Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms! So unfair to those who come in legally.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!
?. WTF? He’s in “throw everything against the wall” mode now. Ten percent middle income tax cut (a good thing if you can pull that off when Congress isn’t in session), California riots about sanctuary cities (riots? They ain’t happening), American jobs through arms sales to SA (there aren’t contracts, the jobs are made up), and of course the caravan… and wait for the Avenatti attack today.
Its worse than I ever believed it could be.
Sadly, my co-worker is for Trump and his wall, because “they need to come here legally like I did.”
When would be a good time for the media to do a fact-checking Trump segment on the news? Now, please.
In fact, if Faux Noise props up Trump and his lies, the other networks should take those Nazi propaganda artists to task, as well. Give them no cover.
The GOP underestimates just how far they have fallen.
They are no longer fiscally conservative; they are the paid servants of the 1%.
They are no longer socially conservative; they are hate-mongers, catering only to rich, white men.
The outcry in Republican campaign ads and deranged tweets from Twit are no more than the party’s death rattle.
the most recent lies and outrageous threats are diversionary tactics – not to fire up his base as one would think, but to make sure dems, demonstrators and media are focused on getting out protestors and casting blame instead of getting out voters.
so true to form, we concentrate on the shiny objects. we run around in circles screaming about them. we don dem hairshirts and beat up on each other’s mistakes. we pay less attention about going to the polls and making sure our colleagues get there too.

patd…. Amen!
BiD, I am seeing plenty of media coverage debunking Trump’s lies. Last night CNN was all over it, led every show. Too bad we did not see that kind of aggression during the 2016 campaign.
back in may, testimony about bannon and his tactics should have alerted us to what they’re still using to win this election. it worked for them in 2016 so why not employ it for 2018:
“voter disengagement tactics” were used to “discourage or demobilize certain types of people from voting”
History Schmistory
Rachel Maddow outlines examples of dirty campaign tricks taking place around the United States ahead of the 2018 election, as well as age-old intimidation tactics from Donald Trump.
If early voting is any indication the push by the repugs and the dotard is working. In all but one state that NBC is following early voting turnout in the repugs are well ahead of dems as far as turnout is concerned. GOTV
Pogo… saw Katy Tur on some program on MSNBC yesterday afternoon… and she said that Republicans tend to show up to the polls more in early voting… while Democrats tend to show up on voting day. If this is true… we’ll all have to wait until returns start coming in on election night.
Will be voting today, with a fairly high degree of confidence that most of my chosen candidates will prevail. They would probably win without my vote as this is a pretty blue area. Wish I was in a position to cast my vote in any one of the close house races and maybe flip a seat.
Either way I will vote early. Sadly I just can’t vote often.?

Guess the NRA just couldn’t figure out the proper scare tactic. This initiative will probably win. Chalk up one for the good guys.
And the Dow continues to fall – 440 points so far this morning. From today’s WaPo:
Yep, bringing manufacturing back – just like mining. The recent drop has wiped out all gains for 2018 – about 2000 points worth or 7.5%. That’s why IMPOTUS is not talking economy at his rallies. 401ks are taking it on the chin.
Renee, I hope you and Katy are correct.

Retired Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor announces she is withdrawing from public life because of dementia
Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who became the first female justice in 1981, announced Tuesday that she suffers from dementia and is “no longer able to participate in public life.”
In a letter released by her family, O’Connor, 88, said she wanted to “be open about these changes, and while I am still able, share some personal thoughts.”
She added: “How fortunate I feel to be an American and to have been presented with the remarkable opportunities available to the citizens of our country. As a young cowgirl from the Arizona desert, I never could have imagined that one day I would become the first woman justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.”

ELECTION 2018: Florida turnout tops 1.1M; early voting doubles in Palm Beach County
With election day still two weeks away, more than 1.1 million Floridians have already cast ballots for the midterm elections — including an explosion of turnout for the first day of in-person early voting in Palm Beach County.
There were 10,696 ballots cast at Palm Beach County’s 14 early voting sites on Monday, according to the county elections office. That’s more than double the 5,315 ballots cast on the first day of early voting before the 2014 midterms.
According to a Tuesday morning report from the Florida Division of Elections, more than 1 million Florida voters have returned mail-in ballots for the Nov. 6 election. Another 113,750 have cast in-person early votes. Florida’s turnout already exceeds the turnout for 16 states and Washington, D.C., for the entire 2016 presidential election.
[…]
Of the 1.1 million ballots cast in Florida so far, 43.6 percent are from registered Republicans and 38.9 percent are from registered Democrats. GOP voters have an advantage in mail ballots while Democrats outnumbered Republicans on the first day of in-person early voting.

