  1. “AOC- a villain your pea-brain can remember!  A-O-C, just like H-R-C, do you see where we are going with this?!” (this ad sponsored by Conservative Vampires Without a Soul Committed to Multi-Generational Degradation of Women PAC)”
    Bink
Your comment was so spot on! Every time I see AOC disparaged along the same lines i think, here we go again. I hope she never gives up.

  2. This is why the bells rang in Paris and London celebrated, too.  This why Canada and the rest of the free world is with Biden.
And because Biden’s win is popular with our allies, is another reason why the EV shouldn’t play games to prop up tRUMPsky.  Also, there will be the worst national strike he’s ever seen…and Christmas is coming.

Yes, there’s nothing like goose-stepping all over the holidays.

(AOC could learn a lot from my hero, Elizabeth Warren.)

  3. EV?
Stavridis is explaining the potential impact of the Esper firing and filling of the position with someone without the requisite background and knowledge. “Yes, we should be very concerned.”

  4. given how he plays the game, could it be that mitch is hesitant to contradict D’ump in order to assure no vetos or obstruction on legislation that he views must pass during the next few weeks — stuff like defense bill, some more covid stimulus $$, and other promises mitch made during campaign.

  5. last week wapo reported:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Wednesday that an economic stimulus bill should be completed before the end of the year and will be the focus when the Senate resumes work next week.
McConnell (R-Ky.) also said that state and local aid — a longtime Democratic demand — could be part of the legislation.
McConnell made his comments during a news conference in Kentucky a day after the election, and following his own reelection to a seventh term in the Senate.
“We need another rescue package. The Senate goes back into session next Monday. Hopefully the partisan passions that prevented us from doing another rescue package will subside with the election. And I think we need to do it and I think we need to do it before the end of the year,” McConnell said.
“It’s a possibility we will do more for state and local governments,” McConnell said.

  6. none of what mitch said last week can be accomplished with an unhappy vengeful D’ump veto  possible and probable if the senate GOPers call him a loser and start congratulating joe.

  7. and don’t forget, they are trying to squeeze as much money as they can from their base while there’s still time before the base loses interest

  8. the guardian just pointed this out a few minute ago:

There’s an interest take in the Washington Post this morning on the Republican party’s indulgence of Donald Trump refusing to accept the election result. They write:

Only a smattering of Republican senators have acknowledged Biden’s victory, and there has been little coaxing on the part of senior GOP lawmakers to help Trump come to terms with his loss. Some said there is value in ensuring the integrity of this year’s results, while others described a chaotic and scattershot operation that they hoped would eventually push Trump to cooperate in a peaceful transfer of power.

“What is the downside for humoring him for this little bit of time? No one seriously thinks the results will change,” said one senior Republican official. “He went golfing this weekend. It’s not like he’s plotting how to prevent Joe Biden from taking power on 20 January. He’s tweeting about filing some lawsuits, those lawsuits will fail, then he’ll tweet some more about how the election was stolen, and then he’ll leave.”

  9. So much going on. Kamala empowering little girls and Joe promising to unite the people.  I was hoping for a few words about ending the two wars. Nothing. Of course Trump’s bloviating of how he will end the wars was just jargon. Under Obama the wars plodded on. I am thinking people have forgotten the troops nearly totally.

  10. NYTimes:

“It’s very difficult for Republicans whose leader got 71 million votes, the most by any Republican standard-bearer ever, to simply just turn their backs on him,” Mr. Naftali said. “The issue is now not so much Trump as loyalty to Trumpism. And I think that’s why you see the contortions now. If you’re a Republican and you get this wrong, you’re going to be primaried out.”

There is a more immediate concern for the party, too. With Mr. Perdue and Ms. Loeffler facing elections whose outcomes are likely to determine control of the Senate, Republicans are reluctant to do anything to dampen the enthusiasm of their conservative base. Any hint that leaders were prodding Mr. Trump to exit the stage could provoke a Twitter rampage from the president that could turn his supporters against the party at a critical time.

“The Republican Party hemorrhaged seats in 1974 after Watergate, after the near-impeachment of a Republican president,” Mr. Naftali said, while they appear on track to gain House seats this year after Democrats’ impeachment of Mr. Trump. “So what is the lesson for politicos? The lesson is not to run away from Trump.”

  11. I agree with Sturg. Mitch just doesn’t want a fight with Trump because he needs his voters to turnout for the GA races to keep his majority, which is ALL he cares about

  12. “…Mitch just doesn’t want a fight with Trump because he needs his voters to turnout for the GA races to keep his majority…”

craig, do you think mitch will gum up the works all the way to jan 5?    what’s the impact on passage by dec. 11th of gov’t funding bill with such a strategy?

  13. Renee, Ain’t that the truth?  Are you following the ACA hearing at all?  I’m watching the Wapo updates – even Gorsuch sounded skeptical about Texas’ arguments.

