I want to believe Tweedy since if she is lying (exaggerating?), it would make it harder for other women. At the same time, I’ve seen video clips of her USO “performance” doing a bump and grind with another cast member. USO shows and women are known for being risque & raunchy at times, so again this could be totally innocent. If this does turn out to be a coordinated attack on Franken, the investigation will be more than welcome.

I keep referring to Trump as the GOP’s “Putz With A Pen” as they are keeping him in office just to get legislation promoted & signed no matter how bad it might be. It occurred to me that some folks might not know the term. Trump qualifies on a whole lot of insults from the Joys of Yiddish.

Sturg, during my entire career, I never went to a USO show—they just rubbed me the wrong way. Now, the donut dollies that came to our isolated worksites in Korea were a different story. They were thoroughly nice kids who came around once a month to cheer us GIs up. It worked. We were all on our best behavior when they were with us. I want to think they were sponsored by the Red Cross rather than the USO.

Tweeden, the woman who accused @AlFranken of groping her in a photo has just signed a book deal with the Sinclair Broadcast Group (i.e. Mercer, Bannon, Gorka). Why am I not shocked?

If they can’t, Congress will have to pass another continuing resolution to avert a government-wide shut down.

But those allegations remain very disturbing.”
At least 16 women have come forward alleging misconduct by Trump, ranging from sexual assault to harassment to inappropriate behavior.
Collins made her remarks after Stephanopoulos asked if she expected that the country will now see real change on sexual harassment with the current wave of allegations against prominent men from Hollywood to Washington, D.C.,
The senator responded that one problem is that some of the women making the allegations are getting unfairly attacked.
“The women who bring forth these allegations are often trashed,” Collins said. “They’re attacked. Their credibility is undermined … And that has to stop as well.”
Stephanopoulos brought up President Trump, saying, “More than a dozen women came forward during the campaign; [Trump] says that every single one of them are lying.”

Blonde Wino – sometime in the last few months a deal was worked out to extend the budget deadline to December 22. Although the government shutdown might not happen I am thinking of a short vacation in some place like Florida or the USVI. But, my boss told me I had to be available to return to work immediately if the Congress does fund the government.
But, I am not sure a deal can be worked out by the republicans to make a budget in time. The old normal was it would be worked on all year and then voted on in September. But that no longer exists. The new normal is no budget, just continuing resolutions. I do know some committees have been working on pieces of the budget, but not all of it.
speaking of silencing people, wasn’t it about a year ago that the person, reportedly out of fear, dropped her lawsuit which accused trump of raping her when she was 13? a preliminary deposition of him was scheduled but also got dropped.

Lin-Manuel Miranda to Trump: ‘We still need your help’ in Puerto Rico
Lin-Manuel Miranda wants President Trump to make up for a “lost weekend” delaying disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
The “Hamilton” playwright and actor headlined the Unity March for Puerto Rico in Washington, D.C., on Sunday. Miranda told The Hill in an interview the rally’s core message to Trump is, “we still need your help.”
“The message is that we’re here and Puerto Rico is still — half of the island is still without power — and we still need your help,” Miranda said, directing his message to Trump.
Miranda, whose parents are Puerto Rican, has been sharply critical of the Trump administration’s disaster response.
In the immediate aftermath of Maria, Miranda tweeted that the president was “going straight to hell.”
Miranda said that tweet, and three others that followed, were out of character for his online self.
“I think it made news because normally I’m tweeting about puppies and rainbows and showtunes. That’s most of my Twitter feed, and I’m proud of that. I’m proud to be a corner of the internet where outrage is not the default mode. There’s plenty of things to be outraged about,” he said.
“I’ve never seen a leader in the face of natural disaster say that the victims of a natural disaster weren’t doing enough for themselves. I just, that’s unprecedented to me. So my language in the face of that was also unprecedented for me,” Miranda added.

Regarding Al: Keith Olbermann initially mentioned a possible “purge” of Al, and today he’s tweeted that her “backstory” conflicts with video of the USO sketch.
Upon examination, Tweeden’s story of a forced kiss and lengthy harassment is fraying. Good for Franken to insist upon an investigation and not surrender to the guyotine.
I wondered about her huge horn rim glasses. They almost appear to parody Franken, to trivialize sexual assault, Democrats, decent people, the whole shebang. What a cynical ploy, if true.
Good grief, can we please put the brakes on this sexually charged Reign of Terror? There are traitors to be thrown out of D.C. and into prison!