Some good advice here. Forget Trump, Just vote
Might be a good time to revisit the book Ship of Fools.
Puerto Rican’s who moved stateside permanently following Maria; young folks registered at/following the Parkland rallies; Republicans who have watched Trump & Yertle corrupt economically-conservative ideals to give handouts to the wealthy…quite a list of possible, new voters to tell Mitch McConnell where he and his Critterz can go & what they can do to themselves.
Craig – I don’t have cable/CNN and have stopped checking them online as weeding through the garbage stories was tiresome.
Or just take a tour of the White House…
Sorry to hear about Justice O’Connor. May not always have agreed with her, but she was and is a classy lady and a credit to the bench. She would have never in a million years embarrassed the court in the manner of some latter justices.
That is sad about Sandra Day OConnor and a little ironic. She left the court to care for her husband who had Alzheimer’s. And then when he had to move to a care facility – he didn’t remember who she was and got himself a girlfriend.
Way back when……in the misty road band times…..any time the movie “Ship of Fools” was coming on the motel tv at the right time we would all gather round and have a ship of fools party to watch it.
Lee Marvin was a hoot.
I miss Lee Marvin. Always enjoyed his movies.
I remember…. way back when… seeing Ship of Fools along with Cat Ballou at the drive-in.
wow that’s a double bill. Cat Ballou was a favorite of mine

Ha! ABC is actually calling Trump on his lies, lie by lie.
1500 miles at maybe 5 miles per day = storming Corpus Christi as we hunker down and eat dried beef chips soaked in P to soften them, down in the hand dug shelter.
I thought a caravan was British for travel trailer.
“There’s no proof of anything. But there could very well be.”
Remember that. ?
trump on whether or not there are Muslim terrorists, red Chinese robots, or green Martians among the ‘caravan’istas :
“There’s no proof of ANYTHING. But there could very well be.”
‘The saudis have ordered a $100 TR!LL!ON from us,

And, in the Marla Ego dining room we’ll be serving the finest cuts of bbq’d Arab journalist.

