Right, his lawyers would prefer putting this Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings. In which case would that be a defense? Not the documents case. Not the fraudulent filings case. Not the 1/6 insurrection case. Possibly the GA RICO case, but I’m not sure exactly how it justifies the concerted efforts to have GA officials act in contravention of the facts before them. He had the opportunities to present those irrefutable and overwhelming evidence of election fraud in formal legal filings in 60 cases where it might have made a difference and (because it doesn’t exist) he didn’t. I think his lawyers want to present that report to the round file and hope he shuts the fuck up about it.
I didn’t buy the press conference gambit from the get-go. It’s an old PR trick he once acknowledged learning from Roy Cohn. Get your headlines, then back off.
It’s what Cohn used to do as counsel for the Joe McCarthy hearings. “We’re going to name names on Thursday”, and when Thursday comes, nothing. But they had gotten the headlines that they had names, which is all most people noticed.
Trump often did this with bad news in the 2015 campaign. He’ll clear it all up with proof on Monday. And I lost count how many times he announced he would release his tax returns on a certain date. Didn’t happen, of course, but it left many people thinking he had released them.
Now we’re just left with his assertion that he has a 100-page document proving his innocence, but his lawyers won’t let him release it. Classic Trump.
Trump’s sick and violent nature has been so normalized by his own party we haven’t heard a word about his failure to comment on threats being made lately against judges, prosecutors — and now jurors — in his name. Any other political leader would be denouncing any of their followers for doing this. Just like when he celebrated the Jan. 6 riot and said “maybe he deserves it” when told of threats against Pence, Trump deliberately provokes this stuff, and enjoys it when it works.
Yesterday in an on-camera interview with FOX host Larry Kudlow he was given a chance to call off his threatening supporters but instead he blamed the targets of those threats: “They have no idea how much anger they have caused”. And later went on to complain his party isn’t tough enough: “The Republicans have to be tough. The Republicans are great in many ways but they don’t fight as hard. They have to get a lot tougher.”
He’s a sick bastard.
Since when has he ever “obeyed” his lawyers? They follow his orders, not the other way around. This is a tv show, not a courtroom drama.
By “tough” he means dirty.
There’s no mystery. He’s fomenting armed rebellion.
The only way out from all his problems is the same way out all the folks had from their British debts in 1776.

It’s tempting to say he’s stupid, but you can’t be diabolical and imbecilic at the same time. On the other tiny hand, he operates with reckless abandon and if you call that stupid, he’s dumber than Forrest Gump.
On one hand… I was really looking forward to trump’s shitshow on Monday. But on the other hand… if he incited any violence that would be unacceptable.
But like Craig… I very much doubted he’d actually do it. I agree… he’s a sick bastard… as are his most ardent followers.
Within that skull is a crazed blob of mush that is fired up and shooting stars in an alternate universe. I am more convinced now that he is going to step so far over a line that he will have a babysitter assigned to keep him from electronic devices. And, if he goes far enough, forgetting the mob boss rules of never do it yourself, that he threatens one of the judges or witnesses he could end up in a small room somewhere. Maybe a prison, maybe a place where you go if you are in a state that you could harm yourself or others.
I do think he is stewing in the pressure of the cases current, and perhaps a few more cases added on in the very near future. As he is the real genius and knows more about everything than anyone else I expect him to go heavy into mucking up his future. Hope he does it biggly.

It’s puzzling and maddening to listen to Republicans these days. According to them the indictments are fake, the judges are paid off, the grand juries are comprised of anti-Trump Democrats, the justice department is being weaponized, it’s a witch hunt blah blah blah. What else can we call them but puppets?
If someone were really really smart they’d come up with a term like “RIGGERS” to reach out to the base. If they were really really stupid, however; it would take them 8 years to come up with it.

Power has lulled three times in the last, few minutes, but come back on. We’ve all been asked to conserve power today. One town has scheduled, rolling blackouts today through Sunday, from 5pm to 8pm (the hottest part of the day). Another town is almost out of water. The extreme heat has also caused water main breaks. It’s 107 right now; the high today was 109; the heat index is still 109.
