackers relied upon in order to carry out the murder of nearly 3,000 Americans on U.S soil,” she wrote to Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley earlier this year, in a letter urging the course to exclude LIV golfers from the Masters.”
“Now the PGA and Monahan appear to have become just more paid Saudi shills,” she said, “taking billions of dollars to cleanse the Saudi reputation so that Americans and the world will forget how the Kingdom spent their billions of dollars before 9/11 to fund terrorism, spread their vitriolic hatred of Americans, and finance al Qaeda and the murder of our loved ones.”
Maybe they should sell
Caddies For al Qaeda tee-shirts.
“One of the big winners of the just-announced LIV Golf-PGA Tour merger could be former president Donald J. Trump.”
“Trump has established significant financial ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the LIV Golf tour — financed by the country’s sovereign wealth fund — has staged several events at Trump-owned golf courses over its two seasons of existence.”
Another reason to boycott televised or in-person golf tournaments. Just go golfing, go to a driving range, or putt around your yard.
BiD, hopefully all those golf courses of his will soon belong to the government and will become public rather than private/exclusive venues just for the rich and corrupt oligarchy.
wishful thinking on my part that someone can land a RICO conviction on him and confiscate all his property.
i can envision his palatial homes under karmic gov’t control: mar a lago turned into a school teaching ESL to immigrants from all those places he called s**thole countries, bedminster will be a trauma center to treat victims of sexual assault and t-tower used to house the homeless.
Golfers without any sense of societal responsibility? Who could have predicted 😜
“It’s even possible to be nostalgic for George W. Bush these days.“
Yeah, i miss that war he started for no good reason against people that weren’t involved in 9/11
“…band of 10 rebels took down the GOP leadership’s push to move on two bills this week, an extraordinary move they said was retaliation for McCarthy’s deal with President Joe Biden to suspend the national debt limit.”
“…the protest also indicated that the members have not yet decided on whether to call for a vote ousting McCarthy from the speakership, something that would rip apart the House GOP and send the chamber into chaos.”
“For now, the conservatives have settled on a strategy to scramble McCarthy’s legislative agenda until they believe he will listen to their list of demands.”
“Republican leadership was not given a heads-up about the floor revolt, according to GOP sources. Leaders scrambled to resolve the issue on the floor and were seen in animated conversations with the holdouts for nearly an hour. But the vote ultimately failed and leadership was forced to recess the House chamber, leaving the GOP’s legislative agenda in limbo.”
“…Clyde publicly said a member of leadership threatened him with retaliation, which is one of the big reasons why a band of hardliners tanked Tuesday’s rule, leading to animated discussions on the floor between Scalise, hardliners and other members of leadership.”
“Hardball floor tactics have long been a staple of the House Freedom Caucus, who said they have other tricks up their sleeve to hold McCarthy’s feet to the fire.”
Bush gave me that reecession at a time I shoulda been working my ass off. Not likely I’ll ever dredge up any nostalgia for that little prancing s-o-b pipsqueak cheerleader. So the current asshole is even worse…..that lessens not the former pain. And it’s not as if he vapidly blundered into it–It’s what those bastards set out to do. Great Idea! Cut taxes for the Rich! Ha ha…….Surplus? What Surplus??
Not to mention their greedy little war.
Leftover Viet Nam guys, the lot of ’em,
The GQP keeps finding things by which to be outraged, outraged-I-say!
Rainbow gear at Target, books that were required reading when they went to school, Mickey Mouse, drag shows for pre-K which are not happening, the also non-existent war on Christmas.
All of these things are meant to keep the masses preoccupied and warring with each other, which makes it much easier to forget that the wealthy who got those tasty tax cuts will keep them in power.
Smoke and mirrors, folks. They know it’s all fried baloney.
Finally saw a clip of Christie……….Whine Machine, he’s as good as out. One good picture of him hogging the beach oughta do it.
There be a lot of talk out there in the intertubes about Mark Meadows taking a plea with qualified immunity to discuss what sfb had been doing so there be an indictment of the orange moron. Espionage, sedition, and maybe some other stuff tossed in for laughs. With the date of dropping the hammer of 8JUN23 – 080623 – 060823 – nothing cute in any of those. Time to dig out the air horns and fire up the compressor.
Word on the street is that Meadows is a Rat
Maybe a rat, but a lot more fun than John Dean. I do like to be on John Dean’s social links. He does have some interesting views of being a rat in the Nixon era. But John has in a different era.
“The grift from this family is breathtaking,” Christie said, according to a video of his campaign stop shared by Axios reporter Alex Thompson.
“Jared Kushner and Ivanka Kushner walk out of the White House and months later get $2 billion from the Saudis. $2 billion from the Saudis,” he continued. “You think it’s because he’s some kind of investing genius? Or do you think it’s because he was sitting next to the President of the United States for four years doing favors for the Saudis?”
“2004: Christie, then serving as US attorney in New Jersey, investigated and successfully prosecuted Jared’s father, Charles Kushner, who pleaded guilty to “16 counts of assisting in the filing of false tax returns, one count of retaliating against a cooperating witness and one count of making false statements to the Federal Election Commission,” per the DOJ.
“A defeated Trump pardoned Charles Kushner two months later, on December 23, 2020.”
He may be a “whiner,” but there’s a lot to whine about, to be fair. And, if Christie’s run can help to undercut Orange Adolf and any of his spawn who may think about running in the future, whine away, dude.
Hm, an affordable-housing shortage and an office-space surplus with declining value, hm, what to do, what to do… 🤔