And for something different.
flatus & sturge, which one of you won the mega-million ticket they sold in SC?
SC is one of several states that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous. Makes sense. All states should allow that for the safety and sanity of the winners.
I don’t normally play, but bought 2 last night. I found a penny on the way into the store, so I’m only out 3.99. I didn’t even match one number.
What would they buy?
Rosie would get a new garage with one of those Mitt Romney elevators.
Sturg would get a fancy camera and a remote-controlled bandsaw.
BiD, the gentleman that they are, they would first buy a round of bubbly for the trail to toast peace good will among all.
.
Can there ever be a quote that better sums up this man?
usatoday:
Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights hero who volunteered with the Freedom Riders and who led the marchers who were attacked by Alabama state troopers on “Bloody Sunday” in 1965, invoked his sacrifices and struggles in an appeal Monday to get people out to vote in the midterm elections.
“I have been beaten, my skull fractured, and arrested more than forty times so that each and every person has the right to register and vote,” Lewis said in a tweet. “Friends of my gave their lives. Do your part. Get out there and vote like you’ve never voted before. #vote #goodtrouble”
The images of peaceful protesters like Lewis being assaulted by angry white mobs and policemen enforcing Jim Crow laws helped bring about the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
“Good trouble” has become something of a catchphrase for Lewis, who stirred up plenty of trouble for a just cause as one of the “Big Six” civil rights leaders, an illustrious group that included Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lewis was one of the keynote speakers at the famous March on Washington in 1963 where King gave his historic “I Have a Dream” speech.
The Georgia Democrat’s plea to get out and vote comes amid a controversy in his state over alleged voter suppression. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, the Republican candidate for governor, has been accused by his Democratic opponent, Stacey Abrams of disproportionately rejecting new voter registration applications from African Americans.
“I think there is a deliberate, systematic effort on the part of people in the state of Georgia to prevent some people from participating in the democratic process,” Lewis told the Orlando Sentinel last week.
“It’s very frustrating to me,” Lewis said. “It’s unreal.”
At a get out the vote rally in North Carolina on Friday, Lewis said that the midterm election is “an opportunity to change America and set our country on the right path,” according to the Fayetteville Observer.
“There are forces in Washington today trying to take us back. We’ve come too far. We’re not going back. We’re going forward,” Lewis said.
🙂
Washington times:
Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci called on President Trump Wednesday to stop lying and to start focusing on policies ahead of the 2018 midterms.
During an interview on CNN’s “New Day,” Mr. Scaramucci acknowledged that the president does lie and called him a scoundrel. He said the president “likes it” because it gets people talking.
After being pressed by host John Breman, Mr. Scaramucci called the president a liar and directed a message specifically to Mr. Trump.
“Nobody should lie, but you’re a politician now and politicians lie when their lips are moving,” he said. “But you should probably dial down the lying because you don’t need to.”
Mr. Scaramucci suggested that Mr. Trump focus on his economic policies because he doesn’t want to have his approval rating “stuck in the mid-40’s” heading into midterms.
Speaking of Lee Marvin and the barbarians at the gate:
Since I’m not seeing any fireworks and high fives, I assume Sturg & Flatus are not the SC winning ticket holder of the Mega Millions drawing.
Sorry to disappoint, I don’t participate in lotteries. That said, the wine stash can take care of the bunch of us and Rosie is resting comfortably in her heated quarters adjoining the laundry room. Her room temperature is 68-deg with a relative humidity of 43-pct. That compares with 52-deg 83-pct outside and 72-deg 42pct inside. She has a rough life. Has anybody heard from Sturg??
Fair to middling baseball game last night. Any team that wins 108 games has got to have excellent pitching, and the Red Sox do. Could be a short series unless the Dodger bats wake up soon. Tonight will be interesting.
More on the lottery. The ticket was sold in a small (20k) community in upstate SC. Although on the interstate, the actual selling point was some distance away from an interchange leading me to think that the purchaser was a local buyer; would it be so.
Scramucci is a shit.
He suggests that if Trump lie just a little less, that he will be a better President. Not so.
The lying has a corrosive effect on all our democratic institutions but the damage has been done and is not reversible by this president. The lying can not cover up the fact that Trump/republican policies are a disaster. To tell the truth would only point this out more clearly.
The vaunted tax cuts for example have not reduced the deficit nor are they likely to. No amount of truth telling will alter that picture. The only alternative for team Trump is to blame the deficit on social programs and suggest cutting or gutting them take your pick.
A democratic house or senate would help stand as a bulwark against the worst of these policies, but I fear that train has already left the station. Even reduced majorities will not slow down the current republican train wreck, and flipping either chamber is becoming less likely by the day.
No lottamus here ………status quo ante……
The use of Debbie Wasserman Schultz address on the bombs makes me think this is the work of Trump
I hope a Dem won.
I think this is an attempt to revisit the Democratic Party “scandal” of the 2016 campaign and depress what’s left of the Democratic turnout that they have left on the rolls
I don’t want to see a bunch of Wasserman-Schultz stories but that is what the stupid ass press will do
Beat LA…again
