  1. and now to ruin the tranquil mood jack set, it’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!

Host Pete Davidson takes a moment to speak on the crisis in the Middle East.
    and

Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week’s biggest news, like Congressman George Santos getting hit with new Federal charges.

  2. https://themessenger.com/politics/lets-talk-about-your-lack-of-job-qualifications-voter-roasts-fast-talking-ramaswamy-at-n-h-town-hall

“Let’s talk about your lack of job qualifications,” the voter said at a Ramaswamy town hall in Exeter. “You’re definitely not qualified to run the highest office of our nation.”

“Just a few years ago, we all saw firsthand the disastrous results when a ruthless capitalist, a scam artist, a showman and a liar could, with no public service experience, became the president of the United States,” the questioner said, tying Ramaswamy to former President Donald Trump. “And yet we are here again.”

    Thank you, New Hampshire voter!

“She roasted Ramaswamy for his “seemingly nonsensical fast-talking empty words interspersed with name dropping Thomas Jefferson and George Washington,” and said his rhetoric on the stump “should not be misconstrued as knowledgeable.”

rr – Were you in Exeter?

  3. BiD… Ha!   Nope… I was in our capital city of Concord yesterday taking a refresher course on tapestry weaving.
Although…  I did drive pass Vivek’s campaign bus on the highway on my way home.  I gave it the one finger salute even though it had already passed me.

    Jack…  great selection!

  4. We got to see a lot of great musicians play at the Alys Stephens at UAB. Chick was one. John Prine was another.

Just happened to still have the tv on last night when Pete appeared for the cold open. It was just right, I hope he gets some credit for that.

  5. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/15/politics/jim-jordan-house-republicans-speaker/index.html

“Senior House Republican says GOP members ready to block Jordan”

“One senior Republican House member who is part of the opposition to Jordan told CNN that there he believes there are roughly 40 “no” votes, and that he has personally spoken to 20 members who are willing to go to the floor and block Jordan’s path if the Ohio Republican forces a roll-call vote on Tuesday.”

Good! Also, it’s an FU to Orange Adolf! It’s time to gang up against the schoolyard bully.

  6. https://thehill.com/policy/international/4257048-graham-warns-iran-if-it-escalates-war-in-israel-were-coming-for-you/

“Here’s my message. If Hezbollah, which is a proxy of Iran, launches a massive attack on Israel, I would consider that a threat to the State of Israel, existential in nature.”

“I will introduce a resolution in the United States Senate to allow military action by the United States in conjunction with Israel to knock Iran out of the oil business. Iran, if you escalate this war, we’re coming for you.”

But, Lindsay, your orange overlord thinks Hezbollah is “smart.” Are you finally willing to distance yourself from him or will you retract your statement as soon as you get a phone call from Mar-a-Ego?

He is just doing the Lindsey strut. All hot air for a local audience.
Hezbollah has little ability to do offensive warfare, their main offensive weapons are the rockets and you don’t invade with rockets. They do have a few tanks they use in Syria but they wouldn’t last long against Israel and they know it. Better to use them against others.
As they have proved, they do have ability to resist any armed invasion of their territory which is why Israel doesn’t but then Hezbollah has been very circumspect about any attacks on Israel too. Unlike Hamas.
In some ways Lindsey and Hezbollah are a lot alike, a lot of threats but little action except against the powerless.

  8. https://apnews.com/article/lebanon-iran-israel-hezbollah-2e0b7fdb0d55e379f48bda56703b776b

“Israel considers Hezbollah its most serious immediate threat, estimating it has some 150,000 rockets and missiles, including precision-guided missiles that can hit anywhere in Israel. The group, which has thousands of battle-hardened fighters who participated in Syria’s 12-year conflict, also has different types of military drones.”

“Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday called on Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza, warning that the war might expand to other parts of the Middle East if Hezbollah joins the battle, and that would make Israel suffer “a huge earthquake.”

