  1. question for the political universe: why is it okay to push for sending F-16/18s to Netanyahu to bomb the hell out of their current invaders yet not okay to send them to Zelenskyy?

the risk of nuclear war (whether it’s iran or russia) is the same. so are the atrocities inflicted by the invaders (hostage taking of children, rape of women altho multible times more by putin than hamas).

  2. in keeping with the sentiments of today, a more somber stephen

The former president didn’t hesitate to share America’s classified military secrets with an Australian national who joined his private club, and MyPillow founder Mike Lindell’s finances are in shambles after years of peddling lies about the 2020 election

  3. All i will say is that if ever find myself apologizing for or justifying the indiscriminate murder, rape, and kidnapping of innocent women, children, and elderly people, i’ll know i have lost my way

“The revelation that an influential conservative PAC leader hosted a white supremacist at his office last week unleashed extraordinary criticism and infighting among Texas Republicans on Monday, calls by the House speaker and a majority of his caucus to return political donations, and a defiant demand from the lieutenant governor that the speaker resign.”

“The recriminations further exposed the intensifying civil war within the Texas GOP and almost entirely overshadowed the first day of a special session called by Gov. Greg Abbott to give parents vouchers to send their children to private school. By day’s end, the only thing Texas Republicans appeared to agree on was to condemn antisemitism as well as the militant group Hamas’ deadly assault on Israel on Saturday.”

Abbott stepping up security on Jewish temples, but white nationalist nuts will probably go after mosques and Islamic centers and anything else without a cross on it. ps – This news gives cover to Abbott essentially trying to defund public schools with his voucher program.

“Beware: we ignore Robert F Kennedy Jr’s candidacy at our peril”

“…a public discourse filled with unsayable and unspeakable subjects is fertile territory for all manner of hucksters positioning themselves as uniquely courageous truth tellers. RFK Jr now leads the pack.”

“What are the reasons his campaign is resonating with a consequential slice of US voters? (And voters beyond the US, where he has a large following?) What pain, silence and rage is he tapping into? What important truths and realities is he concealing and eliding? And, given the near impossible odds of him winning the race which he is currently running in, what is his real end-game?”

This is an old article, but now that he’s left the Democratic Party, he’s even more of a threat.

  6. https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-israel-intel-russia-hamas-attack-1833094

“In May 2017, the former president defended his actions after he was found to have discussed sensitive details about an alleged Islamic State (ISIS) plot with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the Oval Office. Trump said he had an absolute right to do so. The intel was said to have been provided to the U.S. from Israel.”

“Thom Hartmann, author and political commentator, posted on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing a 2017 article from The Washington Post: “Hamas apparently knew how to get around Israel’s Iron Dome defenses. They probably learned this from Iran. Iran almost certainly got the information from Russia. And who gave it to Russia? Sure looks like it was Donald Trump, at the request of Putin.”

“Allison Gill, who tweets using the account for the Mueller, She Wrote podcast, added: “Don’t forget: Trump gave Israeli intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office 6 years ago. Putin armed Iran in exchange for drones to attack Ukraine.”

“This isn’t hard to follow,” added musician and author Mikel Jollett. “Trump gave military intel to the Russians. The Russians, who are extremely close allies with Iran, gave it to Iran. Iran gave that information to Hamas. Hamas used it to attack Israel. This is why intel security matters. Republicans DO NOT CARE.”

“Though there is no consensus over how Kennedy’s campaign would affect Trump’s prospects, Republicans allied with the former president have nonetheless been building opposition research against the longtime Democrat, intending to go on the offensive and paint Kennedy as a “liberal parading in conservative’s clothing,” one adviser told CNN, pointing to his past record as an environmental activist.”

“Others believe Kennedy’s pull with voters who “hate the system,” as one person close to the former president characterized it, could ultimately pose a significant problem for Trump, who typically dominates that bloc.”

“Another conceded that Kennedy could be a real threat to Trump, particularly when it comes to vaccines.”

“In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, Trump defended the creation of the vaccine, saying he was “not proud of it” and insisting he never “gave mandates.”

“If you’re a single-issue voter on Ukraine, you now have two options instead of one. His views on vaccines are also a big pull to those kind of voters,” another adviser said. “Those are people that like are less likely to tell pollsters that they’re for Trump. They’re less likely to answer the phone for pollsters.”

