Prosecutors Implicate Trump

Federal prosecutors in New York request that court impose a “substantial term of imprisonment” for Michael Cohen. Consider that Cohen named Trump as part of his criminal conspiracy.

Also, Mueller files document saying Cohen cooperative, the “information provided credible.” Significant information about contacts between Russia and Trump.

  1. Perhaps the most significant line in Cohen documents tonight, Mueller (under his own signature, very rare) says “Cohen provided the SCO [Special Counsel’s Office] useful information concerning certain discrete Russia-related matters core to its investigation that he obtained by virtue of his regular contact with company executives during the campaign.”

  2. OK, then. Let’s add to the list of folks who have the trumps’ empire hanging by a spider’s thread over a white hot vat of perchloric acid :

wrecks tillerson, Rosenstein, secessions, comey, mcnab, the Cyprus bank/ross, cohen, manyfraud, the maids, a deported Dutchman, kislyak, gates, flynn, stone, the ‘strippers’, corsi, weisselberg, wikileaks/assange, julieannie, deutschebank/Merkel, 13 Russian missing saboteurs, putin, eric, jared, junior, ivanka, and hizzownself.

Other than that things seem safe and tidy.

  3. Footnote 2, page 4 of Mueller’s Cohen sentencing doc: “The defendant admitted that his account of an earlier meeting was false, that he had in fact conferred with Individual 1 [Donald Trump] about contacting the Russian government before reaching out to gauge Russia’s interest in such a meeting.”

  4. So what does Cohen get for the useful information he provided  the SCO? A less substantial sentence or the chance to tell more?  It seems to me that in the end this is going to lead directly to Trump. Expect a tweet storm before long.

  5. Craig,

What stands out for me is the are the use of the words political synergy and synergy at a government level. By any other name that is collusion and it is direct.

  6. Another List of Choices for the Usurper-in-Chief, Guardians of the Law, and Malfeasors

    1. Impeachment, 2. Resignation, 3. Flight to Avoid Prosecution, 4. Outright Defection, 5. Warrant for Arrest in NYS, 6. Warrant for Arrest Upon Leaving Office, 7. Suicide, 8. Heart attack/Stroke, 9. 25th Amendment by VP and Cabinet, 10. Pleading Guilty to Lesser Charge for Reduced Sentence, 11.Pleading Diminished Capacity, 12. Hearings/Trial/Conviction/Sentence, 13. Death Penalty, 14.Kidnapping and Disappearance into Moscow, Tel Aviv, or Riyadh, 15. Assassination, 16. Faked Death and Flight. More than one of these choices may happen. The choices are not mutually exclusive.

I believe that occultation is beyond even mr trump’s phenomenal ability.

None of these choices look happy for the greatest field marshal, legal expert, foreign policy strategist, businessman, science expert, economist, author and sex machine that ever lived. As nero said in somewhat more violent circumstances, Oh, what an artist the world is losing.

  7. listening to, republican light, MSNBC, and the overbalance channel, CNN, i come to the conclusion that they are beyond winging it, they are approaching Lost In Space.

Liver and onions for dinner tonight.  A good time for a traditional, and real, dinner from the 1950’s.  Nothing the fruitcakes of talking heads would have ever experienced.

  8. According to Mueller, Manafort told ‘discernible lies’. The other shoe just dropped.

Trump’s ass is in the crosshairs and it is suddenly a target rich environment.

  9. If I were a republican with a serious notion of challenging SFB I would be heading to Iowa and other states come January. This is going to get sticky for Trump and the first  gooper  to call him out is going to get some serious coverage and name recognition.

  10. Donald Trump committed a felony:

    1) Cohen made illegal campaign finance payments at Trump’s direction.

    2) Purpose of conspiracy was to influence election.

    3) The agreement’s “principal purpose” was to influence election.

  11. Craig,

Pretty damning if you ask me. It also makes  me think that Mueller is holding a smoking gun somewhere. Gonna be a long weekend at the White House. Perhaps spent searching for alternative facts.

Mueller has done well in the way of insulating himself. Any attempt to remove him now would almost certainly bring down the Wrath of the House including impeachment.

  12. “I think what the totality of today’s filings show is that is that the House will have little choice, the way this is going, other than to start impeachment proceedings.” — John Dean (CNN)

  13. I don’t see in the Constitution any protection of presidents from criminal prosecution. I think Mueller should give my theory a try. If the SCOTUS disagrees, then the prosecution can wait until January 20th, 2021. There’s nothing to lose, Mr Mueller. Go for it !

  14. trump slugs back at tillerson : “dumb as a rock” & “lazy as hell”

And, trump says he picks the best people.

What’s wrong with this picture ?
