  1. Great catch patd. And I like the playing on the superstition angle.

“I think it’s a disgrace what’s happening in our country,” President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves, and much worse than that.”

I agree wuth SFB, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the memo. The first three names that come to mind are SFB, Nunes and Ryan. But shame isn’t something they know.

  2. interesting observations in today’s guardian:
The president is trying “to torch institutions that pose a threat,” said Benjamin Wittes, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution thinktank in Washington and editor-in-chief of the Lawfare blog. “I don’t think there’s any gentle way to say that.”

But Andrew Wright, a former White House associate counsel and a professor at Savannah Law School, warned that by seeking to influence or discredit investigators, Trump was only deepening his predicament.

Obstruction of justice in the political sense, where Trump is mired now, it’s like quicksand – you can’t better your own situation by thrashing around. The only thing you can do is be still and wait for someone else to bail you out. The problem for the president is he keeps thrashing around, and he keeps sinking further into the mire and muck.

As the circle of sniping and retaliation becomes more tightly wound, close observers of Washington have warned, the risk grows that something major, finally, will break – whether that means the balance of power in government, or Trump’s backbone of support in Congress and across the country.

  3. Patd

The folks on Twitter are playing #YoMemoJokes.  I’m sure you can come up with some good ones:

Yo Memo is so bad, ever garbage trucks reject it.

Yo Memo is so lacking in substance, it is named Ivanka

Yo Memo is so fake, Kelly Ann found it in her microwave

Yo Memo is so pointless, it is taking Omarosa’s old job

Yo Memo is so meaningless Trump thought it was a marriage vow.

  4. I am so pleased. By statute, the DIA and the AFIS and the other military intelligence services are prohibited from engaging in domestic intelligence activities. Same with the CIA. Domestic counterintelligence is the business of the FBI which can use info developed by the other services overseas in their activities. The military services also have counterintelligence activities that protect military activities worldwide from ‘intruders’. The all inclusive we are not involved.

  5. Well, my edgyness was not indictments, just something I ate.  I believe the phrase is “this too will pass”.

They, greedy old perverts, could have saved the time and expense of writing a “memo” and just used their crayons and some kraft paper to scribble a note, “Deer SFB.  The Fbeye insulated me. Maak hem go awa”  That is all SFB wants is something to say is an excuse to fire the FBI and DOJ.  As for what will happen after he does do the stupid is probably not going to be nice to him.  Money laundering at the least, possibly treason?  The intelligence on SFB is probably very deep and not easy for him to delete.

Joined a gym.  Amazing are the inventions to make one hurt.  Back when I used a gym, a very long time ago now, you had a weight bench and showers.  Now there are bikes, walky things, weights that only go up and down when you pull a bar, strange contraptions that you sit in and pretend you are driving a Bobcat (not rally driving because the handle is one piece, not the handles to make the tracks go), just so much more than a bench. Oh there was one of those and I pointed out that I used to have one like it. But there were no bars and weights to go with it.  Today I need to purchase gym clothes and shoes as they will not allow one to use the contraptions in street clothes.  I suppose a gym bag will be needed too.

  6. Jamie, thanks …. sounds like a fun link.  really really like the Yo Memo is so meaningless Trump thought it was a marriage vow.

  7. hope y’all have time to watch that maher monologue…. had too many oneliners to quote here for those who rather read than watch him.

  8. one line of maher’s, however, deserves special notice. it’s when he talks about them calling the fbi bias (starting at 2:08 referring to law enforcement fighting crime and “trump crime family commits crimes”) “it’s like saying the exterminator is biased against the termites”

BTW, if you make use of that, substitute “rats” for “termites” to be more accurate.

  9. wapo:

President claims GOP memo on FBI surveillance ‘totally vindicates “Trump” ’ in Russia probe

President Trump, who pushed for the release of the four-page document that the FBI said is inaccurate, continued his criticism of the special counsel’s investigation. On Twitter, he said: There “was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!”

  10. I read somwhere on this here internets that yesterday on MSNBC Republican strategist Rick Wilson told Katy Tur that the memo “came off like a fart in a hurricane.”

    BlueB….  your 8:46…   ROFL!

  11. So Mel and Don are on the outs.  I wonder what they gave Stormy to retract her story.   It also doesn’t seemed to have worked.   Perhaps she will be a 1/2 term first lady

  12. Trying to keep my mind on other things than the destruction of the nation

Today in 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson, known as the Big Bopper — were killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa. The event later became known as “The Day the Music Died”, after Don McLean referred to it as such in his song American Pie in 1971.

  13. Patd – great note.  Reminds me of some of the death threats I got while running for office.  A lot of work went into cutting and pasting.  Too bad they were sent to the campaign post office box.  The one under my windshield got me going though.

Spent an hour at Dick’s Sporting goods.  They are having a big sale today.  I now know my real size and they are not on the petite rack.  Picked up a few nice T’s and shorts.  Sigh, now I need to work off about twenty pounds to fit the “real size” things I bought.  All I want are baggy shorts and a three X T shirt.  Not in this day and age.

Chicken soup is on the menu.  It is always a treat.  Although I do not want to endorse any commercial enterprises on here, I have found there is a huge black hole for free diet, exercise and general menu planning.  I am using myfitnesspal.com and putting up with a few Under Armour emails a week for the free app.

  14. BiD – I got the scare of my life just before the December holidays.  I was in an office a few floors above mine and came across someone I thought had left the agency.  No. He had a heart attack and was out a couple of months, he is in his early forties.  He was sitting there with an avocado a few carrots and other vegetables.  We talked and I can say I have been on the straight and narrow diet wise since that day.  My problems are that my entire body is in bad condition.  I took a lot of “hits” for a few years.  Now I need PT to get different things stretched out and moving. I have difficulty walking due to bad knees and a couple of spinal cord damages. No need to cover why I am “service connected” for my VA medical care.

But, I am determined to drop a lot of weight.  There is only one way to do that.  Exercise and diet. I have diet in control, the next is calorie burning.  Lots of it.

  15. I’m about 80 pounds less than my max and 15-lbs less than when I retired in ’83. For people looking for gently used clothing, nothing wrong with checking the Goodwill. Kumcho and I regularly stopped by military thrift shops. She would look for adult clothing in her really small size, and I would find antiques and antiquities from faraway lands. Fun!

  16. Local news just aired a story about zombie campaigns and the weasely former-politicians that use those funds…including Ron Paul.

  17. Flatus – the gym person and I discussed what to do with Gale.  She is trained to lie down near me, it is the issues of the machines being close together that presents an issue is there are others working out at the same time.