“…Ralph Nader, the celebrated activist and former Green presidential nominee, spoke publicly about his support for Biden.

“Fascism is what the GOP is the architecture of, and autocracy is what the Democrats are practitioners of,” Nader told The Washington Post. “But autocracy leaves an opening. They don’t suppress votes. They don’t suppress free speech. Given the choice, Nader said, “I’ll take autocracy any time.”

  8. There is talk, on various platforms, about the distinct possibility sfb had a lot of highly classified material on Iran and Israel. It is also becoming more frequent. High enough in classification that they would never be seen in a courtroom, in other words no trial. A few are outright stating the orange moron did the dirty deed.  The rest is not pretty.

  9. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/10/politics/steve-garvey-california-senate/index.html

“Former baseball star Steve Garvey is entering the US Senate race in California, hoping to become the first Republican elected to the chamber from the state since 1988.”

“Garvey is the latest entrant into a crowded field vying for the seat previously held by the late Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who died in late September.”

“Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff, Barbara Lee and Katie Porter are already running for the seat, as is Democrat Lexi Reese, a former tech executive. Republican attorney Eric Early, who ran unsuccessfully for state attorney general last year, is also in the race.”

  10. BB – Yeah, we know it’s not a result of the recent unfreezing of funds to Iran, as Repugz claim.   This has been in the works for awhile, and tRUMPsky giving intel to Lavrov is a more likely culprit.  And that’s just the info we know about him giving, because he bragged about it and said he had every right to do it.

  11. word is that Netanyahu WAS warned about the new war in advance, both by Israeli intelligence and Egyptian intelligence—and didn’t believe it—so much didn’t believe it that he pulled troops OUT of Gaza and transferred them to the west bank.

  12. It sounds like Bibi had an unfortunate bout of W syndrome.   How do we now have video of Hamas training?   So, there were watchdogs and warnings and now there’s a war that will last well into next year.

  13. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/former-osu-wrestlers-say-jim-jordan-betrayed-shouldnt-house-speaker-rcna119116

“Four of the former Ohio State University wrestlers who have accused Rep. Jim Jordan of failing to protect them from a sexual predator when he was the team’s assistant coach in the 1980s and ’90s said Tuesday he has no business being the next speaker of the House.”

“Do you really want a guy in that job who chose not to stand up for his guys?” said former OSU wrestler Mike Schyck, one of the hundreds of former athletes and students who say they were sexually abused by school doctor Richard Strauss and have sued the university. “Is that the kind of character trait you want for a House speaker?”

Also, Gym, we don’t want a traitor who tried to help overthrow the government as SOTH. Really, shouldn’t he be charged with something for his part in January 6th?

  14. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/10/10/trump-classified-documents-motive/

“Jack Smith’s lawyers assured they’re ready to go and that such a delay isn’t necessary, unsurprisingly. But they also said they are ready to prove something significant that, to this point, has remained shrouded and the subject of much speculation: why Trump allegedly took and kept the documents.”

“It then added that “what is in dispute is how that occurred, why it occurred, what Trump knew, and what Trump intended in retaining them — all issues that the Government will prove at trial primarily with unclassified evidence.”

“The government apparently thinks it knows “what Trump intended” with the documents. And it’s signaling that it plans to prove that intent.”

    Good.

  15. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/10/politics/kari-lake-senate-arizona/index.html

“Kari Lake, an ally of former President Donald Trump and one of the Republican Party’s most prominent election deniers, on Tuesday launched her 2024 bid for Senate from Arizona.”

“Lake is vying for the seat held by independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who shed her Democratic Party affiliation in December and has not yet said whether she will seek a second term. Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego is also a candidate in what could become an unpredictable, three-way race.”

  16. I’m not normally a big supporter of Israel. I think we’ve been played to some extent, and in order to not appear to be antisemitic, our government has kowtowed to requests from Israel for insane amounts of support, Bibi has taken Israel on a hard, right turn, and I am not in support of any such hard, right banner flying. All that said, in this particular instance, I certainly support Israel over Hamas and their affiliated terrorist actors in the region. I I heard Goddard described as open air prison today. Probably apt.

  17. This was a pogrom. Like the ones of 19th century Russia that sent our grandparents fleeing. Once I tried to get my husband’s grandmother to tell her story. Suddenly her English failed.

I stand with Israel. I stand against those who stand against Israel.
