I want to thank Bink for the work he did last year creating a playlist of all of Jace’s Sunday Serendipity selections. He linked to them here

I had bookmarked the link but hadn’t gotten around to playing them until Saturday afternoon when I played them for 5 hours straight, commercial free. I think Bink said there was around 24 hrs worth of music on that list. I truly enjoyed it. Playing that many selections all at once I was able to notice the difference in Jace’s approach and mine. It may have been because he actually knew what he was doing, Me? not so much.

My process for deciding what to play each Sunday is very random and haphazard. It depends on what catches my attention (if anything does) then running with it. This week Felix Mendelssohn popped up in a novel I was reading and so it goes.

    Felix Mendelssohn‘s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, is his last large orchestral work. It holds an important place in the violin repertoire and is one of the most popular and most frequently performed violin concertos in history. A typical performance lasts just under half an hour.
    Mendelssohn originally proposed the idea of the violin concerto to Ferdinand David, a close friend and then concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Although conceived in 1838, the work took another six years to complete and was not premiered until 1845. During this time, Mendelssohn maintained a regular correspondence with David, who gave him many suggestions. The work itself was one of the foremost violin concertos of the Romantic era and was influential on many other composers.

  3. saving national treasures.  good idea for the vaccine priority list in addition to the medics, 1st responders, gov’t continuity folk & those over 65.  it would be a challenge though.  am curious as to who the trail would put on this list???

    (FORT YATES, N.D.) — The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota is prioritizing the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to those who speak Dakota and Lakota languages.

    Standing Rock Tribal Chairman Mike Faith tells KXMB-TV it’s about keeping customs alive.

    “It’s something we have to pass on to our loved ones, our history, our culture our language. We don’t have it in black and white, we tell stories. That’s why it’s so important,” Faith said.

    The Standing Rock reservation straddles the North Dakota and South Dakota border and is home to about 8,000 people, more than half of whom live in North Dakota.

    Faith said only about 300 people on the reservation are fluent in the language.

    Frontline health care workers already have begun receiving he vaccine at the Fort Yates hospital, but starting next week priority will be for those who speak their native language.

    Well… here it is…  that last Sunday for regular season football.  Can’t wait to see the playoffs…  even though the Patriots won’t be there this year.  I’ll be rooting for Brady and Gronk now.  I also love the Packers.  I’d love to see Brady vs Rodgers for the NFC Championship.  I’d bet it’d be a better game than the Super Bowl.

    Also crazy, the anti-vaxxers. I expect it from q-razies like the new Congresswoman who says “my body, my choice,” but only when it comes to vaccinations.  Even frontline, medical workers are refusing vaccinations.   

    I want the vaccine and a card to show I’ve been inoculated so I can travel.

  20. So Dumbass and his dumb ass lawyer threaten the Georgia Secretary of State with criminal action if he doesn’t find the 12,000 votes he needs to win the state. Stupid bastard. It’s his version of “Nice place you got here. Be a shame to see anything happen to it. “

    During their conversation, Trump issued a vague threat to both Raffensperger and Ryan Germany, the secretary of state’s legal counsel, suggesting that if they don’t find that thousands of ballots in Fulton County have been illegally destroyed to block investigators — an allegation for which there is no evidence — they would be subject to criminal liability.

    “That’s a criminal offense,” he said. “And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer.”

  26. Yes we have more confirmation that SFB is a criminal wannabe dictator or mob boss.  What should be a lot of fun is that in a few days he will be out of office and a lot of people will legally attack him.  No more presidential you can’t touch me BS.
     
    And, for me,  I am imagining that the whole of the White House is one screaming rage house.  The idiot and imbecile does not like having his dark actions shown the public spotlight.  This is one that has to have his sludged up brain case going into spasms.  Perhaps a blood pressure blow up could cause bigger issues in the grease laden blood vessels?  Rumours are that once set off he goes wild until calmed down by some distraction, just like a toddler having a fit.  So it is chuckles night tonight.

The legal process was exhausted, and the results were decisively confirmed,” he added. “The Department of Justice, too, found no basis for overturning the result.   39. Dr. Fauci said that we can vaccinate one million people per day.  That means we wouldn’t get everyone vaccinated until next fall, if everyone is willing to get vaccinated.  

    Wait, that’s just one shot. Double the time to complete the vaccination series. However, if 30% refuse…