  14. Georgia makes a lot more sense than Moscow Mitch giving a rat’s behind about stimulus money to help Americans.

  15. Pogo…   no.  I’ve been listening to sport talk radio.  Listening to the analysis of why the Patriots struggled so much in their win against the Jets last night.  Been taking a bit of a break from politics….  but reading every comment here.  I’ll get back into the game in a few days.

  16. RR, I wasn’t listening, just reading the updates. If the updates are any indication Dumbass loses this one.

  17. Watched some of the Judicial Committee and testimony of McCabe.

I could just barely stomach Lindsey.  At least he isn’t terminally stupid, but my God Backburn is a total bitch.  If I didn’t so object to it, she would even be entitled to the C word.

  18. tidbits from politico:

MEANWHILE — “Mike Pence heading to Florida for some time off,” by Associated Press: “One week after Election Day, Vice President Mike Pence appears ready to take some time off. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, Pence is scheduled to travel to Sanibel Tuesday through Saturday. Pence has vacationed on the island along Florida’s Gulf Coast several times previously.”

CHANGE IS COMING — “Use of helipad at Mar-a-Lago ends with Trump’s term on Jan. 20,” by Palm Beach Daily News’ William Kelly: “For nearly four years, Mar-a-Lago has functioned as the “winter White House” of President Donald Trump. One of the perks of that status was a helipad approved by the town so Marine One could whisk the president in and out of the 17.5-acre estate without jamming traffic. But helicopter trips to and from the helipad at Mar-a-Lago will no longer be permitted come Jan. 20 — the day Trump’s chief executive powers transfer to President Elect Joe Biden. When it approved the 50-foot, 8-inch-deep concrete helipad on the west lawn of ocean-to-lake estate, the Town Council stipulated it was ‘for business relating solely to the office of the president.’ It also said the helipad must be removed once the president leaves office.”

  19. Jamie, Blackburn has that intolerable and dangerous combination of being both mean and stupid.  I’ve heard a couple of my friends say (and really, it was a couple years ago) that they thought she was sort of attractive. ~~ Right ~~ Duh, stupid and mean trump aging cheerleader looks every day.  As we used to say, it doesn’t get late enough and I don’t get drunk enough to feel like I’d want to pick her up in a bar if we were the only 2 left in it.

  20. atlantajournalconstitution:

Democrat Raphael Warnock raced to contrast himself with Republican U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler on Tuesday with a minute-long TV ad that opens by declaring “people like me aren’t supposed to run for office.”
The ad features Warnock, pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, ironing his shirt and preparing for the day as he talks of his humble upbringing in the housing projects of Savannah. It never overtly mentioned Loeffler, a wealthy former financial executive, though the intent was clear.
“This race for Senate is about who you think best represents you. If you’re looking for a billionaire, I’m not your guy,” he said in the ad. “But if you want someone who’s been through some of the same challenges as you, I’m Raphael Warnock and it would be my honor to serve you.”
The TV spot is already the second ad launched by Warnock since he landed a place in the Jan. 5 runoff against Loeffler, whose husband Jeff Sprecher owns the Atlanta-based company that runs the New York Stock Exchange.

  21. “Come into my Parler,” said the spider to the fly, “ and I will feed you Ex-Lax.”
    ”Oh no!  I’ll die!”
    ”You’ll SHIT.”

  22. Four in my company have now tested positive.  One was sick so the department got tested.  They are on the other side of the building, but still walk through the same hallways.

Were there any major changes to the state offices in TX?  There might be some changes coming if TX turned a little more purple.

  24. nicole and gang were opining today on possibility/opportunity come jan 20th a certain ex-potus might be tempted to sell security secrets he knows to someone who will pay enough to wipe out his up-coming $400 million – 1 billion personal debts.

think bff vlad known to be richest man in world might be interested in such a deal?

  25. mary trump:

“President-elect Joe Biden won legitimately and decisively. No matter how much Donald and his enablers lie and spin, nothing will change that. But they’re going to break as much as they can on the way out. Stay vigilant—this is an attempted coup.”

  26. Thanks to Ms Pat for this : nicole and gang were opining today on possibility/opportunity come jan 20th a certain ex-potus might be tempted to sell security secrets he knows to someone who will pay enough to wipe out his up-coming $400 million – 1 billion personal debts.

It’s about time that people started talking about trump’s role as putin’s spy and saboteur. This is the greatest intelligence/sabotage coup since the snake turned Adam and Eve. It’s out in the open and should be obvious even to the most oblivious observer. No wonder trump doesn’t give a crap about the russian seizure of Crimea. Crimea is where putin is siting the trump golf resort and ivanka super shopping center – the ‘trump’ Mall of the Empire.

  27. Jeremy Bash got onto trump’s sale of intelligence, too.  We NEED more of this talk, especially in Georgia.