Drat – no uber wealthy folks from the Mega Millions posting here.
a SEVENTH device appears to have been sent to the Congressional mail facility. 1. Soros 2. Clinton 3. Obama 4. CNN 5. Holder. 6. Cuomo 7. Congressional Mail Facility (possible)
It’s the same guys who rioted at the counting centers in Florida during the Bush -Gore recount
Can’t wait for the SFB’s statement – sounds like the work of Don jr frat boy behavior
re the pipe bombs, pence tweeted “These cowardly actions are despicable & have no place in this Country” and sarah repeated the “despicable” charge.
[hmm, never knew you could spell “deplorable” with so many i’s in it… must be a goper thing]
Nothing like traveling around the D.C. area when hell is breaking loose. This morning I arrived at the train station and thought it odd there were so many police cars parked in the kiss and go lane. Going in a couple of them rousted one of the “regulars” with “you don’t have a ticket. Get out of here”. I get to D.C. Union station and notice many plain clothes types hanging around. Some do the undercover thing real good by eating a lot to appear to be tourists. They are not the ones who will chase anyone. I go outside and there are a lot of police cars towards the Capitol and on the side streets.
Well. I have to leave early, jump on the train and blissfully watch the
countrysidecity pass by. Arriving at the train station there is still a big “presence”. I get in the truck and start driving down the ramps and hear about pipe bombs showing up at CNN and Dems places. What the . . .?For some reason the list of bombs matches SFB favorite shout outs. Coincidence? Hell no!
And now we, D.C. region are going to have to deal with a lot of “presence” for a while. Coast Guard is moving around too.
guess the “caravan is coming” distraction ploy was fading from the limelight and they needed another shiny bauble [aka pipe bombs] for the media.
heaven forbid that they cover what candidates are saying…. might persuade people to go vote.
Now think of what is going on in the infected cavity that is SFB head. The bomber is getting all the headlines. SFB goes out and says it is not nice to mail pipe bombs, and it does not go platinum on the hit parade of the the hour.
Nicole Wallace, MSNBC Republican Lite former Republican now an Indie (not quite ready to go full Dem), just asked any of the jellyfish, no stings, who inhabit the Capitol to call in with a condemnation of the bomber. Apparently the spineless ones can’t even get enough brass in their gonads to match SFB in his little attempt at telling the Nationalists he leads to knock it off.
I am feeling a little bit verbose.
Okay. Back in the day, when Egg McMuffin was new, and I was working ungodly hours (16+ hr/day), I would stop at a McDonalds on the way to work, hoping it would actually open at 5am, and pick up a couple of Egg McMuffins and coffee.
As the years passed I had long moved on from that job and McDonalds. I think I would drop in once a year or so to eat a Big Mac, because I liked the original version. The ones I tried from 1992 to about 2016 tasted as good as the container in came in, foam or cardboard. Deploying with Red Cross gave me the opportunity to try meals that were not in OD brown and labeled MRE. Often the only fast food establishment open would be McDonalds. I have to give them credit for working hard to support their local families, Walmart does the same. Not an endorsement but a fact. So for lunch or dinner, or breakfast at 1900 I would eat a Big Mac. Although not like the original, I do like them still. The same with a Whopper. Junk food is addictive.
During the last few years I stop in at McDonalds for an Egg McMuffin on my way somewhere. Although real dry now, probably someone, somewhere, complained about it being a disease vector for not being cooked to charred to kill any bugs, I do enjoy them. The long story is that McDonalds is adding a double cheese, double sausage to the Egg McMuffin. I do plan on trying one – sometime in the next year or so.
I had no idea what was going on; I had only heard about the George Soros bomb on the news yesterday.
If Trump & the Critterz hold silent, that actually speaks loud & clear.
Rainy, rainy day here.
BB – Put some hash browns in a waffle maker. It’s the best!
BID – oh my. I never thought of doing that. Tomorrow morning!!! I need to do the potatoes tonight, but those babies are . . . I forgot to say I am on a liquid diet. If I can chop or blend it into mush I can eat it.
Been gone all day playing cards with girlfriends… I lost $4… I’m gonna go bankrupt if I keep doing that. But then… I come home and find out the stock market really really doesn’t like the impending trade war. And bombs are showing up in DC. But there’s a second WS game on tonight… life is still good.
Trump did denounce whomever sent the devices, but his ugly rhetoric, and that of the GOP, probably incited the entire thing.
Wouldn’t blending it into mush defeat the purpose of all of the crunchy little squares?
I’m relieved that so far no one has been injured in these bomb attacks.
One more thing…go Dodgers!!! 🙂
3 republicanazi terrorists arrested for inciting violent angry mobs. Apparently, one angry rightwing mobster is still on the lam. This goes along with the mad bomber republicanazi(s) sending bombs to prominent Dems and CNN. trump’s garbage about angry leftwing mobs disturbing rightwing diners is suddenly a joke.

Blue, probably? Gimme a fucking break. Every, EVERY target is on ShitForBrains’s short list of demonized Democrats. I was just watching Chris Matthews and John Fehery was on it saying don’t jump to conclusions. Jesus fucking Christ what the hell is he talking about? What conclusion can you come to other than the fact it is some right wing fucking idiot who’s trying to get prominent left-wing personalities who were identified by name by our so-called “president”? I may have been born at night, but I wasn’t born last night.
And our orange asshole is shuttling off on our nickel to Wisconsin to do more of the same. What the fuck is wrong with this country? What the fuck is wrong with this idiot? I apologize for the profanity, but goddamnit I am pissed.
BTW, go Sox. Step 1 accomplished.