“Hezbollah fighters have been on full alert along Lebanon’s borders with Israel following last Saturday’s attack by the militant Palestinian group Hamas that left hundreds of Israeli civilians and soldiers dead.”

Poo-tin definitely wants a full-scale war in the Mideast. Interesting that tRUMPsky brought up Hezbollah and not Hamas in his rant. I hope someone is tracking his communications.

  9. Sigh.  Now the price of Thigh Masters is going to go through the roof.  She was good and should have gotten a raise.

It looks like Poland is going to have a regime change.  I have not found sources to link to yet.

  10. She would’ve been 77 tomorrow.

BB – The election in Poland sounds like it’s moving away from the nationalists.

“With war raging in neighbouring Ukraine and a migrant crisis brewing, the EU and Washington have been watching the vote closely, although both PiS and its mainstream opposition support NATO-member Poland’s key role in providing military and logistical support to Kyiv.”

    Ecuador is a mess.

    https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/15/americas/ecuador-election-gonzalez-noboa-intl-latam/index.html

“Crime remains at the forefront of Ecuador’s presidential election as voters choose between former lawmakers Luisa González or Daniel Noboa on Sunday.”

“The run-off vote comes months after the high-profile assassination of another presidential candidate, Fernando Villavicencio, who was slain days before the August 20 first-round poll.”

“Its deep ports, dollarized economy, and corruption have since made it a key transit point for drugs making its way to consumers in the US and Europe. The mounting violence, paired with a lack of economic prospects, have also compelled many Ecuadorians to leave the country.”

  11. Mrs. P has been a big fan of Suzanne and her post-acting nutrition and health efforts. Sorry to hear her breast cancer returned.

Lindsay – tough talk until his next round with dumbass in FL.

Hezbollah has missiles, what they don’t have is a way to defend their launch sites. Israel owns the skies over Lebanon. Second being battle hardened against poorly armed Syrian rebel groups where you have access to tanks is not the same as being battle hardened to take on the Israeli army. Now if they had been battle hardened in Afghanistan with the Taliban… Remember the Wagner group looked like a world class military in Syria too, But much less so than in Ukraine and Ukraine isn’t up to the IDF standards although you can at least talk about them being battle hardened.
Beware of propaganda and click bait.

  13. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/15/americas/ecuador-election-gonzalez-noboa-intl-latam/index.html

“Center-right candidate Daniel Noboa, the 35-year-old son of a banana tycoon, will become Ecuador’s next president, following an election driven by concerns over rising violence and a worsening security situation in the Latin American nation.”

“Voter turnout was “historic” at 82.33% despite initial security concerns, CNE president Diana Atamaint said after polls closed Sunday.”

“Ortiz said he hopes the new president will focus not just on security but on the economy because “there are so many people who are unemployed, that is why crime [is] abound.”

  14. From, a Foreign Policy interview of Tamir Hayman, a former head of Israeli intelligence

FP:Is the IDF ready and equipped to handle a two-front war?
TH:Yes, we can handle more than one front. We can handle even three fronts. But the military decision, victory, will not be simultaneous, but that’s no problem. We can finish one and move to another; we have enough capabilities that can do that.

    Not some AP hack.
In the interview their real worry isn’t that Israel will have trouble handling them, it is that Hezbollah will believe their own bullshit and do something stupid.

  15. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/one-killed-3-wounded-cross-border-hezbollah-attack-northern-israel-2023-10-15/

“Lebanese Hezbollah fighters launched attacks on Israeli army posts and a northern border village on Sunday, and Israel retaliated with strikes in Lebanon as U.N. peacekeepers warned border clashes were escalating.”

“We have no interest in a war in the north. We don’t want to escalate the situation,” Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told reporters. “If Hezbollah chooses the path of war, it will pay a very heavy price. Very heavy. But if it restrains itself, we will respect that and keep the situation as it is,” Gallant said.
